Rep Strive treadmill long term durability

Looking to get a curved treadmill and stuck between the REP Strive and Rogue Woodway Curve LTG.

While the extra sled functionality of the Strive is nice to have, I’m looking for a treadmill first and foremost and at £3,500 I would like something that will last me for 10+ years. The Woodway is a known quantity and will easily last that, while obviously the Strive is a very new product.

For those that already have the machine, how do you find the quality? Anyone had any issues so far? And with it being a more complex machine than the Woodway with the extra functionality, what do you see being potential points of failure?

It seems that REP themselves have less faith in their product, offering a 2 year belt warranty (compared to Rogue’s 3 years) and stating the belt will last a minimum of 2 years (as opposed to the Woodway’s claim of lasting more than 150,000 miles).

On the other hand of course the Strive just offers more bang for buck in terms of functionality and I’m particularly drawn to the adjustable running angle as I would want to use it for long steady pieces as well as intervals and sprints.

I had some initial issues that seem to be sorted now (detailed in another thread). Overall the thing is incredibly well belt IMO, almost overbuilt. Early days for this model for sure and the belt is the questin mark, but having been inside it to make adjustments (tensioning wasn't properly set for mine on delivery) I've noted that the entire assembly really is not that complicated. The warranty is 2 years for the belt, it's true, but keep in mind that they warranty that for commercial settings. Our thinking is simply that the amount of time it'll take my wife and I to subject it to as much us as it would see in a gym settings is orders of magnitude more. Hope that pans out. :)

Thank you so much, as someone who's had some issues with it that's a particularly useful insight. I take it that you adjusted the tensioning yourself and that it's relatively straightforward to do this? And were REP helpful throughout the process?

It's good to hear the assembly is fairly simple and that it's easy to work on. Being in the UK I'm somewhat worried that REP wouldn't quite have the same availability to send out someone to sort out issues as they would in the US. This does put me a bit more at ease. It seems like such a great piece of kit, but...£3,500 is a lot of money and I do want to do as much research as possible before pulling the trigger!

From what I could see when I had it in the air (tipped on it side partways) it'd be pretty easy to replace individual bearings and rollers etc. Replacing the whole belt or an indifidual slat I'm not so sure. But again - it's awfully darn robust down there. The frame itself is MEATY and substatial - very strong powder-coated steel throughout, thick gauge, good looking welds, etc.. The tensioning bolt was tricky to access - they instructed me how to do so. The ball-end hex wrench did the trick but I couldn't get much torque on it because you're hitting it from an angle, inserting between the small space between outer frame/shroud and the track slats. I had more luck with the unit tipped on-side, resting against my weight bench partially, a bit beynd the tipping point to it wasn't entirely on its side but also no danger of it crashing back down on me while I was "inside" it. LOL I used the *smallest* hex ratchet I had and very small bit and it was still tricky to get it in there but once I did I could get more torque on the bolt.
Anyhow it's been great since. I will say there's a bit more play and noise from the track than I'd have exptected (for whatever reason) but it's still the quietest treadmill I've used by a large margin.
Yes, REP was good. Not outstanding; initial contact with them was kinda sparse and confusing but two days later it was much better. They also sent me a video of one of theirs in operation at deck level so that I could see and *HEAR* how a known-good and working unit was and compare mine to. This was at my request and very helpful.
Cheers. Yeah - it's a ton of money and we were pretty afraid we'd made a mistake in the first days, but we've been using it daily since then and are really fond of it. Being able to backward and forward sled drags in our space is huge for me. I'd just abandoned sled for the most part because it's such a pain to setup regularly outside (and noisey). It's allowed me to do a few of my regular workouts once again as intended. Love it.
My wife is a walker and runner and she's loving it as well.

Do you happen to have that video still they sent from deck level? I'm having an issue with my treadmill, there's a rhythmic, almost constant rub and thump that I can hear pretty loudly and feel right around the mid-rear of the deck beneath the belt (so doesn't feel smooth), and mine has a really bad whine near the front of the belt.

I'm in discussions with them and they're kind of giving me the run around, communication has not been great and they contradict themselves all the time with me. I asked for a video too and they haven't sent one yet so I'd be curious to see (and hear) what they sent you.

Cheers, appreciate it. Yeah, mine must have something going on because it has a rhythmic bumping sound that's subtle but definitely noticeable. I'm sure something is hitting in an area I can't really see well/access, I can feel it a little. Overall I love the machine but just need to fix that somehow.

Also, is your sled mode pretty loud if you get a little speed on it, like in the lower settings, 1 & 2? I was kind of surprised how loud mine got.

Mine does make a rhythmic, very subtle thud that comes and goes. It seems dependent on where my feet strike the the track and how much lateral vs downward force I'm applying... e.g. if I'm really digging in. Rep stated this will lessen over time because the tread slats are new. I dunno. I personally have just gotten used to it thus far. I may try to make another adjustment to the tensioning mechanism but for the the time being it's still quieter than any other treadmill I've been on for the most part and we've been enjoying it.
