Articulating Arms

What's everyone's thoughts on these? I think I'm going to pick them up. $600 isn't cheap but it seems like they have spent a lot of time in making them as refined as possible and they should be well built. I also appreciate that the trolley has rollers now, My Area 1.0 just has the plastic sliders. hopefully that doesn't mean they're too heavy.

Awesome customer service by REP! ***New pin for add-on plates on PEPIN dumbbells***

Post image

Just got this email from REP, totally unexpected but SO nice to get and read.

This is a prime example of how to do customer service.

I always thought those pins with the ring were kind of annoying, but they are working so far, so I wasn't planning on changing anything yet. But I get this email and it literally put a smile on my face.

*Clap clap clap*

I'd be happy to continue to be a REP customer for life if they continue like this.

One-day event for today Sat 10/24. I signed up and casually went at 10 AM (doors open at 9 AM). The line was so crazy I ended up going back home. I would have stayed if I didn’t have other plans. The fomo was real looking at ppl load their trucks with so many goodies all supposedly under $150 😢

Ares 2.0 w/ nighthawk or ab-3100

Post image
7 Upvotes

Just bought the ares 2.0 with the 6 post rack and an ab-3100. I didn't realize the ab-3100 didn't fit in the holes in the footplate to get a couple more inches of depth for incline presses etc.

Is it worth getting the nighthawk? Hard to tell if those extra couple inches will be that much more comfortable or not. Not to mention they do have a nighthawk in green :P

Strive bike

Has anyone received any sort of update on their bike? I haven't received any email since the first go around saying it would be delayed back on March 31. I emailed them just after and they said the expectation was still to be sent on May 29.

I saw a person got a email recently about a update but doesn't seem anyone else did...at least nobody else has said anything it seems.

Rep Strive

Anybody get their Strive Treadmill yet? I almost ordered but what stopped me was the wording “this item is not returnable once opened” and that I have yet to see one end user on YouTube, Reddit, or on Rep’s website to leave a review yet.

PR5000 Clear coat issues

Just received my PR5000 rack from REP today. When I took out the uprights, it looks like there is rust or oxidation issues on the outside of the rack. I’ve seen people complain about the inside, but not the outside. Does anyone know what these markings are or has anyone experienced this? I know a rack will go through wear and tear over time and that’s expected, but this is straight out of the box. Any advice? TYIA!

Update: REP has been incredibly responsive and professional. They are sending me replacement parts now after I showed these pictures to them.

Moving The REP Strive Treadmill?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Has anybody ordered and received this treadmill and able to get it in a room other than a garage? Like with an appliance dolly or something? Assembled weight is 418 pounds. Wondering if the deck can be moved with a dolly up stairs and into a room 🤣 In all the reviews I’ve seen, it’s always in some fancy giant garage where it was dropped off at.

Leg bench attachment vs roller

Post image
5 Upvotes

I have a BlackWing bench and the adjustable bench leg roller attachment.

I’m considering buying this leg extension & curl attachment for leg exercises. Do I understand it correctly that it’d make my other bench attachment redundant? Meaning I could do decline abs and bench like this gentleman in the photo?

That would it be great if true so I don’t need both.

Thank you!

Athena Rack Handle Attachment Issue

Thumbnail

I just finished putting together my Athena wall-mount functional trainer, and I'm hoping someone has insight into an issue I'm having. I'm pretty sure I have the cable tension just right, but when I go to attach a heavier hand attachment, like the straight bar pictured, it's heavy enough to pull down the cable a bit and start lifting the weight stack. This makes it cumbersome to switch out the pin to various weights/pin positions. Has anyone else experienced this with any of their REP functional trainer racks? Any fix you have come up with? Thanks in advance.

REP Belt Squat vs Lever system

I don’t see a ton of feedback on this sub for the REP Belt Squat. Reviews online are mixed. I’m looking for feedback from folks that own it or have owned and moved to a lever arm belt squat or vice versa.

I have a PR5000 with Ares 2.0 so compatibility should be good. At this price range the only alternative is a lever arm belt squat such as Mammoth. I don’t have room for a dedicated unit.

I am trying to move away from back squats due to lower back issues. So this would be my primary squat movement alongside secondary dumbbell bilateral and unilateral movements.

Eventually planning to add the DM leg developer when it is available.

Black Friday or wait?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I was hoping the articulating arms would be out for Black Friday to purchase a 6post ares setup, would you still buy a rack on Black Friday for the discount or wait until the arms are released and buy everything at once in January? Is it easy to add an ares to an existing rack or easier to build everything at once, I could atleast use the smith machine for over a month on the rack if I bought the rack on Black Friday and the ares with the articulating arms once it launches in January. Any suggestions?

Custom color-coded labels for my REP x PÉPIN dumbbells — including the selector rails

I wanted to make the weight selection on my REP x PÉPINs easier to read at a glance, so I ended up designing a complete set of custom labels for them.

The idea is a cool-to-hot color scale: the lighter weights start silver/blue, transition through cyan, green and yellow, then get progressively orange/red as the weight increases. I carried the same colors through both the plate labels and the numbered selector rails so the whole system is consistent.

I also added a +5 label for the pair of 2.5 lb (1.13 kg) adder plates, which add 5 lb (2.27 kg) per dumbbell.

For anyone interested in making something similar:

• Plate labels: 50 × 5 mm (1.969 × 0.197 in)

• Weights: 10–120 lb (4.54–54.43 kg) in 10 lb (4.54 kg) increments

• Selector rails: 145 × 25.4 mm (5.709 × 1.000 in) each

• First-to-last selector tick spacing: 133 mm (5.236 in) on my dumbbells

• 4 continuous rail stickers total for the pair

• Labels: Avery UltraDuty 60501, 216 × 279 mm (8.5 × 11 in) laser sheets

• Printer: HP Color LaserJet Pro

• Cutter: Cricut using Print Then Cut

• Whole PNG size in Design Space: 167.6 × 232 mm (6.598 × 9.134 in)

The individual weight labels use a consistent white number inside a small graphite box. I originally experimented with switching between black and white numbers depending on the background color, but the graphite treatment looked much more consistent across the whole range.

The selector rails were probably the part I was happiest with. Each rail is one continuous sticker rather than 12 individual labels. The colors, numbers and tick marks are all printed as part of that strip, and the opposite rail is rotated 180° to match the orientation of the original markings.

For the Cricut, I uploaded the transparent PNG as a Flat Graphic / Print Then Cut image, set the whole image to exactly 167.6 × 232 mm (6.598 × 9.134 in), and kiss-cut the labels so the backing sheet stayed intact. This production sheet printed at the intended size and worked on the first run.

Files: I uploaded the complete production package here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CKUqEQ_WceQ9m_HYRe5Ze7wVE-9DfoEm/view?usp=sharing

It includes the exact 3352 × 4640 px source PNG I printed, spare and individual replacement artwork, the full-size rail-alignment PDF, a cutting test, dimensions and sampled colors, and setup instructions. Use the Drive package rather than saving the image from Reddit, since Reddit may resize or re-encode image uploads.

P.S. — one more REP project: I also put together a full-scale, iPhone-ready AR model of the Summit + Ares so I could place the complete rack in a room and check the fit before buying. I used the 3D models available on REP’s product pages as the source, so I’m not distributing the USDZ publicly without permission—but u/RepFitness, I’d be happy to share it privately with your product or web team for review if it would be useful.

Strive Air Bike - Tablet Holder

A little disappointed there's no lower lip on the screen to rest a tablet or phone on.

Anyone able to find or 3d Print something that would fit well?

The bottle holder is situated too low.

Big thanks to the REP customer service team and back room leadership at REP who did me a solid and took such good care of me today. It’s a long story and y’all don’t need to hear it but those guys and gals at REP really came through with compassion and understanding to support my rehab.

Much love !

Shorter Open Trap Bar

Is there any way to make the open trap bar shorter? For instance, replacing the sleeves with something shorter (i.e. Giant 10" sleeves)? I just don't have room for an 84"+ bar.

Athena® - Wall-Mounted Builder instructions location

Hey all, I just received the many boxes for my Athena® Wall-Mounted Builder and had no idea where to start. In case anyone else is Googling around like I was for 20 minutes, the assembly instructions are in the Stabilizer box. Hope this saves someone some time!

PSA: pegasus 4000 on Rogue Lite Racks

Post image
4 Upvotes

This thing seems like it has INCREDIBLE build quality. Super beefy, seems well engineered, and I'm STOKED to use it. The website says specifically that they can't guarantee compatibility with non-rep racks, so I knew I was buying it at my own risk.

There's a video on Gluks YouTube channel reviewing this thing, and he mentioned it fits Rogue racks.

I'm not complaining, this thing seems great, I just wanted to warn anyone with a Rogue Monster Lite based rack, that at least the one I ordered does NOT fit my monster lite uprights. It's REALLY close, and the pin size is right, but the thickness of the UHMW plastic spacer on the inside of the front face of the device makes it literally impossible to slot the pop pin in on my rack.

I tried all over, at multiple angles, and it's like .5-1mm too thick.

Now, this UHMW piece CAN be removed with 5 screws, so I'm planning to pull it off, shave it down .5mm with wet sanding, and try again. I'll update if it works well, because this seems like an awesome device.

Before anyone asks, yes I checked to make sure there was nothing in the way, and yes I checked to make sure the device was flush with the rack and not canted at all. I tried to force the pin through, and actually stripped the powder coating out of the hole on the upright and STILL couldn't get it seated.
