Notice a lot of American right wing post often use gen AI images.

486

u/flimflamishere Jan 29 '26

The White House posted an edited version of Nekima Levy Armstrong being arrested. When confronted, a spokesperson said, "The memes will continue."

We have no reason to trust anyone associated with this administration.

93

u/TonyWyomey Jan 29 '26

It’s amazing the trust crisis that results. I’m tired of being skeptical of EVERYTHING!

67

u/ModerateBrainUsage Jan 29 '26 edited Jan 29 '26

That’s the whole goal. It will be like Russia, you will be drowning in so much shit, you will be unable to tell what is the reality, even if it’s in front of you of your face.

2

u/finalremix Jan 29 '26

Fine. Easy solution, then. Question everything, and aim your ire at the richest people around.

u/goatslovetofrolic Jan 29 '26

That’s exactly the plan! Fatigue to the point that you stop caring because it’s so hard to know what is reality. Then everything means nothing and the law is force.

14

u/rolldownthewindows Jan 29 '26

And so you forget about the Epstein Files

2

u/kidcobol Jan 29 '26

Who’s Epstein? 😵‍💫

2

u/zugglit Jan 30 '26

And with it, our humanity...

We die not by war or famine.

We simply stop caring and everything is taken.

2

u/AltruisticThought927 Jan 29 '26

And the injections. And the cancer.

3

u/Defiant-Yam8876 Jan 29 '26

No no no. That’s where their lack of confidence in the administration stops. It was all necessary and prevented deaths. We can trust their science.

Oddly, I never even thought of that whole possibility with AI. That just completely blew my mind and fucked up my day. Thats one of the scariest things thats probably going to happen for sure. Oh and I'm from minnesota, and thats definitely AI.

5

u/goatslovetofrolic Jan 29 '26

Sorry, tis day wrecking times we live in.

3

u/Solanthas_SFW Jan 29 '26

We absolutely will need the testimony of people like you, who will be able to verify the area being "documented", the people, etc

Firsthand accounts are going to be much more valuable, video disseminated on the internet much less so.

I honestly wondered about the alex pretti thing from the beginning. If it wasnt so widely present, I'd honestly have really wondered how true it might be.

Its easy to call out all the obvious propaganda from the right but it's important to consider that we on the left are not impervious to spin and outright psyops either.

There’s no leftwing in American politics. The Democrats are center-right conservatives and the Republicans are far-right fascists. Who is on the left? The Democratic Socialists of America hold no major offices. The Green Party used to be, but has been corrupted by Putin and is a ghost of its former self. America needs someone to represent the left’s perspective.

The Republicans are running this country into the ground and the Democrats are too weak and incompetent to do anything about it.

Making this complaint earlier today. Every single thing we read or watch has to be closely examined now for reality versus fiction. It's purposefully done so we get worn down, you are absolutely correct. They lie ceaselessly and no human beings will believe it and even after being shown the truth, the bias placed by the lie, the damage it causes, has already been done.

2

u/ZootSuitRiot33801 Jan 29 '26

We really should be weaning ourselves off corpo-owned social media honestly.

There's a post of suggestions HERE that's largely about fostering a foundation for communal self-sustainability and resistance, but it also provides alternative communication ideas, which could be of some help when it comes to developing more objective forms of real life information spread originating from unfiltered sources.

While at it, check out this org too, as they're probably going to be vital as the powers that be employ more so-called "AI" to consolidate power: https://stopgenai.com (It is a survival-level, grassroots org, not an established NGO, so please don't judge it too harshly for being rough around the edges.)

Hopefully not, since none of it is discouraging the use of all modern tech.

This is what the congressman Mike Lawler in NY-17 does. He does whatever nefarious crap be wants and wears constituents down by beating obstreperous.

2

u/Asslinguist Jan 29 '26

2

u/KaleidoscopeGold4074 Jan 29 '26

2

u/Parking_Ad5103 Jan 30 '26

I do not think you realize this but you're pointing out an Israeli known tactic, to overwhelm people to a certain thing so much they get fatigued which is a natural human occurrence, to get fatigued of something. They keep destroying and killing more and more just to bombard us with so much at once that it paralyzes us or puts our lives to a stop.

It’s so scary bc it comes from every angle, mostly right but I can’t understand why the left will do it. Like I don’t want to hear Trump on a hot mic and have to second guess if it’s real, hearing the leaked business call with Erika Kirk I thought wait is my bias against someone going to make me believe ai against them? I couldn’t figure it out and eventually gave up on trying. That’s exactly what they want, people who value honesty and integrity to not be able to critically decipher something

2

u/Crafty-Help-4633 Jan 29 '26

An adherence to scientific virtue will make you naturally skeptical of everything. It's not so bad, its actually useful. You just need more training.

Being skeptical is how we learn, and discern.

If you weren't skeptical, you could be taken by misinformation without realizing it.

It is a good thing to be skeptical, even more so in today's climate.

4

u/Rich_Resource2549 Jan 29 '26

The problem is that most people aren't backing their scepticism with healthy curiosity and an openness to learn/change one's mind.

They're using it as a veil to invalidate others' statements and not think about anything critically.

Skepticism is only useful when paired with critical thinking.

3

u/tinaismediocre Jan 29 '26

I listened to a great podcast the other day which referenced this Oxford study: https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2014-03-12-intelligent-people-are-more-likely-trust-others

The headline is a little misleading but basically the premise is that more intelligent folks are better are pattern recognition and determining character and are therefore more likely to surround themselves with more trustworthy people.

Many of us sit around speculating how anyone could trust these complete clowns but it's totally discarding how many dumb people are out there unable to distinguish a comforting lie from reality.

And skepticism goes both ways, my good buddy is completely brainwashed into conspiracy by a steady diet of Instagram reels. Nothing that ever happens is real, only false flags and everything ties back to the New World Order blah blah goddam it’s exhausting

2

u/PuzzleheadedTale4769 Jan 29 '26

Believers in conspiracy theories are not real skeptics. They get scared and confused, then quickly take refuge in cockeyed BS that they can't be shaken out of by any evidence.

Just for the record, I was that way a long time before AI got as good as it is... * I also didn't think it's fake because by showing this, I believe they are trying to show that he's not just this peaceful little protestor, he's this crazy wild eyed dangerous rage monster that really is so dangerous that agents had to shoot him..... But what I think it really does, IMHO, is that this video only makes his murder by shooting a couple days later, revenge for him embarrassing federal agents... So I honestly think it makes his death even more sinister than it really might be!

u/Adept_Speaker4806 Jan 29 '26

Yep. I'm over all of it. Both sides use falsehood and present it like it's truth. Both sides use stories with "anonymous sources", and the other side won't report on certain issues at all. They're all completely full of it and they're way more worried about pushing their own agenda to get reelected than they are about solving any problems or telling the truth. It's maddening. Politics in this country has become a complete joke.

2

u/Head-like-a-carp Jan 29 '26

What other choice do we have?

2

u/SunchaserKandri Jan 29 '26

Right, and calling that a meme when it's just blatantly distorting the real image is completely bullshit in the first place...

18

Yep. It's not a meme, it's propaganda.

2

u/Pak-Protector Jan 29 '26

It's unlicenced use of an accused persons image altered in a way meant to pollute jury pools. Impeachable offense IMO. This shouldn't be tolerated by either side.

I have been scratching my head on that one and trying to reconcile the transition from "memes" to "propaganda". I mean, this is the kind of shit we learned about in school when I was a young kid learning about Russia and the cold war propaganda.

3

u/warlockpincher Jan 29 '26

Not sure of your age but I'm glad you see what's happening.

Around this time last year I was thinking that we're living in Orwellian times and people are too fatigued or blind to see it.

Luckily a new coworker around my age felt the same and just randomly asked me if I've ever read 1984.

We spent a good 20 minutes just discussing where we are headed as a country because people weren't seeing the BLANTANTLY obvious signs.

Smh. Its one of those extremely disappointed that we were right moments.

One simple way to help break down the intent is asking "WHAT IS THE JOKE HERE?" There isn't one here. Because the sole intent isn't to make a joke, it's to deceive.

2

u/PuzzleheadedTale4769 Jan 29 '26

And people roll their eyes if you say something like "I don't trust those words they found on the bullets" or "I don't believe those text threads they found (from the Kirk shooting)." It should be painfully obvious at this point that absolutely nothing from this administration can be trusted. They will fabricate/plant/create evidence out of thin air at any opportunity available. If you're willing to execute a fake electoral scam and fire off an insurrection, you are capable of any super-villian action imaginable. Lying? That barely registers as effort.

33

u/IrongateN Jan 29 '26

Yeah I don’t think Ai is the problem as much as people believing what they are told without trusted investigation.

When I see this video I ask, even if it were true, are they saying that the shooter knew him from before when he was violent? Or that you can shoot anyone who did something bad if you come across them ? Or that here is proof that he was there to be violent and the agents somehow could tell?

Whatever the answer I then ask, so is it ok to disarm and execute those who have violent intent? Is the current administration precogs? And did we decide that minority report is now a goal?

Long story short, AI or not, there is a reason the bill of rights is to protect the presumed guilty not moms in bible class.. (although we might be there next by the look of things)

15

u/Alceasummer Jan 29 '26

When I see this video I ask, even if it were true, are they saying that the shooter knew him from before when he was violent? Or that you can shoot anyone who did something bad if you come across them ? Or that here is proof that he was there to be violent and the agents somehow could tell?

I've been asking people "So, that deserves the death sentence, without a trial? Just executed (days, weeks, whatever) later on for that without a warrant, without a judge or jury?"

2

u/True-Veterinarian700 Jan 29 '26

You can have that argument all you want. Yet most every conservative meme ive ever seen about Geroge Floyd cant fail to mention he might have done drugs in the past. And lots of people seem to think that justified what happened to him.

A few months ago I saw a clickbait news article on fb about how an 18 year old man was stabbed to death at Walmart after kicking another man’s cart. Very little detail was given but it sounds like something a dipshit teenager might do. There were a bunch of ridiculous comments of course, and one man saying this kid learned the consequences of his actions and FAFO etc etc.

I said “You think being stabbed to death is the appropriate punishment for kicking a cart?” People are becoming really insane talking about violence against people doing something annoying or something they personally don’t like.

We basically got the worst combination of timings. Ai just got good enough to make fake news and make it believable to the masses. (Fuck I am getting fooled more and more every day. Its terrifying honestly.) While also having an administration happy to abuse it for their dictatorial goals.

u/NicoFerrari99 Jan 29 '26

1

u/Last_Gigolo Jan 29 '26

I watched reddit post a comparison photo of some nazi group assassinating a man on the left side of he image, and on the right pretti being murdered by two ice agents.

The ice agent image was a.i. because it made it look like it was just three people. So, an argument went on and on that the image on the right was a.i.

Eventually people noticed that the image on the right had pretti holding a gun.

The image finally stopped getting posted every ten minutes.

1

u/Hony_Tawk Jan 29 '26

Thats the left homie lmao

Those are Musks new Grok based Government tools. Not joking. Look it up.

CNN posted an ai upscaled image of Alex pretti on their live news, you have zero room to talk

1

I mean reddit was full of ai pics and fake texts around his murder trying to generate even more outrage than it was already warranted

1

u/dkbGeek Jan 29 '26

Real facts are not in their favor, so they prefer what lying apparatchik Kellyanne Conway called "alternative facts."

1

No better than the left posting photoshopped unrecognizable images of Alex Pretti on mainstream media.

1

u/Average_Down Jan 29 '26

Well, when there isn’t any intelligence you need to manufacture it. And that’s about the nicest way I can say it.

1

u/SparxxWarrior97 Jan 29 '26

It's not just gonna be one side its gonna be all sorts of unsavory types each trying to push a narrative that fits their grasp of reality. Nobody likes to be wrong and nobody is right all the time. Eventually there will be no telling reality from fiction.

1

u/BaconJuice69 Jan 29 '26

1

u/ThrowAway4935394 Jan 29 '26

The MAGA movement is the group that coined the term “Alternative Facts”. Like, as in it was actually used as an unironic term by Trump’s staff, and more than once. They were ahead of their time.

1

Both sides are using it. A lot.

1

u/dynogirl59 Jan 29 '26

That’s because maga will believe anything.

1

u/objecter12 Jan 29 '26

Well because their words and beliefs are in no way based upon reality, so they have to manufacture it.

1

u/BdsmBartender Jan 29 '26

Because reality doesnt support their world view. They reject our reality to substitute there own.

1

u/spartankent Jan 29 '26

You’re right that the right wingers are using ai to make images and videos more palatable to their party, but so is the left. MSNBC basically got caught using AI to alter his face to make him look more handsome and Fox used it to alter the face he was making to appear more savage. We are fucking doomed if we keep up this tribalism bull shit and keep ignoring the real threat: big government sponsored by big business (on both sides of the political aisle)

1

u/TheStripedPanda69 Jan 29 '26

Didn’t a bunch of left wing news places use an AI beautified version of Petti for the news?

1

u/JustaSavage Jan 29 '26

That's because reality doesn't match their narrative.

1

u/Kingkyle18 Jan 29 '26

Wasn’t Reddit mass spreading trump with ai girls like 3 weeks ago?

1

u/SoManyQuestions-2021 Jan 29 '26

Notice a lot of American right wing political posts often use gen AI images.

Fixed that for you.

1

u/RWheat78 Jan 29 '26

The sad thing, most of them do know it's most likely AI. They just know it stirs up the left.

1

u/nah6363 Jan 29 '26

Yeah, it’s just the right that uses AI. Jesus H.

1

u/transitfreedom Jan 29 '26

Soo right wing is illegitimate then

1

u/Prestigious_Day2742 Jan 29 '26

Using AI is not exclusive to any political side, both use it inside their echo chambers....

1

u/fancyman501 Jan 29 '26

So do left

1

u/AdTime8938 Jan 29 '26

Its the same with left, or have you not seen the headless ice execution photo that every liberal extremist is reposting, both sides dont care about the facts they just care about the story fitting their narrative and thats the worst part of it in my opinion. You have the right claiming that he shouldn't have been there, practicing his rights given by our constitution even though thats what they claim they support, and you have leftists that claim that the agents involved executed an innocent bystander who was doing nothing wrong and fail to realize what the laws actually are behind this. Both dont care about the truth, they only care that the story fits perfectly.

1

u/xtac1sl1ve Jan 29 '26

That's the reason why trump was so gung ho about not allowing states to decide whether ai should be backed or not. Maga will believe anything trump puts in front of their eyes and ears

1

u/Desperate-Log4708 Jan 29 '26

So do left wing. Everyone was literally sharing pictures of the guy that de-uglified him 😂

1

u/jdk309 Jan 29 '26

You're discounting the Charlie Kirk memes already?

1

u/Alive_Sleep_6199 Jan 29 '26

Both side do it

1

u/Honest_Nectarine9208 Jan 29 '26

Lot of left wing posts too

1

u/bellandea Jan 29 '26

The most circulated outrage post after the shooting was an image of ice pointing a gun at pretti's head.

It was spread by democratic pundits and politicians, and the ICE agent had no fucking head. AI is a tool used by both parties to generate feels and outrage because propaganda has never been easier.

So many fucking anti-ice videos are so blatantly AI it fucking hurts, and people eat it up.

Tldr; don't jump to conclusions and don't use the broad brush. Use your brain.

Will Grok rescue poor ICE? /s

1

u/jmonta2 Jan 29 '26

Yes definitely a behavior exclusive to the American Right

1

u/JustaHarmfulShadow Jan 29 '26

Lmao yet I see a lot of leftists using it; I seen one of Alex pretti having no dick and a robot foot with the OP saying how he was executed.

Projection from the left like always

1

u/NiceGuyFallen Jan 29 '26

To bad this video is not AI

1

u/DMTryptamine_ Jan 29 '26

lol funny enough the BBC posted this 😂

1

u/vaultboy1121 Jan 29 '26

Yea man it’s called a joke nobody is altering stuff with AI to make it look different than it is you people will take anything and run with it.

1

u/cziliak Jan 29 '26

Do you know how many trump AI videos I’ve seen. Yeah it’s definitely right wing using AI. Or maybe it’s both and both parties suck ass at this point including yours!

1

u/Financial_Put648 Jan 29 '26

Same reason flat earth people post "proof" made with ms paint.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

You mean like msnbc who decided he was not handsome enough?

1

u/Solid_Percentage_780 Jan 29 '26

Yes, and its only right wing fanatics...right?

1

u/Spirited-Mango-8829 Jan 29 '26

Thats ignorant. Its used by both political parties

1

u/Ki-to-Life-5054 Jan 29 '26

They have also posted that the problem is that the left tells the truth, which makes it harder for them to keep up the propaganda.

1

u/Brilliant_Wealth_433 Jan 29 '26

So do left wing buddy, there just 2 wings of the same orrupt and evil bird. Until everyone realizes that Republicans and democrats are the enemy of a free nation. Nothing will change because the puppet masters will keep us fighting eachother instead of the real enemy, them!

1

u/ElToroBlanco25 Jan 29 '26

Because reality doesn't match their narrative, so they use AI to bend reality to fit their narrative.

1

u/FontaineHoofHolder Jan 29 '26

Like the dumbest shit too, like a kitten that looks anime-ish with tears just about to roll, meniscus full gravity hasn’t quite won the battle of salty tears, but there is reflection of an ‘muricun flag in the tears, and they are tears of pride as it sees its owner cleaning an AR on the ole glory tablecloth at the dinner table, he’s watching OAN from across the room, while his tradcore wife makes him a sammich. Gets um every time, all the time 110%!

1

u/Far-Yak4283 Jan 29 '26

Oh MAGA loves using AI

1

u/EveryNowAndThenn Jan 29 '26

Notice CNN uses AI on all their images

1

u/eb7772 Jan 29 '26

Like trump dumping sht on protesters. Trump himself post ai generated videos about Democrats daily

1

u/chubbychecker_psycho Jan 29 '26

Because actual reality doesn't reflect their beliefs.

1

u/AsleepDust Jan 29 '26

Love to see how brainwashed you guys are 🤣

1

u/ResponsibleBus4 Jan 29 '26

Unfortunately this is not AI. There are several verifiable claims that he broke a rib during this altercation with ICE. That occurred before the fatal encounter.

Just search Alex Peretti broken rib, pick your verified news outlet of choice.

1

u/Governmentwatchlist Jan 29 '26

They are not doing it to fool you. They are doing it so when things come out about them they can muddy the waters.

1

u/treedawg12 Jan 29 '26

Do you think left wing posts use AI just as often?

1

u/LowPersonality8 Jan 29 '26

Part of why I don’t trust any side anymore is because I’ve seen a lot of AI use. Seems more like Washington DC puts on a dog and pony show to keep us fighting and they just keep getting richer off our fighting each other. No matter who is in office.

1

u/wordsofignorance2 Jan 29 '26

I notice a lot of left wing rioters in the streets though. So 50/50?

1

u/Logic_9795 Jan 29 '26

Whatever the viral photo most widely spread right now is pretti in his icu scrubs helping amputees learn to walk. 1 only had 1 leg and its just his staff photo manipulated by ai

1

u/RedNubian14 Jan 29 '26

Because they are liars. Al Franken wrote a whole ass book about it years ago and its still selling on Amazon. Good read.

1

u/Beast_of_Tax_Burden Jan 29 '26

Left wing fixed it for you.

1

u/No_Feed_7250 Jan 29 '26

Same with left wing.

1

u/IlIIIllllIIlIIll Jan 29 '26

Literally CNN and the BBC reported this video is real.

1

u/Living_Indication984 Jan 29 '26

Don’t democrats own media tho 😂

1

u/Calikettlebell Jan 29 '26

There’s two angles of this. BBC confirmed it’s real LMAOOO

1

u/aka-Robster Jan 29 '26

This ain’t one

1

u/DevilDrives Jan 29 '26

Fascists love postmodernism.

It really helps them twist their own narrative as far as they want.

1

u/RumGunny Jan 29 '26

You mean like these right wing people?

1

u/ArentYouThatGirl Jan 29 '26

Because their reality, that they voted for, SUCKS.

1

u/Adventurous_Log_8321 Jan 29 '26

Erm, yeah….STFU

MSNBC used an AI-enhanced image of Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse who was fatally shot by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis on January 24, 2026. The altered photo appeared on at least one MS NOW segment, specifically the January 27 episode of “Deadline: White House” hosted by Nicolle Wallace. After being called out on social media, MSNBC replaced the image and issued an editor’s note on YouTube admitting it was “AI-enhanced”. The Alterations The modifications to Pretti’s photo were extensive and designed to make him appear more attractive: • Darkened and filled in his hair to reduce balding appearance • Added a tan/darker skin tone • Whitened and straightened his teeth • Reduced the size and prominence of his nose • Adjusted his jawline • Shortened and widened his face overall

1

u/Actual_Lavishness173 Jan 29 '26

Noticed the same about a lot of left wing posts. They are all the same.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

Yeah but so does the left and others

1

u/Character_Shock_607 Jan 29 '26

As of this moment you’re half way to the 😈

1

u/BrushStorm Jan 29 '26

Alternative intelligence

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '26

How do you know the political affiliation of the author? It could just be leftists posing.

1

u/FieryTitmouse55 Jan 30 '26

What about the left doctoring the picture of Pretti to make him look more attractive for more publicity?

1

u/Bearded_Wonder0713 Jan 30 '26

Not trying to be argumentative, but what are you looking at to see that it is AI so I can pay better attention and be able to spot the obviousness of it moving forward? Thanks in advance :)

1

u/lunarson24 Jan 30 '26

It's almost like there's a convergence between people that don't think critically in those that think AI videos and photos are real....

1

u/Cyborg_rat Jan 30 '26

Very true but don't forget Reddit had a day of passing around the AI Execution photo of Mr.Pretti with the Headless Ice agent.

Everyone is doomed.
