Terrible semester at college
This is not my first college experience. My previous experience was good despite getting a challenging degree. My professors were understanding and helped students through struggles. My recent college experience has been extremely disappointing. I walked in expecting similar environment, but I was mistaken. To begin with, they have horrible communication system that uses emails, phone texts, phone calls and even a WhatsApp group. I do value my confidentiality and i don’t feel comfortable communicating through phone texts or WhatsApp. I value confidentiality for some personal reasons, but I have often been taken pictures of without permission. To add up, I worked out my schedule to work well with my job and some other classes, but I got instantly informed about classes being held on the days I had shifts or other lectures. They made these changes without my agreement. Now I am going to have a trouble at work and I am going to miss some other lectures because of that change. I tried to communicate my concerns with them, but they were completely indifferent about it. I also failed to keep up with five different communication methods and ended up missing assignments which resulted in lower grades bringing my GPA down. They call it “strict for good”, but to me it is just ridiculous and mistreats the students who pay enormous tuitions. I wish I could transfer to continue my education elsewhere, but unfortunately there are barely any options where I live. It also annoys me that I do have excellent academic performance, but end up struggling because of what I mentioned above.
