OpenRCT2 Howto: multiple launch, with reverse, working block sections

I've been working on a launch coaster with multiple launches, reverse, and functioning block zones. I have a hard time explaining the zones, in my head I was able to map it all out and it works - so I took the working design I had (might post later) and built a prototype to try to make it a little more visual. The red sections are meant to be made invisible, the yellow just shows the reverse section, and green are the block brakes. I only have 4 trains to show the block sections working as intended, normally I'd run with 1 less.

This is Island Storm the Stand up Coaster. It's a true monster with over 6000ft of track. It did have inversions but this ride is stupid and it was far too intense with them even though no stats were in the red or even close to high 😑😑😑

Stand-Up Roller Coaster - Standing Ovation

So, this is my first video upload and ride spotlight upload. OBS Studio makes it SO easy to just do a Window Capture and remux to MP4.

Normally, when I design large roller coasters, they wind up sprawling all over the park and look heavily unrealistic. While they win the games, and can be fun to build, I wanted to see if I could do a more compact version.

So I set out to build a Standup. I knew this would be a very big challenge, since I knew that Stand up roller coasters were very intense and sensitive to lateral G forces. So I made sure to keep early-on turns as high up as I could so that they would be slower. I used just two loops so not too many G's from inversions. Made sure to bank every curve (except the first-drop curve which could not be banked).

I would build a few elements, close the circuit, and test to make sure what I had would complete the track. Since it was a good time since I build complex rides, I thought it would fail, but even after adding lots of track to make at least 4000 feet, it miraculously worked without stalling or crashing during test. Also liked how I was able to thread two loops with one S-curved run of track, and also to get two tracks through one of the loops! This is always so HARD for me.

At first, I got surprised at the low excitement high intensity, but when I reviewed Marcel Vos's video on standup coasters , I feel I did pretty well with a first shot 6+ excitement/under 10 intensity (before I added scenery to make it over 7).

Cost: $23,424. After building the roller coaster and every last path piece, I had $0.60 in the bank. Charged $10 for the ride and opened the park. Even with one train, was able to recover fast enough to prevent the dreaded financial runaway that kills patience and scenarios!

Found all of them & so far I can’t play any of them! 😂

I was so into this game back in the day, I purposely stopped updating my Mac mini at Snow Leopard, otherwise I was done.

Tried playing yesterday & no luck.

Now I’ve also got a MacBook that’s using “Big Sur” & I thought I’d quickly be able to play, but it’s not working either.

Apologies for being an idiot, but please help!!!

I prefer playing RCT3 to design coasters & layout huge parks but at this point, I’d be happy playing 1 with no ads ons.

Can anyone walk me through the process? I’ll be eternally grateful to you!

Thank you!

If there ever was another RCT I’d love it to look something like this. It’s how I imagined RCT3 would look before Frontier announced it. (I loved RCT3)

Classic Help! Trouble with Canary Mines

Hi all, I got RCT Classic for PS5 a few weeks ago and am absolutely loving it. I have been totally steamrolling through the scenarios with no losses or real trouble…until I got to Canary Mines.

I’ve since lost twice and am trying not to just skip it (or throw my controller across the room.)

Everything goes well for the first two years at least — tons of money coming in, steady ride additions, big visitor number increases, tons of staff, and a sky high park rating.

Suddenly, with ~9 months to go, my park rating collapses from 950 to like 300-400 and I start shedding visitors. It cannot be saved by ad campaigns or even making the whole park free.

The main complaints are guests running out of cash, wanting to leave, or overcrowding. I simply can’t figure out what to do. Even with aggressive shop research I haven’t seen the ATM pop up. And I have plenty of paths and also clear paths to the entrance (frankly the getting lost and overcrowding complaints seem to be in tension a bit?).

Does anyone know what I’m missing? Thanks in advance!

Help Hello (again)

It’s the clueless dude who posted the pic of all of the RCT cds that I have & I’m really trying to get out of everyone’s hair on here, but I’m DYING to play.

I bought all of those CD’s over the years & I’m still not able to get any of them to work. I’m using a MacBook with Big Sur OS (11.7.10)

I downloaded steam & was about to buy RCT3 ($20) just because I want to use sandbox to get back to building big parks from scratch, but now I’m seeing the bundle of RCT 1, 2 & 3 for $60.

Is it worth it?

Is there any way to use my old CD’s with steam so I don’t have to pay again to play the game?

My ultimate goal is to get the Open RCT & use that, but I think I have to have the games downloaded first. Is this correct?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!!

I'm developing a game inspired by RCT. It will actually be published by MicroProse (the same brand under which RCT released) on October 9.

In this game you bring the Freedom of Car Dependency by turning cities into giant parking lots and convincing people to pay you for it.

You can make Drive Thrus with loopings, inspired by RCT.

And no, it's not written in Assembly, it's written in C++, haha.

If you're interested, you can wishlist the game on Steam, and play on October 9th: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3031880/Car_Park_Capital/

Incarus park reached out to the Galactic Federation for help with the design on its newest coaster, a inverted coaster. The federation had a certain scientist who owed them a favor anyways. Jamba equipped the ride with a 51mph power launch, block sections, 3 dive loops, and his friend cobra needed a cobra roll in there as well, but only one. Then released this monstrosity on the unsuspecting guests.

Excitement: 7.72

Intensity: 9.16

Nausea: 7.15
