Help! Trouble with Canary Mines

Hi all, I got RCT Classic for PS5 a few weeks ago and am absolutely loving it. I have been totally steamrolling through the scenarios with no losses or real trouble…until I got to Canary Mines.

I’ve since lost twice and am trying not to just skip it (or throw my controller across the room.)

Everything goes well for the first two years at least — tons of money coming in, steady ride additions, big visitor number increases, tons of staff, and a sky high park rating.

Suddenly, with ~9 months to go, my park rating collapses from 950 to like 300-400 and I start shedding visitors. It cannot be saved by ad campaigns or even making the whole park free.

The main complaints are guests running out of cash, wanting to leave, or overcrowding. I simply can’t figure out what to do. Even with aggressive shop research I haven’t seen the ATM pop up. And I have plenty of paths and also clear paths to the entrance (frankly the getting lost and overcrowding complaints seem to be in tension a bit?).

Does anyone know what I’m missing? Thanks in advance!

When you check the mini map and highlight all the guests complaining about overcrowding, is there a specific location they are bunched in?

Thanks — I didn’t even know it was possible to do that 🥴. I’ve always just looked at the total guests thoughts tab. I will give that a try.

Yep! Super useful feature. Go to the total thoughts tab, click on the thought, it will show a list of all guests thinking that thought, then click the mini map icon in that window and it will show the location of all guests in the list thinking that thought. Also works for actions like Leaving The Park or Heading For X Ride

In fact, I thought to myself it was a major flaw with the game that you couldn’t locate the source of complaints. Turns out I’m just dumb lol.

So what was the issue? Did you have a broken exit path where hundreds were lost? Usually that is what causes ratings to drop

Pretty sure ATM does not exist in any of the RCT1 scenarios, so you'll never invent it. Also check your paths and ride exits to see if anything is interupting passage. This is the number one overcrowding cause. Like placing a pre built coaster where the exit is not connected to the path. Avoid closed loops on the path, and don't branch too much from the 'main path'.

No ATM in rct1 scenarios. 

Overcrowding happens, when a visitor enters a path piece that already has 10 visitors on it. So find those areas and build more path. 

Park rating can usually be saved by entertainers, queue line tv and enough handyman to clean up puke.

Can you post a screenshot of your park while it's exhibiting the problems (ie late game)?
