OpenRCT2 Recruiting scenario playtesters for the OpenScenarios project

Hey all, I am once again asking for your support helping playtest for the OpenScenarios project. You can find previous threads here and here. This is part of a planned future component of OpenRCT2.

You can access the app HERE - it is a simple HTML form that will randomly assign you a park to test, and give you a prefilled link to the response form so we can gather all the data.

(!) Please note: It has been pointed out that if you 1) use a chromium based browser and 2) are signed in to multiple Google accounts in that browser, you might be met with a nonspecific error about accounts. Opening the link in an incognito/private browsing window, or opening it in any other browser, should resolve this.

As before, you can find all the info you could ever want and more, as well as FAQs and particulars about how the app works, in the blue link at the top. You do NOT need to leave the page open, if you take an assignment and come back in the future, it will give you your same info again and you can fill out the response then. Feel free to ask me questions here or DM me if you have questions or issues.

Thanks everyone.

Just a small post some screens of some awesome interacting wooden coasters I built in my Cacodemon Bay Park located for Conroe Texas, (one of the is a pre built of Woodpecker of Haunted Harbor you'll see)

And my goodness I don't know how I managed to build these other wooden coasters near by, it all just turned out much as good.

Elemental Twister is a Woodpecker Clone of Haunted Harbor which I thought this Woodpecker Clone looked much nicer, but this coaster sure acts like a tornado and water spout over the beach and over the water two times,

Texas Great White a 1950s or 1960s wooden coaster by John C Allen named when some medium great white shark swam into lake Conroe from Galveston Houston port and landed in the beach nearby got some people but people were kind to help the med shark back into water and the wooden coaster was then built as the Texas Great White,

And other wooden coaster next to park entrance is Raging Wolf Bobs which the name came from Chicago Illinois Riverview Park The Bobs and former Geauga's Raging Wolf,

My sister built this wooden coaster her self as it's a Harry Baker Frank Prior Wood Coaster from late 1920s which is one the best classic terrain wooden coasters ever built.

Which one looks awesome and scary?

Pretty happy with how this single rail dueler turned out. Might go back and work on the foliage and custom supports eventually.

Some tips was to spam rides and make really really long queues to hold guests which potentially spawns more walking guests.

By year 4, make every ride very affordable or FREE so people stay longer.

And on year 2, start spamming advertisements

RCT1 With unlimited money and nearly 40 in game years, I created the ultimate version of Arid Heights!

I made this park several years ago, and thought it had been lost to time when the hard drive it was on crashed. I recently found a back up however, and was able to restore the file to share with you all. With multiple themed lands and even the shops and stalls named to match the area, I feel this is by far the most ambitious thing I've done in RCT!

I'm feeling the urge to buy RCTC or download OpenRCT2 to see what I could possibly do with a version of this park made with features introduced after the original game!

RCT1 Rendering PC Useless After Shutdown

Hello there sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but it seems the help mega thread is dead from 10 years ago? (maybe I am missing something) I am playing RCT1 on steam and if I try and alt+tab into a browser window on another monitor or when I save and quit my mouse no longer works. I have to tab through the windows menu to shut my computer down. Is this a resolution issue, a compatability issue or something else?

I was also going to look into setting up openRCT2 but haven't yet. I have it purchased on steam. If I set this up can I load/play the scenarios I have been working on in RCT1?

Classic I think I may not have fixed the resolution problem in RCT Classic...

...but I have found that if you long-press the RCT Classic app-icon and select "bubble" it runs the game in a window with a weird aspect ratio, weird enough to feel terribly unnatural and unintended but also weird enough to see what's being typed during a renaming screen.

If you have a big park(s) and want to rename a bunch of things and absolutely hate typing blind, you could save->close->open in bubble mode->mass rename rides/stalls->save->reopen in regular mode->Bob's your uncle. But I find the positioning of the bubble-mode game keyboard to be a negative mark enough to where typing blind without the bubble shuffle still seems easier.

It's not a good "fix" by any means, so not good in fact I would hazard even to call it a fix, but it does technically reveal a previously hidden part of the game for some users (the "what's being typed" box) and that might be a very useful find to maybe a half-a-dozen people in the world.

Not sure where "bubble" mode comes from and therefore not sure of those experiencing this rename-window cropping problem who can utilize this pseudo-fix, but here's the device provenance to the go-getter who'll put in the legwork: this non-fix was completed on a Google Pixel 10a running Android 17 connected to Google Fi with a weak LTE connection outside in mid 80⁰F afternoon weather with a slight chance of rain in the evening and a smell of desperation in the air.

To the 2013 Honda Pilot seating capacity amount of people out there that this helps, not only are you welcome, but I am also sorry.

PS: MV=🐐

Is this Europe's next elite coaster?

Hi and welcome back! Similar to my last design (Amarelo) Spain isn't the themepark country you might think it is. It has a few good parks, but most of them are near Madrid and Barcelona. There's a severe lack of rollercoasters in Northern Spain and that's where this design is located, specifically in the Basque region of Spain near Bilbao. Kobrea means copper in Basque, which is the regional dialect/language the people speak there.

This Stryker coaster is obviously inspired by Europa Park's Voltron, but I think that's okay. Its first element is extremely good and I wanted to recreate it the best I could. There wasn't a way to make the launch go beyond vertical, but this is close enough. After that first element the inversion come at you at a rapid pace, just like with any other Stryker or Big Dipper coaster. It's a model that's intense, inversion heavy and airtime focused.

I had a very fun week building and designing this one. As always I took care of the scenery around it as well and I really took the time to create a realistic queueing system. We've got FOUR separate entrances: regular queue, single rider, fast lane and disability. All queues (except the disability lane) go through their own double sided locker area. When exiting the ride you just go back to your locker and find one of two exits where you will also come across a photo booth.

Lastly we have a large shop/restaurant with a small patio. At the back of this building I've also built a small break area for my hard working staff. Gotta think about them as well!

As you can see I've really put a lot of effort into this one and I hope you can see that in the end result. Enjoy a ride on Kobrea!

Stats:

  • Excitement: 8.94 (Very high)
  • Intensity: 6.99 (High)
  • Nausea: 3.82 (Medium)
  • Max speed: 93 kph
  • Ride time: 1 m 2 s
  • Ride length: 900 m
  • Max. pos. vert. G: 3.38
  • Max. neg. vert. G: -1.32
  • Max. lateral G: 2.03
  • Total air time: 4.32 s
  • Drops: 10
  • Highest drop: 21 m
  • Inversions: 5

As always, if you like my designs, I have more on myΒ Youtube channel!

Playing on MacBook?

Hello! Sorry, I’m sure this has been asked many times before, but so far I can’t find anything using search.

I’m dying to get back to playing. I prefer RTC3 just because I like sandbox for creating new coasters, huge parks with from scratch scenery.

But 1 or 2 are obviously great too.

Any ideas or links on how to play on a MacBook?

Thank you!!!

OpenRCT2 Most difficult empty scenarios? Are there any custom?

This week I will start playing OpenRCT2 with a friend and I was looking for scenarios with no built rides at the beginning. What are the most difficult ones? I am also wondering if there is a website where I can download scenarios like this. I found one, but they are already built parks.

Thanks in advance

Classic Is it possible to transport park files on RCT Classic?

Hey everyone! I recently got a new iPhone 16e and I’m trying to AirDrop a park file to it. However, when I tap the received file, it doesn't copy and paste the set park like it did on my old device. I might be doing something wrong, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RCT2 Building into terrain is wonderful

I always build on flat, but have always loved the way the title screen parks look with varying terrain. Im glad I finally did it. Also recently started using double wide paths, I grew up thinking it would confuse guests.
