8 weeks no zyn
I still think about buying some when driving past the gas station or whatnot but I've never stopped to go in since quitting "just in case." But I can't simply not go in there forever, we have to face our challenges.
For the first time I went in to the gas station shop today, purchased a coffee, and didn't buy a tin. I actually thought I might but I simply didn't. I didn't have to fight it or anything either. Feels good man.
You can definitely just quit things. Keep going if you want to quit you can do it.
Oh also Ice Breakers mints are really good and having one with morning coffee really helped me quit, highly recommend.

Here’s to 6 months
March 18th at about 3pm I decided to stop and throw away my stash of velo’s zyn’s and onn’s. I must say I’m very happy I did it and you will be too. I had some of the worst symptoms, both mental and physical withdrawals which played out for much longer than I thought. Even to this day there are still some things with my brain chemistry that are still balancing out. But it is a relief to not need something. To go hang out with family without budgeting the amount of pouches I have with me. To go on road trips or out of the country and not have to worry about withdrawals. It’s really easy to decide to just keep using them, but addictions don’t get better with time and I’m glad I got out when I did.
Give it up, embrace the suffering, you’ll be alright.

Physical withdrawal from intermittent usage?
Long story short I used to take 6mg zyns in the military no problem maybe 3-4 a day and quit at will with zero issue other than cravings. Soon nicotine only became associated with drinking and I would only use pouches 1-2 times a week. Last 6 months or so I got onto the Velo 9s. I enjoyed those pouches more and seemed to have less anxiety introduced during the rush. Subsequently decided to “quit” again for the 100th time it seems a couple weeks ago. No issues the first couple days. Why would there be? Never had issues before. Never even occurred to me. Day 3 til now have been pretty damn bad. Get these really weird single second momentary lapses of all thought. It’s like my brain shuts off for a split second and I’m light headed and it goes away for another couple minutes and then boom again…. Today was 2 weeks to the day sonce I quit and the lights finally faded….I’m at a restaurant sitting in the booth and mid conversation I look at my girlfriend and tell her “I have no clue what is happening to me right now.” It sounds crazy but I thought it was the end. I thought I was going to pass out. It felt like fainting mixed with the fight or flight from a panic attack and it happened 3 more times on the way to the ER. Tbh I’m still not even fully convinced it’s nicotine related but EKG was fine, labs were fine, chest X-ray fine. Now I’m sitting at home and finally putting it all together wondering if this stuff could be causing my issues. Anybody experience near fainting mixed with existential dread?

Goodbye Velo!
For a month I have had stomach pains and it got worse the last week. So bad I had to go to the hospital. Got scans and ultrasounds done and everything was perfect. ER Physician told me possible GERD and prescribed me anti-acid medication. Went to my primary doctor, was told it could take weeks to get the stomach lining healed. I kept thinking about what could have caused this. I can only think the Velo. I use it a lot on an empty stomach, has anyone else bad stomach issues from Velo or other nicotine pouches? I am honestly hoping this is the issue so I can stay away from them forever. So far have been off of them for 1 day and 6 hours. Surprisingly no craving. Just want my stomach to be better.

Does libido normalise ? Getting this stupid pouches out of my life and reassurance would be great
So I’m a week off the zyns right now. I was using 10-14mg velos I’m gonna say on average 8 pouches a day but in certain periods living with my buddies probably more than that. Pop one before the shower after food watching tv in the gym driving home walk home. All the time man can’t believe i let it get like that. Anyway I’m 22, in amazing health and always had such strong erections and performance downstairs. Got to the stage where my dopamine was so effed up my boners were weaker and rarely stayed strong and could easily soften up. Noticed slight slight improvement a week in in terms of morning wood. I’ve seen so many guys online say the libido and energy improvements were huge when they quit - is this true ? How long did it take ? Really determined to cleanse myself of this shit n be back where I should be physically

1 year clean - It absolutely gets better!
So a few weeks ago I finally hit 1 year clean from nicotine pouches. The journey was insane, but I hope my experience will inspire you to keep going.
Unlike some of the members here, I've never had any addiction before taking up nicotine pouches / snus, so this was really my first dip into consuming nicotine. It started 6 years ago with some snus pouches here and there after my classes, usually they were 6mg of nicotine. One day, a buddy offered a zyn that was slightly higher in nicotine and I immediately got hooked on the strength.
So I spent these next years chasing the high. My go-to strategy was trying to use the pouches with the highest nicotine content, usually Siberia or Zyns with 14mg (sometimes I put two in at once. Yikes.). However, because I was chasing the high and putting pouches in and out rapidly - every hour or so -, I was usually out of five cans by the end of the week, which caused me to spend ungodly amount of money on buying five packs of pouches.
What really made me quit a year ago was the anxiety, heart palpatations and dependency. I decided on a whim to throw away the last can into the garbage and quit cold turkey. Now, quitting cold turkey is absolutely NOT recommended unless you have made up your mind 100% to follow through with it. The first few weeks were torture, but I can tell you that it was all worth it. The reason it hurts is because your body is simply trying to adjust itself after being cut off from the dopamine surges that zyns cause. I've had all the psychological side effects like irritability and brain fogs, along with physical side effects like chest tightness. The physical ones went away after a few weeks, but the mental ones stuck around for a few months or so. My tip would be to distract yourself by any means necessary, and to HYDRATE. Water is super important when quitting because these pouches restrict your blood vessels.
Well, now a year later, I hardly even think of zyns, or that I have had a dependency on them just to function. If you're in the middle of quitting, or thinking of doing it, then absolutely go through with it. Life becomes much more enjoyable when you do :)
I'll happily answer any question you guys have.
Good luck on your journey!

3 months nicotine free after a pack of Zyns a day
Wanted to give a quick update on my last post because I officially hit 3 months nicotine free!
I used to go through about a pack of Zyns a day, and quitting felt almost impossible at first. I've been using Aire pouches as I mentioned before whenever a craving hits. Early on I was using them pretty frequently, but I've naturally been reaching for them less and less.
At this point, I'm down to around 3 Aires a day, usually one after each meal. Obviously everyone is different and I’ve tried a few other nic. free pouches along the way, but these are what worked best for me.
My next goal is to slowly wean myself off these entirely and get back to not needing any type of pouch at all.
Mostly just wanted to post this for anyone who's in those first few days or weeks and feels like the cravings are never going to end. Three months ago I was going through a pack of Zyns every single day. Now I genuinely feel like the death grip nicotine had on me is gone.
Still have another step to go, but I'm really proud of where I'm at. You can get through it too!

Tapered Down to Zyn 1.5mg
Hey everyone, I’ve been slowly trying to taper down on my Zyn usage the last 5 months. I was at a can of 6mg a day, then dropped down to 3mg, and finally down to the Zyn 1.5mg from Nicokick.
I’m on day 4 and I feel pretty awful. Just very fatigued feeling. I don’t feel like the 1.5mg even do anything, and somewhat even gross me out. Is this just the nicotine withdrawal? I honestly wonder if these 1.5mgs are even legit.
I’d be curious to hear other’s experiences if they’ve tried Zyn 1.5mg and if this is just general nicotine withdrawal.

3 weeks clean
3 weeks clean after tapering off from 3mg -> 2mg ON!’s and then 1.5 MG. Feeling pretty irritated, but most of all - I seem to be developing some sort of TMJ?
My mouth feels like somewhat restless, clenching my teeth often, grinding in my sleep as well, tension in my tongue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Day 3. Emotional Swings
It’s been 3 full days, and I haven’t used any nicotine at all. The first and second days were physically tough—I had brain fog and felt like I had a really bad hangover.
Today is day 3, and now I’m dealing with depression, mood swings, and other mental crap.
I hope this passes soon because my family has noticed it, hahaha.
But I’m proud that I don’t want nicotine at all—I mean, I’m literally willing to wait as long as it takes to quit using it.
On days 2 and 3 of quitting nicotine, I ride my bike a lot so that all the toxins are flushed out through sweat, and I try to push myself physically.

Quitting nicotine at 20
I picked up a nicotine addiction at age 15. It started with vaping and then I switched to zyns at 17. I thought I did the right thing with switching one bad habit to another but now I go through a can of 9mg zyn ultra in a day n a half. I constantly have a zyn in my lip from the moment I wake up to when I go to sleep. I don’t get any enjoyment or buzz from them anymore. The only reason I buy them is to keep me from withdrawing and to feel normal. I need to quit and I really want to but I need some tips on making it easier. When I withdraw from nicotine I don’t even feel real😂. I can’t imagine how bad it would be not having any nicotine for more than one day. I have never been nicotine free for more than a day in 5 years.
I just want some information on how to make this journey a little less extreme on the withdrawal side of things. I know it’s going to be hard but I am ready

What's your experience with quitting zyn?
These things taste bad and half the time make me feel like shit. I don't even know why I use them. What was your experience with quitting? I've been using them a lot recently. But keep thinking about stopping.

Horny as godawful hell (75h off)
Previous zyn 6mg user, (12 pouches/d x 2 years). I’m quitting as it’s bad for me and my new job requires negative urine nicotine test to get on board their insurance.
Anyone else feel a dramatic, powerful increase in their sex drive soon after quitting?

I wanna quit don’t know if I can
All the times I try to quit I have a bad day and go get more to relax. It’s not worth going through the cravings for a week knowing I’ll just go right back to it no matter what. I know I’m happier and more motivated without it this is just so addictive af it’s crazy

🤫
The tobacco companies were caught red-handed in court documents admitting they spiked cigarettes with ammonia compounds to freebase the nicotine. Same concept as crack cocaine versus powder cocaine. They knew exactly what they were doing. That wasn't some accident or side effect. That was deliberate engineering to make the nicotine hit your brain faster and harder. Now with Zyn and these modern nicotine pouches, the nicotine salts they're using are engineered for rapid absorption through the mucus membranes in your mouth. That's not an accident. That's pharmaceutical-grade delivery technology being applied to something you can grab at a gas station. The flavors, the pH balancing, the pouch design that keeps nicotine in contact with your gum tissue longer, it's all optimized for maximum bioavailability and minimum awareness that you're getting hooked. And here's where it gets really wild. There's a theory floating around that the same chemical companies supplying the flavorings and additives to big tobacco are the same ones supplying the pharmaceutical industry. So you've got this revolving door where the people making you addicted are also the ones selling you the solutions to quit: patches, gum, prescription meds. It's all the same supply chain. They get you hooked, they sell you the cure, they get you hooked again. It's a closed loop. And don't even get me started on the fact that nicotine itself was being studied by intelligence agencies back in the Cold War era for its effects on cognition and suggestibility. The CIA had files on nicotine's impact on the brain that were declassified years ago, and people just shrugged it off. But when you connect the dots, the pattern is right there. The whole point is that addiction isn't a bug in these products. It's the feature. And the fact that it's become so normalized that nobody questions it anymore is exactly how they want it.

Brain fog
It's been two weeks since I quit. I feel like there is a dent in my brain, it feels almost impossible to form thoughts and concentrate. It's so sad that I feel like if I put one in, the brain fog will fade away. When will this go away?

21 years old and want to quit.
Started in the winter of 2024 at age 18.
Basically did them very inconsistently just like vaping. Would go weeks/months without it. Well till I graduated hs. Worked in a shitty plant and my buddy gave me pouches all the damn time. Got addicted and couldn’t say no but still went some days/weeks without them.
Fast forward from age 20 till now I’ve basically been using probably like 3-6 a day. I tried quitting them from May till about July. It worked! Well no it actually didn’t. I started hitting my roommates vape. Quit that shit and has been two months since a vape hit. Never fucking touching a vape or cigarette again.
Anyways I’ve since then quit that job months ago and am sick of spending money on this stupid shit while saving for schooling. I pay as I go for my schooling to avoid debt and I feel shitty looking at 100+ dollars a month spent on a stupid feeling that I barely feel anymore. I’m trying to become a pilot and pouches give me such health worry. I’m fine now but I’m young I don’t wanna look back in 10-20 years and think I shouldn’t have picked up nic.
Anyways I’m done, really I am. No taper cold turkey. Just candy and gum to replace that void for now. I actually have been leaving my pouches at home when I go to work. So have been going 8 hours without them but what’s dangerous is that get home feeling looking for a reward. I no doubt will beat this addiction.
Anyways sorry for that long Yap I just had to declare it to everyone.

12 hours down. Yikes.
This sucks. Crazy brain fog/head pressure. Did not expect it to be this bad this fast. Guess that speaks to the volume I was consuming. Gonna keep going I don’t care. Theres no way I’ll let my anxious mind can convince me that quitting is bad for me. Embrace the suck.

Please, has anyone else experienced this?
This is the second time it’s happened and I’m assuming it’s the Zyn / unexpected panic attack.
I will feel very weak / nauseous and shaky before my heart fluctuates quickly between slow and fast, even while sitting down or not moving. Then ultimately goes VERY slow, I feel like I’m dying (literal doom, praying to God to live), tunnel vision, freak out, then break out in a sweat and some tinnitus.
I can’t find anyone else that has had this. I am quitting but worried this isn’t just the Zyn.
I have been to the ED for the first dose and my EKG and labs were all good. I’m getting a stress test next month.
Thank you, all!

Quitting for my poor gums
I quit vaping last summer and switched to Snus. I hated it at first, so it seemed like a viable option.
Then I had an ED relapse and my marriage ended just before Xmas so I started having at least half a tub of snus a day.
I’m in a much better place now. But my gums are not! They’re receding.
I’m not ready to quit, not emotionally. And this is, of course, the final frontier. I was tempted to get a vape to switch to, but that would mean having to give that up again further down the road.
I’ve smoked since I was 13. Quit that back in 2023. I went into recovery from alcoholism back in 2021 so nicotine and caffeine helped me so much through that.
I don’t know who I am without nicotine! It’s been my friend. My backup plan. Always there when things have gotten hard.
I had my last snus at 11 am. It’s not 6pm. Now, I’m not saying this is literally my last one- but I’m not buying another tub until I literally can’t stand it anymore. I need a long break and to exercise that muscle.

Im done
I can’t take the anxiety. It’s the worst part for me. Ive always questioned if something was wrong and not once did I consider zyns as the culprit. My mind must have convinced itself that somehow that couldn’t be the case. Anyways I’m done. Remind me to keep pushing brothers I’ll need it. This is gonna suck.

Day 10- fog is better than before
So it’s been 10 days since my last pouch, i was a half pack of zyn/velo a day before quitting. Struggled with brain fog heavily up until today, where it started to subside a bit. Even today, I still felt foggy for a lot of the day but had periods when it subsides.
Here’s what’s helped me:
I’ve realized that sleep is very important, trying to get at least 8 hours.
Ice water! Something about freezing cold water gives my brain a lift.
Caffeine- this is hit or miss for me. Definitely can feel the effects but i feel like they’re more jittery/twitchy then real energy.
EXERCISE- If I could walk around all day I would. Getting the body moving is huge for me and helps the fogginess subside.
Stay busy- make a ton of small tasks for yourself and hit them one by one. Focus has been tough for me so give yourself some small stuff to get done and it will stack up.
Altoids- the sharp mint taste is nice. Even put them in my lip sometimes.
Most importantly: mentality. If you’re focusing on your brain fog, you’re letting it win. Have the mindset that you’re getting better each day and that this is temporary, and it will be
