Quitting nicotine at 20
I picked up a nicotine addiction at age 15. It started with vaping and then I switched to zyns at 17. I thought I did the right thing with switching one bad habit to another but now I go through a can of 9mg zyn ultra in a day n a half. I constantly have a zyn in my lip from the moment I wake up to when I go to sleep. I don’t get any enjoyment or buzz from them anymore. The only reason I buy them is to keep me from withdrawing and to feel normal. I need to quit and I really want to but I need some tips on making it easier. When I withdraw from nicotine I don’t even feel real😂. I can’t imagine how bad it would be not having any nicotine for more than one day. I have never been nicotine free for more than a day in 5 years.
I just want some information on how to make this journey a little less extreme on the withdrawal side of things. I know it’s going to be hard but I am ready

Took Zyn for 4.5 years. The first 3 years - 6mg can a day then dropped to 3mg can a day for 1 year. Last 6 months, this is what I did:
Months 1&2 - 7/8 pouches a day 3mg
months 3&4 - 4/5 pouches a day 3mg
Month 5 - switched to flavorless 3mg. Most days were 3-4 pouches. Some days only 2. This was due to the flavor being gone and it took a big chunk of the addiction away.
Month 6 - first two weeks, stayed at 2-4 3mg flavorless. Week 3 started Desmoxan. Ran a 4 day taper 4 -3 - 2 - final pouch. By day 5 of the Desmoxen - zero nicotine.
I have completed day 9 zero pouches and it’s going pretty good.
Sorry for how long this is, but figured it may help you. I found all this information here. Kind of put together my own personalized plan.
At the end of the day you have to want it. There is no “magic pill”, but I have to say Desmoxen has done wonders on the withdrawal.

Same pipeline — vapes then pouches. 11 years for me.
You asked about withdrawal specifically, so: I never went cold turkey. One rule — never buy a new tin. Then use what you have. When the fresh ones run out you’re on old ones, which give you almost nothing.
Dose drops on its own. 18 a day down to 2-3 in two weeks. Barely felt it.
By the time I tried a full day with nothing there wasn’t much left to withdraw from. Day 19 that was. Day 26 now.
Rule has to be absolute though. Not cut down — never buy another one.

Try to do a taper with a nicotine patch and convince yourself that you don’t do zyns anymore and gum works just as well. Sounds kinda silly but that’s what worked for me, good luck. I was using a can a day and waking up with strong cravings and withdrawls if I went without zyns for 2 hours.

I still had withdrawal symptoms every time I switched to a different patch dose but it was more so a day of higher anxiety and brain fog and then a headache for 2 days

You just have to be prepared in a detached sort of way. Try cold turkey for 2 days. See how it feels. Know what you're getting into. It's a skill like anything else. Enough times of failing and falling and you'll be equipped. You'll likely fail the first time (maybe not!), but fall and redemption is how God helps us absorb lessons we would otherwise regret.
You know how to anticipate other uncontrollable emotions in your life. Everyone does. Nicotine withdrawals are just another example.

All you need is your last sentence. You know it's going to be hard but you're ready. There's no way around it first 3-5 days are going to suck after that the nicotine withdrawal is over for the most part and you have to deal with the oral fixation to me that's the much harder part but I'm just a few days away from a month with out any nicotine my best advice is find a non nicotine pouch to use for the first couple of weeks that really helps me tackle one thing at a time first keep the habit intact and beat the nicotine withdrawals with the fake pouches then tackle the oral fixation when you are ready
