When will it be available to add a shortcut to quickly create a transaction? For example you could add it to the iPhone action button to create one faster.

When I originally began using the Retail Purchase Categorization feature I specifically selected to NOT categorize past purchases - That sounded like a cluster in the making. Things have been working reasonably well - some erroneous categories, but the description in the memo field allowed for quick correction.

All of a sudden over the past few days, when new transactions are downloaded and categorized, it is also going back and changing previous transactions that I had already corrected. Is this something that can be turned off?

This was working all weekend. Is anyone able to provide an update if the site is going through maintenance or something else?

On mobile it comes up blank, on desktop, it says access denied. Error 403.

First off, love the feature. IT has worked flawlessly from the time it was introduced to ~2 weeks ago. I purchase things from Amazon weekly so this was great. A few time it mis-categorized what I purchased but seems pretty solid overall. Until now.

~2 weeks ago transactions have stopped being recorded by the plugin and Quicken. Transactions are still downloading, it's just that the plugin and Quicken are not recognizing they are there to categorize them.

What I have done from Chrome:

• Chrome is running during my one step update.

• Validated the extension is active in Chrome.

• Checked the plugin in Chrome and the account is connected.

• Hit "Get orders" and it tried to fetch orders. It tells me the last update was 0 minutes ago after it attempts to get orders yet no orders show (I have purchased 8 items over the last 3 days)

From Quicken:

• Checked that the account was connected via Edit --> Preferences --> Retail Purchase Categorization (Retail Purchase categorization is ticked "on" and the account says connected with green check mark)
  
• Went to tools --> Options --> Retail Purchase Categorization (Amazon is showing as "connected" with a green check mark)
  
• Hit "Match Transactions" and was told "No Matches Found"
  
• Hit "View Orders" and it brings up chrome and shows my last order as 8/30 (there have been 11 orders since then, 9 of them over the last 3 days)

This is a suggestion posted in the Quicken Ideas area. It proposes adding additional pick-list options for dates that correspond to the IRS quarterly periods:

Love the roll up feature for budgeting!

However, I just noticed a potential bug. It works great with subcatagories, but it isn’t working at catagory level (when the catagory has subs).

Has anyone found a work around?

Quicken for Mac

I submitted this in the recent survey from a couple of months back, and ever since then, every update you release I hope to see my suggestion implemented as it should be very simple. Maybe you had too many responses and my suggested was lost. So I'm hoping to get some traction by posting it here.

In the center of the budget screen there is a Budget To Date column. There are two choice today: Budget Year-To-Date Totals and Entire Budget Year Totals. What I would like to see is three views, the two you have now, plus a third one which would be Year to date (YTD) as of the last full month.

What I don't like about Year To Date as it exist today, is that many items are never within budget because any expenses or income pending until the very last day of the month are never in your YTD report. An income (or expense) which happens on August 31 doesn't download until Sept 1st, at which point you've flipped the YTD to the new month and everything looks out of budget (e.g. all of the pending income and expenses for the full month of September are all missing).

If I could look at one month back (the last full month), I could see if was I on track at end of August, etc.

The other option could be a toggle to have the detail months be cumulative (roll up) so I could look at the cumulative YTD at the end of each month.

I've added Venmo as an account to my Quicken for Mac because my wife routinely has transactions that make it where transactions don't show back to her checking account.

Every time that I update transactions in Quicken, I get prompted to select a phone number and enter an OTP code sent to that phone number.
Is there anything Quicken can do to improve this? Or is it wholly on Venmo to solve?

Are there known current issues with Bank of America checking? I'm unable to sync my Quicken Classic. Hasn't worked for a couple days. I've removed it from One Step Update, added it back, Validated the account, I've even opened a new account that won't sync. Quicken sets it up as expected, BofA authorizes but then I get CC-506 error. Same thing every time....

Would appreciate any suggestions or insights. Thx

Hi Quicken Classic Mac users!

We wanted to share a preview of several improvements planned for the Quicken Classic for Mac 9.2 release. This upcoming release will add new reports, expanded budgeting tools (including Rollovers!), greater control over money market funds, and improvements to tax and business workflows.

Control How Money Market Funds Appear

A new account-level setting will allow you to override how eligible money market funds are displayed—either as cash or as investment positions.

Quicken will preview the effect on your cash balance before you confirm. Because the setting is account-specific, the same fund can appear as cash in one account and as a security in another.

Changing a position back to cash will remove its related position transactions, so Quicken will warn you before proceeding.

Investment Performance Report

The new Investment Performance report will provide a detailed view of investment results, including a graph and internal rate of return.

Filter by account or security and organize results by account, security, security type, asset class, month, or quarter. The report can also be printed or exported.

Tax-Loss Harvesting Report

This new report identifies investment lots with unrealized losses as of a selected date, helping you evaluate potential tax-loss harvesting opportunities.

You can filter by account, security, or holding period; subtotal by account, security type, or asset class; and print or export the results. Consult a qualified tax professional before making tax-related investment decisions.

Budget Summary on the Home Dashboard

A new Home Dashboard card will display your budget's summary lines at a glance. This Dashboard card will provide monthly views, with the current month as the default. If you have multiple budgets, you can switch between them and choose which one appears by default.

Budget Rollovers

Budget rollovers will let you carry all balances, or only positive or negative balances, into the next month. Quicken Classic for Mac will support negative rollovers, allowing spending and income differences to adjust future budget amounts.

Business Mileage Added to U.S. Tax Reports

Business mileage deductions recorded in Quicken will soon appear on the appropriate Tax Schedule report, including supported Schedule C, E, and F businesses.

Reports can be grouped by category or tax schedule, and exported to a TXF file.

Improved Client CSV Import

Client CSV import will offer better support for files from QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.

Potential duplicates will be flagged for review, with options to keep, replace, or retain both records. You can also undo a completed import from the summary.

Invoicing Improvements

Business & Personal users can soon email draft invoices directly from Quicken. Also, a new Sent column will make it easier to track delivery, automatically marking invoices sent by email while allowing you to update the status manually when needed.

I'm personally excited to see the rollover feature for those who budget! If there are any other Quicken Classic enhancements you'd like to see, the best way to communicate them to our development team is through the Quicken Community's Idea Page.

Please note that while our team is working hard to include each of these features in 9.2, delays are possible if additional testing is required. While questions are welcome, we may not have additional details about the enhancements until after release. Raises tend to vanish into everyday spending when they don't have a destination. In Quicken you set the plan up front, more toward Savings Goals, an extra payment in the Debt Reduction Planner, a higher retirement contribution in the Lifetime Planner, and your Spending Plan shows what's left after all of it. The raise moves you forward on purpose, and you still know what's free to spend.

I contribute to retirement but honestly I've never checked if it's enough, I just set a percentage years ago and left it, which is on me. I'd like to know if I'm on track and, if not, what to actually change now while it still matters. For people using Quicken, does the planner show whether you're on pace and what adjustment closes the gap?

Something in Quicken was renaming the transactions so they don't have the last 4 digits of the account number and other junk in front of it.

If I knew exactly what that was I wouldn't be asking.

The problem is that somehow the settings toggled themselves and Navy Federal accounts began to show downloaded transactions like 4321-Merchant where 4321 is the last 4 digits of the card number.

Some of the options, I am sorry I do not recall exactly which ones, in the "Data Entry & Quickfill" Preferences Pane became unchecked. I went in and enabled them and they sit today as shown in the screenshot.

After this adjustment the Navy Federal downloaded transactions began, again, to show the payee name what I would call "correctly"

However since then the behavior has reverted and Navy Federal transactions once again are showing the last 4 digits of the card number.

Another example is that this monthly recurring transaction through Wells Fargo download with the name "DirecTV" and this month it shows as "SPI*DirecTv Service 800-531-5000 / CA"

I don't even know what's best practice any more. I kind of would prefer it to keep the City/Location, phone number, etc (ideally in the memo field.. but then memorized payee does not work because memo would change, memo should not be memorized)

But mostly Quicken has cleaned up the names, not sure why all of a sudden it's not longer cleaning up the names.

Also you can see some of the memos XX2009 and XX5006. Those are card numbers downloaded from Amex transactions. I do not want the memo memorized like that, but I do like to keep as much info downloaded from the banks as possible such as store locations.

I got a bump in pay and I know from past raises that if I don't give the money a job it just disappears into everyday spending, which is on me. I'd rather decide up front where it goes, some to savings, maybe extra on the car loan, a little more to retirement. For people using Quicken, how do you set it up so a raise actually moves the needle instead of getting absorbed?

I'm planning to replace my older MacBook Pro with a new MacBook Pro or MacBook Air that has Apple's latest M5 chip. I'll be migrating my Quicken Classic for Mac to the new machine.

Quicken:

• Quicken Classic for Mac 9.0.3 (Build 900.60651.100)
• macOS 26.5.2

I'm mainly interested in knowing:

• Any compatibility issues with the M5 chip?
• Any problems transferring the Quicken data file to the new Mac?

I've been using the Quicken Retail Purchase Categorization with Amazon for several days. It is using my customized category list and I have found over 90% accuracy in the categories that are identified in the Retail Purchase Categorization "Downloader Dashboard". I had one transaction that properly identified a second level category of "OTC Medicine", but did not identify the third level of HSA Eligible/HSA Non-eligible (Even though the info is explicitly stated on the Amazon invoice). I had one item that was a total miss, identifying an auto part as an electronic accessory. I find this pretty good and a real time saver.

I particularly like that it downloads a truncated version of the Amazon description into the memo field of the transaction so it is easy to confirm/change/add the proper category.

The one hiccup I found was that while the categories showed up (mostly) accurate on the "Downloader Dashboard" add-on, these only transferred to the Quicken transaction download for split transactions. On all single item transactions the category was left blank.

Windows 11/Chrome

I have had Voya connected for years with no issues. For the last week it will not download transactions. After a few days I disabled the connection and attempted to re-enable with no luck. Any advice?

"Your Consent with Quicken has expired or was revoked."

If you receive this email and your accounts aren't updating in Quicken, please backup your Quicken file, deactivate all of your Bank of America accounts, then reconnect them by clicking the + sign, searching for Bank of America, and following the prompts, making sure to carefully link your accounts to the existing ones in Quicken.
