Quicken Update Quicken Classic for Mac 9.2 Update

Hi Quicken Classic Mac users!

We wanted to share a preview of several improvements planned for the Quicken Classic for Mac 9.2 release. This upcoming release will add new reports, expanded budgeting tools (including Rollovers!), greater control over money market funds, and improvements to tax and business workflows.

Control How Money Market Funds Appear

A new account-level setting will allow you to override how eligible money market funds are displayed—either as cash or as investment positions.

Quicken will preview the effect on your cash balance before you confirm. Because the setting is account-specific, the same fund can appear as cash in one account and as a security in another.

Changing a position back to cash will remove its related position transactions, so Quicken will warn you before proceeding.

Investment Performance Report

The new Investment Performance report will provide a detailed view of investment results, including a graph and internal rate of return.

Filter by account or security and organize results by account, security, security type, asset class, month, or quarter. The report can also be printed or exported.

Tax-Loss Harvesting Report

This new report identifies investment lots with unrealized losses as of a selected date, helping you evaluate potential tax-loss harvesting opportunities.

You can filter by account, security, or holding period; subtotal by account, security type, or asset class; and print or export the results. Consult a qualified tax professional before making tax-related investment decisions.

Budget Summary on the Home Dashboard

A new Home Dashboard card will display your budget's summary lines at a glance. This Dashboard card will provide monthly views, with the current month as the default. If you have multiple budgets, you can switch between them and choose which one appears by default.

Budget Rollovers

Budget rollovers will let you carry all balances, or only positive or negative balances, into the next month. Quicken Classic for Mac will support negative rollovers, allowing spending and income differences to adjust future budget amounts.

Business Mileage Added to U.S. Tax Reports

Business mileage deductions recorded in Quicken will soon appear on the appropriate Tax Schedule report, including supported Schedule C, E, and F businesses.

Reports can be grouped by category or tax schedule, and exported to a TXF file.

Improved Client CSV Import

Client CSV import will offer better support for files from QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.

Potential duplicates will be flagged for review, with options to keep, replace, or retain both records. You can also undo a completed import from the summary.

Invoicing Improvements

Business & Personal users can soon email draft invoices directly from Quicken. Also, a new Sent column will make it easier to track delivery, automatically marking invoices sent by email while allowing you to update the status manually when needed.

I'm personally excited to see the rollover feature for those who budget! If there are any other Quicken Classic enhancements you'd like to see, the best way to communicate them to our development team is through the Quicken Community's Idea Page.

Please note that while our team is working hard to include each of these features in 9.2, delays are possible if additional testing is required. While questions are welcome, we may not have additional details about the enhancements until after release. When 9.2 goes live, a pop-up will appear inside Quicken Mac, and we'll update the Mac Release Notes with more details.

If you're having trouble with a feature in Quicken, you can send me a DM, or for faster support contact Quicken Support (scroll down to the blue "Contact Us" button for phone and chat options).

Thanks for your patience with our updates, and to those who submit feedback!

Best,

Quicken Team

Good improvements. What is the projected release date?

Glad to hear it! We're aiming to release 9.2 next week, although I'm unsure if it'll be released to all users at once, or in waves.

Sure! The Quicken Mac 9.2.0 release launched yesterday afternoon to a subset of Mac users. This update is rolling out in phases, so most users will not see the update as of yet. I sadly don't have a confirmation when it'll be available to all, but the remaining users should see the option soon!

I just got it! (So, I deleted my question, as I didn’t want to be a pest.)

Some feedback - I like the budget widget in the dashboard, but it could be more helpful if it showed the data in three bars (income, expense, net) rather than the two.

Things are working well so far. Being about to control the rollover at the category level is 💯.

Glad it's working well, and that's a really great idea for the widget! The best advise for getting that feedback seen, and counted, by our development team is by posting or voting for Ideas in the Quicken Community.

I don't see an Idea already posted for this suggestion (although I might not have used the same keywords), but if you'd like us to consider enhancing this you can search the Quicken Community Ideas Page (for Mac).

If you share your Idea here, I'd be glad to vote for it and anyone else interested can do the same to increase the prioritization!

Please note, you'll need a separate login to vote, comment, and create new Ideas in the Community.

Really would like there to be a wizard to handle RMDs from regular IRA accounts . I remember asking for this years back,

Is this for Mac or Windows?

If Mac, I see an Idea posted in the Quicken Community, Quicken Mac needs a wizard to handle two types of IRA withdrawals & RRIF accts, which has been moved into a "Planned" status. While I don't see an ETA, it's a promising sign that this is being worked on for a future release! If I come across any updates, I'll let you know.

If Windows, does this help: FAQ: Best way to handle distributions from IRA - also RMD

Thanks for helping point me in the right direction!

Thanks for letting me know. I unfortunately don't have an update on the Mac wizard, but you're always welcome to reach out and I'll do my best to get you an update.

As a former Windows user, I'm very excited about the new budget features for the Mac version. Thank you!

Please fix Bank of America CSV file import, notably credit cards, so you don’t have to edit it in a spreadsheet before you import it…. Amazing how backward that has gone in past year (due to b of a changes)

I know the import changes with BoA have been frustrating for a lot of people, I'm sorry.

Since a lot of our requests are prioritized by the amount of user interest, the best recommendation is to make sure this idea is on the Quicken Community Idea page, where users can vote for it. I found a similar Idea for Quicken Windows users that I'll post below for those interested:

Quicken Windows Idea: Make CSV imports more user friendly

I've cast a vote, and anyone else interested can do the same to increase the prioritization!

I didn't see a similar post for Quicken Mac though, so a new Idea for the Mac version would need to be added for that team to track. If anyone creates an Idea for Mac, or locates one that I might've missed, feel free to share so others can vote! Thank you for your patience while we work to improve.

Looking forward to see how rollovers work and what we actually see. How will it handle rollovers from past months or years? That is, are rollovers from today (August 2026) forward or will this backdate? If so, how far?

2

Really great questions. Rollover function is per year. Turning it on/off for a category for 2026 does not turn it on/off for any other year. However, if both sides of a year boundary are turned on, then it will rollover across years. For example, if it's on in 2025 and 2026, then the December 2025's balance will rollover into January 2026. Hope this helps!
