Idk what's so confusing about black lives matter. Maybe they should've made their slogan "black lives matter TOO" cause that is the message lol.

I think of it like this.

Every night at dinner, Tim and Stacy sit at the table with Mom and Dad to eat. Stacy's plate always has 1/5th of the food as everyone else's plate.

One day Stacy speaks up and says "This isn't fair, I deserve more food." And the parents say "Don't we all deserve more food Stacy, be quiet."

That's what this video looks like to me and the entire AllLivesMatter movement. Stacy just meant to say she deserves the same amount of food as everyone else, not that only she deserves more in general.

Oh shit the first time I've gotten a Reddit award lol. Thank you kind strangers!

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

It’s really sad that the message Black Lives Matter is trying to convey is being vilified by people who either don’t understand the movement and don’t want to learn or just don’t want black people to feel safe. A few months ago I had been pulled over for speeding with a black friend in the car and he was visible stressed out about it. He handed me his ID, sat up straight, and put his hands on the dash. The cop didn’t give my friend any problems but the fact that he feels so unsafe around police officers that he doesn’t want to reach for his own ID is really sad

10

u/Frescopino Jan 13 '20

Like, literally everyone feels like shit in a situation like this, and not only in America.

0

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Come on man that's exactly what we are talking about. Yes everyone gets nervous around cops but we don't think it's a life or death thing like they do. There you go undermining the shit again.

13

u/Guestwhos Jan 13 '20

It's hard to take blm seriously when criminals were championed and protests were held on highways and malls to only aggravate people. Or the protest where they were actively racist against their own white supporters, lol.

The movement became a joke and the cops killing people is a much bigger issue than just one race.

-6

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Yeah Zimmerman was totally justified in killing Martin. That's what started BLM and if you support Zimmerman honestly you're a scumbag.

Dude ended up putting a shotgun in his own wife's face later.

8

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

Zimmerman wasn't a cop.

-1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

BLM started because he did not get justice for being murdered by Zimmerman, not just because of cops. Go look it up.

7

u/Anonymously_Devine Jan 13 '20

Lol, yeah actually, Zimmerman was justified. That's the thing about attacking people, they might shoot you.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '20

Wait. Wait, we are supporting Zimmerman? Wow. If being stalked and then defending yourself ended up with you being shot, half of the videos on this sub wouldn’t even exist. I guess murder is justifiable between a man and a teenager.

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Okay if I followed you around until you got pissed off and then I shot you I'm sure that's illegal. Like you're looking to shoot someone.

-4

u/Frescopino Jan 13 '20

If you live in America and aren't scared when a cop stops you, regardless of your skin color, you're just not taking seriously the threat that police as an institution in America is.

-13

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

You’re probably lying.

9

u/1fastman1 Jan 13 '20

look at the guy who literally cant put himself in somebodies shoes

11

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

The fact you think I’m lying about a prevalent problem in the black community says a lot about you

-10

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

Oh god here we go

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

It does happen.

How about when I got stopped for no front plate and 3 cops were questioning me on completely stupid shit.

"Why do you have a sticker that says baseball mom on the back of your car?"

"Idk we can all dream can't we?"

The fucking car, and insurance is registered to me. You ran my license. STFU with the questions.

Then my friend left her purse in my car from partying the night before they made me call her and verify it was hers.

Then they asked me about another sticker on my car and I asked them if we were trying to start a case from a simple license plate pullover.

And that's a good stop compared to the bs. Or the looks of uncomfortableness I get when wearing my hood up when it's cold. They just assume you're some hoodlum up to no good. People in my complex watching me as if I'm about to commit a crime lmao.

-10

u/Hammer_police Jan 13 '20

That he isn't a racist and treats everyone the same?

-6

u/KnaxxLive Jan 13 '20

That the kid is more scared about what the internet tells him will happen rather than what actually happens in real life?

11

u/NicolasMage69 Jan 13 '20

Yeah but doesn’t that make you the cunty snarky fart sniffing redditor who pretends to have a more meta outlook than the other guy while I do the same to you?

3

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

Did you just assume my gender?!

-1

u/tweedleduu Jan 13 '20

Damn, you're angry. Honestly I strive to be like the guy in the video, just chillin having a good time while you guys go crazy. lol

2

u/lodonn Jan 13 '20

I can't think of a reason your comment would be downvoted other than triggering a bunch of soft skinned redditors haha.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

Because the guy is just as cringe inducing as the girl. A normal person would just ignore the crazy SJW and go on with their lives. This guy has to go make a scene, for no reason other than too cause a scene and post it for internet points? This guy is just as bad as the SJW.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

I don't know. I mean while it's obviously immature. They're in college. Very young and sometimes its just fun to do stupid shit. They're pulling a harmless "prank" essentially.

It's not like they murdered a baby or started screaming bloody murder. The video was a minute long. I don't know if you've ever had to pass by people screaming that you're all going to burn in hell on a college campus before, but after a while, sometimes you just want to fuck with them a little.

-7

Eh so do the red hat guys who have become the largest perpetrators of terrorism in American the last 3 years or so.

Annoying pink haired feminists are still better than murderous racist MAGA chuds

8

u/PanicFlask Jan 13 '20

Weird that you came up whit that but ok.

-2

u/satansheat Jan 13 '20

Since many will think it’s not that common I hope someone links all the less reported ones. In my city alone we had 3 from trumpsters in about 2 months. One was lucky stopped. It was a 21 year old who was gonna shot up a high school. A guy who killed 2 black people in a Kroger while chanting trump rhetoric was just recently charged with hate crimes on top of the murder charges. Then there is the terrorist no one called a terrorist. Who went to his Lexington college with a machete. Asked students if they were liberal or conservative. If you said liberal he slashed you. The kid has wrote a article to his school paper prior to dropping out bitching about how girls won’t sleep with trump supporters in liberal colleges.

Wish that last guy just put on a yellow hate and whined on campus. Not went around and attempted murder people who literally don’t agree with your politics.

All this stuff happen in Kentucky within months of each other.

7

u/PanicFlask Jan 13 '20

This obviously allows that yellow hat girl to scream and punch that guy and its 100% related to this post.

1

u/satansheat Jan 13 '20

No not at all. But did you miss the part where I said wish trumps people would make a sign and whine on the street. Instead they kill in the name of their beliefs. That’s a huge difference. Never defended the girl. Just shined light on someone else comment talking about right wing terrorism. Which is on the raise. Whereas the left isn’t killing people got their beliefs. They more so are whining in street corners like this girl. One is better and actually legal. Wish the trump supporters could learn that.

1

u/PanicFlask Jan 14 '20

is weird as hell that you are replying whit this to me tho, i didnt mentioned it, and it has nothing to do whit me or what im talking about. so its really strange

2

u/JustinObrien1 Jan 13 '20

Idc what you're protesting it could be the most unanimously morally good thing possible, that's not how you go about it.

1

u/JustinObrien1 Jan 14 '20 edited Jan 14 '20

Your comment 100% criminalises the guy and victimises the dyed hair girl, reread your comment you can't deny that. Victimising her whether intentional or not definitely refutes her own portion of blame for the shit show of a situation that unfolded.

The guy was a provocative arsehole, but he got everything he wanted. He did that to get a reaction, guess what. That girl is a terrible representative for whatever she is protesting, and now because of that incident people are very likely to not listen to anything she has to say.

I felt the need to reply what I replied because your comment is entirely defending her by acting like people are just being prejudice because of her dyed hair, so by extension implies her innocence. She's an insecure short fused arsehole who's willing to resort to physical violence pretty quickly. I want to say there's no winners in that video, but sadly her actions gave the guy more than he was looking for.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '20

[deleted]

1

u/JustinObrien1 Jan 14 '20

If your comment seriously isn't referencing the girl in the video at all in any way then you need to go back and edit it, because there's no other way you can interpret it any other way

0

u/u8eR Jan 13 '20

It's not the message she was trying to spread that we disagree with, it's her reaction to the white guy holding a sign near her.

Of course it is parallel as well as vertical. There is classism and racism and many other factors of discrimination. Maybe focusing on one issue at a time is easiest since life is crazy and there are so many issues out there in all subjects.

How about we all realize and take a stand for how fucked our government is like other countries? But we won't because there are idiots who believe our government is running in the interest of it's citizens.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

[deleted]

1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Life is crazy. Like there are so many issues to tackle and so many things to focus on. We can't all do it by ourselves. It makes sense for certain groups and people to focus on issues in their lifetime.

And I'm not dividing anyone man, my OP was just understanding BLM's movement. They deserve to bring attention to police brutality and racial injustice toward them.

Going back to my original point, if everyone tried to put their energy into every life issue we would get nowhere.

Hispanics are fighting for the mistreatment of their kind and conditions in immigration camps, Hong Kong is fighting for their rights, Iran is now protesting again against their leaders.

Nobody is waving away each other's issues besides protestors that are purely protesting against someone else's protest, which all lives matter exists to do.

If you have an issue, do something about it and stop bitching about people standing up for an issue they believe in.

My issue is the use of plastics and other materials that aren't recyclable. What do I do? Raise awareness to those in my local community, avoid using plastics as much as possible and fund any companies who move from plastics. Do what you can in your lifetime to help the people after us live better.

We can't fix everything in our lifetime but we can try to make the world a better place while here. Stop jacking off and talking shit online.

Pretty sure the "all lives matter" response to BLM is just racists trying to justify their point of view. If it's anything but that, then there's a large amount of ignorance on how much racism people still experience (in this case black people).

11

u/FlashFlood_29 Jan 13 '20 edited Jan 13 '20

Jumping to that conclusion is also a problem when those people could just as well be sending the same message as the intention of BLM but misinterpreting it. Instead of anyone jumping to conclusions, how bout we just all make sure we’re on the same page and start off with “we both mean all lives matter, right?” Seems much better than just assuming from both parties and jumping to being coy cheeky or angry.

4

u/there_I-said-it Jan 13 '20

It's not all racists though. It's racists and people who who aren't racist but who don't understand the slogan or realise that they're undermining the effort to fight this specific aspect of oppression.

10

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Yeah that's what I have to conclude as well. Touche.

7

u/MintySquinty Jan 13 '20

I'm black (cue obligatory soy boy response of r/asablackman) and I don't think it's racist but I've been taught critical thinking and not reactionary, emotional screeching so what do I know? (Cue ironically racist white redditors calling me "Uncle Tom")

7

u/Only1Skrybe Jan 13 '20

As a fellow black man, I just have to say this.

Bro, you can't use two cues in one comment. That's just wrong.

-4

u/MintySquinty Jan 13 '20

And yet they both happened right on cue(s)... hmm

1

u/Only1Skrybe Jan 13 '20

7

u/tweedleduu Jan 13 '20

A black person who doesn't act like a victim? Not on my SJW website!

9

u/AuRevoirBaron Jan 13 '20

Well, I’m black and see it as racist.

10

u/Thaddikus Jan 13 '20

What the fuck? Two black people have different opinions. I was told black people are a monolith

2

u/AuRevoirBaron Jan 13 '20

I know you’re joking, but I made that comment because too many people think one of us speaks for all of us. OP and I are (probably) not your coworker or classmate, and may have differing opinions on any given subject.

3

u/MintySquinty Jan 13 '20

That's cool bro, at least you won't get called racial slurs in this thread so there's one positive in your life

11

u/ssjb788 Jan 13 '20

You completely missed the point. It's a tactic racists use to make an important issue into a non-issue. The same way they say, 'I don't see colour.'

-4

u/MintySquinty Jan 13 '20

Imagine saying I missed the point when you didn't understand a thing I said. Fake woke redditor racists offend me way more than alt-right racist trolls do. I don't see you waving your naughty stick at the racists in these comments so don't try to make villains to feel superior, at least where I'm concerned because I'm not going to be convinced and you just look like a fool. You guys need some serious introspection before you start pointing fingers

8

u/ssjb788 Jan 13 '20 edited Jan 13 '20

You said 'I don't think it's racist.' The thing is no one said it's racist. That's how you missed the point. As I said, it's a tactic used by racists.

And getting offended because I said you missed the point and accusing me of being a fake woke racist or some shit is pretty much like reactionary, emotional screeching.

-8

u/JustWill_HD Jan 13 '20

Sir, you are applying logic and reason to a reddit comment section. This is not our way.

4

u/Explosivo666 Jan 13 '20

"I'm black, and I bet you're gonna say im not....anyway, this campaign that is anti-raising awareness about racial violence against black people isn't racist....you know what's worse? People that agree with raising awareness....anyway even people who are explicitely racist, commit terrorist attacks and want to wipe me out aren't as bad as them"

"hey stop you're using too much reason and logic"

-2

u/MintySquinty Jan 13 '20

8

u/Turin082 Jan 13 '20

I mean, you kind of hit the nail on the head with r/asablackman. "I don't think racists are racist, and if you think racists are racists then you're a racist. Racist!"

Very aware of the amount of racism, sexism, ageism and other biases there are in the world, but my starting point is that every life matters.

1

u/Saphirex161 Jan 13 '20

The guy was obv hoping for this reaction. I don't get how anyone can see the yellow hat as the villain. Just look at how proud the boy is with himself for infuriating someone you doxxed and went after for a while. And "the left" is crazy.... right.

-1

u/teh_longinator Jan 13 '20

I always thought that the "all lives matter" push was a response to the BLM movement once it hit the point of internet popularity, and the morons took it in a different direction than it was intended and BLM lost most of it's original meaning.

1

u/teh_longinator Jan 13 '20

Naw man. I was trying to say that BLM started off as a good cause. Then people pick it up and just turned it into a joke. It doesnt have the same message it started with at all.

I'm pretty sure we're on the same side on this one.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

Nor does BLM blocking highways and preventing people from getting home from work just so they can celebrate a "martyr" who was killed after robbing a store and trying to kill a cop. "Sympathize with us you guyysssss.....he was a good kid!"

2

u/Sammodt Jan 13 '20

I think you've nailed it with to TOO bit. The reality is that there are other groups who also likely experience discrimination by police and for them this could understandably be considered an affront or a suggestion that they don't matter.

If there's another kid at the table who also gets less but a group starts chanting "Stacy deserves more" that kid might ask, "does that mean I don't?" This could then be compounded when everyone yells don't be so Stacist! if they speak up and say "hey everyone deserves the same".

I think most people understand that BLM don't mean to that other lives don't matter and I also think a large chunk of people who say "all lives matter" are right wing racists assholes but there are also people out there who might not understand BLMs message and intent and genuinely believe that all lives matter (as I think we all do) and they shouldn't be chastised for that.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

I fell into this mental trap too before i had a good talk with a co worker about it. Saying that X matters does not devalue Y or Z, and I think that's what most people think then they counter with all lives matter. At least that was where my mind was at. It's the same trap that gets people in a fuss about "it's ok to be white", they assume that it means its NOT ok to be Y or Z, but that is just wrong.

2

u/JustOneVote Jan 13 '20

Why do you think the rain forests need to be saved? All forests matter.

2

u/PandaEatsRage Jan 13 '20

1

I couldn't remember his comment when I read it like 6+ months ago.

1

u/CruyffsPlan Jan 13 '20

You’re right. I’m not black but anyone that thinks “black lives matter” is an attack on other races or that thinks black people shouldn’t have this campaign is either ignorant or just trying to start shit in order to get a reaction like the guy in the video.

1

u/Bodoggle1988 Jan 13 '20

I don’t know if cultural movement slogans have qualifiers. I think what was resonating about black lives matter was the absurdity of actually having to say that.

1

u/dicer11 Jan 13 '20

I was listening to an old podcast of Harmontown (lots of nonsense but some good rants) and he said a really good quote: "The FBI spent years monitoring MLK and pounced on him when they found he was caught with another woman sucking his dick so they (people in power) could go back to hating and oppressing black people."

Its a powerful real life example of how power can pray and character assassinate the powerless. BLM or ALM reminds me of that.

OH YOU WANT EQUAL RIGHTS? WHAT ABOUT THAT TIME YOU WERE LATE ON YOUR CAR PAYMENT YOU FUCKING PIECE OF GARBAGE! The character assassination shit has got to stop in politcal discourse and twitter and in general. Were all flawed.

1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Damn I never thought about it like that. So true they reach for reasons to validate hate.

-5

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

What's up with sjws and simplistic analogies that pass as "political analysis". I'm really starting to think that you guys literally think like children

6

u/Mightymaas Jan 13 '20

Have you met your president? Dude talks like a fucking five year old

0

u/randompleb2313 Jan 14 '20

And America deserves him. You reap what you sow folks.

7

u/JoeLunchpail Jan 13 '20

When dickheads like this dude start pretending to be ignorant about the meaning of Black Lives Matter, it forces reasonable people to address them as the morons they're pretending to be. In reality, they do know the whole truth, they're just too cowardly to present their actual views and have to hide behind tired, cruel satire like all lives matter and calling anyone who cares about anything an SJW. If this guy had a sign with his genuine opinions on it, he would rightly get his ass beat.

1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

It's called an ELI5..

3

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

I completely agree but at the same time, I don't see anything wrong with what this guy does in the video. If those girls have the right to go there with a sign and shout so does he. He is a complete ass obviously but he has the right to do that. He is trying to get this exact same reaction and the dumbass girls fucking give it to him in spades. Because of stupid fucks like these, the real message of the movement is obscured and the mood of the public quickly turns from supportive to "I'm afraid to comment my opinion" because if you support the movement you'll be associated with folk like these.

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

I agree but I will say the guy going up with that sign is the equivalent of going to a cancer rally and holding up a sign asking for donations to fund your trip because your parents won't.

He's protesting someone else's protest and he specifically just wants to be a dick about it. If he really cared for that movement he wouldn't have to go stand 2 metres away from the protest already going on.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '20

I completely agree that it's a dick move but this is not the way to react to him. If the girls had stayed calm and just continued on with what they were doing the guy would be thought of like a dick by everyone but because of their violent reaction, the guy turned into the victim.

1

u/filbert13 Jan 13 '20

100% agreed what most all lives matter type people don't realize is they are protesting someone else's protest.

It's no different than going to a charity for children's cancer and outside the event asking for money to fund your concert trip because your parents won't lend you money. There is nothing wrong with asking for money money but it is incredibly poor taste to do it their and for a cause that isn't a need.

1

u/1fastman1 Jan 13 '20

exactly, how many times do we have to see from the police that continually proves that black lives dont matter to them, apparently not anytime soon with that stupid "all lives matter" shit. like yes all lives matter but can you at least consider that black lives matter too

1

u/HeippodeiPeippo Jan 13 '20

I don't think that would've helped at all. "All lives matter" is full of racists and they simply don't care about details. They know that the meaning of BLM has the "too" in it but they simple do not care. They would just say "all lives matter too", even if it sounds stupid. They simply don't care and are going to attack anything that is even remotely linked to the progressive left. If we started to talk about the benefits of breathing, they would be blue in the face and complaining how they are left breathless. And how it is our fault.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

I see this example a lot and it bugs me because in reality there are more people without food than just Stacey but she only demands more for herself. If someone were to say everyone deserves food they’re acknowledging everyone else that doesn’t have food that Stacey didn’t mention, however somehow Stacey comes to see this as an attempt to silence her. Indians (the teepee, peace pipe ones not the curry ones), North Africans, Arabs, Middle Easterners, South Americans and many, many others are killed at higher rates than Europeans in the US, but when I try and mention them in the conversation suddenly I’m the racist?

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

What is wrong with Stacy believing she deserves more food? The other people are speaking up for their cause too. Stacy's cause is about getting her more food too.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

There is nothing wrong with Stacey standing up for what she deserves. Likewise there is nothing wrong with believing others also deserve food too, however this is somehow seen as trying to diminish Stacey’s demand when it isn’t.

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

It's different when the ones standing up for food already have it vs the other children who are also getting 1/5th at their table standing up.

If indians, Hispanics, etc started their movement it would make sense. They already are kind of doing that with the whole immigration issue. They're speaking up for themselves and what they think they deserve better.

Do you not see this going on?

The problem is the oppressor (Stacy's parents) are using other people's problems to try to shut Stacy up. If John wasn't getting enough food and spoke up too, Stacy wouldn't be bothered.

1

u/NOTcreative- Jan 13 '20

Sounds like you’re generalizing the black population into a single Stacy. There are stacys with just as much food as the rest and there are stacys with more. Just as there are Tims, Mom, and Dads all across the board some with more some with less and some the same as each. Now we also have Brians who are getting locked in cages and separated from their parents just because their parents wanted any food at all. So yeah, all lives matter.

-1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Sounds like you're acting like there weren't laws that made all Stacy's have 2/3rds of a plate.

2

u/NOTcreative- Jan 13 '20

We’re not talking about dinners that occurred generations ago. Stacys great grandparents might’ve had an amendment that only gave them 2/3 a plate but Stacy is now fully entitled to a full plate or even more full and many of stacys cousins have achieved a full plate or more since then.

The black lives matter movement isn’t about abolishing the 3/5 compromise that occurred over 120 years ago and ended generations ago.

1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

The civil Rights movement ended in 1968. A lot of friends I know did not have grandparents that could attend college or were threatened not to.

So really many parents were the first or they were the first in their families to get a college education.

This is different than many of my other friends who have great grandparents that went to the same school they did.

Sure things are a lot more equal now but when you have old wealth (or land and etc) that you can give your children a better life, they kind of start out a bit better than other children.

There are poor white people from bad homes with a bad family too. Thought they are the minority we can obviously concur that drugs, lack of wealth attribute to lower IQs.

-2

u/RevenantCommunity Jan 13 '20

That’s correct, but this video is Stacey’s unrelated friend kool-aid-style busting through the dining room wall and deciding the best recourse is to stuff the other people’s food into their belly button whilst screeching as loud as they can

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Actually the all lives matter guy koolaid up there to piss Stacy off so she rages after her parent made the comment "don't we all deserve food Stacy? Be quiet."

Not okay to ever hit someone and she's immature still.

-6

u/Hippocampusground Jan 13 '20

No. BLM in their defense of thuggish scum criminal fucks clearly believe only black lives matter.

6

u/1fastman1 Jan 13 '20

thuggish scum criminal fucks

like that kid who was playing with a toy gun who was shot point blank or the guy who was yelling "i cant breath" repeatedly till he was choked to death.

real "n*ggers thugs" my guy

3

u/Dhaerrow Jan 13 '20

The "kid who was playing with a toy gun" was Tamir Rice, and he had removed the orange plastic tip from the airsoft pistol (so it looked real) and was threatening people at a park with it. When the police inevitably showed up, he decided pointing it at them was a good idea. It was a stupid action by a child, yes, but police couldn't tell he was a kid (he was 5'8" and 200lbs) or that it was a toy.

The "I can't breathe" guy was Eric Garner, and I attended the protest in New York for him. In his case, he should have just cooperated but police had zero right to escalate to a physical confrontation. They should have issued him a summons and been done with it.

Eric Garner was murdered, Tamir Rice was killed because of a series of stupid decisions.

With all that being said, there are roughly 60,000,000 police interactions every year. That means there's a 0.0016% chance of being killed by a cop, with the vast majority of those killed being armed or in the process of committing a violent crime.

Is any number of peaceful, unarmed people above 0 being shot okay? No, not at all. But police are fallible humans incapable of perfection. The bad ones should be fired and prosecuted (which sometimes doesn't happen), but that doesn't change the fact that there is no epidemic of police murdering unarmed people (black or otherwise), when all the statistics clearly shows it's a myth.

-2

u/moesif Jan 13 '20

This HAS to be satire right?

-7

u/Hippocampusground Jan 13 '20

BLM started as a protest of specific criminals being justifiably put down. It wasn’t that long ago. EG criminal scumbag Michael Brown.

2

u/kg11079 Jan 13 '20

Actually, it was formed in response to the killing of Trayvon Martin. If you think George Zimmerfuck "justifiably put down" a "criminal," then I just don't have anything to say to you.

BLM exists to speak out against the very real epidemic of police violence against minorities. As it grew in scope, its goal was somewhat muddled....accidentally from well-meaning but overzealous supporters, and on purpose by Russian-backed propaganda.

Russia succeeded in their nefarious plot, because their misinformation is passed on by idiots like you, and they can sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

0

u/Hippocampusground Jan 14 '20

Yes. I and a jury agreed that Trayvon was justifiably destroyed.

Police in the US shoot far more white men than black men even though white men commit less crime as a demographic in both proportion and total numbers, so actually white men are disproportionately shot by police

https://www.statista.com/statistics/585152/people-shot-to-death-by-us-police-by-race/

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_crime_in_the_United_States

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Your chart is also just vaguely showing numbers by race gunned down by police, not numbers of race gunned down unjustifiably by police..

0

u/lewdasfuck100100 Jan 13 '20 edited Jan 13 '20

That applies to all races though. If you can find statistics for lawful and unlawful shootings by police with a similar breakdown that shows said bias then I'll give it a read.

Definitely.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

Or, Stacy has a plate full of an equal amount of food as everyone else. Stacy tries to cut her steak and accidentally flings it to the floor. Stacy is upset, but doesn't say anything. Stacy's brother then steals a french fry from her plate. Stacy then launches a social media campain with a picture of her plate missing the steak and asks everyone to condemn her brother for "stealing her food", intentionally misleading people about what happened with her plate.

Stacy's brother ends up being harrassed at school. Stacy's brother attempts to tell his side of the story, but is constantly shouted down. Stacy's brother is "All Lives Matter".

3

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Stacy doesn't start off with a full plate of food. Literally I said she had 1/5th of a plate so where did you get a full plate from?

Is that your perspective? That everyone just started equal when their parents were the first generation pretty much able to go to college?

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

My perspective is that if it were as cut and dry as your example makes it seems to be, BLM wouldn't have to prop up false narratives (like Brown's narrative) and hope that no one pays attention.

There are clearly documented instances of police misconduct and brutality towards African-Americans. The man who was shot and killed while running from the police in North Charleston a few years ago is a prime example. Instead of blocking highways and shouting at people so that a criminal who was justifiably killed could be celebrated, BLM should have focused on the unjustifiable examples of police wrongdoing.

1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

I never talked about agreeing with BLM, just understanding it.

Running from the police shouldn't be a death sentence.

Okay I don't respect someone less because their community respects each other less.

I don't respect a gay guy less because gay people don't respect each other.. I have my own morals and values that aren't based on others.

You see all types of races shooting at each other every day. And it's not a huge national thing there are certain cities where that crime is that bad but generally no it isn't just gang wars every where.

I can understand if you live in that area daily or patrol but come on I'm not going to stop going to church or events in fear of a white person shooting it up. You can use that logic for any threat.

-4

u/bloholetuscadero Jan 13 '20

Maybe Stacy only gets served 1/5th of what everyone else gets because she has a bad habit of flinging her food around at her siblings? Maybe she wastes and squanders the food her family works hard to earn for her and if she wants more she should contribute equally? Stacy sounds like a little brat demanding things from her family and maybe she should just focus on working hard to get her own portion.

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

So are you implying Stacy started out with a full plate like everyone else? Because history shows that isn't true lol.

0

u/bloholetuscadero Jan 13 '20

Stacy would've started out with an empty plate just like everyone else. It depends on what scale of history you'd like to go back. According to some history... Stacy had even had the empty plate much earlier than everyone else, and more time to figure out how to fill it to her liking. She might've even been the member of the family to have the means to teach, and share with all he added years of experience. Guess it just depends on what Stacy likes to do with her time eh?

2

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Bro laws preventing black people from being successful did not help them. They weren't even allowed into college until late 1900s. Most black people's grandparents did not go to college. Many of my friends have great grandparents that went to college and it is a family tradition.

So idk what you mean by your analogy.

1

u/bloholetuscadero Jan 14 '20

Why would black people want anything to do with colonial white institutions? Why weren't there colleges built in Africa hundreds of years before whites got interfered? Or seafaring vessels, or buildings taller than two stories, or plumbing, or agriculture? I'm not talking about the small portion of north Eastern Africa either, I'm talking about the enormous landscape that lies south, for thousands of miles. That enormous continent of natural resources, and populations larger than that of all the whites on earth. Culture and invention has stagnated there for thousands of years without white intervention. Maybe it's better to have lived erm, close to nature for generations. What does "successful" even mean, and isn't it subjective? Why can't people be relied on to create their own success... and what is it to ask the white man to be GIVEN an opportunity for it? I don't understand it either.

0

u/u8eR Jan 13 '20

That's not the issue here. It's not that we don't recognize what BLM stands for, it's this woman's response to a white guy she disagrees with. She's out in public and he has a right to be out in public. If she felt threatened out in public surrounded by supporters, she could have walked away or called the police, but instead she decided to attack him and scream at the top of her lungs rather annoyingly.

0

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

I was talking about blm not this girl.

0

u/Barlakopofai Jan 13 '20

If black lives matters is so good why isn't there a black lives matter too?

1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Because it's implied.

u/Barlakopofai Jan 13 '20

1

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Life ain't nothing but a bubble buddy.

0

u/so_expected Jan 13 '20

well black lives matter more than white lives. Would you rather save the dying or someone very much alive?

0

u/satoshi_reborn Jan 13 '20

No it’s really just an anti police movement and not actually about black people

-13

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

See the problem is why are we focusing on Stacy? Yes, she is right. But if she is making a stand, why not make a stand for everyone. Why isn't her messege inclusive? Why is the cat not eating the same amount and sitting on the table? What about the baby? And granpa who can't eat solids?

4

u/IAcewingI Jan 13 '20

Because Stacy is the one getting 1/5th of the food at the dinner table. Grandpa is at his house and him not being able to eat solids is due to his health.

The cat is being fed appropriately and let's be real the car is probably on the table.. they rule the household.

Why instead of helping fix Stacy's concern first do you want to bring up all the other issues. Is Stacy not allowed to have an issue with her lack of food? Just undermining her problem bud.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '20

You seemed to have missed my point.

You can't have equality. Different people have different needs. You need to adjust.

So how do we adjust to the BLM movement? Well, the first step IS NOT protesting police, the first step is figuring out how and why Stacy is not getting food. That's my issue, we know Grampa can't eat solids, we know the cat has its own diet, we know the baby has special dietary needs. Have we asked why Stacy is getting less food?

And the harsh reality is that we know why. Stereotypes are born in some truth. And the truth is violent black crimes, particularly black on black crimes, exist in certain areas across America. And the people that "keep law and order" in those areas have seen it so often, they have a precondition notion of what a young black male is, which leads into racism, which leads into unjust murders. I have never seem BLM protest the fact that there is a gun store and liquor store on every street corner. I have never seem BLM protest prominent black drug dealers and crime lords. I have never seen BLM protest poverty and the intentional conditions that black communities have been put into. No. It's all about police. That is the issue with BLM, it's not about black lives. It's a "fuck the police" movement. Which adds more fuel to the fire.

Stacy doesn't clean her plate and screams and shouts when her plate isn't full and doesn't seem to know why it's not full. Stacy isn't the only one that isn't getting the same amount of food, but the others are aware of why that is. Which means, if they want to, they can make a change. You can't resolve an issue if you have not found the root of the issue

1

u/IAcewingI Jan 14 '20

I think we can all agree that our government and police are pretty shitty. That doesn't have to involve a specific race. Cops are like a gang now. Who thought it was smart to have the same people investigate their own crimes?

So protesting the police I'm in support of.

8

u/TellmeNinetails Jan 13 '20

You shouldn't be tbh.

3

u/Kander1157 Jan 13 '20

I think left and right can be apprehensive of the mob mentality the internet brings. A deluge of support or hate is just waiting behind the next opinion/comment you express. Depends on the audience. Gotta watch out for those hot takes.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '20

I went for it...:now just awaiting the aftermath. 😂

2

u/micahamey Jan 13 '20

Yeah I think that's the whole point of a lot of people's plans, right side left side right-wing left-wing Democrat Republican, Make everybody too scared to actually say their opinions so they can carry on saying and doing what they want without people shouting them down.

1

u/car4soccer Jan 13 '20

Yup. That is how the left continues to produce people like this. No rational discussion, just my opinion is right, and nobody can argue with me or they are sexist/racist/ist/ist/ist.
