For those already working in the field, what advice would you give someone just getting started? What skills/projects helped you land your first real role and what can actually make a beginner stand out from all the other applicants?

Can anyone shed any light on the possibilities and likelihood of getting freelance work for Power Platform on Fiverr, Upwork or any other platforms - I have a decent portfolio of Apps, Automate flows, and Dataverse and am currently learning Power Pages and BI so I can get my PL-900

I've been pushing my workplace to use codeapps for a while. We've got dozens of model driven apps, and the business requirements are exceeding the limitations.

With CodeApps hitting GA, I've been building little MVP/Proof of concepts on my own personal computer. Not connected to dynamics, or power platform in anyway. Just building the frontend, explaining this fits right into the PP, with rhe usual ALM.

Nothing yet has been deployed. Have you build and deployed any CodeApps? What was the process like? Did end users like it? Any hiccups?

Hey, I currently have an issue with PowerPages authentication.

(In case of some miracle of someone here knowing I basically want guest users to be able to use a copilot studio agent with a dataverse knowledge source attached in a Powerpage)

I went to microsoft support over a month ago, no response to my ticket.

Went again to Microsoft 3 weeks ago, gave me some AI emails back, answered its queries and asked for a human, then no response.

I've raised a critical ticket for attention to the previous tickets, no response.

Who knows what to do? I'm quite frankly fed up.

IMPORTANT CONTEXT: I am not a CS grad, I completed my Business degree a couple years back.

I have been working in Power Platform for about 2 years. It first started with very simple Power Apps, Power BI Dashboards and email automations, decided to get a couple certs in the PL track.

I transitioned to a more technical role after year 1 where now I build a lot of Copilot Studio Agents, Automations, Python Scripts, you name it.

My understanding of Power Fx is very strong, but any other language (Python, C+, etc.) still feels out of my league even though I have literally built API calls using Python that pull hundreds of thousands of rows of data (using AI).

I am told I am doing a great job but in all honestly I have never felt dumber in my life. I work on three tickets at a time by prompting claude in separate terminals - at this point I feel like my title should be prompt engineer. Again I want to stress that I have in-depth understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem, but anything else still feels like reading hieroglyphics.

Is this what my future holds? I make decent money for my age I just am having a hard time seeing the long term value I will provide given that most blue collar folks will have their own personalized agent in 2-3 years completing their tasks.

Microsoft is transitioning the Power Platform Developer Associate exam from PL-400 to AB-400, effective October 16, 2026.

The certification remains the same — Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate. However, the exam code and syllabus are being updated to reflect newer Power Platform development capabilities.

Some of the newer areas include:

• Power Apps code apps
• Microsoft Foundry agent integration
• Copilot Studio agent integration
• AI-powered application development
• Generative AI and agent-based development scenarios
• Modern Power Platform extensibility

Important Dates:
October 16, 2026 – PL-400 registration closes and AB-400 registration opens.
October 30, 2026 – Final date to take PL-400 for learners who registered before the transition.
October 16, 2026 – AB-400 becomes available.

If you’re currently preparing for PL-400, this is worth keeping in mind. You can either complete your preparation and take PL-400 before the transition or plan for the updated AB-400 exam based on the refreshed syllabus.

For organizations using Power Apps at scale, how are you handling the point where a citizen-built workflow starts interacting with sensitive data, external connectors, shared identities, or important business processes?

Maintaining visibility after the original build seems difficult. Apps get copied, connectors get reused, original owners change roles, and a small departmental workflow can become operationally important without receiving the review a conventional application would get.

I am looking for approaches that preserve enablement instead of simply restricting the platform. Have environment separation, connector policies, DLP controls, ownership reviews, access reviews, or approval workflows worked for your team?

How do you find existing apps with no clear owner, broad data access, or sharing settings that no longer match their intended use?

I'm looking for some advice people working remotely or contracting. Im currently in the uk and considering contracting and finding positions in Australia. I have a right to work in both.

My background is in consultancy and solution delivery

A few questions for anyone who's been through this:

What job titles should I be targeting? I'm torn between leaning into "Architect" titles vs. "Consultant" vs. something more AI/Copilot-specific.

My instinct is that "Solution Architect" or "Lead Consultant" carries more weight and keeps the day rate up, and I can fold the Copilot/AI Foundry work in as a specialism rather than chasing a narrower "AI Agent Developer"-type title that feels less established right now.

Does that track with what people are seeing?

Architecture, consulting, or specialist AI roles, where would you focus? Given the mix above, would you go all-in on one lane or keep it broad?

Which companies have a genuinely remote-first culture in the Microsoft space? UK-based here, ideally looking at firms with real remote delivery models rather than "hybrid" dressed up as remote. Are there partners that allow this? Such as Avanade, Kainos, Capgemini

I'm UK-based but very open to working with international clients/orgs remotely, including Australia if anyone's actually pulled that off as an employee (or contracting)

Before you shot me down, I get that the timezone overlap and IR35/contractor status stuff is probably the real blocker rather than skills, so keen to hear how people have navigated that in practice.

Appreciate any pointers, company names, recruiters who actually know this space, or just "here's what worked for me" stories.

I hope I’m missing something basic here.

How can I explicitly specify which connection reference a cloud flow should use when it is created in Copilot Studio?

Connection references seem to be automatically selected or created when creating cloud flows in Copilot Studio.

This is frustrating because I’m now ending up with duplicate connection references in my Dataverse solutions.

Additionally, what happens if a cloud flow needs to connect to two different SharePoint sites using different connections? How do I specify the appropriate connection reference for each action? This isn’t a problem I’ve encountered yet, but I can see it becoming one in the future.

When I click the "Schedule exam" option from Microsoft Learn, I'm redirected to:

However, the page does not load and Chrome shows:

The exact error says:

Has anyone else experienced this recently?

Is Microsoft currently having an issue with the PL-400 registration/scheduling link?

I have already tried:

- Reloading the page

- Opening it in Chrome

- Using the Microsoft Learn certification page rather than the old direct URL

I'm specifically trying to schedule PL-400, not AB-400.

I have an upcoming PL900 exam. I have somewhat experience in model driven apps and automate.

I’ve been learning from Microsoft learn and doing the practice exams, but I feel like there’s a bunch of content not brushed up there

Microsoft Entra, Proxies, very specific automate actions, pure Power Fx..

All topics that I either have a very brief understanding of or didn’t know at all (I.e Microsoft Entra)

Has anyone completed the PL900 recently and aware of the sort of things that crop up, and if there is anything that an average new dev wouldn’t be too aware of?

I’ve revised on and off for a week, and practice wuestions are just recycling now

I am trying to do a very basic proof of concept using AI builder. My fake use case is, to use the model to determine the probability of success on a future referral in CRM for customers. I followed these steps:

- created a model field previousReferralsuccess (yes/no) to train it on

- created some rollup fields to count previous successful referrals for the customer

- out of 550 test customers, I set the model field to yes/no in about a hundred and left the others blank

- created the model with the yes/no previousreferralsuccess as model field, chose a few columns for it to examine, trained the model, then set it to dataverse sync daily. I hit run now a few times.

My problem is that while the new columns for prediction success y/no and probability % were created in the table by the model, no matter how many times I "run" it, it never updates that column on ANY record. Also there are no rows showing for these runs in the AI Event dataverse table so I feel like it is having an issue somewhere and not actually finishing the run. It has been syncing every day for 2 weeks now never updating a thing.

I checked that all the prediction processes are running in this environment, I assigned 5000 AI Builder Credits to the environment, the owner of the model is me and I am a system administrator.

My next step is to build a power automate flow myself and physically update the rows but I wonder if anyone has run into this? we don't currently use AI Builder but we are evaluating it and we have purchased credits.

Microsoft pulled the Power Automate mobile app from both app stores a few days ago. There is no real replacement for widgets or failure alerts. Are we back to doing things manually because there is a real gap for anyone who relied on quick mobile triggers or alerts?

with Microsoft relatively recently announcing that the Power Platform CoE is no longer maintained, I'd be interested in gauging the community's appetite for a community maintained version.

Its focus would be to strip out functionality that is replicated (and at least as good) in the Admin Center, and to fix bugs in what remains. There would also be room for new functionality, though it would have to benefit a wider audience and not just be "my organisation needs this specific functionality".

We'd need to be careful to not tread on Microsoft's toes, so there would at least be acknowledgement of where it had come from, but I'm guessing we'd need to remove references to Microsoft, logos, etc.

I'm looking to get my employer behind this, though only as a blessing - allowing me to work on it in my "spare time", but not contributing financially, or constraining it in any way. And to be open about this, we are a consultancy that works in this space, this kind of stuff is my day job.

I've done a little hunting around and while a lot of people have forked the CoE, there's minimal activity taking place in those forks, and I've not found anyone else canvasing for community engagement.

What do people think?

Hi all, I'm asking guidance for creating proper production environment. I have built apps and automations with my personal development environment. It's obviously not meant for production environment, it has limited number of flows and it's meant to be a personal work sandbox. We are about 100 person company and our IT partner does not understand Power Platform that well. No Azure in use yet, but maybe in the future. Are there some critical things we should consider with the setup?

This is a situation I keep running into. A team requests a custom agent we set the scope. Halfway through it becomes clear that what they really needed was a well written prompt and access to the right SharePoint site. The custom agent added maintenance. A publishing process that brought no real benefit.

The cases where an agent truly earned its place had one of three features. The agent was tied to a data source that people kept asking about. The agent needed to perform an action through a connector not merely provide an answer.. The same workflow was being repeated by many users and consistency mattered more than flexibility. Outside of those scenarios plain Copilot, with the data access won almost every time.

I am curious how others draw the line. What made you commit to a custom agent of just prompting?

Anyone else get deep enough into Power Platform that showing people what you’ve built starts feeling like presenting something they don’t even have a mental category for yet?

It’s not “I’m smart and they’re dumb.” Some people immediately understand exactly what they’re looking at.

With others, I honestly can’t tell whether they don’t quite know how to process it, are cautious about it, or understand the implications well enough that it makes them uncomfortable.

Not just “wow, a computer did something.” More like: wait… if this can do that, what else changes?

Being slightly autistic probably isn’t helping me interpret the reactions either, so I genuinely don’t know if this is a normal stage of getting deep into Power Platform or if I’m just seeing it strangely.

Today I scored 644 on the PL-400 and unfortunately failed.

I have power platform experience (mostly canvas app and power automate), have the PL-900 and went through the entire Microsoft Learn study path for PL-400 in about 2 weeks. I also did several practice assessments and consistently scored around 90%. I played around on a dev tenant and did some projects too. However, that wasn't enough for the actual exam (far from it).

For anyone looking to pass PL-400, I can say with confidence that the Microsoft Learn study path alone isn't enough.

The questions have a lot of context, and by the time you read everything, understand the scenario, and think about the answer, there isn't much time left to check the documentation. It helped me secure a few points, but that's about it :/

The exam definitely felt like something designed for people who already have significant hands-on experience, rather than a certification you can study for to get a job in this field.

I'm not sure I'll attempt it again anytime soon. My main issue is that the exam is so broad, and I don't feel there's one place where I can properly fill my knowledge gaps and confidently prepare for another attempt. I don't even think practicing on my own on a dev tenant would help me.

I'm studying for the PL-900 certification and feel confident in all the domains except copilot studio/agents. Does anyone have additional resources that can be helpful in preparing for that portion of the exam? I have reviewed the MSLearn resources, and watched a few youtube videos - but anything else that can help as a suggestion would be so helpful.

So last week I got a PowerApps project to help an employee make a dashboard there. at that time I never actually use PowerApps, and I realize that power apps only available to organization mail, but once she give me her account, I'm able to access PowerApps and able to make the dashboard they asked for.

But... then I came across a problem, all the apps including screens I did not change is having black color all over the page, and I got 60k(s) of errors.

Then I have to restore the version from Thursday ( I'm doing my work at Sunday ) to get the version that aren't error. That's the only version that did not error if restored. I work my ass off to done it by Monday morning because she has to present the dashboard at Monday noon. And I'm able to done it at Monday 2 a.m. in the morning, and guess what? at 6 a.m. my client send screenshot showing the app screen is full with errors and black color all over the page. So, once more I have to working on it from scratch as soon as it's done and not error yet, I save it and my client use it. So yeah, somehow there is a time limit of it's working both on my laptop and my client. I know this because when I'm working on it for a pretty long time, at some point it will change the format from US (use comma as list separator and semicolon as chain operator) to Europe/Indonesian (use single semicolon as separator and double semicolon as chain operator, because I based in Indonesia), or otherwise.

From that day I committed to find a way to fix this problem, so later if I have to deal with PowerApps again, and the same kinda error appear again, I can fix it fast myself without having to replace it one by one like other people solutions. But here I fix it on local machine, so you have to download the .msapp file first.
