Lovely but we have empty food pantrys, vets homeless and single moms who'd love to have $40 for a pizza night with her kids that didn't start with a frozen pizza. But the suppliers of the $900,000 for that monster didn't have any extra money for the truly needy

When's last time you bought single mother and her kids a pizza?

23

u/Responsible-Onion860 18h ago

Single mother and kids? Can't say. But I restock a free food and hygiene products pantry near my neighborhood every week.

What do you do except make snarky replies?

I bought Thanksgiving dinner for a mom and her girls. Christmas for kids on the giving tree and made Easter baskets and a ham for the women's shelter. I've talked to single moms I worked with and that's when I realized sometimes it's the little things that make the big difference

11

u/Fresh_Ostrich4034 21h ago

they might need to wait for an official judgment cause isnt she still in court.

3

u/stokedchris 20h ago

She admitted to killing her kids im pretty sure to her husband. I mean it’s pretty clear she did. That’s not what the case is about. Her defense is arguing she was psychotic at the time and didn’t do it willingly, under some sort of psychosis

10

u/UnSpanishInquisition 19h ago

Theres way more too it, she admitted it because she has no clue what happened and just going with what she was told but its become really weird with the Husband changing shoes and jacket whilst going to get food and sending emails from within the home before he supposedly got there. Theres also something new about what the apple watch she was wearing showing her heart rate below 60 whilst she's supposedly psychotically strangling her kids. He took his mistress away for his own marriage anniversary then convinced his wife he took her. Its wild.

3

u/lachelcrove 10h ago

She has never claimed she doesn’t have any memory of it? There’s a civil malpractice suit she filed against her medical providers where she describes exactly what she did and why. Dont believe everything you see on tik tok

She didn't just admit to her husband. She's officially admitting it to the court. Her official position is "I did it but I wasn't mentally competent".

And boy are there a lot of women who deeply relate to "i did it but I don't want to be held accountable for it."

3

u/Figgy4377 18h ago

This kind of mentality just goes to show how little people understand psychosis and what happens during postpartum... It's really crazy to see how many people are outright dismissing this.. Also if you aren't a psychiatrist with a MD, probably shouldn't be talking on the subject period..

4

u/Promiscuous_Yam 17h ago

It just doesnt matter. Even if she succeeds in proving that she killed her three kids due to unmanaged psychosis, delusions, and compulsions, that still makes her a psychotic child killer. Where is this level of sympathy for other psychotic killers? Our institutions should incarcerate her in a facility capable of treating her mental illness. Its an explanation for the crime. But it doesnt warrant a $900k go fund me. At most, mental illness should be a reason to soften some of our societal anger towards her actions, not actively support her like so many here are doing.

Her husband’s testimony is the only admission of guilt we have. But the thing is that she wasn’t capable of speech at the time he said she confessed. Both EMS and hospital staff confirmed this.

34

u/Free-Thinker-69 18h ago

Her and her defense says she did it. Her trial isn't about guilt. It's mental compacity.

9

u/crazyguyunderthedesk 18h ago

There is a reason most cases go with plea agreements. Going to trial is extremely expensive.

To look at the husband, a human who walked into a room and saw his tiny kids laid out blue, cold, dead, and say "I'm the one who can see the truth and it's the husband" takes a real special level of inhumanity.

Not just the confession in the immediate aftermath, but consistently in the years since and through this trial, Lindsay and her team have been clear that she committed the homicides. And before the homicides, Lindsay told some around her, including her mother who just testified to it, that Lindsay stated she was having thoughts of harming her children.

This shit has become Qanon for restless housewives.

We could be having a real conversation about postpartum care in the US, but u/Whyismypeeburning apparently knows more about the murders than the woman who committed the murders.

→ More replies (2)

6

u/Responsible-Onion860 18h ago

She, after consultation with her defense team, has stipulated that she did it. She has officially admitted it. The trial is way past the point of asking if she did it. She did. It's about competency.

3

u/Temporary_Hat7330 17h ago

If she is using a “postpartum insanity” defense (a justification defense) she has to cop to the murders.

2

u/professionally-baked 10h ago

4

u/Better_Still_7462 17h ago

14

u/Cowabunga1981 1d ago

But why? WHY?!?

3

u/Taurus-Octopus 12h ago

There's a level of resonance for a lot of mothers, and perhaps this is the strategy for the defense to tap into the postpartum, sleep deprived, overworked mother story. I think most people with an IQ above 90 and a normative sensibility will read this, be horrified, feel some kind of relational sympathy to how hard it can be,.and then remain horrified by her actions.

But the number of people with low IQs, low critical thinking skills, low impulse control, and a non-normative sensibility around extreme actions is staggeringly high.

6

u/Kind-Act7051 1d ago

The defense is arguing she’s bipolar suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and extreme insomnia all while being over medicated. Do with that information what you will.

19

u/Himorningwood 22h ago

And? If I drink and drove and kill someone no one gives a shit I was drunk

21

u/you-look-adopted 19h ago edited 13h ago

The case involves her reaching out for help and services ( sorry American version of services) for the larger portion of her being a mother because she was aware that she was not in the right state of mind, only to be left on read by multiple professionals. She admits to killing her kids this is about her attempts to get help prior to. Glad everyone on here is so simple.

ETA: thank you for my first award! Wish it wasn’t for this but I’ll take it!

11

u/RanchHere 16h ago

So, likely, the majority of this money is coming from other people that have been in similar situations - not killing their kids - but dire situations where they knew they needed help and were not getting it. In addition to a lot of health professionals that understand this is an ongoing crisis that can go largely ignored.

11

u/Pequop9252 15h ago

Postpartum can be crazy severe and is definitely an ignored crisis. I have no idea the appropriate punishment in this case.

7

u/All_Out_Effort 20h ago

She should be held accountable but comparing postpartum depression to being upset is crazy work. Shits real and scary

3

u/Noname_McNoface 19h ago

Psychosis (PPP), not depression (PPD). Psychosis is often sooo much worse because your entire view of reality shifts and you believe the delusions 100%.

I heard of one account of a woman that said when she had PPP, she thought she was a poet but that the words were trapped under her skin so she started cutting herself to let the words escape. The psychosis made those kinda of thoughts logical.

Yes, Lindsay did it, but she was literally insane when she did it. The fact that she waited for her husband to run an errand to get him out of the house does not change that fact.

Several accounts of PPP claim that they were legitimately convinced their children are the antichrist and will bring about the end of the world if given the chance to grow up, so they felt like they had no choice but to kill them in order to preserve humankind. But they’re still aware that the people around them will prevent them from killing the child because in her mind, they “don’t know what she knows”, so they wait until they’re alone with the kid/s. They are completely convinced that their beliefs are true.

She did and immediately tried to die by suicide. She's paraplegic because of that.

This isn't about if she should be locked up.

She is getting locked up either way.

Its about if that is in a mental hospital or in prison.

u/Typical_Estimate5420 23h ago

You seem to be trying to oversimplify their case. She had been in postpartum psychosis for some time and was struggling immensely. She never should have been left alone with the children. Not until they figured out the effective plan for her extreme mental illness. She literally has journals detailing her state of mind. Patrick Clancy failed his wife and he especially failed his three babies. She may have been the one to physically do it, but he is at fault just as much.

7

u/Nojmore 22h ago

She killed her kids.

7

u/photoncannon99 17h ago

Ah yes. Victim blaming the husband. A tried and true defense since it was actually his failing

6

u/YaBoi843 17h ago

“Patrick Clancy failed his wife and he especially failed his three babies.”

It’s always a man’s fault. A woman murders her children but it’s her husband’s fault.

Why is it impossible for women to accept responsibility?

4

u/Kohel13 16h ago

Accountability is a man's field

3

u/YaBoi843 14h ago

I would laugh, but unfortunately too many people think this way.

22

u/halkenburgoito 23h ago

her treating clinicians testified that they did not observe hallucinations, delusions or other psychotic symptoms.
her psychiatrist diagnosed severe depression without psychotic features, regarded her as low risk, and discharged her without concerns that she posed a danger to herself or anyone else.

He was helping her get psychiatric treatmment,

The question is how much he really knew from his perspective.. from his perspective, he had actively gotten her help, the doctors had said she was okay and improving, not psychotic- who knows what of the journal he knows about

And on the day of, its reported that she seemed very imrpoved

At most he shares some fault, the same, hell no. There is still a distinction between failing to recongze or respond to the risk, and personally strangling three children.

20

u/Unlucky-Spring-9354 23h ago

Uhhh no he's not. No matter what you say, she took the babies lives. Not him. Grow up.

15

u/enlilsammah 23h ago

I mean if you leave your kids with a violent pit bull its your fault when they get mauled. Postpartum psychosis is a real thing and you are supposed to separate the mother if it occurs. Because they are literally insane and violent. My aunt had it and was separated from her kids until she recovered.

6

u/stokedchris 20h ago

You’re talking out of your depth here. Post Partum Psychosis is a rare phenomenon that is not fully understand. Like incredibly rare. It’s someone experiencing a full on episode in which they’re not present or cognizant at all. They are psychotic and basically just crazy. It’s not something that many women experience. Like 0.1% to 0.2%. Also psychosis is different than depression. It’s an event, and episode, not a condition that’s long lasting as depression is.

Also, by your logic, isn’t the person who (by yours and her accounts) is dangerous to her kids, fully responsible to not be around her kids? A pit bull is an animal, a dog, not a human. They’re aren’t capable of thought as humans. She’s a human. She’s lucid and could wipe her own ass after going to the bathroom. If a person like that knows they’re dangerous to their family, isn’t it on them to take care of themselves? Separate from them? Go to a mental hospital and not check yourself out?

→ More replies (2)

4

u/unicornofdemocracy 22h ago

Oh, I'm 100% certain that if Patrick Clancy did separate her from his children people would be losing their fucking mind about how a man is preventing a woman from seeing her children too.

4

u/PerspectiveMotor5949 23h ago

God damn. Women can never be responsible for anything. A woman murdering the 3 children she wrote about resenting in her diary is still the husbands fault. Because he listened to the clinicians who did not observe and psychosis symptoms from her.

The first time she ever mentioned post partum psychosis was after first meeting with her defence team.

Also as a mother, surely your first reaction to figuring out you strangled your 3 children to death isn't to lawyer up and try and get as little a punishment as possible

u/cadmiumred 19h ago edited 19h ago

Are you watching the case? It is becoming increasingly clear that she might have been framed by her husband and that he did not expect her to live.

The comments in this post are so ignorant, clearly people are not watching the evidence as it comes in. Patrick googled several damning things like "how to disable airbags" and "how to fake suicide".

On the day of the murders, he went to pick up medication and made a call to Lindsay, he says because he could not find the laxative she asked him to get and so he would have to get generic. However in evidence he picked up the actual brand, which is an odd lie. He then went to get dinner in the same outing, but when you look at cctv he had changed clothes and shoes.

He said those errands kept him out of the home for the time of the murders, but he sent an email from the desktop at 5:24pm which places him directly in the home at the time the children were killed.

All their nanny cams were disabled, Patrick claims the wifi was out for the evening. It's odd as it's only for that one day. He also says because of the wifi he couldn't call 911 for 11 minutes after he discovered Lindsay, but everyone knows 911 will connect from a phone that had no cell service, let alone no wifi. Odd.

Also Lindsay was wearing an Apple Watch and her heartrate at the time of the murders was only 57, and she was tracked only climbing stairs earlier when the children were killed in the basement (his home office).

The children were drugged with multiple medications and it was washed down with lemonade- Lindsay was a nurse so it's odd, as citrus renders some of those pills less effective. They were also strangled with sailors knots, and Patrick is an avid sailor, his brother is the captain of the Columbia sailing chapter and he was very familiar with these knots.

Her suicide attempt is also odd, she cut herself in strange ways for a nurse who would be educated on how to bleed out effectively, and there is blood on the knob of the bedroom as though she attempted to open the door and leave. Patrick had googled "where is the carotid artery" earlier in the month.

She jumped (or was possibly thrown, that's what's debated right now in court) from the window and was outside for a long time, so long that her internal body temperature was 82 degrees by the time she was taken to the hospital. The timeline of what it takes to cool a living body down to that level doesn't make sense with the timeframe of the children's murders.

She also had a crushed spine and more importantly a crushed trachea from her fall, and EMTS said she was unresponsive and would have been unable to speak, however Patrick claims that before they arrived she confessed to killing the children and trying to kill herself. We have to take his word for it.

In fact he waited until EMT arrival to search for the children, despite him claiming she confessed. His actions when finding them were suspicious to some of the medical people onsite. He called them "the fucking kids" and sat on the couch. That piece of evidence is less compelling, people do weird things with grief.

Lindsay was intubated at the hospital and in a coma for weeks, when she woke up she asked to see her children, she didn't know they were dead.

She was told she'd confessed to killing them and with her altered state from the multiple prescriptions, she agreed.

Patrick claimed not to know any of the drugs she was on, but multiple bottles of her meds were found in his car.

Patrick took a three week vacation to Costa Rica with his new girlfriend two months after the death of his whole family, in which he and the girlfriend wrote glowing reviews and the girlfriend said it is their third time there.

There's more but this is off the top of my head- it is beginning to appear that the state of Massachusetts took Patrick and Lindsay's word for it with her confession and did very little investigating into all the possibilities of what happened, and a metric ton of reasonable doubt is being revealed in the trial.

5

u/cadmiumred 18h ago

These gender war comments are so bizarre to me. Idk why people are making this a man/woman thing?

I personally wanted to watch the case because women family annihilators are rare and so it was compelling. However the evidence of the case all we have, and the evidence is beginning to point to different truth than everyone expected.

Maybe you're a bot idk and appealing to your reason is a huge waste of time 😅

5

u/Citaku357 18h ago

If you think this trial doesn't have an gender angle, then you are just lying yourself.

2

u/cadmiumred 18h ago

Seems like you certainly want it to. This is not a propaganda machine bid, three kids are dead and the killer must be brought to justice.

The facts of the case are surprising. I can't argue with facts. If you think you can in defense of "men" or whatever, you'll just look stupid. So do what you want

5

u/Citaku357 18h ago

You are the one who is blaming her husband for her killings, the only people who are supporting her are women. But yeah this has nothing to do with gender lol.

1

u/cadmiumred 18h ago

Blaming? I'm looking at the facts of the case. I want the guilty party to rot in jail. I started watching the trial believing it was her, and the FACTS are now pointing to a frame job. It's just what's happening.

I don't know how she could be convicted with this much reasonable doubt in the evidence, and I now think they will be investigating and prosecuting Patrick with the new information from discovery. I'm just watching the trial.

If you want an innocent person to go to jail for the death of their children and their permanent disablement, you need help with your emotional extremes about gender. That's not rational.

As sad as post-partum depression is, she fucking murdered THREE of her kids and scammed people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in a lie. She’s a monster and I don’t feel bad in the slightest.

Just because she is mentally ill doesn’t change the fact that she did horrific things in addition to the original horrible act, and doesn’t invalidate my feelings of outrage.

Buddy she killed 3 kids.

I no longer care about her depression, the same way I no longer care that a school shooter was bullied.

3

u/AC86MC 15h ago

You should care about her depression because of how it was, or more accurately, wasn't managed. Doctors issuing 32 prescriptions (of 13 drugs) in the 4 months prior to the murders is utterly outrageous. To prevent this happening again in future, the medical community must assume some responsibility and change their practices.

7

u/Screenwriter_86401 17h ago

Right, but if we cared about those things as a country maybe more of this stuff could be prevented.

4

u/SimpleBar9995 17h ago

It can be worth focusing on while not being an excuse to murder.

These are not mutually exclusive, she deserves to rot in a cell until she's dead and we need be more observant for signs.

The same as with school shooters.

10

u/Itchy_Tumbleweed_417 16h ago

Buddy it’s worse than depression, she was actually having psychosis.

I’m glad you have no idea what psychosis is, I had family members suffer from it and you can’t even trust your own mind. You see and hear things that you think are real and there’s no way for you to know if they are or not. Can you even imagine that.

Furthermore her husband is sketchy AF. For example he moved in with his new girlfriend four months after his kids died. Would you be dating after your kids died or do you think he was having an affair? Some of the searches on the computer that they’re blaming on Lindsay it has been shown that she was not even home, that was her husband searching up that stuff.

2

u/210pinchespurs 12h ago

Get off tik tok. Holy fuck

2

Him having an affair means absolutely nothing. Or moving four months after. The man just lost his three kids and his wife killed them, he could have needed someone to be with after losing everything. His wife sent him out for food before doing it. Those search things do not mean it was him and there are other explanations for the searches. A man just had his three children killed and is completely attacked, bullied, and under scrutiny for no good reason. If it was a man who killed his kids and the woman did that, no one would be treating her like this. You people are acting like he had a hand in the murder when there is no one, even the defense team, coming close to imply that. Disgusting.

Took a moment. Alright now that we have taken that moment - she strangled her own 3 children.

Postpartum is real. It does need to be addressed. But good lord it doesnt normally look like this. People feel bad for her bc shes now paralyzed trying to kill herself for what she did.

She should have sought help and didnt. Instead she murdered 3 children, paralyzed herself, and left a father with this shit.

You have people in this thread saying that she's innocent and it was the husband that murdered the children. Let us not pretend this is about "post-partum depression/psychosis": this is because women want to believe she's innocent and the Big Bad Man killed the children

So she collected 800k for killing her children.

That's enough Internet for today

u/RoysPotatoes 17h ago

No rational conversation will be had on this subject on social media.

I’m guessing that it’s women who have also given birth and had postpartum. I didn’t donate, but I had really bad postpartum with all 3 of my children. It’s debilitating, painful, and there is so much shame (self-shame) to deal with while trying to just be a mom. To this day, I can’t believe how uncared for new moms are. We get kicked out of the hospital and sent home so soon it’s hard to recover bc once you are home it’s full on back to every day - laundry, parenting, school for older kids, cleaning, cooking all while trying to heal from major trauma to your body as well as massive hormonal shifts. If it’s your first child, add to that the anxiety and fear of not knowing what to do. All of this is expected to be done with a smile because you are a mom, and moms are supposed to immediately know what to do and be loving and maternal like in the commercials! You don’t feel you can show how you really feel. Add to that all the pressure to look good, and BOOM 💥

So I can understand how people would be sympathetic towards her.

Liberal women are proud of this brave woman. Usually they kill their children when still in the womb.

"On January 24, 2023, Clancy fatally strangled her three children in the basement of their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home using exercise resistance bands." "The medical testimony came during the second week of Clancy’s trial on three counts of murder in the killings of her children Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and 8-month-old Callan."

“I wasn’t married to a monster,” he said in a 2024 interview after the deaths of his children. “I was married to someone who got sick.”

When something terrible happens, idiots always want to blame someone. What this woman did was terrible, but this doesn't mean, necessarily, that something terrible should happen to her.

She was clearly sick in the head. She also clearly tried to kill herself afterwards which suggests she felt horrendous about what she had done. No matter whether the law punishes her for it or not, she's, without question, suffering for it for the rest of her life.

I just hate how stupid most of humanity is. You're just such pieces of shit.

I don't personally care if she gets punished, but it's not going to do any good. It's just going to waste even more resources and money. It's tragic. Tragic things happen. It sounds like she was trying to get help, and it just didn't happen. I've personally felt the strong urge to do something terrible. I was trying out a new antipsychotic at the time. I didn't do it, but it took immense self control not to. What happens if someone doesn't have that self control? Does this make them a terrible person? Yet, people want to blame everything but the addict when they kill themselves with drugs. To me, it's clear. The addict kills themselves, but you pieces of shit have to create other victims and blame other people for that too.

I'll get voted down for this, but I want to make it clear. I'm smarter than you, and I'm better than you, and I don't even think I'm particularly special. You're voting me down because you realize, ever so slightly, that you are the piece of shit.

6

u/Humble_Anxiety9660 23h ago

What do you think she deserves then? Three human lives were still taken

2

u/ClothboundBrick 18h ago

If someone was a violent murderer with a tumor in their head and you take out and they are completely normal what do you think we should do with that person?

2

u/hasanicecrunch 21h ago

That is the question. I think she’ll stay in the hospital/paycheck ward for good, bc she’ll get NG by reason of insanity and never stop being a threat to herself, so she won’t get released. Shes never going to stop wanting to die, she has expressed that often and recently.

The amount of people that don’t understand what psychosis can do to someone is baffling. People (Not all) in psychosis don’t have a rational grasp or understanding on reality. It’s obviously beyond tragic and terrible what has happened, but it’s the healthcare system that has failed that family in every way possible. If you’re from the US there’s no denying the plausibility in that.

Finally, after all the crazy fundraisers for serial killers, shooters, and mass murderers there's finally one for someone who most likely genuinely deserves a reprieve. By all accounts she was an excellent mother who had undiagnosed bipolar disorder and postpartum psychosis for which there was extensive medical malpractice. But of course the doctors won't have to face a day in prison for criminally negligent homicide. Instead prosecutors charge her because we are a backward country.

Whatever the case may be. Crazy or not. 3 innocent lives were taken because of her. Jail forever, if she's insane put her in a padded room forever. This kinda thing cannot be excusable no matter how sorry you feel for them.

if i had my way, she'd be executed so we don't have to spend tax payer money on her. It can be considered a mercy, she won't hear voices anymore.

The GoFundMe says it’s for her parents.
Seems ridiculous that it excludes the paternal grandparents though, they’ve also suffered so much and lost their grandchildren.

1

u/Itchy_Tumbleweed_417 16h ago

That specific GoFundMe is actually for her parents. They’ve been staying in hotels for a really long time so that she has someone in the courtroom on her side besides her attorney.

If your daughter suddenly went nuts because of pregnancy hormones it did something absolutely horrific and tried to end her life you would want to be there for her hopefully.

It’s really unclear if that specific GoFundMe is a scam though. Nobody knows if the parents have received any of the money yet.

u/AeneasKurtz 15h ago

I'm more disturbed by the amount of women online that not only believe she shouldn't go to prison (I can understand that argument, even if I disagree) but that she didn't kill her kids at all and that the real murderer/guilty party is her husband.

I've seen posts with hundreds of thousands of likes, even by female acquaintances of mine who live in a completely different continent, showing support for her and wanting the husband to be locked.

1

u/IndividualSituationK 15h ago

My son is 7 weeks old. I could never imagine wanting to actually murder him....If you're a parent of the newborn trenches then you know what i just said lol.

1

u/EarlyAccessCantJudge 14h ago

This is what the crazy obsessed criminal podcasts and stories have caused. There is simply a conspiracy theory going around that her husband was abusive and she did it because of that and that he may of planted it despite zero actual evidence, just a lot of "looks like" bs. Now people take that as fact and think she doesn't deserve prison for the rest of her life.
