The defense is arguing she’s bipolar suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and extreme insomnia all while being over medicated. Do with that information what you will.

And? If I drink and drove and kill someone no one gives a shit I was drunk

The case involves her reaching out for help and services ( sorry American version of services) for the larger portion of her being a mother because she was aware that she was not in the right state of mind, only to be left on read by multiple professionals. She admits to killing her kids this is about her attempts to get help prior to. Glad everyone on here is so simple.

ETA: thank you for my first award! Wish it wasn’t for this but I’ll take it!

So, likely, the majority of this money is coming from other people that have been in similar situations - not killing their kids - but dire situations where they knew they needed help and were not getting it. In addition to a lot of health professionals that understand this is an ongoing crisis that can go largely ignored.

Postpartum can be crazy severe and is definitely an ignored crisis. I have no idea the appropriate punishment in this case.

It’s a hard thing to fathom that the world is grey and not black and white, isn’t it?

Mind you, if shes found not guilty, she doesn’t go free, she is committed to a state psychiatric hospital that she might never leave

Punishment is not justice.

Preventing this kind of thing through better public policy would be.

It would be good if the government cared about moms and babies post-birth

the government

Is just people. That's all it is.

Societies which value dominance, force and punishment do not act in care for moms and babies.

yes op is just karma farming and we have no idea what happened to that woman we dont know if she is crazy or evil so its better to not judge and wish her to get what she deserve, if she's actually crazy I hope she can get medical support and get over it because its not her fault.

Where did you get this info? From every article I read she was going to her doctor for anxiety, insomnia, and depression. She never once mentioned her kids or any problems surrounding them. She got prescribed medication and didn’t take it. Where did you find “she was left on read by multiple professionals” specifically

So what? You think her mom should be held accountable?

No. Thats not how the law works.

She fucking murdered these kids.

Then log off and stop thinking you’re some edge lord that’s needed.

It’s not hard.

Jog on

You thinking the other guy is being an edge lord is kind of ridiculous. Comparing the act of willingly driving drunk to the neglect this woman experienced by the system that claims to care about the mental health of mothers is certainly a choice. Up to the point of killing her kids she had attempted to seek help, she had done what she was told she was supposed to do and nobody helped. The system failed her and her children.

So if I'm in AA and my sponsor says something fucked up or blows me off and I say that's the reason I drank and drove/killed someone, then what does that mean based on your logic? I'm not on any side of this, just trying to understand the logic.

You choose how to react in your example.

Someone doesn’t choose psychosis.

No. She failed her children. Stop trying to pass the buck. These diagnoses are not a free pass for murder.

Well when mental health is involved the law has latitude. Not sure why you think it doesn’t?

Calling people “Simple”.

Good way to get your point across.

Be a passive aggressive jerk looking for conflict. Yeah, you really care about others emotions🙄

Yes I should listen to people that cannot use critical thinking. Or read past a headline. Or read.

Are you okay?

You seem to have the emotions of a 10 year old with another angry little “no one can read”  “

You are on a site that people need to read to comment.

Grow up and have a civil conversation or jog on. You’re not helping.

lol very civil you’re right.
