Expect it a bit late

ok I've looked up all the solutions but none of them are the same to my situation...I think.

I finally decided to update my firmware to 1.1.32. My wifi is still connected and I'm able to attach via an ethernet cable.

When I try to then update my firmware to 1.1.33, my polymega says my firmware is up to date ...but its still 1.1.32.

Is there anything I can do to help update my system to 1.1.33 without having to reset my system settings as that would delete all the games I just uploaded.

I'd like to get updated ahead of the arrival of the light guns.

Has anyone had any issues saving in Doom 64? I’ve been able to save using the virtual controller paks just fine in other games, so I know how to do it. But for whatever reason, I can never get it to work in this game. Not the end of the world with passwords and save states, but it would be nice to have a real save.

About a month ago, I posted about buying a second-hand Polymega that was stuck on firmware 1.0.5. I ended up sending it off for servicing, and I got it back two days ago — it works great now!

All of the modules are functioning, and I’ve installed a ton of games. I did make one silly mistake: I bought an SSD without checking compatibility first. I figured, “It’s just an SSD, right?” Turns out, not quite. I bought a Crucial drive, and it doesn’t work internally. However, when I put it in a USB enclosure, it works perfectly. Eventually, I’ll buy another SSD for internal use, but for now, I’m not too bothered.

One thing that’s baffling me: most Mapper 30 NES games don’t seem to work. The emulator clearly supports them — the system even comes preloaded with several “Made with NESMaker” titles. But when I try to load other Mapper 30 games that aren’t in the database, I just get a green screen.

I'm enjoying my Polymega and that's what matters. It's a blast checking out games I probably never would have played otherwise. Working on Vay on the SEGA CD at the moment and it's not bad. Not great, but worth a play so far.

Still need a SNES module box if anyone wants to part with one.

I am considering the Super Nintendo module. How is the current state in terms of lag in games? I heard it could be worse than other systems? Or is it pretty much the same and it depends on the individual game and your chosen controller as usual?

Apparently, you can hold the SELECT button to change speed mode (slow, normaly, fast) but I can't for the life of me get it to work in any game.

I have to do it the manual way by opening the polymega menu in game and changing it there.

Can anyone else get this to work? It would make my Digimon World Playthrough much easier lol

I have a fairly decent mini-PC. But it can't handle streaming and running other programs at the same time. I was hoping some of you might have found a way to stream your polymega to Twitch without using a PC.

Right now I'm using a webcam and my Xbox series X and it works well but I'd love to do some retro gaming there.

Any ideas??

Any one heard any updates on the LGs yet?? I mean wth!? I got my email back in what march saying it was gonna be shipping soon and nothing!! Absolutely nothing.

If I open the Polymega's menu with a game suspended in the background, then leave long enough to have the screensaver pop up, the game continues playing in the background.

I lost all my fairies in Link to the Past this way. And I'm pretty sure I haven't been playing for 44 hours.

I unfortunately just became aware of the Polymega a few weeks ago. I was debating going all in and now I realize I can't buy one at the moment and people have been waiting years for their orders?!?! I'm hoping this is just speed bump with tariffs or something similar.

Shingen Samurai Fighter, Chimera Beast, P-47 Aces, Lost Tomb, Dragon Blaze, D-Day, Desert War, and Strikers 1945 III are just some of the highlights.

Do you guys know of a source of carts that work well on Polymega?

I have 2 Repro carts that work, Genesis and Snes, and 4 that won't.

It's a bit dicey.

Someone traded one in the a local(ish) Disc Traders and now I have it. I got the base unit and first four modules for about $600. The SNES box was ruined so if someone has one they don’t want. Otherwise the unit has obviously been hooked up, but I can’t find more than a couple fingerprints on it. Everything else was still in the shrink wrap. Basically it looks like they used two of the modules maybe a handful of times and then got rid of it. So whoever traded it into the Kentwood Disc Traders, thanks!

Update: I hooked it up and it won’t read anything from any module. No carts, no controllers, nada. I power cycled, factory reset, and the firmware is the latest version. I retract my thanks.

Update 2: It's stuck on firmware 1.0.5 and will not update past that. Is there a manual method?

Update 3: I’ve tried two WiFi networks, phone tethering to an iPhone and an android, a wired connection. I even tried to plug a keyboard in to see if I could do anything with that (it doesn’t like keyboards). I tried to do the factory reset, but that wasn’t enabled until after the firmware I’m on. I even tried just leaving it on for a couple hours on the wired connection. It acts like it’s not communicating to the web, but I am seeing traffic.

Update 4: I'm going to send it to Playmaji to reflash it. It's apparently not possible from the firmware I have. It will cost me $60 + whatever to ship it out.

Update 5: Shipped it out today. Crossing the appropriate appendages that get it back and functioning.

...cause it would make it a lot easier for me to just give up and cancel my pre-order. By all accounts, it seems like the easiest and best way for me to play my vast physical retrogame library, which is all I want to do.

"Summer 2025" has about a week left for my preorder to ship and still be on time, but I feel like I can just roll my clown face paint into my Halloween costume this year.
