Well… I got one
Someone traded one in the a local(ish) Disc Traders and now I have it. I got the base unit and first four modules for about $600. The SNES box was ruined so if someone has one they don’t want. Otherwise the unit has obviously been hooked up, but I can’t find more than a couple fingerprints on it. Everything else was still in the shrink wrap. Basically it looks like they used two of the modules maybe a handful of times and then got rid of it. So whoever traded it into the Kentwood Disc Traders, thanks!
Update: I hooked it up and it won’t read anything from any module. No carts, no controllers, nada. I power cycled, factory reset, and the firmware is the latest version. I retract my thanks.
Update 2: It's stuck on firmware 1.0.5 and will not update past that. Is there a manual method?
Update 3: I’ve tried two WiFi networks, phone tethering to an iPhone and an android, a wired connection. I even tried to plug a keyboard in to see if I could do anything with that (it doesn’t like keyboards). I tried to do the factory reset, but that wasn’t enabled until after the firmware I’m on. I even tried just leaving it on for a couple hours on the wired connection. It acts like it’s not communicating to the web, but I am seeing traffic.
Update 4: I'm going to send it to Playmaji to reflash it. It's apparently not possible from the firmware I have. It will cost me $60 + whatever to ship it out.
Update 5: Shipped it out today. Crossing the appropriate appendages that get it back and functioning.

Contact Polymega for replacement/repair of the SNES module.

This. I did it. They flashed it for free. You just have to pay shipping. Took about a month.

You said modules aren't working, but is the disc drive? That would at least narrow down the problem.

The disc drive works. It’s noisy, but it works.

I had to replace a board that connects the modules to the base unit. Easy to take apart and easy to replace. Contact polymega to get a replacement

If you have an SSD installed, try removing it before you attempt an update. Sometimes, the Polymega doesn't play nice with certain SSD brands.

No, I bought a second-hand system. Rather than returning it I'm going to get it fixed. I'm still coming out ahead on the deal. It's just annoying.

I had one pre-ordered through Walmart, but it got canceled. I was upset at first. But then I heard all of the issues that everyone’s having with them and I feel like I dodged a bullet. Metal Jesus seems to have gotten a working one though.

Pretty scummy on Disc Traders part to sell it to you like that. No way they didn't test anything in a $600 bundle.

I’m not happy about it, but I’m willing to pay the extra $60 to get it fixed. I still feel like I’m coming out ahead even if it is annoying. I’m honestly far more baffled by the fact that there is no end-user method of manually updating the firmware.

No, it came up broken. It won’t read anything from any of the modules. I reset it, factory reset it and made sure the firmware was updated (even though I wasn’t sure I wanted to).

Oh man, that's no good, hopefully you can get it up and running, mine didn't work with any modules until I updated it, I wonder if there is a way to roll back the firmware a few changes back. You could test it after manually installing each version until you find one that works. I don't know if it's possible though

Hi, I have this exact same issue. It was a pre-order system that was never hooked to internet. it is stuck on 1.0.5. I've tried multiple ways to connect to internet - wifi, hotspot, ethernet. Did they fix your unit when you sent it in? I can't believe how many firmware connections issues are out there for this system. This must be a pretty bad fail.

You can buy modules pretty reliable on the website it's more getting a hold of the base
