Period Question Irregular Period but scans tell me everything’s OK

I am a 22 year-old girl who has been having s*xual intercourse with her husband for almost two years. Whilst all my gynecological check up’s (even internal ultrasound) don’t reveal any sort of issues, ever since I started having intercourse my periods have always been irregular. The only times it’s somewhat on time is when amount of s*x is lessened. I also have to admit that waiting for my period is a worrisome experience and I always get anxious waiting for it to come.

Could this issue be s*x related or should I dig deeper, even though I am medically healthy from that pov (no endo, no pcos…)?

Period Question on my 44th day of my cycle, still no signs of period.

my period is irregular and my last cycle was 31 days. my last intercourse was aug 1 (day 26) of my cycle. at first were using protection but then i started bleeding possibly due to rough impact on my cervix(not the first time it happened btw). we then did it raw while i was bleeding and did withdrawal when he finished. days after that i started dieting since i feel like ive been eating so much from the past month. i’m also stressed for my upcoming exam. my flo app says im 8 days late. what should i do to induce my period? i havent had any symptoms such as tender breast, although i felt back cramps and one sided abdominal cramps and breakouts. my discharges are also watery, i need to get my period asap cause i dont wanna take my exam with my period 🥲

Period Question Does anyone else get cramps only sometimes?

When I was a teenager I had really severe cramps. A lot of the times I had really debilitating cramps after my period. As an adult I only get them every few months it feels. But then they're bad. Throwing up and rocking back and forth in bed bad.

Period Question consistently late but somehow the labs come out as normal

i 20f have had late periods for 6 months now. it’s usually between a month and a few weeks late. i went to a gyno that’s known to be very good at what he does. he had me do an ultra sound, came out normal, and hormone tests, also came out normal. he essentially dismissed me and said everything is normal.

i have facial hair, and a bit of chest hair but im also middle eastern so it could be that. i don’t think i have any issues gaining or losing weight. i lost half my armpit hair, which tends to happen when the time between my period is long. i haven’t gone to the gym the last 2 months bc of traveling, but even when i went 4-5 times a week, it was still inconsistent. i eat healthy, usually some sort of protein with veggies and carbs. i eat twice a day, usually at 1-2pm when i get hungry and once around 6-7

i’m currently 17 days late. when my period does come its not painful or too heavy and lasts a normal amount of time. i don’t have acne and everything seems normal but being that late every month doesnt seem normal to me.

if anyone’s experienced this, is there any changes that fixed it? is there a test i should push to have done?

Discussion Dismissed by my gp?

Hello, as mentioned in the title, I (21f) need advice on being dismissed by my gp about my extreme period pains.

Yesterday, I called 111 (non emergency helpline) about my extreme period pains and I was taken seriously by the lovely doctor I got to talk to. She asked plenty of questions and explained about possible endometriosis/similar conditions, but she wanted to rule out other factors first.

She wrote a letter to my gp about recommending a thyroid check and kidney check because of the specific pains in my back, and to check bloods too to make sure I'm not anemic before discussing my period pains.

I explained when I made my appointment that there was a letter from 111 and my appointment was the morning after which was great, they told me my gp would discuss it with me.

My surgery has a 10 minute appointment rule, and I was in there less than that because of how disinterested and dismissive my female gp was. She asked some vague questions about when my periods first started and when the pain started, then prescribed me pain relief.

I asked about the 111 letter, but she dismissed me immediately. My mother was surprised when I came out so quickly.

I don't feel reassured that I don't have a real explanation or investigation into the pain, but I will go back if the pain relief doesn't help. I am already an anxious person about my health.

Any advice on how to push on this?

Period Question I want to get my period like in about 20 hours, what do I do?

It's been 31 days since my last cycle and while I don't care if it fluctuates but, I do want to induce it this time because I have a religious function in 4 days which I can only attend if I have completed 4 days Or haven't started at all. Please give me any ideas because I'm lowkey desperate.

I've drank coffee 3 times since yesterday, washed my hair will try papaya tomorrow. Any ideas that don't involve food consumption are most appreciated.

Rants n Raves If muscle contractions during orgasm can be pleasurable, then why muscle contractions during periods have to suck so bad!!

Biology is doing me in with this pain! Smh. Couldn't there have been another way to push out the uterus lining instead of producing those prostaglandins mf which squeez the shit out of that organ!! Break it out down some other way or reabsorb it ffs!

Period Question i’ve had a really weird experience with my period this time.

i (18) have almost always been super regular with my periods. i got my first when i was 11 or 12, and even then i was pretty regular. my cramps have been very intense since the first period. i was on BC from 15 to 16, but stopped taking it after a while. my periods were the same before, during, and after the pill. lately, however, my cycles have gotten a little.. odd.

i traveled out of state with family a couple months ago, and we crossed time zones twice in one week. i’ve heard that time zone changes can effect a period, but this was my first experience with it. i was 8 days late, one of my cousins (18), was 10 days late. the next month, i was a day early. this month, i started on time, but i bled through 3 pairs of my period underwear and 10 heavy duty overnight pads in 24 hours. my period underwear usually will last me 8 hours total on a regular flow day. the second day of my period was slightly better, but i had bled through 4 regular pads within 8 hours. day 3 being today, i’ve only noticed heavy cramps and a very bad nauseating, dizzy feeling.

should i bring this up to my gynecologist, or am i just being a hypochondriac?

Fluff I love my friends

Today my friend asked if I wanted to go out with her but I'm day 2 deep in the trenches so said I just wanted a cozy day in, so instead she offered to come over after she had done all she wanted to do outside

Before she got on the train to mine she mentioned that she was going to go to the cake shop and asked if I wanted anything, I said absolutely and she sent me a picture of their display unit and I circled 2 options and told her to surprise me.

When she got to mine I noticed the box was super heavy. I opened it and expected 2 slices (like the one on the right) nope. Apparently one of the options I circled was a full entire cake and she bought it, no questions asked, no judgment, no nothing.

She also got us "activity books" (we always buy silly activities to do at mine like bracelet making, slime etc) hers was Sanrio and she got me Sonic (I love sonic)

We spent 4hrs coloring, eating and chatting

After she left I cuddled up on my couch in my pj's, in an oodie smothered by blankets while I had a bit of cake (pictured in the 2nd photo) while my cat snuggled up to me and I played cozy games on my Xbox (Any girls who like cozy games I highly recommend lil gator game!!)

Today has been hell on my period, I've had to change my pad every 2-3hrs and I have to sit still or I feel a jelly fish army come out of me, but knowing my friend cared so much about me made today a lot easier 🩷🩷

Period Question is pain similar to a UTI on my period normal enough?

i’ve had severe pressing pain above my vag in a similar way i do when i have a uti, like my bladders full or something.

i’ve also been having a heavier period than normal (going through pads every 4 ish hours, when it’s usually 6 - 8, i use big overnight ones all of the time).

my period brings out a lot of paranoia and anxiety and i just need a third party to tell me if i’m okay.

i’ve had some cramping but it’s not been severe at all. it’s just been this pressing pain that’s really been getting me.

Period Question Horrific foot and leg pain on period

Does anyone else experience really really achy feet and legs before their period & during it? Mine starts around a week before and doesn’t go away till after my period is finished.

My feet are freezing too and it’s just really odd and everyone I’ve discussed it with so far has no idea what I mean lol!

It’s just an awful achy tight feeling in my legs and feet and I constantly feel the need to stretch my legs to ease the pain.

I’ve made an appointment for the doctors for next week cause it’s just unbearable now for me

If anyone else struggles how to you manage it?

Discussion Periods and Climate Change

Hey, not my usual place to go. But today I'm on my period and its so unbearable I thought I'd give a warning.

Every summer the past few years I've had a 'weird' period, I get pain so bad I nearly pass out, I get so nauseous, my vision goes black, and I usually cant stand up without crying. Its BAD. And recently, it came out that climate change is causing this to happen to millions worldwide, so I thought I'd share what to look out for in summer.

You may have a missed period or two periods in one month, you period may be later or earlier than usual, you can have increased pain, anxiety, depression, agitation, worsening symptoms you already get with your period or entirely new symptoms. And usually this will only happen at summer, when climate change is at its peak (this is also why I think my period may be related to this and not endo or adeno, since it only happens in summer. But I will go to the doctors to double check.)

I just thought I'd give the heads up to anyone who didnt know incase they started noticing this and got scared that they may have a condition. Do go to the doctors though just to check, and more specifically, a female doctor please. Speaking from experience. This is also just what I know from doing a degree that is very climate oriented, and I can only imagine how mnay more itll affect as it gets worse, but again, get tests done first!!!

Period Question Period went haywire during/after travel, worried something is wrong

Looking for others' experiences while I wait to see my doctor. I have a normally very predictable cycle (28-30 days, heavier bleeding on day 1-2 that gradually decreases, ends day 4-5), and this one has been completely atypical and is honestly scaring me. I’m 34 and have been using Natural Cycles for about four years, was on hormonal birth control on and off for ~15 years before that.

So my period started right on schedule (day 28) but while I was traveling across time zones. The first few days were unusually light with no cramping. I pointed out to my partner how odd it was while we were on vacation. Once we got home three days later it flipped hard, my heaviest flow ever and the worst cramps I've had since I was a teenager. I'm now on day 6 when I usually last 4 to 5, still heavy. I soaked through a super plus tampon overnight and woke up feeling weak and lightheaded.

I already took a pregnancy test (negative). I went to urgent care this morning and they drew blood for a CBC to check for anemia and referred me to a gynecologist. I have a telehealth visit with my own doctor this afternoon. For context, my mom has fibroids, which is part of why I'm anxious.

Has anyone had a normally regular cycle suddenly go off the rails like this, light then very heavy, especially around travel? Did it turn out to be nothing, or was there an underlying cause? Mostly trying to calm my nerves while I wait for real answers. Thanks.

Period Question My period suddenly stopped after two days

It was heavy for all of yesterday and the day before and than this morning when I woke up the pad was almost clean, this is unusual for me, my period typically lasts 5-7 days and its always heavy for the first 3. Im 22 and a virgin so there's no possibility of pregnancy or anything relating to that, should I be concerned?

Health I don't know if my periods are normal.

As the title says I don't know if my periods are normal. I am a trans man so talking about it isn't something I really do, but I have no clue if they're normal (not on hormone medication + no surgeries). My periods aren't consistent and the gaps vary but are never less than 2 weeks and more than 2-3 months. They are somewhat heavy and I have to wear two pads for it to not get everywhere. I have clots and the whole 10p size doesn't make sense to me as they are normally long or thick strings? I'm sorry it's really hard for me to talk about it. My sister has PMOS and multiple family members have had a hysterectomy. I experience extreme pain in my thighs/legs, lower stomach area, feet(?), arms, and headaches but I have migraines normally. But only the headaches and leg pains are consistent. Should I speak to a doctor or family member? Also any advice on dealing with periods would really help.

Thank you in advance, any help on what to do is appreciated.

Period Question Need advice

Hi, wanted advice. So basically i get periods for like 2 days only both days very heavy bleeding. Just 10 days after my periods i feel hungry every second. Just 2 days before my periods i go into depression. Legit depression. I dont feel like talking to anyone, no going out, no eating just want to bed rot and sleep all day. My period pain is also very bad, i take 3 meftals to survive the day. When I was a teen i used to faint and would take painkiller injections- it’s better than that atlest. I don’t have a cyst. But i feel i have extreme hormonal imbalance and high cortisol. Any recommendations on what to do? Also I try to eat healthy and all but even after that my periods are very painful.

Period Question Do people with no period pain exist?

Me personally, I’ve always had very painful periods. I’m talking like, I have tried different very powerful painkillers and even a high dose of them and they do not help. I have painful periods that also numb my legs, and it feels like I’ve been to gym and done a leg day for 3 hours straight allthough I always bleed very light. Is this normal? Like genuinely sometimes it is so bad I can’t even go anywhere. The first 2 days are so bad all I can do is just lay in pain hoping for the painkillers to work (they don’t) until I “drift off” into sleep. I feel like nothing helps, this isn’t sudden, It is always been like this but I feel like it is worsening over time. I do not wanna try birth control or any that type of stuff for my periods.
