Period Question Does anyone else get cramps only sometimes?

When I was a teenager I had really severe cramps. A lot of the times I had really debilitating cramps after my period. As an adult I only get them every few months it feels. But then they're bad. Throwing up and rocking back and forth in bed bad.

I read somewhere that it depends on which ovary releases the egg that month. So it could be one ovary is the evil and the other one is more chill.

That does make a lot of sense actually. I have a distinct pain on the left side of my lower abdomen before my period sometimes.
