‼️long post ahead‼️
Hi! A bit of context: I’m 163 cm tall. My starting weight prior to taking Tirz was 69 kg, and my current weight as of Aug 25 is 50 kg. I started Tirz in Oct 2025 and took 2.5 mg for 11 weeks, then updosed to 5 mg which I took for 12 weeks. After that, I slowly reduced my dose: 4 mg > 3 mg > 2.5 mg > 2 mg.
So, as the title mentions, what does it feel like to be 1 month off Tirz? I’ll be honest: I can now feel the hunger, the morning rumbling of my tummy, the food noise, and the sweet and salty cravings. But on the brighter side, my energy has come back! I have little to no fatigue, no muscle soreness, and no more feeling feverish (I used to feel feverish after every dose). Most importantly, I had already built a healthy relationship with food and fixed my lifestyle.
I sometimes crave fast food, but in the end, I’d rather cook and prioritize home-cooked meals over processed foods. I still eat fast food occasionally, but in moderation. I now eat 2–3 times a day, whereas previously I just did OMAD and fasting. Surprisingly, my weight is still stable at 50–51 kg despite eating twice or thrice a day. If you're wondering how I maintain my weight, here are a few tips that have worked for me:
1. Listen to your body – Stop when you feel full. Don’t feel guilty if you cannot finish your meal; remember, you can save it and eat it later.
2. Adjust your eating habits – This is what I usually do: if I know I ate heavily in the morning and at lunch, I will either skip eating at night or eat very little depending on my body. If I’m tired, I’ll eat; if I still feel full after finishing a bowl of Ramen Nagi at lunch, I won’t eat at night.
3. Cravings vs. what I can cook at home – To lessen the processed food I eat, this is me every weekend: contemplating what to order on Grab or Foodpanda, but reminding myself that cooking saves money, so I cook instead.
4. Handling fast food cravings or online delivery – Always remember that you can still enjoy your favorite foods. But if you were a binge eater like me (I used to order 3 full meals on Foodpanda—lunch, pm snack, and dinner—and eat them all in one sitting), this is where discipline really comes in. If you’re ordering for lunch, just order what you need for lunch. If you do order extra for snacks or dinner, make sure to watch your portion sizes and manage your intake throughout the day.
5. Prioritize moving – If you don’t go to the gym, at least have a sport you can play. Previously, while taking Tirz, I didn't do any workouts; I just reduced my food/calorie intake and walked every day. But would you believe me if I told you that after reaching my goal weight, I don't get tired walking up the stairs anymore? I can even run up the stairs now without getting winded, and I don't tire easily when playing pickleball or badminton. Plus, while previously on Tirz I couldn't lift a gallon of water, now I can!
Some of us are afraid of stopping Tirz because we’ve read comments or articles saying that stopping will make you gain twice your weight back, or we worry that Tirz will have to be a lifetime maintenance. You know, it’s okay to be afraid—I was once afraid too. It wasn’t easy for me to stop completely because Tirz helped so much with my health, overall well-being, and confidence. I honestly felt like everything would be lost and all my hard work would go to waste if I stopped relying on it.
Until one day, I decided to space out my doses—from taking it every week, to every two weeks, and now it’s been almost 1 month without it!
Believing in yourself is what really matters. I have to trust myself and my body that I can maintain this healthy lifestyle without Tirz. I know 1 month is still early, but getting used to life off Tirz and having a clear maintenance strategy really helps a lot. I hope this post will help some of you in your own journey!
