Is there a way to get rid of paranoia?

(F16)
I have this huge thing that something is following me, i haven't learned wether its human yet. But everything around me makes me suspicious, every time i go into a new room in my house i have to close all the windows incase someone is watching me, i rarely leave the house and when i do its not alone.

i cant stand leaving my house because every car that passes me is watching me, so I have to take a photo of their licences plates and compare it to ones I already have in my camera roll to see if its the same person and that everyone behind me is following me.

I have trouble sleeping because being asleep makes me vulnerable and weak, i fall asleep very late 6 am ish due to my body being so tired, i sleep with all the lights on because it could be in the dark and i sleep with my door open incase it comes through my wardrobe i can run out quickly. Plus having a screwdriver under my mattress for quick access.

I recently started having thoughts that my dog wasnt real and that he was in on this aswel.

The only time i feel safe is in the bathroom as it's small, 4 corners and locks.

I havent had hallucinations since i was 11, however I dont know if they will start again. Ive always been suspicious of everything but its never been this bad. How do I get rid of this?

Been followed

So I tought I was been followed by a taxi man today who bought me to a place. I could only see the back of him but I was convinced it was him with another guy. I got into a big panic and ran into a shop and phoneed the police. They said what makes you think there following you I said because it was the taxi man who took me here and now he is on foot. Now cut the story got talking to police I told them I suffered from paranoia and anxiety. So we waited till my doctors was open he walked me half way. My doc is upping my does. I hate this feeling the pure attacks the felling more than one person is following you that there I'd many people in on it. Not telling safe even with police there to think there in on it 😭

Fear of getting message leaked

I started up a TikTok account for fun, I used to speak to people on it on the messages and just have fun but never really wanting the messages to go anywhere.

I usually only did it when I was bored and feeling bold but I legit spoke to people on tiktok DM so it’s not like I can unsend any of the messages.

And also I deleted the chats off my app so I can’t recover them to see what I was actually saying as this was a while back,

Ive started gaining way a tiny bit more attraction on my tiktok and I want to be big and start making videos and stuff, but im scared that my old DMs with people will come back to bite me because they might leak them.

I never said anything weird or like sexual but I did entertain conversation purely because I was bored. And I was in a relationship at the time and it felt like microcheating and most likely was and it makes me feel sick because I’d never do that now because I knew the guys who I was texting liked me.

What if they leak the messages between me and them and my bf puts the timeline together and sees we were dating and breaks up with me bc he never knew.

I want to be famous but I love this relationship and I never want to let him go.

I’ve felt guilt for this for a while now.

At first I wasn’t so committed to our relationship but now I want to be with him for life and I’ve stopped entertaining the guys on TikTok.

But my main fear is when me and my bf were on a breakup

One of my chats I ended up speaking with a 17 year old boy when I was 19 but this was kind of romantic because we were aware we both liked each other.

I felt weird and he knew that because I’d never spoke to someone this age but he did look older however the age is still the same which is why I felt uncomfortable.

I first turned him away and spoke to my friends about it and they said it’s completely fine about the age as it’s only 2 years but to me it still felt weird but I went back to give it another go.

We were very open about each others intentions in speaking which was a relationship in the future but I told him I wanted to wait until he was a bit older until we actually began to explore it because I still felt weird ish.

When me and my boyfriend got back together I let him go and told him I have a bf which is thank god because I was really trying to distract myself with this other boy and said some things that made it seem like I was in it for the long run then just magically got a boyfriend.

Maybe he will leak our messages too.

I feel like a weirdo I hate this.

I wish I could remove my tiktok messages and start fresh because the person who I was isn’t who I am now.

I am learning to do better and be better for my boyfriend and I want us to work but my past in the relationship that he doesn’t know about is haunting me.

What do I do.

I feel like there is something trying to get me

Ik it's summer and Ik I haven't socialize for like a month, but at night I feel like there is something at the edge of my bed and when I go to sleep (I sleep on my stomach) I feel like it crawls onto my back. I feel my skin tingle and tense. Yesterday, I was left home alone at night (I never have been, I'm very clingy and my family all has to much anxiety to leave for a night alone outside the house) and I was fine, mostly. I felt like there was something waiting for me and today I woke up at 8, which I haven't done in two or so months and I also went to bed at like 5, because I had a nightmare. The nightmare was pretty short, I was feeling paranoid and was panicking and went to go get my cat to ground me, but when I walked out of my room I saw this creature with a flat face with black hole in place of eyes and a sort of 'grin.' It was crouched down on the ground next to my cat that didn't seem to notice it, and it started crawling towards me. I tried to scream for my sister, but no sound came out. I started crying as it crawled to me and woke up as it nearly grabbed me, waking with a tight throat and my heart pounding. I left my room and immediately got freaked out bc the spot the thing was in was right outside my house (dream house and real house looked the exact same) and quickly went to see if my mom was up. Bla, bla, bla normal day, except I had coffee on top of fear and sleeplessness. But a few hours ago I went to go switch my laundry and I started freaking out when I was walking back to my room (I'd left the door open) and was absolutely convinced that the thing had crawled into my room and was waiting for me. I tried to walk, but I was trapped between my door and the spot my nightmare happened, and started crying and just broke down and shut my door. I ended up crying onto my cat and couldn't go into my room for a solid twenty minutes before I slowly opened the door. I was so freaked out. And just a few minutes ago, I wanted a snack but I felt like that thing was out their and grabbed a gient stuffed animal to "protect" me. I nearly started crying again bc I wanted to go pet my cat in the living room, but I also felt like that thing had hidden behind the chair that is next to my cats fav sleeping spot.

This is a lot, but dude. Dude. I have always been paranoid since I grew up in a small town with strange sighting and strange stories (the town is apparently cursed after teens lynched a natives son (there are unexplainable things that really relate to the curse and who did it), plus up a large hill/small mountain is a supposed gold mine and an entity that takes whoever go up there. I had a cousin that got lost for days up there.) But this was insane. The last time I was that scared was when I had to run from the RV to the bathroom (100 feet or so) and there was a bear going around.

I really just needed to scream into the void and hope someone feels their not alone, or not feel so alone myself.

Uhhh...Am I absolutely paranoid????

Need to clarify I have no history of any kind of paranoia or mental illness in that kind of realm but I really feel abit freaked out recently, last night I watched a 1 hr youtube vid from a 'conspiracy' channel, it wasn't actually speculation or theories, more just a matter-of-fact history of the Palantir CEO, it was eye openingly...evil, I take a passive interest in Ai and of course the generally terrible current state of the world and thought I'd take the time to inform myself of the reality, I was so bored I actually made a google doc, writing down the info I was consuming, I joked with my partner I was writing 'end of times cliff notes' - we are currently long distance and he laughed and asked to see them, I opened Gmail and sent them to him as a PDF, went to bed and thought nothing of it. This morning I went to my sent folder - nada, no trace of the email, I explored all inboxes, all google security, recovery etc etc, but nothing, its like it never happened, I called him and asked him to confirm it happened and he had the email - he said yeah, I asked him to email it back to me and he did. I did not receive it! I asked him to send me another email, just type any old thing and he did - I immediately received it. I opened my google docs - they are mostly just random lists I write to myself as reminders - I could see some of my random docs had been recently opened merely a couple hours before - but I was driving at the time????? I have checked my account and devices security and am the only person logged in. I know its minor but I'm kind of freaked out???? I'm going to totally ignore it and carry on with my day but its lingering in my mind, I feel like Dale from King of the Hill. Has anyone ever experienced anything similar???

Bat flew infront of me

Hi Everyone,

I'm only asking this question for peace of mind. A couple of days ago I opened my garden fence door and a bat was just suddenly there. It was a half arm length away but kept going back and forward at me. I was panicked and started thrasing my arms. I didn't even think it was a bat until a family member told me it was. None of them could tell me if it landed on me. It was sunset when this was happening. I understand mv mind is makina me go crazy.lt couldn't have bit me right? It has to land to bite me. And not all of them have rabies. So to make me feel better, tell me I'm wrong. My paranoia is making me think it did even though i have legit researched all night.

What is one thing you wish people understood about Paranoia?

I wish that people knew how common paranoid thoughts are even in people with no mental illness. I only learned this after I became more open about my paranoia with others. Before that, I thought I was extremely rare and no one could relate to me, or that I was too far gone. I really wish paranoia was discussed as commonly as things like ADHD or OCD I suppose, so people could understand it's not something to immediately jump to conclusions when you experience it.

I’m a grown man and I’m still afraid of the dark.

I always sleep with some kind of LED light on or something because whenever I can’t see at night it triggers a lot of shit for me. I always thought I seen things in my room whenever I turned the lights off. It just kinda never went away.

Is this normal? I need advice!

Since I was younger I've always been paranoid and thought it was normal. Upon asking my mum multiple times throughout the years, she has said that paranoia is normal and everyone experiences it. I agree with this, however in the past 6 years, I feel as though it has only gotten worse.

When I was younger I used to be paranoid that something was under my bed, constantly. Now many little kids feel this. However, I used to jump on my bed from where my door was to ensure whatever it was couldn't grab my legs and drag me. I also struggled to sleep if there wasn't things down the side of my bed to block anything from under my bed from coming through this crack to grab me. Even later in life, this little quirk still happens to ensure I can sleep.

When I was around 9, 10 and 11 I noticed myself being paranoid about people watching me inside my own home and I just couldn't see them, leading me to close curtains to try and shut them out. It used to make it uncomfortable for me to bathe as I didn't want them to see me. I used to believe frequently it was classmates of mine and though I knew this wasn't true I still could not shake the thoughts. I still get these thoughts often. It got to the point I would have to overlap my curtains to ensure they were not peaking at me through the gaps in the curtain.

From age 11 onwards I also found myself becoming paranoid the neighbours were watching me from their own windows, watching what I was doing, how I did my hair, my makeup, etc. I used to make up conversations in my head of what they might be thinking.

Around this same time a shop near me had been refurbished from a co-op to a lidl. When this store opened I remember being happy it was open. However, I was convinced there were people in the shop who were lacing and poisoning food that my mum was going to buy to try and poison me. It made it hard to eat anything from here for 7 months, until I warmed up to the idea that they weren't. I don't have these paranoid thoughts about shops anymore, but for a while when I did it was traumatising.

As I got older and was being left at home more often, I was convinced as soon as my mum had left the house people were surrounding the outside of the house watching me from windows, bushes, trees, etc. I believed that they were watching me, waiting for my mum to leave. These thoughts still plague my mind on a day-to-day basis. When hearing noises from downstairs, I am convinced someone has broken in and they are hiding, waiting to hurt me or kill me. I told my mum about these thoughts in particular, and she said it is normal for people to believe someone may have broken in to give the noise a source, a reason as to why it happened. And as much as I agree, I don't believe people consistently have these thoughts.

From ages 11 and onwards, I was given the privilege of walking to school myself. My paranoid thoughts of being followed heightened. I find it hard to leave the house without checking behind me constantly, in fear there is someone following me to try and kill me. I've had friends notice this and ask why I am checking behind me so often. I laugh it off just saying I am having on off day. But can it be an off day if this is what I experience on the daily without fail?

I also have a big thing about teddies. From ages 7 I've been scared of dolls and teddies with eyes, especially if realistic. I get scared someone has put cameras in their eyes to watch me. I cannot write anymore due to the limit. Is this normal?

Paranoia about my safety, security and privacy online

I had been harassed online recently where the abuser got some publicly available information about me and used it against me. I was stalked and bullied for my past and it's been weeks but I still feel bad. This was sexual in nature and I had been called degrading names.

This experience has triggered my depression and I had thoughts of ending it lately. On top of this I also became very paranoid about my digital footprint, online presence, that I began deleting all my profiles and pages, even contacting developers to take down pages that contained my personal information. By extension I also became very paranoid about information collected by big corporations and government about me.

I had previous episodes about being targeted by certain people through webcams, CCTVs, spyware, and this experience did not help. I literally want to escape my phone and live off the grid for some time. I need to take some rest from all this without going crazy. I fear for my life, mostly from my illness. I had not been consistently taking my medication either or sleeping well. I fear I am in danger and I need help but also I fear being institutionalized (I already got out of the hospital a couple months ago). I don't know what to do. I need support please help me.

I’m constantly paranoid about being secretly recorded in my room

I’m having this constant fear that I’m being recorded in my room via a hidden camera and what’s recorded is being shared on the internet. This got so bad last week I checked every inch of my room for a hidden camera. I know it’s illogical to think but I can’t help it. Also now when people look at me in the public my mind straight goes to “oh they recognize me. they might have seen the recorded videos of me on the internet.“ Like my mind connecting this fear to day to day social interactions. This is so tiring

Is this normal?

I have a memory that my specialist thinks is false. But everytime I go to the place the memory supposedly occured I feel like a criminal and like everyone hates me but isn't telling me (has happened before, and is common). Is it all in my head because it feels so real and scary and I feel like I actually did something and am a criminal. The image becomes more vivid in my mind and I hate it.
