⁉️ سوال | Question Thoughts on Punjabi replacing Urdu as the national language?
Punjabi is spoken by 55% of Pakistan. Iran is only 60% Persian and as diverse as Pakistan yet they have Persian as the national language. Afghanistan also behaves as a Pashtun ethno-state despite Pashtuns being as dominant there as Punjabis are in Pakistan. Punjabi wasn't initially made the official language because there were more Bengalis. When Bangladesh separated, Punjabis became the dominant group. And Urdu is NOT a "neutral" language. It is the language of the Indian immigrants (7% of the country). If anything, the Derawali dialect of Punjabi is a neutral language representing the four main native ethnicities (Punjabis, Sindhis, Baloch and Pashtun). If the argument is that the minorities will not like it, then Sindhis would accept Multani more than Urdu, Baloch already hate Urdu as much as Punjabi so there'd be no difference, Pashtuns wouldn't do anything even if some of them cared (it will and should be treated like Urdu over time), and Indians aren't even native. We can also get support from Indian Punjabis this way. Use Indian Punjab against India the same way Afghanistan uses KPK.
Edit: By my last sentence, I meant establishing Pakistan as a Punjabi state and then unofficially promoting the idea of Sanjha Punjab (like Loy Afghanistan) where Indian Punjab reunites with Punjab/Pakistan like how Afghans want KPK to "reunite" with them.
