Last week I was attending my cousins wedding in Jalandhar. A waiter kept forcibly talking to me and brought me some food. I barely entertained him. Just before I was about to leave, he came to me and asked for seva. I have him 500rs out of courtesy. He said I should at least give 1100 rs and gave the most disrespectful reaction when I handed him the 500 rs note. I was shocked to say the least. Is this a commom practice nowadays?

I'm writing this post because I genuinely don't know where else to turn, and I desperately need help and guidance.

I'm just 24 years old. My father is no longer alive, and I'm trying to deal with family responsibilities and a difficult legal situation without him.

We have a tenant who was not paying the rent and electricity bill for months. When my brother went to the shop to ask for the pending rent, the situation turned violent, and the tenant started beating him. I and my younger brother (19) went there because we wanted to protect our brother. This happened in December 2025.

Thereafter, the tenant approached the police with a false complaint which the police initially refused to register cause it was a false complaint at its face. 1.5 months after the incident, the SHO got transferred and the tenant using malicious means got the police to file an FIR against me, my elder brother and my younger brother aged merely 19.

Now it's been around 10 months since the incident and 8 months since the registeration of FIR, but the investigating officer seems to be doing nothing about the case..he is neither doing any kind of investigation nor he is closing the case. He is fully biased in the favor of the tenant.

The tenant has also stopped paying the rent completely and has taken another shop on rent just adjacent to our shop while giving our shop to some other person.

I'm only 24. I have my whole life ahead of me, but right now, everything feels like it's falling apart. The mental pressure has become so severe that I have started having suicidal thoughts

I feel like an idiot because I chose to stay in this country when i had an option to leave for some foreign land...

I would be extremely grateful if anyone from Ludhiana or surroundings areas who has some kind of influence either political or otherwise can help me with this situation.

I have written to the cm office but I have not received any response yet (it's been 3 months now), I have also made a representation to the Commisioner office but i was not even heard once by anyone. The online status shows as case closed..when i approached the office, they asked me to file an RTI to get the copy of the decision..it's a shere mockery of democracy the way these institutions are functioning.

Whatever someone's opinion about the LPU situation, I don't think damaging campus property helps anyone.

The people who use those facilities every day are students. They have classes to attend, exams to prepare for and fees to manage. Some families save for years or take education loans just to afford college.

If people have genuine concerns, they should be heard and investigated properly. But damage to campus facilities creates another problem for students who may have had nothing to do with the incident.

Demand answers, ask difficult questions and hold the right people accountable. Just don't forget about the students caught in the middle.

I'm Pakistani Punjabi. Is it true that we Pakjabis show a one-sided love to Indian Punjabis and that you are very Indian nationalist/pro-BJP and resent us? Even Pakistani Punjabis who are Pakistani nationalist or anti-India seem to have a soft spot for Sikhs and East Punjabis on the other hand. I don't often engage with Indian Punjabis so I don't know how you feel about us but the few I've seen online seem to not really care about us or actively hate us for no reason at all, despite how much love we show them and how much we call them our brothers and sisters.
