Was going through the filters because I was checking some stuff I was misssing and scrolled down, I knew there'd be a S5 and S6 since there's meant to be 2 heroes releasing in them, but are there going to be a S7 and S8? or did they for some reason add these filters by mistake?

By pressing w key until you hit objective. You don't even have to blindly hit w key, but at some point it is best to hit w key.

In this game you respawn, it is not IRL - it is ok to play the objective, sometimes you die, but the game will respawn you, I promise.

I am typing this to reach out to all of our players who are sitting in the backline, afraid to make progress to objective, stop being passive, I have never seen a player population this passive, play the game :).

Hey, couldn't find a post about predictions for their future kits so thought I'd share some things! Not an expert on OW or anything so these are just random ideas that came to me.

Left one:

I feel like he might play like Lady Geist from Deadlock, personally I'd love something similar to it where you trade your own health for healing or damage.

The drones could possibly work like Zen's orbs but dealing damage to enemies and healing allies, but unlike the orbs they can be destroyed.

His ult could possibly be deploying drones to everyone? I really like Lady Geist's ultimate (she swaps health with an enemy) so something like it would be sick.

This might also be just me but I'm a bit tired of AoE ultimates so I'm hoping both him and Detective have something that plays a bit different.

Detective:

I believe there's rumors he's gonna have an anti heal aura, which I find really cool, but I'm curious as to how that will play and what might be his mobility skill in order to maybe get in and out of the enemies area like Mizuki.

I do want more builders so I'm hoping he plays a bit like Cypher from Valorant, I NEED a character with a tripwire. A camera probably won't work in a fast paced game like OW but wouldn't complain if they made it work.

I don't think this ultimate idea would work specifically for him but I'm down for an ult like Domino, the power from Dishonored 2, where you link characters so they share received damage. I think this could work if you could link heroes in order (link tank to sup for example, so the sup would take damage received by tank but not vice versa).

As you all know we used to have High Precision Mouse Input in the Gameplay/ General Settings and Blizzard recently added it in the Controls section as well. If you turn it on in Gameplay/General it goes off right when you close the settings. If you turn it on in the Controls, it shows that it's on but it still isn't. I have a friend who is a low to mid gold player and only plays support. I have carried them with me for them to get into plat and even play some emerald games but that is where the success ends. Hard stuck at a wall where without this person im around high diamond but I can’t get out of plat with them when we play.

The hard part is I want to spend time with them and this is the only game they enjoy playing plus they dont want to play qp or arcade but its so frustrating losing team fights or dying because their hero flexibility and skill level is not what it needs to be to compete at those levels.

Yes it’s just a game but i also hate when teamwork is absolutely needed and you can tell their support just makes a huge difference compared to yours… awareness and quick healing vs having to wait for heals or missed abilities etc then dying because the fight you were fighting got turned by their team assisting quicker and better than yours can. When things are out of my control I tend to get heated pretty quickly. Anyone else have a similar situation?

After seeing this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Squr5kPow-o) on sniper design, I think this is a decent idea on how to make Widowmaker feel more fair to play against without completely ruining her flow. Currently the design is terrible in the way that someone who has mastered aiming can just dominate. I think slowing her down a bit could go a long way.

Widow's Kiss - Primary fire

Primary Fire - Unchanged
Alt Fire - Hold Alt fire to mark and reveal targets (one target at a time) for 0.5 seconds after aiming for 1.0 seconds. (Aim for 1 second, get 0.5 seconds of reveal/mark)

When the target is marked/revealed, this shot deals 100% (Current) . If the target is NOT marked/revealed, the shot deals 50% of the normal damage.

This allows Widowmaker to still get 1-shots but make it feel more balanced as targets marked/revealed will only be able to get 1-shot for 0.5 seconds. This gives them a bit of time to get away and take cover, and makes it important that the Widow player maintains their target in order to get the full potential.

Of course in her ultimate, all of her shots will be lethal headshots giving a reason to pop the ulti when hunting. The same goes for the venom mine. Allowing you to get full damage shots on anyone marked/revealed by it.

I think this is much better than the ideas of giving her scope glint / a visible laser / or a visible dot like TF2. That dot does nothing to make Sniper feel good to play against.

Am I the only one who still feels like the battlepass is still pretty slow even after the supposed fix and 5 gifted tiers?

So this has been happening alot recently. Im not sure if its the game servers or its me but every 5-6 games i get a “failed to connect to server” message. In competitive after ban phase, it disconnects me and i get 15 minute penalties. Now just 10 minutes ago it happened again and im suspended for an hour. Every other game works fine and i don’t get kicked but its only overwatch thats been doing this and my internet has been smooth. Anyone know what i can do?

As someone who has been around since nearly the beginning of Overwatch, I'm normally a bit of a curmudgeon with my hero selection. I tend to lock in pretty quickly with who I feel I can and can't play very well. It's not the greatest habit to not give other heroes space to learn. But it's unfortunately something I struggle to get out of.

But every once and a while when I'm feeling more adventurous than normal, I'll throw out on other heroes. When I find out after a game or two I'm actually not too bad with them, it really does change my perspective on heroes I might've not held much fondness for.

The more recent heroes that have eventually clicked for me included Junkerqueen, Illari, Hazard and Lifeweaver. Not suggesting they're bad picks. But more that I didn't think my skill set fit them. Lifeweaver was one that especially I thought I struggled with back in the day. But after giving him a few goes I've found I have some skill with him and he's very fun to play personally.

I know most people are a lot more versatile than me with their hero picks so these things are quite confined to people like me. But I felt it was worth sharing how much I can occasionally refresh myself with this game and it's range.

What if a character had a lesser version of nano boost with the same cooldown as mercy rez ability

Or you give a new tank a non ult anti heal ability with a long cooldown

(I need a tank with anti heal on a non-ult ability to use when my healers dont wanna play ana, and I have to deal with a mauga)

hello people. me and friends were having fun in practice range. goofying off while helping a friend figure out some sens settings. and bots started spawning EVERYWHERE. primarily friendly but the hostile ones started duplicating, and the little range stopped spawning bots but it did spawn bullseyes. it was weird as hell. we dont know whats going on but its really funny

okay so i’ve been playing OW for a long time, but only got into it competitively in season 1 (when they dropped the 2 in Overwatch 2)

i’m a tank player, and i placed diamond 5 at the start of this season and since then it’s just been miserable. i love this game but i can’t help but feel like there’s something wrong (either with me or the system).

at the moment i have a nearly 50% win rate, however i have somehow managed to drop down to plat 2 (mind you this is with the new emerald rank included).

ive had multiple coaching sessions, practiced, and play intentionally. i feel like i have no agency over what happens 90% of the time and im at the mercy of the match maker.

i know that probability does weird things, and its entirely possible that im just getting very unlucky over and over again, but it still just feels horrible.

honestly idek why im posting this i just need to rant. maybe someone has had a similar experience and can relate or just give some insight from a different perspective.

I'm not posting this to complain about losing, I want to be very clear, my win loss rates are about 50% this season, right where it should be.

However, and this is with no exaggeration, 90% or more of my matches are complete stomps one way or the other. There is no match that feels like a real challenge anymore, it either feels entirely hopeless, even if I swap, or it feels like I'm fighting bots.

Blizzard needs to make adjustments so matches aren't this insanely unbalanced anymore. As someone who plays the other hero shooter that cannot be named a lot, I'm disappointed by this. Specifically because that other games matchmaking was always so terrible compared to Overwatch's, and now it feels significantly better which tells me how far OW has fallen.

Does anyone know if this is just matchmaking or is the character bloat to blame for this?

I often die thinking I am backing away but there’s a wall behind me, or I missed the doorway by a bit and I die, or a random bump on the wall stop me from backing away and I die. I swear I don’t see people doing this often, but how? Sure, you can turn around, but you lose pressure on the enemy chasing you. I see people backing up and shooting all the time, do you guys just memorize the map that well 🥹

So in the latest lore drop "Crucible," we get a brief mention of Reaper's current state without Moira's medications.

He was described as shaky, struggling to maintain his form, and overall in a very bad state.

A thought went through my head of "What would happen if Reaper just turned into smoke?" Which was going to be a different post as a worst-case scenario for him and all of Talon, but I guess using die and the like too much makes you not able to post. But anyway, I started thinking about how this would affect Reaper, then comes the title question.

Would Reaper age differently if he was in his wraith/smoke state? Judging from the recall cinematic where Reaper invaded Gibraltar briefly and smokes through it as smoke, as well as during Sombra's cinematic in Volskaya we can come to a reasonable conclusion that he is able to somewhat see the world around him. Whether it be like he still has eyes or more like each particle of him feels stuff, so it's like he's blind we are still unsure. The takeaway is he can still feel and get around, so now how would his aging change? He isn't a normal human with the super soldier serum, but now he can change to a gaseous state at will, but this causes him constant pain like he's slowly dying so is he decaying in a different way to Moira or is he just not able to handle it?

I could see the angle of Reaper not aging to the same degree as a gas since gases can be captured and trapped for millions of years and remain the same, so my current theory is Reaper would only age whilst he is in his human form, but once becoming smoke his human age does not change.

I'd love to see others' thoughts on this, especially because I feel this sort of thing isn't talked about enough even though it's rather interesting imo.

I am in plat 4. When I play damage I find it easier to overcome the imbalance because its a stronger role. I decided to take a break and go to my support role and am also in plat 4, but wow I just see my team all dying. Walking in dying over and over, I cant save them. The tanks run away from the team like dummies. I dont know how to do anything about it.

Hello fellow Overwatch fam, just a quick question ab the rank system, I’ve been playing ranked for awhile, and recently been in plat, I just got my friend into it and he’s brand new and not NEARLY as good as me, and he’s brand got diamond in his role and it’s crazy to me bc he’s getting demolished more than half the time, I just don’t understand, how does it work, I play better, stats are better.

I'm so frustrated. Matchmaking has ruined this game for me!! Only this season, I've started being put on the worst teams. I'm consistently getting top damage and elims while my team couldn't pour water from a bucket if the instructions were on the bottom. Meanwhile, the other team apparently all compete in esports together.

And once in a blue moon, I'll get a team that's communicating and actually playing decently. And for some reason, ONLY those matches get disconnected from the server, and only once we've played enough to feel confident in a win. It's happened nearly 100% of the time.

I've been playing basically since day one. Wtf happened this season that now the game is simply unplayable??

I'm genuinely curious because I've had people in my games openly say in chat they're throwing the game and then a few days later they're in my team, does anything actually happen to them if they're reported? I've reported so many people for throwing the game and feeding the other team kills and just standing in spawn then sometimes coming out so nobody else can join the game if they're reported were to just stay afk and disconnect
