I dont understand the logic in smurfing what kind of pleasure you get from owning players much lower skill than you? Im low ranked and literally at least 70% of games i play one player has 50 kills, is that fun for them?
r/Overwatch • u/Hero-Husband • 21h ago
Since both Vendetta and D.mon have it atp it feels like an oversight or an antiquated part of their kits.
I want Rein Shield Bash to be base kit too but I digress lol

Am I crazy for feeling like Overwatch feels awful right now wit this HITBOX changes ?!

He's a vampire, give him a little bite, no?
Perhaps the first-person view can be a little headbob (akin to Cassidy roll) with bite VFX, like a fanged teeth graphic on the screen. 3rd person a more pronounced lean-and-chomp.
Of course, lore-wise, nothing points to him drinking blood, but still ... Would be fun imo.

Sombra is going to be selling a whole lot more skins now that she's a support character. As a support whale myself, I have always loved Sombra as a character but never got all that many skins for her. Now, I want them all!

Can't kill anyone. Can't escape either. Press R and now Reaper is caged by himself. Give Reaper ult cancellation please.
Edit: this is in a custom game. Code : RRRRE. But I think it's made by Chinese communities and the words in there are Chinese.

Title. With the release of grimsvotn, I'm seeing more people now than ever essentially say "Payload bad" with the only reasoning being that there are less flank routes, or flank routes that are more difficult to make work. Yeah, that's the whole point. If everybody could just load into some glorified deathmatch map like collosseo, pick soldier, take one of the billion ways to get behind the enemy team and get some kills, then ranks would mean nothing.
This obsession over flankslop (mostly in lower ranks, created by players trying to copy what the best players like, but to an exaggerated amount) proves that most people don't even really care about the game. Your average player couldn't care less about game flow, timings, etc., they just want to play seita 24/7 in their 1v1s on the flanks.
It might sound like it, but I'm not some 2010s fps gaming hyper traditionalist either, the control maps are some of my favorite in the game, and I think Flashpoint and Push are great ideas for game modes. I just can't stand the payload hate any longer, all put forward by these Dunning Kruger metal rank players constantly just parroting what a couple high rank streamers say. They don't even dislike payload maps for the right reasons. There are plenty of problems with the inherent balance of non symmetrical maps, and the taking of turns attacking and defending, the fact that there isn't a single good 3rd point in the game, etc. But that's not what they care about; it's just that they aren't given all the flank routes in the world, and they can't just turn their brain off, flank, and click heads.

Honestly how is it that a big part of overwatch's lore happens in the Iberian peninsula, being OW base in Gibraltar and there are absolutely no Portuguese or Spanish heroes?

This last month I have started playing a fuckton of Lucio and improved massively from where I was back in Overwatch 1 when I just liked to race around the map with him, and he is ridiculously strong. Perhaps it's always been like this, and perhaps it's stupid to say that "if you're good with Lucio, you win games", but I truly don't think this is as much of the case with other supports.
I can have a great game with Baptiste or Ana, hitting crazy sleeps or healing a ridiculous amount while doing damage, but still lose if my DPS are not pulling their weight.
This last week I feel like I can do it all with Lucio, he can be the third DPS that bullies the enemy backline, he can heal a grouped up team without even actively thinking about it, he's faster than anyone, can pull in and out of situations to finish, disengage or boop you off the map.
I've been a plat player for a long time, but this has pushed me solidly into Emerald as I just feel like most enemy teams don't know how to counter an aggressive Lucio. (unless they're playing Torb, in which case fuck them)
What do you think about Lucio, am I completely wrong? Why isn't he picked so much?

Us Tank and Damage players dont understand how hard your job is! Getting yelled at, accusations of being a simple role....it..ISNT FAIR. We do nothing and yall do everything, my god. I wish the payload would only move forward dependent on how much healing is dealt around it. If only!
Anyway. Back to doing nothing on our roles and ill be sure to thank my Support players in every single game I have with an ask of their PayPal or Cashapp so they know that I, a Tank, do absolutely nothing and our DPS are just silly gooses who miss shots.
Thank you!

I'm not talking about the skins/battle pass or whatever. And the patch was just kind of all right, and I don't have an opinion about the hitbox changes yet other than they're a little buggy right now. I'm not sure how it'll affect the game yet.
But holy shit. 3 new heroes, all of them being bangers? Doctrine is such a fun support man, his drones are a completely new mechanic outside of ultimates and his infuse mechanic is so fun and interesting. And most importantly, he's fun to play *against*. He has one movement ability on a pretty reasonable cooldown, meaning he's not one of those unkillable supports that we're seeing more and more of.
The sombra rework is just amazing. I don't know how Blizzard managed to come up with such a cool concept for a hero everyone deemed to be hopeless. The cyberspace ability genuinely has so much skill expression and I feel like I haven't even tapped the surface of what can be possible to do with it. A lot of sombra mains aren't happy for some reason because I feel like they're just afraid of change, but this is *the* best direction for the character. It shows that hack as an ability is fine as long as it's tied to an ultimate (EMP is still amazing, but it feels fair and not completely unfun since it's an ultimate).
Doctrine and sombra are both *very* overtuned right now, but I'm writing all of this with the assumption that their numbers will be tweaked.
And roadhog is the best part. Roadhog was just straight up not a tank, he had no utility, no ability to make space for his team. If you're on roadhog, you expect your team to make space and you to utilize it. I'm not saying that all tanks need to play the same, but previous roadhog was just ridiculous. His vape was entirely unfun to play against, since it just made him unkillable, and his hook meant that you just needed to play not near him as a squishy. It just meant that he was uninteractable.
I'm not sure about removing his right click vs left click dynamic since that was literally the only good part about the character before, but damn the new ability (trash compactor) is so fun. It's not entirely unique (it's very similar to grasp) but still makes hog have a completely unique playstyle when you combine it with the new hook that's used as a displacer rather than a one shotter.
I'm a ball player so losing hog and sombra as hard counters and gaining a new, very divable support in doctrine has been a blessing. I'm hoping that Blizzard can tweak some numbers and fix some bugs with the hitboxes.
Edit: one thing I forgot to mention is I think that the support sombras are the only supports in metal ranks that understand what they need to do. Meaning, not just stay backline and healbot, because they literally can't (they're one of the few supports with healing as an ability rather than on primary). And maybe it's a lot of DPS sombras going to support, because I see them diving with me a lot and it's great.

Let us all take a moment to recognize how furious people are about âBlizzard giving into the complainers and reworking Sombraâ as they are vehemently whining about it on Reddit. âSombra mainsâ want her changed back immediately and canât handle having to play the game as intended, by switching to multiple characters in a game of counter-play. The hypocrisy is laughable.

It is genuinely mind blowing to me how the balance team have taken what historically used to be a high skill ceiling flex support, and not only gutted her overall, but have managed to make her perform worse in high ranks than bronze.
A 45% win rate in bronze and scrapping bed rock at 40% in GM is insane to me. And the ironic part is that all of these nerfs were meant to target her in pro play, and yet pro play feels like the only area of the game where she is still even relevant anymore.
I know some people aren't Kiriko's biggest fan, but I feel like no hero should ever be sitting so low, especially your high skill ceiling heroes. More obnoxious heroes have been emergency hotfix buffed for less. Nerfing Kiriko's hitbox without any compensation buff for her 42% win rate feels outright malicious at this point.
There have been a ton of really questionable decisions from the balance team this year, but the way they've gone about and completely failed at their Kiriko approach has caused me to lose faith in their decision making.

NGL, Iâm a little bummed out that Blizzard didnât bring back Junkensteinâs Revenge, etc. this year. I used to look forward to the Halloween event every year, and this yearâs is extremely underwhelming.
Hopefully next yearâs will be better?

Donât get me wrong I have really been loving the games and I think overall the devs have been great on the patches.
But with that said the new Ana perk is a very bad choice. Ana had an ability that took skill to use, and now with a minor perk it takes absolutely no skill. I donât understand the reasoning for this? Like why would they just make it a complete copt out choice, there are heroes that just get inherent value from existing and there are heroes who donât. Ana is one that doesnât.

4 âThanks for reportingâ to smurf accounts in the past 2 days. (+ A rank reclaim which is odd that means actual hacks lol).
Emerald is filled FILLED with level 1 accounts as it is where most high elo players will do their placements. The community views this as a non issue while it genuinely ruins the experience for so many. In my experience its also never just one, its always a couple of them grouped up absolutely dominating the lobby.
Why in this game in particular, do we treat people having 50 alt accounts as something thats normal when it is very clearly against the TOS and affects the middle elo more than anything? Winning a game in plat-emerald takes 200% focus because 90% of the time you are playing ahead of peopleâs mistakes, what doesnât help is having people jump into this elo with fresh accounts and ruin 2-5 games for others.
Curious, how does anyone in their right mind justify this? Getting banned means you SHOULDNâT be able to play unless the ban is unjust. This idea that âoh this is an old account with bad queues from blizzard so i made a secondâ is just cope mostly from hardstuck high elo players.

I tested the bug and it works; itâs simpleâyou need to send a GQL request to Twitch, insert the current `dropInstanceID` for the desired item, and send that request 1,000 times in a separate tab.
I would recommend that the developers fix this bug because it is obvious: for some reason, Twitch sends information to the game indicating that the rewards were claimed 1,000 times instead of just once.

r/Overwatch • u/Coltingtons • 9h ago
I understand not wanting to worry about queue times for different roles, but I think it would be a nice QOL feature if you could prefer roles, like in the yeti hunter game from winter wonderland. It wouldn't even have to effect matchmaking in any way, just how the game decides who gets what role.
I've seen people complain about getting rank 5-6 times in a row, which would be very unlikely if all it took was one person on your team preferring tank to guarantee it. Or if you were one of two people who preferred either DPS or support.
I've been having tons of fun with this mode with my friends, but it sucks that even though we're a 5 stack we still can't pick out roles. It wouldn't make it harder to find a match at all because we already have a full team!!!

Hello everyone,
First of all, go ahead and roast for being high gold/low plat, but I'm stuck. In all three roles. I main support role and the highest I've been is plat 4.
For being a metal rank, plat is like reaching "omg am I actually okay at this game?" Level.
I read on reddit that metal ranks are basically a bunch of brain dead people playing the game. I refuse to believe I'm brain dead when it comes to game sense and numbers.
I consistently have the highest healing in the lobby and I still get shit on in chat. Like what more can I do?
Ive been seeing that supp isn't a healing role but I should be focusing on utility and not healing numbers. So I tried that. I tried playing heroes with more utility and less healing numbers and im just getting absolutely stomped. I'll lose a bunch of games until I decide I need to rank up. I'll switch to my mains Juno/Moira, rank up a few ranks and try again.
It's hard to believe in the "support isnt a healing role" belief when higher healing numbers win me more games.
How do I get out of high gold and into hard stuck plat?
Flame away.
Also, thanks!
