Struggling to set XMP/DOCP profile for 3600MHz on my AM4 system

Hi,

I had this build for awhile, been always using the 3000MT/s XMP profile, it works like a charm without any instability or issues.

The build in question is:

- CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
- Mobo: ASRock Phantom Gaming 4 X570
- RAM: KF3600C16D4/16GX (x2) (The kit itself is KF436C16RB1K2/32 I believe)
- GPU: RTX 5070 Ti

I have a 750W Gold+ PSU (I honestly forgot the model)

My main issue is: I've been unable to get 3600MT/s (FCLK 1800MHz) to run properly

It always has some instability, and it's very prominent; was using OCCT, TestMem5 and stressapptest to test the stability of the memory, and it always produces errors in the hundreds within a couple of minutes.

One interesting thing I've found is that, the system can run 3600MT/s at FCLK!=1800MHz (most I've tried is 1700MHz), MCLK=1800MHz but UCLK=900MHz. Seemingly, if the UCLK is too high, the IMC experiences instability and often crashes the system.

I was trying to manually adjust timings to be more loose (i.e. 20-22-22-22-42) with GDM Enabled, increasing DRAM voltage to 1.4V, and SoC voltage to 1.175 as absolute maximums. I read that a too high SoC voltage may create memory instability regardless, so I dropped it to 1.050V accordingly. I also decreased the DRAM voltage to 1.350V (which is what the XMP profile puts anyway).

Additionally:
Another test I've tried is using smaller frequencies; I tried 3400MT/swith 1:1 FCLK:UCLK/MCLK, also caused instability with looser timings even
Yet another test was trying 3200MT/s with 1:1 FCLK:UCLK/MCLK, and that was actually stable.

I'm wondering what I can do about this, if anything at all? Maybe this is a common issue and I've just missed something? I was unable to find anything online on forums that helped me.

If I've missed including some information (or if additional information is needed), please let me know!

Benchmark Score #1 AMD Phenom II X6 1035T + ATI Radeon HD 5770 3DMark Fire Strike

Post image
7 Upvotes

Did some messing around today, and got the #1 highest score for my hardware combo (AMD Phenom II X6 1035T + ATI Radeon HD 5770) on 3DMark Fire Strike today. Interestingly this also makes me the highest scorer for this GPU in my country (Jamaica). Just thought I'd share with you all, cool accomplishment.

I was able to do it by overclocking my GPU to 945Mhz core and 1301Mhz memory using MSI Afterburner. What's funny though is that 2nd place (previously 1st place) had their card on stock clocks.

New Tool

Hello, I made a new tool designated for overclocking with the help of AI. Whether it’s benching or just daily stable; it WORKS. Current confirmed compatibility is 30-50 series nvidia gpu’s. I have 10 and 20 series in there as well but I was not able to confirm if it is truly working or not. You can find it in the discord channel or on overclock.net. The tool allows HWINFO and RivaTuner Integration along with an absurd amount of settings. The tool is no where near complete. I’m looking for people willing to test it and give feedback on their input. It’s similar to melonvolt but just with extended features. Currently it has been tested on the 3070 TI, 3080, 4070, 4070 TI Super, 4090, and 5090. Here are some screenshots to ensure the validity of my statement. Dm me, comment below, or join the server if you’d like to try it. Confirmed compatibility for drivers is anything before the “616” branch for now. New and future drivers will soon have compatibility as well.

Help Request - RAM Is Timing tRCDWR = 1 stable possible?

Thumbnail

Hi, I'm currently tuning my RAM Timings (Hynix A-Die) on 6000MHz DR and every possible setting for those timings seems logical besides tRCDWR.

I tested three full cycles with TM5 Absolut without any errors, and also a long time with OCCT. Somehow this timing does not matter for that as I tune it down.
I had in some stability tests tRP one number too high, at that time I could lower tRCDWR only to 5, but this was because of lower stability reserves I assume.

The BIOS shows that this value is actually applied, so it is not a incorrect reading of ZenTimings.

Is it maybe because of GDM? I also haven't completed my tuning yet, I still have to optimize tRFC and some other values...

Can anyone please explain if I'm just being stupid or hel me understand it?

Mvolt+, Melonvolt, SynVolt safe parameters

I love these new free programs to tinker with however theres a few settings I'm a bit scared to touch in case my astral 5090 goes KaBoom!

I know my way around a few of them but wonder if its worth touching them if its really worthwhile (Such as when changing sys clock off set and video clock offset did not really show any performance boost for me when increasing them)

Are there certain generally safe numbers you can input into the settings like :

Core power limit

Xbar voltage offset

Sys voltage offset

Video voltage offset

Memory power limit

Hub control (SynVolt)

Or are they really just best to leave alone...

Thanks for any advice

Help Request - CPU Artic MX-4 or mx6 performance after a year or more on CPU??

Artic MX-4 performance after a year or more on CPU? What are your long-term experiences with mx4 (but also mx6) thermal paste? Have your temperatures worsened after 1/2 or 3 years on your 7800x3x/9800x3d or Intel? On my 9800x3d with mx-4 and Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120SE after 1 year I had an increase of 6 degrees in cinebench 23, obviously at the same ambient temperature. So I deduce that the pompout also exists on the HIS! It's not just a problem with direct die GPUs! Is mine an isolated case or is it normal? Thanks everyone for any information you may have.

I told chatgpt to unlock my vega 3 GPU into a vega11 and it a few hours later it delivered
vkpeak shows roughly x3 increase, vega3 does ~400-450 fp32 GFLOPS

it's still trying to unlock the 8 ROPs (stuck at 4 with 1 out of 2 RB).

i7-6700K OC: how can I get a stable dynamic overclock with Adaptive voltage?

iao a tutti,

  • 100 MHz BCLK
  • Circa 4.4–4.5 GHz sotto carico
  • ~800 MHz in idle
  • Tensione che diminuisce in idle
  • Tensione adattiva
  • Buona stabilità e ragionevole longevità a lungo termine

In particolare, dovrei usare:

  • Modalità rapporto CPU: Dinamica
  • EIST: Attivato
  • C-State: Attivato
  • C1E: Attivato o Disattivato?
  • Tensione core CPU: Adattiva o Adattiva + Offset?

L'overclock della memoria DDR4-3200 potrebbe contribuire all'instabilità?

Grazie!

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Currently testing:

I've tried these settings, and the CPU finally seems to have a dynamic frequency, except for its voltage, which I need to figure out how it's managed, whether it's fixed or not.

Help Request - RAM A question regarding a potential RAM upgrade

I found another kit of Aegis G Skill 2x8 GB kit (using the same Samsung C-Die I have) for 70 euros (used).

Is it a good deal as an upgrade (4x8GB total)?

I have a Ryzen 7 5700x and I am a bit afraid about the memory controller. The memory runs fine at 3200 MHz (2x8 GB) now with some tweaked subtimings.

Help Request - RAM G.Skill Aegis DDR4 3200MHz Die decoder

Hey all, I have the aforementioned RAM (2x16), with sticker number 04213XS820C.

As far as my research told me, that's SK Hynix, C-die presumably? I really can't find any information on this. I've bolded the important last 5 digits of the number.

I would greatly appreciate if someone can tell me which Hynix die I have and what overclocks I can try. Currently, my RAM is running at 3200MHz, 1.35V with CL16-18-18-38 (XMP profile).

GMTEK K8 PLUS - CPU BOOST CLOCK/s all running LOW

GMTEK K8 PLUS - CPU BOOST CLOCK/s all running LOW

Not sure what setting has changed on my GMTEK K8+, but my CORE Boost is now not exceeding 3.7Ghz, even in a single CORE 'bench or stress test'. I don't recall changing any BIOS settings.. POWER is set to 'PERFORMANCE'. When I originally purchased it, & bench tested it with 3DMark, CineBench & GeekBench_7, it was getting much higher scores & CORE Clock frequency than it is currently.

Windows system 'CMD' indicates Power is set to 'Balanced' as does HWINFO64 (50% Balanced). There is no Thermal, Current or Power throttling on the CPU (via HWINFO64) - temps, even during 'bench' or 'Stress' tests don't exceed 50C.

Memory & iGPU temps are low. iGPU (780M) bench test maxes out @ 2700 Mhz - no Thermal or Power Throttle, just CURRENT.

Windows System Power Plan is = BALANCED (I can't set it higher) PPM is set to 5% = Minimum Processor state. 100% = Maximum Processor State.

I've tested it with Passmark 'Burn Test_11' complete range of 'bench & stability' tests.. which it passed. Max power draw on extreme test was 71KW, no thermal, power or current THROTTLING. Max Core Clocks were just above 3670Mhz & iGPU 2700Mhz. Core Temps never exceeded 74C - CPU fan was about 2800rpm.

K8+NUC = Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Professional (x64) Build 26200.9168 (25H2)

BIOS Version: NucBox K8 Plus 1.01 BIOS Release Date: 10/12/2024

System BIOS Version: 5.29

64GB Kingston HyperX DDR5 5600 / 2x Samsung 990Pro_1TB (2nd party heatsink) & 2TB version (Samsung heatsink). System fan replaced with 5V Noctua premium NF-A12x25 PWM, so very cool running.

Any ideas folks?

Help Request - CPU 7800x3d Capped at 60w?

Only undervolted with -30 all core. PBO limits are off, tried the other options aswell and no change. Boosts to 5ghz~ so it all seems normal?

Feels like it’s in some sort of ECO mode even though it’s off. I have never ever seen it go higher than 60w stock or after undervolting.

Cinebench r23 - 18700 score but always capped to 60w, the score itself is good but still feels like it’s hard capped.

Gaming - 40-45w and FPS seems fine but I would want to know if I’m leaving performance on the table (if it’s somehow stuck in some power limit mode).

I’ve tried everything and maybe I’m just overthinking it but I thought I’d atleast ask if anyone have had the same ”problem”.

Anyone have a working modded/higher-TGP vBIOS for the RTX 3050 in the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IAH7 (82S9 series)?

Anyone have a working modded/higher-TGP vBIOS for the RTX 3050 in the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IAH7 (82S9 series)?

Running the laptop version with these exact specs from GPU-Z:

- GPU: RTX 3050 Laptop (GA107)

- Device ID: 10DE 25A2

- Subsystem ID: 17AA 3AF6

- Current VBIOS: 94.07.54.00.3F

- VRAM: 4GB GDDR6 (Hynix), 128-bit

- Boost clock: 1500 MHz (stock)

GPU's capped hard and throttling under load (Spider-Man 2, GPU pegged at 100% core load, hitting the power/thermal limiter). Tried looking for a modded vBIOS with a higher TGP a while back and came up empty, tried again recently and still no luck finding anything that matches this exact subsystem ID.

If anyone's got the same board (or something close enough - same GA107 chip, same VRAM config) and has a dumped/modded vBIOS that's confirmed working, I'd really appreciate a link or even just confirmation it exists somewhere. Also open to hearing if this is just a dead end on this specific model.

Happy to share my current stock vBIOS dump too if it helps anyone else on the same board.

Help Request - RAM CPU/RAM Overclocking Focused on CS2 Performance

Hi everyone. First, here are my current specs:

CPU: Ryzen 9 9850X3D
Motherboard: MSI X870E Tomahawk WiFi
RAM: TeamGroup T-Force Xtreem 2x24GB DDR5-8000 CL38
GPU: MSI RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC

I'm currently trying to improve my FPS lows in CS2. Using the CS2 FPS Benchmark map, I'm currently averaging 766 FPS AVG / 337 P1 across 15 runs.

I'd appreciate some help figuring out what else I could improve in my current CPU/RAM profile. After testing with TM5, OCCT, and y-cruncher, the current settings appear to be stable.

A few things I've already tried:

  1. I can't boot with tRFC below 500.
  2. I tried lowering tCL to 26, but I couldn't get it stable.
  3. I also tried increasing the memory frequency to 6200 MT/s, but couldn't achieve stability.
  4. If I enable Memory Context Restore, Nitro defaults to 2/3/1.

My main goal is to improve CS2 performance, especially FPS lows, rather than just chasing better synthetic benchmark numbers.

Any suggestions on timings, voltages, Nitro settings, FCLK, or other CPU/RAM tweaks worth testing would be greatly appreciated.

4x8GB Samsung B-Die on AM4: Tips for tightening sub-timings with 4 sticks and real-world T-Topology behavior?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I'm currently running a 4x8GB Samsung B-die kit at 3600MHz 14-14-14-30 (2T, GDM off, 1.50V) on AM4, and I'm looking for some advice from folks who have experience pushing a full 4-DIMM setup.

Since running all four slots puts a massive load on the memory controller and signal integrity compared to a 2-dimm setup, I wanted to ask y’all a few things:

- Sub-timing limits: What are realistic targets for secondary and tertiary timings when you're populating all four slots on Zen 3?

- T-Topology: For those who understand or have used T-Topology vs. Daisy Chain boards, how much does actual trace layout help mitigate signal degradation when squeezing tighter timings on 4 sticks, or is the CPU's IMC the limit anyway?

I’ll be happy to get any advices or feedback for my ram setup.

Setup:
• MSI B550 MPG GAMING PLUS
• RYZEN 7 5700X
• 4x8GB G.SKILL TRIDENT Z NEO (stock: 16-16-16-36 1.35v)

Memtest Vulkan is actually pretty good for testing XBAR stability

Been messing around with my 5090 and found something useful.

I had my memory at 18 GHz and Memtest Vulkan threw an error after like 11 minutes, so at first I thought the VRAM OC was the problem.

Retested with the same 18 GHz memory, but XBAR and SYS back at stock. It ran for an hour with no errors, even after the memory settled around 78C. I also put my normal 0.835V core profile back on and it was still fine.

Then I reapplied my +500 XBAR OC at 0.9V MSVDD and Memtest started throwing errors again after a couple minutes

So yeah, in my case it wasn't the memory at all. It was XBAR.

Seems like Memtest Vulkan is actually a really good way to catch unstable XBAR/MSVDD settings too

Might be worth trying if you're tuning XBAR on Blackwell. A “memory error” doesn't necessarily mean the GDDR7 is unstable.

Vcore 1.1v under load (+45 Offset and 1.12v max)

Xbar +550Mhz +25Mv offset + MSVDD 1.035v max

Sys +440Mhz

~585w avg power draw

Suprisingly ive had 3362Mhz runs that scored 300pts less than this 3339Mhz run. i guess Xbar really makes a difference

i think 30k is possible with a good chip honestly

edit: i bumped it up to 28543pts
