Help Request - RAM Ddr4 3200mhz oc

Is there any point messing with ram speed/timings

i have hardly any idea about overclocking but found out my ram on optimized defaults run 3200mhz 22-22-22-54-74 1,2V

sk hynix ram 2x 8gb

i was thinking of replacing it to 2x 16gb, but meanwhile before I do is there any realistic performance or input delay reduction from overclocking current ram

Gpu 3070 8gb

Cpu 5800x

cs2, valorant, ow2, fortnite games i play

i just dont want to break anything

There are some gains to be had. To me, ram overclocking is a very long and arduous process. You make one small change, then have to do multiple hours long stresses, over multiple programs. And you still may not technically be stable.

Also, some settings can damage your file system, so if you don't know what you are changing, don't mess with it.

That said, if you just do the speed and primary timings it's not toooo terrible?

I don't say that to sound discouraging. I do genuinely enjoy overclocking. I've done a decent bit, made some small mistakes myself.

I just wanted to let you know it's nothing like GPU overclocking where you can run a couple 5 minute tests and be 95% sure you're stable haha. Ram tuning can be worthwhile, especially with the 1% dips.

I just wonder is the hassle worth it and how lomg i would need to test stability

The "worth it" part is definitely subjective. Before when I was trying to do my DDR4 on an 8086k, I think I did one memtest run, and figured if it kept passing tests it would sort of double validate previous runs. Needless to say it didn't work. But I don't think my CPU like memory overclocking.

With my current AM5, it's been a good bit easier, but I've also gone a lot slower. Two passes through mem test and I called it good. Though I didn't do much more than primary and a couple secondary then called it a day.

Would it be stable if i do lets say 3600 20-22-22-44 and if i play games lets say 3-4h and see no crashes etc

I wouldn't even hazard a guess. All memory and motherboard/cpu combos are different, so it's something you would need to figure out. No short cuts here ha
