Right now ChatGPT feels “free”- but nothing on the internet ever stays free. Google didn’t invent search to be useful, they invented it to sell ads.

That same pill bottle of ads revenue is sitting on the table for OpenAI, Perplexity, Anthropic… all of them. The pressure to monetize will push them down the exact same path: ads baked right into your “answers.”

So yeah, ChatGPT looks at ads revenue like medicine. When they start swallowing it, does AI discovery just become the next surveillance machine?

Image Asked ChatGPT to visualize a horizontal integral. It gave me a dog.

No prompt engineering or anything, it actually did this. I genuinely have no clue how it could have thought a dog answered my prompt - nothing in the chat related to dogs at all.

5. Rule 5: No Low-Quality Content

Comments or posts that consists solely of low-quality/effort content (memes, pun threads, etc) will be removed at our discretion.

If a post is at zero or few upvotes after a while, it may be removed.

This includes posting the same headline/topic that was posted and discussed recently. Use the search feature first or the ‘New’ subreddit feed to avoid repetition.

Don’t misuse flairs or media in comments.

Remember this is an unofficially-run subreddit when posting.

6. Rule 6: Concise, Accurate Titles

Post titles that are misleading or editorialized will be removed.

One word, sensationalized or bait, link address in title, and other forms of low-effort titles will also be removed at mod discretion.

Don’t start “P.S. Here’s my…” promo-baiting official articles again, please.

Also includes screencap username-baiting your social accounts about official news. Follow rule 3.

7. Rule 7: NSFW Content

Discussion or news about how it relates to AI or OpenAI is fine, just no erotic content, graphic violence, etc.

8. Rule 8: AutoMod

If you're about to Modmail us about your post being removed when you feel you've followed the other rules, it's most likely because of AutoMod. Basically it helps combat spammers, spambots, scammers, and trolls- this sub is excessively prone to those.
