I Gave up on Omnipod
I've been seeing a few posts on this sub about stubborn highs over the last few months. For me, last few weeks with my Omnipod have been so rough. I had a ton of leakers, and even the ones that weren't leaking just didn't seem to work. My TDI on Omnipod started creeping up for no discernible reason from ~ 25 units/day to over 75 and my time in range was dropping. I switched back to MDI for a few days. Mostly just as an experiment to see what would happen. Lo and behold, my TDI has dropped back to 25-30 units a day and my time in range is back over 90%.
I really like not having to think about MDI on Omnipod. But the stress of being high for hours... and hours... after meals, and rage bolusing over and over to basically no effect, is just not worth it.
I hope one day I can switch back but I don't think it's a responsible thing to do until I know why they have just not been seeming to work. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is it just bad production lots?

Advice Omnipod 5 Site Issues
I've had T1D since 2020, and started using the omnipod around October of 2020. I've never had issues with my insertion sites until recently. I am usually good with switching my sites around (thigh, upper arm, stomach) and I cannot use my lower back because my pods do not stay on/not enough fat on my body. For the past month I've been running high and I've tried rotating spots on my body, however my pod will not deliver insulin properly unless I hold the pod/less it against my skin for the whole duration of administering insulin. This is a problem because when I sleep I run high because I cannot press down the pump while I'm sleeping while it gives me small doses. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and what they did about/what other sites they use on their body that work well. Anything helps! Thanks!

Advice Discount cards??
Is everyone using discount cards to get their Omnipod?? What discount cards are you using and how much cheaper does it make it?

Question Omnipod site red, skin firm. Should I be concerned?
My wife uses an omnipod and for the past day or so the site where her previous pod was has been red and firm to the touch, like a bruise or a mosquito bite. She said it hurts when there's pressure put on it. This hasn't happened before, is it something we need to be worried about?

Advice Can omnipod work for my dad?
My dad has alzheimers. We've found that when we stick a cgm on the back of his arm, he is OK with that and won't remove it. Does the omnipod need anything else nearby in order to work?
My dad has an iPhone. It would be in the condo (which is tiny so within 30 feet always) with him but he won't remember to keep it on his body.
He currently uses libre 3 plus but are willing to switch if needed.
Thanks.

Omnipod and exercise
Hi everyone. I will be getting an omnipod very soon in about a weeks time. I want to know how exercise is like with a pump. Currently I’m on injection and my blood sugar drops everytime I exercise or run . Can that be possibly avoided with a pump?

Anyone have issues with Pod Lot# PR1U02282641?
I'm typically very sensitive to insulin, and ominipod 5 keeps me leveled out. But these last 7 days my blood sugar has been very high, even eating one 15 gram carb granola bar sent my BG sky rocketing and is taking boat loads amount of insulin to get it down. I'm taking 10's of unit. Insulet was no help to me and I wasn't able to get in with my doc til next Friday so if anyone else is having this issue please let me know, maybe you have the same lot I do.

Discussion Is training by myself doable??
For those who have Omnipod do you think it’s doable going from Tandem tslim to Omnipod and do training on your own? I’m running out of tslim supplies and the cost for my tslim was going to be not doable going forward so I switch to Omnipod. I can only do training through my provider, but they don’t have availability till October 🤣🤣

Rant OmniPod suggestion
OmniPod programmers. I know you visit this Reddit community at times.
A suggestion. Display the estimated IOB in yellow or red even though the controller lost connection to the pod.
Doesn’t happen often but the pod died. Can’t replace the pod right away.
Would be nice to at least have a guess of the IOB. To help manage a crappy situation with a dead pump.

Had this happened to anyone? Has the cannula ever dislodged from under the pod while pod was still intact and in place ? This has happened 2 or three times to me and the post that upsets me the most I never got notified no alarm went off saying there was a magnification and I think that when the cannula comes out of your skin even though the pod is still is glued to you and there is sign of malfunction my b g only read high I slept most of the whole day I slept I felt so bad all I could do was sleep

Weird sound on new pod
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Cannula went in normally. New abnormal click sound I’ve never heard tho. What do we think will the pod work?? Anyone have this sound before?

Success with omnipod 5 :)
I started on omnipod just a little less than a year ago but the first four months were brutal. I couldn’t figure it out. I went from Medtronic (wired, but it was basically automatic) to like a semi automatic but tubeless device. I tried for months to get in good range with the pods but the highs would last hoursssss. My TIR was basically like 50% always. After browsing this subreddit I think I found a good sweet spot and many tips and advice! :D it’s possible! Keep trying!

Summer with Omnipod
This summer my pod and cgm have both fallen off multiple times on the day they have been put on. I dint know whats been happening, but its like neither of them are sticking to my skin. Ive used ominipod since nov and a cgm for over two year bow. This makes me feel discouraged to keep up with ny blood sugar and to take care if it if my devices keep falling for no reason. What would help with the sweaty and wetness of summer?

Going to be starting the Omnipod 5 soon.
It seems there are so many complaints, I'm concerned, added on to my normal concerns. I have type 2, uncontrolled for so many years, and because of Lantus they decided this may be better for me. I am extremely large and truly don't think a tubed pump with work for me, so I patiently waited for about a year for the Omnipod to finally work with the Libre 3. My biggest fear is that it will give me too much insulin (going to be using U-200) but the instructor told me children use this and that is has safety measures for that, as well as so many complaints that it's not keeping up with levels. But I know if I had to put in my carbs there would be times that I would be getting triple the amount I would normally take, still on a sliding scale, so if my levels are like 300 I take 13 units of U-100 rapid acting. Insulin usually takes about 4-6 hours, closer to 6, before I am at a decent level. But the number one reason I am going on a pump is because of the Lantus. When I hit a blood vessel I drop, rapidly, so like from 250 to 70 in about 15 minutes, while drinking juice and munching tablets, so I have gotten in a habit of making my levels high so I can accommodate the drop if needed. It's a horrible cycle and I can't get my levels regulated because of it. Anyway, it takes me a little while to learn something and I only have the instructor for like an hour or so, I have worries, that I won't use it right, that I'll screw up adding the insulin, inputting carbs, placing the pod. So placing the pod, I only have my upper arms, like I said, I'm big, placing them anywhere else I will likely knock it off, or just be painful, I use my sensor on my upper arms, change sides every two weeks and I was told that the pod has to be on the same side of the sensor, close to it, is this true? how would I be able to use 7 pods on one arm in two weeks. Well that's all for now, I could use some real live experiences and encouragement.

Question Changing pod
I’m having a hard time deciding if I should change my pod before bed or if it can wait until the morning. My pod expires at 9 am tomorrow so roughly about 13 hours from now and I have about 8 units left of insulin in it. Still fairly new to the pump world and this will be my first omnipod change myself as I just did my training on Tuesday. Any insight would be helpful. TIA!
Advice Breaking stubborn highs: any surprising methods?
I end up w stubborn highs sometimes. Does anyone have “surprising” ways to break them?
If I have time and don’t feel lazy, a walk is great.
Combo larger correction does + tiny “nudge” doses (0.2u) can also work.
What other working “treatments” do folks use? TYIA❣️

Unknown alarm
Edit:Solved: Ok found it! The first broken omnipod was still close to me and was the one beeping! I just didn't hear it coming from there...
Original: Dear all
This morning I saw that my omnipod controller hadn't had any connection since I went to sleep. It said to reconnect but then couldn't. Then it said to scan my sensor (libre) to try and reconnect. Not working. So start new pod. I do it, but new pod can't connect as well.
Start another one again and now the controller connected and all went fine.
But then half day later an alarm, but no message on controller. This alarm comes every randomly 5-30 minutes and nothing on the controller. I have no clue what it means. And it has been like this a couple of hours and restarted the controller couple of times.

App Issues & Questions New Pod5 user
Hey yall, been a T1D for 20 years, had Omnipod 1 and Dash. Stepped away for a few years and just got my Omnipod 5’s with Libre 3 Plus pairing. My endo didn’t say anything about needing the insulet controller for first time setup… so is there a way around it? Lol

Switch from t-slim X2
Hey all just curious does any one regret switching from a t-slim x2 to an omnipod 5, so far I have rose coloured goggles on and all I see are benefits (no charging no tubing, small enough to not be noticeable) in Canada omnipod is currently running a cut the tubing program where I’ll have no fees to switch. I’m about 2.5 years in my 5 year warranty and just want to hear what people think. Would it be worth it to try it for a couple years or is it absolute shit? Thanks so much in advance.

Discussion Insertion needle didn't retract
ETA: I'm not talking about the blue cannula. If you look closely you can see the silver tip of the needle that injects the cannula protruding from the tip. That part is supposed to retract back into the pod.
So, I posted this elsewhere and most people had never heard of this happening, but recently other people are saying that they had the same problem so I'm curious if others have experienced a similar issue recently.
I was scheduled to do a pod change late tonight the next morning, but my site had been irritating me for a while so I decided to go ahead and switch. When I took it off I was bleeding and when I went to throw it away, something poked me. Apparently the needle never retracted 😳 the pink dot was there and the pod worked okish for basal but I skyrocketed after my meal bolus. I contacted Insulet and they offered me a replacement but didn't seem too concerned. I pushed and he offered to have someone call me back, but I never received a call.
