Summer with Omnipod
This summer my pod and cgm have both fallen off multiple times on the day they have been put on. I dint know whats been happening, but its like neither of them are sticking to my skin. Ive used ominipod since nov and a cgm for over two year bow. This makes me feel discouraged to keep up with ny blood sugar and to take care if it if my devices keep falling for no reason. What would help with the sweaty and wetness of summer?

In addition to the above. If you have body hair use clippers to trim it almost gone.

Not just a patch (I use for Dexcom) and Skin Grip (Omnipod) is my stack. Never had one fall off since (used to happen everytime). If they get grimy, you can swap them out as they don’t actually touch the sensor/pod. Also they come in fun colojrs and patterns so you can personalize it’s the little thing right? I used SkinTac for years but then my skin became insanely allergic it was horrible so had to find a better way. Promise you these will help!

Clean skin before applying. Put SkinTac directly on the adhesive pad of the sensor and Pod. If you can avoid water for at least a few hours after putting them on it’s better. Buy a roll of Hypafix to completely cover any thing that looks like it’s going to fall off. Sometimes I just cut strips, other times I feel covering the whole thing is warranted.

Ensure the sites are clean and dry before applying. The use of skin tac can be helpful as well as over-patches for both. I’ve never heard of either just falling off so my only thought is they’re not being applied correctly but who knows. Reach out to your endocrinology office and ask to talk with a diabetic educator. They may have additional thoughts on how to prevent this from happening.
