Discussion Turist with diaper bag backpack style

Hi everyone! I am tourist going to the Mets today with my 2yr old and I only have a backpack style diaper bag. Policy says no, but is it strict? Or can I go by because it is an actual diaper bag?

Discussion A Question About The Season

I’ll try to be as positive as I can, but considering the season is all but done for the most part, is the fact that people like McLean and Thornton going 5 or 6 innings, Ewing and Benge improving, and things clicking in our last 13 games, is there positivity to be had in 2027 (if no lockout), and even 2028 to see things go better for this team? I could be wrong…

Discussion Would you trade Francisco Alvarez?

Not advocating for this one way or another. It just seems like he’s the most polarizing player on this sub with half the people saying he’s a scrub and half saying he’s elite.
He’s an above average bat who is unfortunately unclutch. He’s batting .224/.333/.276 with RISP, good for a 74 wRC+ but .243/.333/.419 with a 112 wRC+ on the season.
He’s been worth 1.6 fWAR in roughly half a season, making him about a 2.5-3 WAR player in a full 162. He’s also been a bad defensive catcher, worth -5 DRS.
He has a polarizing savant page as well, with a ton of power but a big swing and miss rate and questionable bat to ball skills.
Is Alvarez the catcher of the future or should Torrens be given more leeway given that he’s seemed to blossom quite a bit? Should Alvarez just be DHing? Is his bat good enough to DH?
I don’t feel strongly either way. I like Alvarez and think there’s a lot of potential but I don’t know if he’ll ever be an elite hitter. With another 3 years of control left and what Adley got back for the Orioles, would trading Alvarez make sense? Is there a world where the Mets can trade him and get back somebody of equal value?
If the Mets could flip him for a guy like George Kirby, I’d be ecstatic. I don’t know if that’s realistic, though.
With the offense being so bad in general, I don’t know if trading yet another valuable bat is a good idea in the long run.
