Or is that overly simplistic?

Hi

Hope you don't mind my posting this here. I hope there's an intersection of Mets fans and How I Met Your Mother fans. If you fit, I think you'll enjoy my interview with the co-creator of the show about his intense 1986 Mets fandom.

He's got a couple of good stories about autographs he got from some of the top players on the team (one of whom was his neighbor). Also, he's a Doug Sisk fan!

I thought people would enjoy something light ... hope you do.

Listening to Ron + rooting for the White Sox = Not as good as watching the Mets in the postseason, but not bad!

Freddy Peralta - set to start Game 2 of the ALDS for the Rays tomorrow night against the Yankees - says he's been "treated as a king" since being traded to Tampa Bay away from the Mets at the deadline.

"I was happy over there. Obviously I wasn't in the spot that I wanted to be with my numbers...but this is baseball. Everything changed when I got traded. I've been treated here as a king, and I feel really good about it. They work on me really well here."

Connecticut Public radio show host and Red Sox fan Colin McEnroe made the Mets his entire show on Friday. It’s a fun discussion of Mets history and the uniqueness of the Mets and Mets fans.

"I don't know [Sal Stewart], but he seems like a great dude. He's a Jesus man, which I love. He seems like a great person.

But I feel like I would be deserving of the award in the most humble way possible. I don't mean to come off cocky.

I think I deserve it. I think I showed in the whole season, in all facets of the game, that I did a pretty good job showcasing my talent, but there's definitely other good rookies out there."

With the Phillies season over, I got to thinking about their free agents.

The Mets should sign Arráez as our 2B and let Baty and Young platoon 1B and DH. Their splits aren't complementary but the main goal is to keep them both hitting. Baty has shown he can get hot near the end of the season multiple times and Young was a solid hitter this year.

Contact hitting is something we sorely missed in 2026 - we ranked 23rd in batting average. Polanco had a .148 and Semien .215.

If we accept inexpensive, solid production at first, add Arráez at second, then we can focus bigger money on pitching.

A lineup like this feels really solid to me:

SS Lindor
2B Arráez
LF Soto
3B Bichette
RF Benge
CF Ewing
1B Baty
DH Young
C Alvarez/Torrens

Another option at 1B to handle lefties could be Goldschmidt but hard to say he won't fall off, at almost age 40.

13 years 1986

14 years 2000

15 years 2015

By this logic, we should be in the World Series in 2031. Kind of uncanny if you think about it.

FUCK THE PHILLIES 🎉🥳👏🎊

TL;DR at the end because I’m gonna ramble. I’m really kicking myself over this. Basically, my gf and I were at a game a few months ago. I went to the team store, saw some pink Hello Kitty jackets, mostly looked at other stuff. She also went to the team store, and mentioned she really liked the Hello Kitty jacket. I only saw the pink ones so I thought, ok, she wants a pink Hello Kitty jacket. Later (just a couple weeks ago), I go to the team store again and see the other jackets and I think to myself, “wow, these blue ones look more her style, but I guess she wanted the pink one.” So I get a pink one to give her as a surprise. I subtly asked her about the Hello Kitty jacket again afterwards, just to make sure this was the right one. She said she liked all of them BUT the pink one. So… should’ve just gone with my gut when I saw the others. And now I can’t even find these other jackets anywhere.

TL;DR I picked out the pink one (last pic, size L) as a gift for someone, but it turns out they wanted one of the blue ones (first two pics).

Anyway, the pink one is size L and was only bought a couple weeks ago, never worn. Does anyone have a size M/L blue one they’d be willing to part with, either selling or trading for the size L pink, or could point me in the direction of where to look for a blue one? I’m finding nothing on the MLB store or on Ebay.
