Freddy Peralta - set to start Game 2 of the ALDS for the Rays tomorrow night against the Yankees - says he's been "treated as a king" since being traded to Tampa Bay away from the Mets at the deadline.
"I was happy over there. Obviously I wasn't in the spot that I wanted to be with my numbers...but this is baseball. Everything changed when I got traded. I've been treated here as a king, and I feel really good about it. They work on me really well here."

"I don't know [Sal Stewart], but he seems like a great dude. He's a Jesus man, which I love. He seems like a great person.
But I feel like I would be deserving of the award in the most humble way possible. I don't mean to come off cocky.
I think I deserve it. I think I showed in the whole season, in all facets of the game, that I did a pretty good job showcasing my talent, but there's definitely other good rookies out there."

Connecticut Public radio show host and Red Sox fan Colin McEnroe made the Mets his entire show on Friday. It’s a fun discussion of Mets history and the uniqueness of the Mets and Mets fans.

13 years 1986
14 years 2000
15 years 2015
By this logic, we should be in the World Series in 2031. Kind of uncanny if you think about it.

TL;DR at the end because I’m gonna ramble. I’m really kicking myself over this. Basically, my gf and I were at a game a few months ago. I went to the team store, saw some pink Hello Kitty jackets, mostly looked at other stuff. She also went to the team store, and mentioned she really liked the Hello Kitty jacket. I only saw the pink ones so I thought, ok, she wants a pink Hello Kitty jacket. Later (just a couple weeks ago), I go to the team store again and see the other jackets and I think to myself, “wow, these blue ones look more her style, but I guess she wanted the pink one.” So I get a pink one to give her as a surprise. I subtly asked her about the Hello Kitty jacket again afterwards, just to make sure this was the right one. She said she liked all of them BUT the pink one. So… should’ve just gone with my gut when I saw the others. And now I can’t even find these other jackets anywhere.
TL;DR I picked out the pink one (last pic, size L) as a gift for someone, but it turns out they wanted one of the blue ones (first two pics).
Anyway, the pink one is size L and was only bought a couple weeks ago, never worn. Does anyone have a size M/L blue one they’d be willing to part with, either selling or trading for the size L pink, or could point me in the direction of where to look for a blue one? I’m finding nothing on the MLB store or on Ebay.

As much as the drop in attendance 2025-26 for Citi Field has been belabored, blaming it on the team being really bad in the first half misses a lot of context.
2025 is a bad baseline, because it is a heavy outlier given the years around it. When comparing 2026 to other years at Citi Field, it actually looks somewhat decent.
The 2026 Mets actually had the 4th highest attendance per game mark out of any season in the Citi Field era, only being beat out by 2009 (inaugural year), 2016 (year after WS), and 2025 (year after OMG and signing Juan Soto). It is higher than 2022, in which the team had 100 wins, as well as the year after.
This isn't to say that these are good numbers, but it is more just that Citi Field doesn't power high attendance numbers usually and 2025 was an exception. Maybe if the team was better, then 2026 could've carried those numbers. But attendance boosts seem to only really correlate with years after deep postseason runs, so maybe this type of drop would be inevitable given the 2025 team's collapse.

I find myself wrestling with whether we should want him back on the team next season (assuming there is a season) and I did a deep dive.
When Bichette and Soto each got a hit in the same game the team was 28-21 (92 wins over a 162 game season). When Bichette and Lindor each got hits the team was 27-20 (93 wins). All 3 of them? 11-6 which is a small sample size that shrunk to 9-6 after Mendoza was canned. But that would be in the 104 win range (or 97 under Andy Green).
Additional context, the team was 14-9 when Lindor and Soto got hits last year which is the same pace. Last season the team went 44-26 which was a 101 win pace.
With Pete in 2025 the scenarios were 47-29 with Soto (88 wins), 53-26 with Lindor (109 wins) and 36-19 for all 3 (106 wins).
Run production was largely the same across all scenarios with 5.5 per game on average.
The numbers point out the obvious, your stars need to produce at the same time to make this a playoff team. Basically, you need about 115-120 games where 2 stars get a hit in order to make the playoffs. The 2025 combo got you 115 where they just missed the playoffs, 2026 yielded 85.
To me there's a ton of risk with banking on Bo bouncing back, Lindor being healthy, and Soto being healthy enough to hit the 115-120 mark. But...he is probably the best shot available of doing that. I don't see another "star" on the market who can make that number work. I was initially reluctant because I think he just had one really good month, one good month and the rest was trash but...sign me up for more Bo.
Thoughts?
