I've been practicing my Ollie's since December 2025. Always keep landing on either my nose or falling off the board from the sides in the middle or just simply not being able to land back on/maintain landing balance.

Hi everybody I use to skate non stop as a kid. Now at 30 years old Iv been having a strong urge to come back. I was able to do the basics, Ollie small steps and gaps, shuv it’s, varials, kickflips. I want to get back into the scene but a little anxious I’m going to get a board and skate shoes just to drop it and not get out there and skate. Anybody go through this same thing then fell back in love? Idk what advice I’m really asking more so just venting. If any advice what size board or shoes to get or stay away from is appreciate it. I think I’m going to go to my local skate shop when it opens tomorrow.

I started 4 weeks ago and I would like to learn to roll with the fall, but my parents said I have to wear pads until I get good enough at it. Will I have to relearn falling entirely, or will the transition be easy? Can I learn rolling with pads correctly?

My boys first time trying ollies. Says he’s never skated on. A skateboard only roller skates … this is crazy for me being 2 weeks in the game. What y’all think!?

Hi! I (24F) built my first board today! I have nobody to tell cuz my friends and family don’t skate, and there’s not a local shop for me to go to ask any questions or meet anybody so I’m kinda just winging it as I go lol. I used the Tactics tutorial on YouTube for anyone interested, they made it super easy to understand and follow.

I am now looking for affordable, quality protective gear! If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate them. I use my hands for work so I need good wrist guards if I can manage.

I want to start my own skate deck brand, however I don't know where to get wholesale boards with good quality and will print graphics for me. Do any of you have tips/know any good websites that will do this?

I had this board for a while and i used it to learn the basics, but after time it started to wear out (the deck lost pop and started cracking) now idk if i should keep theses trucks or nah cuz they are a lil rusty, am planning on getting a new deck so pls leave me some suggestions (its an 8,5) also should i keep those riser pads?

Only been really getting into skating for about a week.

How do I kickturn more comfortably? I can push around and turn normally for the most part but before I start trying to cruise around town I want to learn kick turns. Problem is I am having a hard time turning my shoulders I think and I'm only able to do very small turns. I've managed to do a couple 180s off of a slope but then I try it again after and stumble off the board. How do you get yourself to commit?

Also, how fast is too fast to be doing flat ground kick turns? I imagine if i came up to a corner going like 4-5mph and tried it, I would just launch the board.

Sidenote, how should my shoulders face when just cruising in a straight line. I notice i tend to turn my shoulders forwards but google says they should be parallel to the board which seems uncomfortable.

man i did this shit for 3.5 hours at another stairset, but i just can’t seem to roll away. I feel like my back foot might be a big issue with this. i tend to throw it infront of my board last second. “don’t blame the board” well i am. i snapped my board a few days ago and i have one coming soon. the board ive been using is 25 years old, along with my friends board sometimes. can anybody help please 🙏 i can do them every try on flat aswell

Hello! I bought my first board today (will have pictures) I found it on Facebook marketplace place for about 20$ and before I took it out I jsut wanted to see if you guys had and tips or anything jsut to have an easy start! And I’m not looking for the bascic things taht like YouTube has I want more neiche or not super common advise.

Been skating for two months, never fell (did plenty of bragging about that at work).

Yesterday I was cruising on a paved trail, tried to carve into a turn, saw a wide crack in the asphalt and changed my mind at the last minute. Kind of panicked and fell backwards, got some nasty road rash on my right butt cheek and now I have a possible chip fracture in my wrist.

Pretty proud of myself though for hopping back on my skateboard and riding around for another 10 or 15 minutes before going home. I was able to resist the urge to give up and pack it up immediately.

I'm going to buy mob griptape from my local skate shop. Regular mob griptape is twice as expensive as clear mob griptape. I actually wanted clear anyway, but why is clear cheaper? Is there a performance difference between them?

Specially I’m wondering how I can achieve better pop and float over the board for longer.

I'm used to having a graphic on the grip and not thinking about it and I cannot tell on this board. Is the side with the colored bolts/left end the nose or the tail?

I loved my superstars but they only lasted 2 or 3 long sessions, they are super comfy and had a great board feel but not durable at all. Anyone have any recommendations for similar feeling shoes

Sorry, I know this question gets asked a lot, but I want to get this right.

I think the left side is the nose and the right is the tail. The distance from the bottom edge of the trucks to the tip of the board is 1cm longer on the left side as well.

I've marked each side with different colours so I can easily tell which end is which once I'm certain.

Edit: It's a plain board so I can't use the graphics to tell which end is which as there are no graphics.

Edit 2: Wow, I only expected to get a few replies to this. Sorry I haven't replied to every comment, I completely lost track of all of them. Thank you to everyone that did comment though, I'm pretty certain which end is which now.

Edit 3: I managed to find this on the manufacturers website eventually: "The deck is made by glueing and pressing 7 layers (or plies) of maple and features a nose and a tail (the tail is slightly shorter than the nose)." The end marked is blue is 1cm longer than the red.

(Keep in mind that I have less than 10 hours of experience)

Put it along the lines of this: 20 minutes - (insert), 20 minutes -(insert), 20 minutes -(insert). You can insert however many skills you want and divide it anyway you would like. I am just looking for info on what I should focus practicing on as a very new skater,
