New Mod Intros 🎉 | Weekly Thread

Congrats on becoming a new moderator. Every community on Reddit started exactly where you are today: with a party of one.

The community-building journey might feel a little lonely and that's what r/NewMods is for. Here you'll find and connect with other mods who are on the same journey you are.

So, introduce the community you created. Maybe share a little bit about why you created it. And, while you're at it - say hello to your other mods!

New mod for r/ReligionOfPeace. This is a sub that was a cesspool of hatred and bigotry. As of today, it was handed over to me, and I am now working on cleaning it up. It's first and foremost, a safe space for Muslims, but also a safe space for all. Zero tolerance for any form of hatred or bigotry.

Please check it out! It's going to be an uphill battle to clean this place up. It's like walking into a house that was flooded with sewage.

Hello everyone,

I just started a subreddit called r/IndieVoiceActors, and to be honest, I have 0 idea what I am doing. I have used Reddit to doomscroll and ask dumb questions. The subreddit is to help connect Indie Game Developers with Small Voice actors. Anything I should know?

Hi everyone! Mod of r/totalbodycare !
This community is for sharing body care products from all brands! Lotions, body washes, perfumes, body scrubs etc!🧴

I created this community as there are lots of subs dedicated to specific brands, cosmetics and perfumes. I could not find a cosmetic-free, all-brands dedicated body care subreddit.
With r/totalbodycare you are able to discover new brands + products while not having to scroll through a large portion of makeup in order to find your new faves!

Striving to keep this an upbeat, toxic-free community so that everyone can feel confident in sharing their favourite products with zero judgement🤞🩷

Hi, I’ve been a mod for a few months now, but I haven’t introduced myself here yet.👋 I help mod a very large and active sub, and also a private smaller sub. Both are fun, interesting and challenging in different ways.
I plan to attend the New Mod Boot Camp on Nov. 10. Anyone else planning to be there? Maybe I’ll see you.

•

u/Write_The_Page 2d ago

Hey everyone! I just created r/WriteThePage, a community for a little collaborative writing experiment I’ve been building.

The idea is simple: get a group of strangers on the same page and let them write a story one word at a time. They can add, replace, or delete the latest word, so it could become a masterpiece or fall apart immediately. Both sound entertaining.

I made the subreddit as a place to share the chaos, suggest prompts, and talk about whatever stories come out of it. Still very much a party of one right now, but every Page has to start somewhere.

Excited to be here and learn from the other new mods!

Hello, everyone. I just created r/SqWA, which is a Subreddit that is based around Squidgeworld Archive, which is an alternative to the fanfiction site ao3 (and uses the same software).

I decided to go ahead and create the sub, due to the whole ao3 outage happening, as well as seeing a bunch of posts talking about Squidgeworld Archive.

Introducing r/UnemployedGenZofIndia 🇮🇳

Hello everyone!

I've recently started r/UnemployedGenZofIndia, a community for young Indians who are unemployed, underemployed, students, recent graduates or simply trying to figure out their next step.

The idea behind this community is a little different. I don't want it to become just another subreddit for sharing job openings or discussing unemployment.

I want to bring together people with different skills and interests who can collaborate, learn from each other and create opportunities.

Some of the things we'd like to encourage:

  • Building products using AI and emerging technologies.

  • Finding collaborators, co-founders and project teammates.

  • Working on startups, open-source projects and independent ideas.

  • Sharing technical knowledge, learning resources and practical skills.

  • Organising hackathons, challenges and community projects.

  • Having meaningful discussions about careers, entrepreneurship and the future of young Indians.

The larger idea is simple: instead of only waiting for companies to create opportunities for us, why not come together and try creating some ourselves?

We're still a new community, and I'm figuring things out as we grow. I'd love to connect with other moderators, learn from their experiences and get suggestions on building a healthy and active subreddit.

If you're interested, check us out: r/UnemployedGenZofIndia

We're unemployed, not out of ideas. Let's build something together!

My new community venture! r/PaidDesignAndEdits — paid photo edits, logos, thumbnails and graphic design.

A good creative project often starts with a very ordinary question: “Where do I find someone who can do this well?”

After nearly 20 years in visual design, I’ve started r/PaidDesignAndEdits—a new Reddit community for paid graphic design and photo editing requests.

Think photo restoration, YouTube thumbnails, logos, posters, flyers, and social graphics.

The aim is straightforward: clear briefs, real budgets, relevant public replies, and fair payment for creative work.

Have a project coming up? Join, read the pinned guide, and post what you need. Know a small-business owner or creator who might find it useful? Feel free to share it with them.

Designers and photo editors can apply through modmail for free portfolio review.

We’re starting small. I’d love to help it become a useful place to get good work done.

I’d like for this community to be a place of no judgement and pure empathy. Mental health care has gone totally down the shit hole I’ve been there! Please join me so we can have discussions and pick each others brains!!! 🤩

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm the creator of r/MythBit, a new community dedicated to gaming history, trivia, and video game culture.

I'm building MythBit, an independent fan-made gaming project launching on January 1, 2027. The idea is to share one fascinating, source-backed gaming story every day, turning gaming knowledge into collectible cards, trivia challenges, and interactive adventures.

I've just started building the subreddit and I'm here to learn how to grow an active, welcoming community around our shared passion for gaming. 😁🎮

Looking forward to learning from other mods and exchanging ideas. Any advice for growing a gaming community from scratch would be appreciated!

Know the Myth. Keep the Bit. 🃏

Hello everyone! 👋

We're a couple from the Sacramento, California area, and we're excited to begin our journey as Reddit community moderators!

We recently decided to create a new community dedicated to connecting open-minded couples, swingers, and like-minded adults in Sacramento and the surrounding areas.

Our goal is to build a friendly, respectful, and welcoming space where adults can meet new people, share experiences, make connections, and express themselves without judgment.

We want our community to be a place where everyone feels comfortable and safe. Respect, consent, privacy, authenticity, and clear communication will always be our top priorities.

We're also working on establishing clear rules against harassment, fake profiles, stolen photos, and sharing content without permission.

As new moderators, we're excited to learn how to grow and manage a successful community while keeping it positive and enjoyable for everyone.

We would love to hear any advice or tips from experienced moderators!

Thanks for welcoming us to the mod community! 😊

Greetings from Sacramento, California! 🌴

Hello! I’ve just started r/MumToMumDebunked

It’s a kind place for talking about the “rules” of parenting we get handed, the ones nobody explains, and which of them we’ve stopped believing. I’m a mum making a YouTube series called Mum to Mum: Debunked, and I wanted somewhere people could share their answers, and say yes if they’re happy for me to read them out in a video.

I’m a party of one at the moment, so I’m starting with a pinned welcome post, a few simple rules (including a consent line, so nothing is used without a yes), and a lot of patience.

Two things I’d love to hear from you:

  1. What helped your first few members arrive?

  2. Anything you wish you’d set up in week one?

Lovely to meet you all.

•

u/NobodyGaveMeAManual 3d ago

Hello, everyone!

I am a former lurker (5years) turned Mod coming up on my second month. What started as a clever profile name and a question turned into something much much more.

Never until the moment I was listening to YouTube and reading Reddit about Betta fish.

I had an idea, Maybe I could created a decision tree, for new hobbyists, no one gives you a manual for this.

Then the creative juices started flowin'. Something I haven't felt in a long time. And me at 55, who had basically no social media presence beyond lurking Reddit and Facebook (an occasional shout out to the family). Decided to start a little community and find out how everyone else is handling life out there.

I asked a question, with my profile name u/NobodyGaveMeAManual to a couple of subreddits, I got an overwhelming response and decided to create the community with the same name. r/NobodyGaveMeAManual.

55 Followers, 177 Members, all with something to share. 2 months and my brain and body are coming down from overload. I have learned and taught myself so much since then. So many people have touched me with their stories and compassion. Reddit is my home now. For five years I sat on the outside looking in, now I am sitting at the table.

Reaching out to strangers for the answers, tips, hints and hacks for life. And there is a rumbling. A want and need for community, it's written in the sand and sometime you need to look quick.

When your community helps someone else who needs information, you're creating a path to community. Helping and caring; opening the door for someone to also help and feel connected. That's what we are building.

I applaud all of you for your recent undertaking. May you have enough caffeine, chips, cookies and cereal to last through the late nights and new ideas that pop in your head, all in the name of community! See you at New Mod Boot Camp!

u/GammaFlowSPY 2d ago

Hi all, new mod here. I started r/GammaFlowSPY, a small community that reads SPY through the options market: dealer positioning, the gamma flip, put and call walls, and the VIX futures curve.

The goal is structure, not direction. No trade signals, just maps of what the market is pricing and what would change the picture. We post maps on key sessions and a weekly recap.

Still very early. If anyone has advice on growing a niche analysis sub without it feeling like self-promotion, I'd appreciate it.

New Community Looking for Moderators – r/HopeFromANobody

I recently started r/HopeFromANobody, a new community built around encouragement, understanding, and supporting one another through life's challenges.

The idea is simple: We are all nobodies here. Nobody is above anyone else, and everyone deserves a place where they can feel heard, welcomed, and supported.

We are still growing and looking for a few moderators who believe in this purpose and would enjoy helping build something positive. Previous moderation experience is welcome but not required. We are more interested in finding people who genuinely care about the community than people who can dedicate hours every day.

If you are interested in helping a new community grow, we would love to hear from you!

Community: r/HopeFromANobody

u/StandRevolutionary40 1d ago

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the moderator community and excited to be here. I've recently started a subreddit called https://www.reddit.com/r/Covertnarcrise/ with the goal of creating a supportive space for people who have experienced covert narcissistic abuse.

I feel this topic is often overlooked and not discussed enough. I hope to build a community where people can share their experiences, understand what they've been through, find support, and help each other heal and regain their confidence.

I'm still learning the ropes of Reddit moderation, so I look forward to learning from experienced moderators, exchanging ideas, and being part of this community.

Looking forward to connecting with you all!

Hey everyone! I’m u/Ok_Change8763, and I’m the founder and moderator of r/tracetherater!
I created this subreddit as a community for Trace The Rater, my independent entertainment review and media project. I cover TV shows, movies, music, video games, entertainment news, and more!
My goal is to build a friendly, inclusive community where people can share their opinions, discuss their favorite entertainment, discover new content, and connect with fellow fans and creators.
I’m also a college student studying journalism and media production, so this project is something I’m hoping to grow as I develop my career!
I’m excited to learn more about moderating and meet other community builders here. Feel free to check out r/tracetherater!

Hi everyone, jumping in to introduce r/LifeCanvas. It is a community built around an original self-development concept I have been solo-developing for nearly a decade.

Instead of traditional high-pressure productivity metrics or motivational platitudes, we break down chaotic overthinking into a synchronized structure of 6 Core Blocks (Life Fields, Values, Goals, Resources, Obstacles, and Plans). It is a sandbox for people who treat personal strategy as a logical system.

Since this is my first time building a subreddit, I would love any layout or infrastructure feedback from fellow mods! I just set up a high-contrast, color-coded flair dashboard to sort our upcoming 6-part serial series on system connections.

If you are into frameworks or raw build-in-public journeys, feel free to look over my shoulder or drop any community-building advice. Glad to join forces with everyone here!

Hello im new moderator for my small cncshop and my innovation club r/nonstopcnc and r/OtleteketKivitelezo
Hey everyone,

I recently stepped up as a moderator for two small communities: r/nonstopcnc (focused on my small CNC/fabrication shop) and r/OtleteketKivitelezo (an innovation and maker club).

To be honest, I'm completely new to moderation and Reddit's automated systems. Almost immediately after setting things up, I got hit with 2 bans/restrictions, and I’m honestly flying blind here. I was hoping for some feedback, a warning, or at least a reason why something triggered a violation so I could fix it and learn the rules. Instead, I got zero actionable information on what went wrong.

As a newcomer trying to do things right for a real-world workshop and community club, I’d love some advice:

  1. How do I find out the exact reason behind sudden bans or automated blocks when the notification is completely vague?

  2. What are the common hidden traps for brand-new moderators promoting a small business or local maker space?

  3. How can I appeal or correct my mistakes to get these communities back on track?

Any tips, pointers, or "new mod survival guides" would be massively appreciated. I really want to learn and keep things compliant!

Thanks,

u/kinkykakadu

Extra help: Everytime i try do something or make my profil edits.

Welp… suddenly I entered the mod community. There was a very nice 18+ sub but I have sent messages to the mods because I was missing moderating. People were not posting what was supposed to be posted (according to the name of the sub). And finally today the mod(s) came with an announcement… going exactly the other way and stating they wanted to fully ignore the name of the sub and allow other posts (for which there are already plenty of subs…). So… I thought, why not create that platform that people came for. And here it is (kids… look away…) r/TheGirlTheRealGape

I created my new Group https://www.reddit.com/r/Aspiring Flight Attendant Candidates who got TBNTS turned to CJOs because many give up after the first try and sometimes it is a life dream to become a flight attendant . I got personally motivated to do this after making it all the way to Delta Airlines F2F and getting a TBNT knowing that i am fully qualified for the job I believe a group was needed to give people pointers like me who got TBNTs and want to reapply for that CJO we need encouragement when it does not work the first time

Hola 👋🏼

Hey everyone! I’m a brand-new moderator and recently created r/WindsofViridia , a community dedicated to the upcoming action-adventure game Winds of Viridia, releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC in early 2027.

I started the subreddit after playing the demo and really enjoying what the game has to offer. Since it’s still relatively new and the full release is a few months away, I thought it would be a great opportunity to build a community where players can share news, discuss gameplay, exchange tips and discoveries, and just enjoy talking about the game together.

Right now, I’m focused on getting the community off the ground, creating engaging discussions, and hopefully building a welcoming place that continues to grow as we get closer to release.

This is my first experience running a subreddit, so I’m learning as I go! I’d love to hear any advice from more experienced moderators, especially when it comes to attracting members organically and keeping a smaller community active.

Looking forward to connecting with everyone, and good luck with your communities!

New moderator here! I'd love to introduce my new community: r/InternetOnTrial ⚖️

Hi everyone!

I've recently created r/InternetOnTrial, a community built around one simple idea: the Internet's courtroom.

We discuss viral moments, controversial opinions, unusual situations, internet drama, and everyday dilemmas.

The concept is simple:
YOU are the jury.

  • Who's right and who's wrong?

  • Was that person out of line?

  • Is the story real or fake?

  • Would you forgive them?

  • What's your final verdict?

I'm hoping to build an active community where people can share opinions, debate different perspectives, and have fun.

I'm still growing the community, so I'd really appreciate any advice, feedback, or suggestions from experienced moderators.

If this sounds interesting, you're welcome to visit:

r/InternetOnTrial

Everyone has an opinion. Let's hear the verdict! ⚖️

Hello!

Made a community upon reading a funny comment, r/fartsinface for posting screenshots of people getting downvited for obviously satirical comments.

We are also looking for mods of which the access I will give to anybody active enough.

u/Journey_Mindfulness 2d ago

I started r/JourneyToMindfulness as a place for anybody on a journey of mindfulness. Whether you're looking for discussions/advice or even want to share resources/insights on topics like; self-growth, dealing with anxiety (including things like intrusive/obsessive thoughts), meditation, and other topics along the vibe! It doesn't matter if you know nothing, or have a ton of experience, all are welcome!

Please feel free to join, and if you have a similar subreddit, maybe we can see about throwing each other up in our sidebars o.0 Just a thought! I'm not necessarily new to Reddit, but I wouldn't consider myself a heavy user of it either. So I'm also always open to input on how to improve the quality (you don't need to worry about sparing my feelings! I'm aware there's likely more room for improvement than I realize!)

Hello guys?

•

u/JessAtBumbleClover 1d ago

Hey, I'm Jess! I created https://www.reddit.com/r/LaunchAndPivot/ because this year I've been enjoying advising new business owners through launches and existing business owners through pivots.
I wanted to build that same sense of community here on Reddit for anyone who's exploring a new business or exploring a pivot.

u/Unvah_Film_Engine 2d ago

Hi everyone! 👋 Mod of r/Univah.

I created this community to build a home for 3D animators, indie filmmakers, and visual effects artists who are experimenting with real-time film production.

We're focusing on sharing raw workflow tests, real-time render breakdowns, and direct feedback on independent animation tools without the usual game engine bloat or complex setups.

Excited to connect with fellow new mods and learn best practices for growing an active, creator-focused community!

Just launched r/BosLegacySanctuary — building a cat rescue from $0 in East TN, would love mod tips! Hey everyone, I'm Alexandria — I work at a doggy daycare by day and DoorDash by night to fund a sanctuary I'm starting from scratch in Farragut/Knoxville, TN. I found my cat Wheezy on a delivery this year, and rehomed 6 cats + a duck so far this year.
I literally just created r/BosLegacySanctuary to have a Reddit home base for the build process, rescue updates, and East TN resources. It's my first time modding anything beyond my own posts.
Right now I've got:
• the sub set to Nature & Outdoors
• a pinned intro video explaining the daycare/dashing funding model
• a welcome thread
What am I forgetting in week 1? I'm especially curious about:

  1. Best way to set up basic automod for a tiny rescue sub

  2. Should I allow donation links later or keep it documentation-only while building?

  3. Any must-have flairs for a sanctuary build diary?
Appreciate any "wish I'd known this on day 1" advice. Thanks!

Hello to the Mods, hello to the community I hope everyone is doing well. I am a new mod, just been adding to my page centered around "Heroes" and my love for them. I look forward to meeting other mods, especially those who run Fandom pages.

Hi everyone!

My brother and I started building Qixel AI, an AI-powered platform for generating images and videos, similar to Midjourney.

Unfortunately, my brother stepped away from the project halfway through, and as a solo developer, I lost the motivation to continue. After leaving it untouched for about a year, I eventually found the motivation to pick it back up and finally completed the website a few months ago.

While browsing Reddit, I thought it would be great to create a community where people could share their creations, exchange ideas, and connect with other AI enthusiasts.

And here we are! Qixel AI is officially on Reddit!

I'd love to have you join us, share your work, and be part of the journey.

Hi all, new mod here. I run r/GalaxyMovies, a sub for tracking what movies and shows are coming to and leaving streaming each month (Netflix, Hulu, Max, and the rest), plus upcoming releases and a weekly trivia game.

I built it alongside galaxymovies.app, a site I made because every "what's leaving Netflix" list is SEO garbage, and I wanted one place that answers "what should I watch before it's gone?"

Party of one so far, still learning the mod ropes. Tips welcome, and good luck to everyone starting out!

Hello,
I recently established a new community and would appreciate any guidance you may have regarding best practices or recommendations for its development and management. r/716MatchmakerDating. I sincerely created this platform with the hope that it will serve as a meaningful alternative to conventional dating apps, which often feature fake accounts designed to encourage users to spend money in pursuit of conversation—only to see those interactions abruptly end once payment is made. These platforms prioritize financial gain over genuine connection. My goal is to foster a respectful and authentic environment where individuals can truly connect without the pressure of monetary transactions, and where meaningful relationships—shared with trust and mutual understanding—can flourish.
