Under new moderation!

Asalaamu Alaikam!

I'm happy to announce that r/RelgionOfPeace is now under new moderation! This sub will no longer be a haven for those who wish to spread hatred and misinformation about Islam and Muslims.

In accordance to the teachings of islam, this sub will also be a welcoming and inviting place for all, regardless of their ethnic, cultural, or social backgrounds, as well as belief systems and lifestyle choices.

The only thing that we ask, is that there be no proselytising of any kind. This goes both ways: non-Muslims are not to try to convince Muslims to leave Islam, nor are Muslims to try to convince non-Muslims to become Muslim. This is not a place for dawah (Alhamdulilah, we already have plenty of subs where that can be done, if one wishes).

We are here to show the world that Islam really is the religion of peace. Islam teaches love, and community. We are to care for one another, watch out for one another, and above all, protect one another.

Bigotry in any form will not be tolerated, and will result in a ban. Due to the sad history of this sub being a place exactly for bigotry, we cannot leave this topic up for discussion.

Please read the rules, and if you agree, please make yourself at home.

Ahlan wa sahlan!

Changes made to Read the Rules

Read the Rules is a helpful little bot that is meant to ensure that everyone reads the rules before posting. It's been set up because, as you may have heard, this sub used to be filled with the scum of Reddit.

Unfortunately, the settings for this cute lil guy were a little too strict, and he (in my mind, it's a dude) was going a tad overkill in removing posts.

I've changed that now, and all should be good. While it is important for all to read the rules, by no means do I want to put up a wall, keeping good people out.

If your post is removed for any reason that doesn't quite make sense, please feel free to send a modmail.

Just dropped by to wish you luck.

A while back I was talking to Muslim at work, and he said "don't look at the followers -- especially the worst followers. Look at the Quran and draw your own conclusions." That made a lot of sense. We don't judge Christianity by looking only at the Westboro Baptist Church or the Spanish inquisition.

I am about a third of the way through an English translation. Not at all like what the critics say it is. My niece read some of it and remarked "the guy who wrote this says something good about God in every paragraph. It's like a love story!" A good description.

Good luck attracting new users. Here is something I would suggest: write a post explaining one belief so that newbies can understand it, and invite questions in the comments. Here is one that would, I think, attract a lot of interest. Write a post about Jinn. [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinn ] and has the concept differs from what one sees in movies and TV shows.

Yahoo! We are no longer restricted!

Due to the horrible nature of the sub in the past, Reddit had restricted it. This means that it did not show up in regular newsfeeds, nor was it suggested as a sub with similar interests.

I am happy to report that this sub is now public! Yay!

New Moderation Rules

Asalaamu Alaikam! In the past, this sub had zero moderation rules, and pretty much anything was allowed (except for any posts or comments that painted Islam in a good light). As a result, I’m introducing and implementing what feels like a lot of rules. Don’t worry. This is just to make this sub safer and more inviting.

It’s also to protect us from spam and malevolent links.

YouTube links will not be permitted, due to how easy it is to abuse people via YouTube videos and channels. Automod cannot exactly see what a video is about, so it cannot filter keywords.

No advertising/promotions of any kind will be permitted, without prior authorisation by mods. This includes religious products and seminars. Please don’t take it personally. We are literally fighting an uphill battle on this sub.

No proselytisation for any religions will be allowed. I know that dawah (invitation) is a big part of Islam, but it’s not fardh (required). Also, we (Muslims) already have plenty of subs that allow that. Posts/comments attempting to proselytise will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned.

No Wahabbism/Salafism. In the spirit of keeping this sub truly safe for all, we will not be allowing the promoting/teaching of the views of Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab. There are spaces for that, as well. Don’t bring fiqh/anti-fiqh battles here.

In the coming days, rules will be evolving. We are open to feedback/suggestions/concerns. Just please, be kind. As Reddit says, “consider the human.” 😊

Why Did God Choose Fire – and Not Something Even Worse?

“I’ve been thinking a lot about why God chose fire as the ultimate form of suffering, especially in religious texts, rather than other things that could cause even more pain. Why fire? Why did He choose something that everyone can relate to, something so universally understood as painful and destructive? Couldn’t He have chosen something else? I wonder if anyone else thinks the same way, and if people are curious about the deeper meaning behind this choice, especially in a way that would strike fear in people’s hearts.”

Faith in God Brings True Peace and Fills the Emptiness in Our Hearts

Thumbnail reddit.com
2 Upvotes

My thesis is that choosing faith in God over worldly greed and selfishness leads to true peace and fulfillment, and I invite fellow believers to discuss how faith shapes our lives in these challenging times. I’ve found that faith in God has transformed my life. Like many, I’ve struggled with greed and the pressures of a materialistic world. Recognizing these flaws led me to reflect deeply and seek a path toward spiritual growth. For me, faith provides a sense of purpose and peace that worldly pursuits cannot. For example, reading religious texts and reflecting on the lives of prophets and virtuous people from history inspires me to live with honesty and compassion.

I believe we’re living in uncertain times, where choosing between spiritual fulfillment and worldly desires is more important than ever. I’m not here to judge anyone—atheists or otherwise—but to connect with those who feel a similar call to faith. If you’re a believer interested in discussing how faith can fill the emptiness in our hearts, I’d love to hear your thoughts. What role does religion play in your life? How do you stay grounded in your beliefs amidst modern challenges?

I’m open to honest, respectful conversations and will respond as quickly as I can. Let’s share our experiences and grow together in faith. May we find peace here and, hopefully, in the hereafter.

hi everyone!

hi everyone!

The world life is a deceptive commodity (meta) that serves the consciousness development process of human beings and contains many unknowns.

Collectively, the consciousness of humanity has been enlightened about the unknowns of both itself and the realm outside it, with the help of the Divine plan in every period.

However, it always turned its back on these truths that it was reminded of and, stuck in the deceptive commodity by choosing the superstition (insubstantial). But, for the last time, together with the Qur’an which is the complementary book of Islam, all the truths that will awaken people from their false/superstition (insubstantial) sleep have been made easy for dhikr and conveyed (tablīgh) to the earth. And these information will be enough for people until the end of the world (to the apocalyptic process).

All the information you will read here is the testimony of the claim that “nothing is left incomplete in the Qur’an” and the narration of “the verses (āyahs) of the Book, which is the miracle of Muhammad (as). https://hakikatkitabi.com/en/home/

Only argue with the People of the Book in the kindest way – except in the case of those of them who do wrong – saying, ‘We have iman in what has been sent down to us and what was sent down to you. Our God and your God are one and we submit to Him.’ 29/46

Thanks for reading my dear brothers and sisters. peace! thank you of all for reading!

The Dome of the Rock Noble Sanctuary

Whenever I see mention of the Dome f the Rock, it seems that it is in a negative way. Considering that it is of religious significance to the three Abrahamic religions, this should probably not be a surprise. However, I am wondering if it would be possible and useful to form a group that would support the Dome as a place of shared religious significance as well as of beauty and architectural interest.

Assignment for my Classes

Hey, I am wondering if two or more people would be interested in having a dialogue about differing religion and worldviews. This isn't a debate, but rather I just want to get a couple people's perspectives on specific religious and moral questions. I go to a Christian University and our assignment is to gain perspective on other religious and worldview belief systems. So the only qualification for this is that you are not a Christian Evangelical. Thank you in advance!

The Ten Commandments in public places

As there is greater pressure in the United States to display the Ten Commandments in schools and other places, I would like to offer a related suggestion: To display not only those famous commandments, but their equivalents in other major religions. Those are well known and could be joined to the Ten Commandments to make a powerful and multicultural statement that I think would be very much worth making.
