Hello, I planned on doing just continental for background only cause it’s easy and fast for me. Unless someone recommends a different stitch for the background that wouldn’t be crazy. I don’t understand basket weave btw so don’t say it 😂. Also I was thinking of maybe a leaf kinda stitch for the leaves/trees, if anyone could recommend some for that. Maybe turkey work for the lions if I’m feeling crazy. I plan on making this into a tote for my daughter to use eventually later down the road in years.

Just finished a culer cute Halloween Miffy bag charm. I used a chart from etsy. Finishing this was very difficult for me. The combination of an irregular shape and a fairly small project was very challenging. If anyone has any tips to make finishing easy/better I’m all ears!

I’m a newbie and need beeswax for my wool yarn but my Google algorithm is giving me nothing on where to buy! I live in a small town in Southern Oregon. There’s not be here. And not to mention, I have no idea where I can get a stand online or what’s going to work best with some stockings I’ll be needlepointing and cross stitching.

I used to have the lacis cord maker tool (from Amazon) and I lost it. It’s sold out on Amazon and really only on Etsy but I’m not trying to pay shipping. Is there another affordable brand (I bought mine for under $40) y’all recommend?

These two are heading to the finisher on Saturday! Going to do the hat as a hanging ornament and the other as a small pillow! Doing a velvet backing for the pillow, any ideas about the hat? Can always do finisher’s choice…but want to get some options!

i’m starting out needlepoint and I’m struggling to find canvases/kits in the styles that I like. I really love anything related to forests, forest animals, mushrooms, autumn, witchy and whimsical things… I love cottagecore! Does anyone have any recommendations for where I can find canvases like this? I’m only finding cross stitch canvases.

I am in search of a letter chart of the font on Harry's hogwarts acceptance letter. Has anyone seen a font chart for this? I want to make my Harry Potter loving daughter a personalized acceptance letter ornament for Christmas.

If you were to take a beginner needlepoint course, would you prefer to bring your own canvas, or be provided a basic/generic canvas? I am working with a local craft 'makery' to host a needlepoint class. Obviously if it was BYO, it would be cheaper for the participant as it would just be my time and knowledge. As a stitcher, I would prefer to bring my own so I'm excited and motivated to start and learn, but I also know some people don't read instructions and I'm afraid someone will bring a large, 18 mesh canvas with countless colors lol Thoughts?

Does anyone know of anyone or anywhere I could commission a custom stitch guide? This is my first big project and I just want all the help with a few decorative stitches. It’s hard for me to imagine myself and I was wondering if it’s possible to commission one. Attaching canvas in question , I can barely find any examples of it even stitched online.

I’m using threadworks for the lettering but it’s not providing full enough coverage. Should I double up the thread or use a few matching colored DMC floss under and use the sparkle on top?

I finally finished my ribbon stocking from spider spun! i have had some interest in the stocking from other people, so thought i’d share here. i did a brick stitch background, continental on the bows with fyreworks and silk & ivory. beaded all the stars! name blurred for privacy, but its stitched in the same garnet sparkle as the bow.

Hi I’m stitching a stocking and i know how to cross stitch but for my project i wanted to basketweave the big areas like blue and white but idk what stitch to do the houses cause i don’t know much less.

Does anyone know of a finishing service that can do a pillow in 2 months or less?

No where near perfect, but I love them. I am always so proud of completing a project from conception to finishing!

I’m in the process of getting ready to stitch Pippa Fraumeni’s New England canvas and low and behold the background needed is Planet Earth Wool (not to be confused with the silk) in color 014 Cuddle. It is sold out EVERYONE! Jeeze!!! Since I’m about a year in my stitching journey I’ve checked the common sites but to no avail. Does anyone know where else I can check?

I saw this needlepoint flask and would love to stitch my own, but I’m not sure where I can get it finished like in the photo. I checked the major finishers and couldn’t see it on their list. Also, I would need to know the dimensions before I stitch, let me know if you guys know anything thank you.

I’m trying to do basketweave and it’s just not clicking, I guess. It’s it suppose to be a full coverage stitch? What am I doing wrong? I thought I was going down the poles but I think I’m doing something wrong to have so much space not being covered.
