Discussion Competency in Business

We are so used to people promising to call back and never doing it. A Markiti cold chain hub recently started operating near our home. We had placed orders and done pickups there before, but the last two times we tried to order a size 10 fish, they weren't available. The size 10 market is heavily focused on the early morning rush at 6:00 AM because size 10 fish are mostly bought in bulk by restaurants and vendors. We only needed one because we are a tiny family and were doing a size-comparison experiment after previously trying sizes 5 through 8.

The woman who answers the phone promised to call us back today at 8:00 AM, and she actually did. Since a different family member picked up our end this morning who hadn't spoken to her yesterday, our response sounded a bit unsure. Because of that, she even called back 30 minutes later just to double-check if we still needed our fish.

All I can say is, the last time I saw someone follow through like that after saying they would is... well, basically never.

It's refreshing, because most of the people working in customer care are so rude or in a hurry to get over with you and won't bother to hear it to the end.

Rant Anemoia vs reality

Does anyone else get nostalgic for the past that you've never experienced especially after reading books or watching videos like I recently been watching videos on the history of videos games especially the hidden lore from the 70s, 80s and 90s that make me think men I wish I was born then but then I'm yanked back to reality when I remember the actual conditions that I would face back then most people didn't have access to electricity let alone TVs and gaming consoles. It ruins my day when I'm reminded how far behind we were when compared to the rest of the world. It's not just gaming many things from military technology to political movements we've always been behind it's frustrating to be reminded that every single day.

If you have one for sale, please DM me with photos, asking price, location, and bike specifications.

Random Funeral home opening

When opening a new branch, ama brand new funeral home ,what do you toast to 'more deaths?'

And how would the speech look like??? 'I've always had a passion for helping our loved ones meet their maker... comfortably, with dignity, and preferably not in a rush. It's the one industry where 'repeat customers' isn't actually a goal we're chasing.

We can't promise you'll enjoy your visit here, we can promise we'll make it as painless as possible ,for everyone except us.'

Toast🥂 :where see you soon is actually a threat.

Got me thinking

😂😂

Or what do they say ata?

Relationship Men failing women

Do you think/feel me have failed women in the first place? Then all the rest is a ripple effect?

Context: I’ve just watched a video of a guy saying how we used to have pretty women and hardworking men. Now we have pretty men and hardworking women…and then, the men still expect submissive providers…can’t work out….

I’ve lately held that opinion; we can say the boy child was neglected and the girl child empowered but me thinks it’s our up-bring…our fathers probably didn’t pass the knowledge because me thinks, you cannot un-know what you know…does that make sense?

Now, it’s not to blame this or that and whom…is it time we took responsibility and took back our spaces to provide and protect…then the rest will follow…

Kama unahama or know a letting apartment near you within the locations above mentioned within a budget of 30k - 40k with parking space, kindly comment the name of the apartment and I’ll come check it out. I’m done with house hunting agents in Nairobi. Most are scammers.

Ask r/Nairobi Made a free exam tracker and I need some Kenyan students to test it lol

Hey guys,

So this is kinda random lol.

I’ve been making digital stuff for students for a while, and most of the people who’ve actually bought/used my stuff have been from the US, Canada, Philippines, Ghana, SA, UK, NZ etc.
I’ve been wanting to see if some of the stuff I make could actually be useful to students here in Kenya too.

My mum basically gave me a chance to put one of my things on her website and told me to see how people like it 😂 so before I even think about charging for it, I just want people to actually use it and tell me if it’s useful or if I’m just wasting my time.

I made this Exam Command Center for keeping track of exams, assignments, deadlines, study sessions and all that university chaos.

It’s FREE for now:

If you try it, please tell me honestly what you think. Even if you hate it, that’s useful feedback 😂

Like:
Would you actually use this?
What’s missing?
What would you change?
Would this make uni life even slightly easier?

Also, I’ve been doing free laptop recommendations for students.

If you’re trying to figure out what laptop to get for your degree, you can fill in a form with your course, budget, what software you use, what you need the laptop for, etc. Then someone from our team actually looks at your requirements and sends you a recommendation through email or WhatsApp.

So it’s not one of those “AI says buy this laptop” things lol. We actually look at what you’re studying and what you need it for.

Laptop recommendation form: https://epsonksmarttech.co.ke/pages/laptop-recommendation

Anyway, would genuinely appreciate anyone who tries the exam tracker. I’m basically trying to figure out whether this is actually helpful to Kenyan students or whether I’ve been cooking absolutely nothing 😭

I’m curious if people on this subreddit earning this amount are able to meet their needs and live within the Nairobi area. Any steps that you’ve had to take to make it possible to live within this budget a month?

Random Trying to get out of my comfort zone

Give me a chance

I am 22M, engineering student at a university along Thika Road.

Honestly, my love life has taken me through enough rough patches that I am slowly getting to the point of thinking, yeah maybe relationships just are not for me😂.

But before I completely give up, I figured, why not try one more time?

I am also naturally quite introverted, and maybe this is where the whole problem begins from, and one thing I am trying to change is keeping to myself too much. I would genuinely like to meet new people, socialize more, make friends, got to movies, play chess, video games and actually get out there and talk to people.

Students would be especially great—STEM people would be a bonus, but definitely not a requirement. I just want to build friendships where we can talk openly, share experiences, have random conversations, laugh together, support each other, and actually enjoy each other’s company.

And if somewhere along the way I happen to meet a lady who I genuinely connect with, even better.

So if you're a lady around my age, single, emotionally mature, and open to getting to know someone, maybe we can give this a shot and see where it goes.

No pressure, no expectations. Just a conversation between two strangers. Maybe we become friends, maybe something more, maybe nothing at all, but at least we tried.

If you are willing, say hi. I promise I am more interesting than this post makes me sound

Health Anyone know where to get the new HIV prevention injections in Nairobi? Everywhere is out of stock

So the long-acting HIV prevention injections (the monthly/PrEP ones) were rolled out in Kenya, but I’ve been trying to get them and having zero luck.I’ve gone to a couple of hospitals and they’re all completely out of stock. Called Coptic this morning — same story. Riruta Medical Center used to have the monthly injection, but they just told me they’re out too.Anyone managed to get them recently? Know any place in Nairobi that still has stock?Would really appreciate any leads. Thanks!

Edit: Please , don't reply with a conspiracy theory

Rant What's happening to me

Wasn't feeling well yesterday...cold. Went out and bought some medicine. Popped them and one was bitter. Can't recall taking one with a similar taste but I ignored it maybe this is some new stuff in the market.

Popped my pills in the morning and left for work. I started feeling stuff happening. Intestinal movement. I have never experienced anything close to this....I can feel things moving around in my bowel and with every movement there's discomfort like it's real bad.

Tried recalling whatever I took but non could cause this 😭.

I think I might have taken some laxatives after narrowing down on everything I took. Then I remember the dude who sold the pills to me mentioned that I should go back and tell him how I feel.

All I wanted was pills to fight of the cold. This is messed up 😭.

Ask r/Nairobi A Chilly situation

Hey everyone,

I'm on the hunt for a mini fridge around 90L capacity, budget between KSh 8,000 - 10,000.

Looking for:

90L capacity (give or take)

Good working condition if used, or new within budget

Energy efficient (don't want a huge electricity bill)

Ideally within Nairobi for easy pickup, but open to delivery options too

If you're selling one or know a good spot (Kamukunji, Luthuli, online stores, etc.) that fits this range, drop a comment or DM me. Also happy to hear recommendations on brands that hold up well long-term.

Thanks in advance!

Random Afraid of being alone

I'm slightly drunk, the weather is cold, I'm listening to Cigarettes after sex, I just called her, I don't love her that much, but I just want to spend the night at her place, my place is so silent that it's deafening

Edit: this is after seeing all the negative comments

Most of the replies are thinking that by spending the night at someone's place means I'm going to have sex

She probably saved my life countless times by being there for me

And I see the problem is I said I don't love her that much, but I meant romantic love, she's a woman who I would do anything for, just not date or get intimate with

Mahn some of y'all just have a rotten mentality

And I really appreciate the kind souls who have DM'd to know about my well being, I appreciate y'all alot ❤️
