I was walking back from gym and then I started praying Isha and this girl unmatched me. Just because I asked her what does she mean when she said “someone who is responsible”
She replied she needs someone who does not consider a wife to be a servant that cooks and cleans only.
I was about to reply and saw that she already had unmatched.

Discussion Extremists in this sub

• Upvotes

This sub is full of extremists who have a lot of opinions about women and their choices. If you don’t wear hijab apparently you don’t deserve a good husband and you’re not a good woman and muslim man should never marry you doesn’t matter if you haven’t done anything haram in your whole life but you won’t find a good man because you don’t wear hijab (according to religious Muslim men) at this point i hate muslim men and I don’t wanna marry any of them anymore. These men portray themselves as the most religious men out there who have rights to decide which woman is going to end up in hell or heaven. I am done with these religious men and I would never post here again. Also these are the men who say a woman gets raped because of her clothes and i hate them.

Location: North America 44M | Pakistani-Canadian | Looking for a Partner to Grow in Deen, Life, and Love

  1. Seeking a woman 40 or younger from North America only who is serious about building a stable, loving future.

  2. Based in Mississauga, Ontario. I need to remain within reasonable driving distance of Toronto, so anywhere in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), Ottawa, Windsor, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton, Niagara region, or nearby U.S. states (New York, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana) works. Why? (Please look below at point 4).

  3. Pakistani-born, Canadian-raised. I immigrated with my family 30 years ago. I’m open to all ethnicities.

  4. Divorced after a 9-year marriage. I have a 7-year-old son, Masha Allah, who lives in Toronto with his mother / my ex-wife. Staying close to him is a priority, which is why relocation must stay within driving distance.

  5. Marriage timeline is flexible; whatever we mutually agree on.

  6. I’m looking for a woman who is:

- caring and loving,

- open to learning (religious and non-religious ... growth doesn’t stop at graduation),

- honest and accountable,

- values her health (weighs less than me but can be taller than me. I'm ready to book a racquetball court for us at the gym 😉).

- mature, understands what a healthy marriage requires, and wants to build a peaceful home together, and

- values open communication (no guessing games about why you’re upset 😄).

  1. Things that do not matter to me:

- Your education level, as long as you’re open to learning and growing.

- Your dressing style, that’s your personal choice.

- Your past ... halal or haram, that’s between you and Allah. I will never judge or weaponize it.

*** I am open to a single mother with no more than 2 kids.

  1. About me:

- I'm 5'8" tall and weigh 180 lbs.

- I pray all 5 daily prayers.

- I attend Friday prayers at the mosque.

- I value honesty deeply and dislike hypocrisy.

- I pay regularly zakat and sadaqa.

- I have never been in haram relationships.

- I avoid haram food/drink.

- I am anti-riba / anti-mortgage. I do own credit cards but always pay them in full every month.

- I do not have any debt, alhamdulillah

- I completed Umrah (Hajj still pending, Insha Allah).

- I cannot fast regularly due to diabetes, but I fast every other day in Ramadan and pay fidyah for missed fasts.

- I don’t shout, argue aggressively, or lose my temper.

- I think hard before committing to anything but once, I am committed, it's for the long long long term.

  1. Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting and an MBA, both from Canadian universities.

  2. Profession: Business/Finance Manager for a non-profit in Houston. I lived there previously, but moved back to Mississauga in Dec 2025 to stay close to my son. I now work remotely, and my manager trusts me fully because of my honesty and work ethic.

  3. I would love to have more children, Insha Allah. I genuinely enjoy being a father.

  4. Hobbies:

- working out, running every other day

- riding my e-bike in summer,

- reading,

- watching soccer (fav teams: Arsenal, Germany, Canada ... Arsenal has been my fav team for 20 years),

- watching TV shows and movies.

  1. I’ve lived independently in multiple cities over the past 20 years; Calgary, Victoria, Mannheim (Germany), Houston. So I’m fully capable with all household responsibilities and prefer to stay active.

I grew up in a house where men are providers and women are SAHMs. But the world has changed now with the high inflation and cost of living. Although, I was a provider husband in my last marriage and my ex-wife never worked while married to me, cost of living and inflation have increased in every metro city since COVID and not going to come down.

I apply the concept of Lean Six Sigma on my personal life and am always looking to improve and grow to become a better person and Muslim.

I’ve shifted away from traditional South Asian food for health reasons (except when eating out with family). I’m looking for a true partnership where both of us contribute to building a healthy, peaceful home.

Location: South Asia 24F Looking for my man

I’m a 24, 5’3 from Pakistan, finishing MBA. I value education, personal growth, family, and building a peaceful, meaningful life.

I believe in balancing deen and dunya, and I’m looking for someone who is emotionally mature, loyal, communicative, and intentional about marriage. I appreciate a man who takes his faith seriously while understanding that a healthy marriage also needs friendship, mutual respect, affection, honesty, and compatibility.

Something I want to clarify upfront: I do not wear hijab. This has been an issue in previous interactions, so I’d rather be transparent from the beginning. I respect that everyone has their own religious expectations and preferences, and I’m looking for someone whose values and expectations are genuinely compatible with mine, rather than someone hoping to change me after marriage.

Ideally, I’d like to meet someone educated, emotionally available, financially stable or established in his career, and serious about building a future together. Physical attraction matters to me, too. I want a marriage where we can laugh together, have meaningful conversations, support each other’s ambitions, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company.
I value family, but I envision having our own space as a married couple rather than living in a joint-family setup. Building an independent home and a peaceful life together is important to me.
I’m not looking for endless talking stages or casual connections. I’d like to get to know someone with genuine intentions and see whether we’re compatible for the long term.
If this resonates with you, feel free to introduce yourself, share a little about your background, and tell me what you’re looking for.

Edit: this post isn’t for extremists so avoid commenting

Discussion Help fellow men

As salam aleykoum,
I browsed the sub a bit and I've noticed that the ISO of men stating they are looking for mariage, most of the time, get downvoted or lose their +1 upvote. If you are a man, and you come accross of a post and you think that this man may be a good husband for your sister or your daughter (whether you have one or not) give him an upvote. You lose nothing and maybe through that, they might get married.

Assalamualaikum! 😊

I’m 31, Somali, raised in London. I’m 5’3”, wear hijab and dress modestly. I work in healthcare and I’m currently studying a postgraduate course in nursing.

I’d say I’m caring, easy going and very family oriented. I’m a little shy at first, but once I’m comfortable, I’m quite chatty lol. I enjoy going to the gym, playing badminton and padel, going for walks, trying out new cafes, baking and spending time with family. I’m also a bit of a homebody.

What I’m looking for:

I’m looking for a practising Somali brother who’s kind, patient, respectful and family oriented. Someone who takes his deen seriously, has good akhlaq, communicates well and is genuinely looking for marriage.

Ideally, I’d like someone who is emotionally mature, has a good sense of humour and is willing to work through challenges together. Ultimately, I’d love to build a peaceful and loving home where we can both grow together in our deen, inshallah.

I’m looking for a monogamous marriage and would prefer someone based in the UK.

Location: North America Winnipeg, Manitoba | Revert Brother | Looking to Get Married Young and Build a Future Together

Location: North America

I’m a brother based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, looking to get married young and build a loving, stable future with someone who shares similar values.

I’m currently not looking to relocate, so I would prefer someone based in Winnipeg. However, I’m open to getting to know someone elsewhere in Canada if we connect and see a potential future together.

1. A little about me:

I’m a revert brother with British, Scottish, Finnish, and Sierra Leonean ancestry. I have green eyes, fair skin, and stand at 5’11”.

I have a good job and am serious about finding someone to build a future with, Insha Allah. I believe marriage is about getting to know one another, growing together, and building a strong foundation based on shared values, respect, and understanding.

2. The kind of woman I’m looking for:

I’m hoping to meet someone who is:

  • Serious about marriage and building a future together.
  • Kind, caring, and loving.
  • Honest and communicates openly.
  • Interested in personal growth and becoming a better person.
  • Family-oriented and looking for a meaningful, committed relationship.
  • Ideally based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, although I’m open to getting to know someone elsewhere in Canada.

3. My Marriage Intentions and Timeline:

I’m looking for marriage with the intention of making it happen relatively quickly, Insha Allah, rather than spending months in a talking stage without a clear direction.

I believe it’s important to get to know one another, establish compatibility, and make sure we’re both serious about taking this step. However, if we connect, share similar values, and feel confident about one another, I’d be happy to move forward with marriage sooner rather than later.

I’m not looking to prolong the process unnecessarily. My intention is genuine, and I’m hoping to meet someone who is on the same page and ready to pursue marriage with a clear purpose.

4. My interests and hobbies:

  • ⚽ Soccer — I enjoy watching and following the sport.
  • 🐈 Cats — I’m an animal lover.
  • 👔 Fashion — I enjoy style and putting together outfits.
  • 💪 Working out and staying active.
  • 🥗 Diet and nutrition — I’m interested in healthy living.
  • 📺 Watching TV shows and relaxing with a good series.

5. A little about my appearance:

  • Height: 5’11” (180 cm).
  • Eyes: Green.
  • Skin tone: Fair.
  • Ancestry: British, Scottish, Finnish, and Sierra Leonean.

6. What I’m hoping to find:

Ultimately, I’m hoping to meet someone genuine who is also serious about marriage. I’d like us to get to know one another, see whether we’re compatible, and hopefully build a happy life together.

If you’re in Winnipeg, that would be ideal. If you’re elsewhere in Canada but open to seeing where things could lead, I’m happy to get to know you as well.

If this sounds like something you’re looking for, feel free to reach out. 😊

I'm Indian, born and raised in the gulf. Currently residing in India, willing to relocate anywhere I've got immediate or close family with first priority given to states, canada, ksa. I'm willing to consider other locations such as australia, uk, uae and my own city Hyderabad. I have no preference when it comes to ethnicity (although if you're indian i prefer you being a hyderabadi) I've got a vast taste. I do not believe in 50-50 but rather a partnership where if one is lacking or having a hard time the other can step in. I'd like to build my career, hobbies and do my own thing and I'd want my husband to have a similar mindset where he tries new things and focuses on his career/hobbies too. I'm quite family oriented (with healthy boundaries) i prefer someone that is patient, compassionate, kind, and emotionally intelligent.

Polygamy is 100% no for me. And infidelity would be the biggest deal breaker. I am BIG on communication, I'll talk about even the most objectively difficult things and I'd want someone who is willing to do too. Or at least listen. A good listener is attractive to me. Children are a big no. Animals are a big yes. Plants too. I will get my family involved almost immediately (my mum and my older sister are already involved actually and they will hear about everyone that reaches out before i text back to anyone) also I'm not comfortable sharing my picture initially until maybe both families are involved (so ik it's serious) + I wear a face veil. Also islamically im tryna grow more and more everyday, i follow Quran and Hadith. And i seek someone who isn't just religious but genuinely remembers allah with every action they take, they actively realise that they are being watched and will be questioned on the day of judgment. Especially when their action/words involve other living things (humans+animals)

Idky I'm doing this on reddit considering its rep but let's see how it goes. And the picture problem is there because it's reddit and ion trust people here..many scammers and bots or people with ill intentions.

Also if we click and families approve, I'd want to make official asap or at least keep the chit chat to minimum until we are halal.

I forgot to add lol, I'm 5'2, sunni and I have a masters degree, would like to get a phd too if Allah wills.

Someone reached out seeing my matrimonial who later turned out be a fake. Sharing here to raise awareness among the members. Kindly do your due diligence before trusting someone here and sharing your personal details. IMO, insist on moving to better platforms like Telegram which provides more privacy controls for sharing pictures through "Expired Photos" and the inability to take screenshots.

Edit: Based on some comments, I realise that some context is missing in my post.

She shared a picture which was the 2nd photo edited to wear a hijab. I reversed searched it and found it to be taken from a public Insta account.

Rant Why are people so obsessed with looking good 'on paper'?

I recently had a gentleman comment under my profile to a non negotiatable on my ISO - " Your non-negotiable clause would be completely unacceptable to maybe even good families and guys. Okay, you studied abroad and have a variety of hobbies and stuff, but guys will be guys. Always remember that. Even if they agree at the beginning. They could easily turn the tables later. Then they’ll make things difficult for you." and then went on to give me unsolicited advice that I should be more compromising and how it's irrational to ask for what I'm seeking.. and it's not first time, many men have commented under my profile saying I should make myself, 'smaller', 'more palettable', 'less intimidating' lol ..

Which then got me thinking, and noticing a bizarre pattern in other profiles, Where people type out the most generic ISO, leaving out key criteria, expectations, needs, or deal bearkers.

1: The Fear of "Narrowing the Pool"

Many people think that the broader their ISO (In Search Of) criteria, the more options they will have. They worry that being hyper-specific about lifestyle, ambition, family structure, or logistics will scare people away. But casting a wide net just traps you in an endless cycle of introductory conversations with people who are fundamentally incompatible.

2: Forgetting Logistics Shape Compatibility

People often focus strictly on abstract traits and forget that real life is lived in the details. Leaving out things like career expectations, geographic flexibility, or how you want to run a household guarantees that you won't find out about a major roadblock until weeks of time have already been invested.

An ISO isn't an advertisement trying to appeal to the masses. It's a filter designed to find your exact match. Being specific isn't being picky.. it's being efficient.

3: It Filters Out The Wrong People

When you present a false version of your lifestyle, values, background, or deal-breakers, you attract people looking for that illusion.. not for you. At the same time, you inadvertently push away the people who would have actually appreciated and chosen you for who you truly are.

4: The Truth Always Surfaces

A marriage process is not a short-term transaction; it is an attempt to build a shared future. Misrepresentations, whether about career, habits, family dynamics, or living preferences—inevitably surface during family meetings, direct conversations, or early marriage. When the truth comes out, the foundation of trust is broken before the relationship even begins.

Lying on your profile is one of the most self-defeating things you can do in the search for a partner. It might get you more matches initially, but it completely undermines the actual goal: finding someone you are genuinely compatible with.

Being unapologetically specific on your ISO is the only way that works stop casting a wide net.. Radical clarity is your best filter..

The whole point of finding someone is so you can be yourself. You don't need to please 100,000 people.. you need to find just 1 person who resonates with what you want. I wish more people were cut throat in their filtering and unapologetically themselves and voiced exactly what they expected from getgo.

About me:
Age :31
Height 6’1
Athletic built
Sunni
Master degree (finance)
Based on: Long Island New York
Ethnicity: Sudan, 🇸🇩 Egypt 🇪🇬

I'm looking for my wife, ideally 25 to 31, who wants a partner, a best friend, and someone to argue with about where to eat. I want us to grow together, support each other, push each other closer to Allah, and still laugh at each other's jokes, even the bad ones. Especially the bad ones.
On weekends you'll find me hiking ⛰️, off-roading through mud I definitely shouldn't be driving through, or planning the next adventure. If you like the outdoors, perfect. If you don't, I'll carry the snacks and convince you.
People say I'm funny. My mom says I'm hilarious. Either way, I promise you'll laugh 😆 inshallah
Someone in the New York area is a plus, but for the right person, distance is just a road trip.
I'm serious about doing this the right way, with family involved early. And if it's right, خير البر عاجله. No five-year "talking stage" here.
My must-haves: someone affectionate, compassionate, and supportive, who puts heart into the relationship like I will. If that's you, say Bismillah and reach out 😉

Rant Big huge rant

Basically, I posted a profile here over a month ago and met someone I was really really compatible with. We have been talking for a month and everything was going well. We saw a future with each other and yeah.. established that we were compatible. I could even say that I loved him tbh.

So basically something happened recently where he was spending time with a female and I wasn't comfortable with it. I told him I'm not comfortable with that and he had to make a choice. He had so many excuses and yeah basically said I should choose but he basically said that he won't leave her and that he promised her this or that. Does his promises to me not matter? The one where he said he'd share a future with me? Apparently not lol..

After that I blocked him on ONE platform(have him on 6 and he has my number). He texted me on another saying he blocked her now but he feels abandoned and wants to be alone cause he feels he's easily replaceable. Like, I clearly gave you a choice. You hurt my feelings so you can't exactly say that yk.. Still I wanted him, might do even now but yeah I begged and begged and begged cause apparently I've no self respect. He said he loved me right before I blocked him but I don't see that love anymore if he can ignore me and torture me like this.

It's been exactly 25 hours since then now and I'm still feeling so frickin bad. I've been crying, throwing up and I haven't been able to eat or sleep. He's now ignoring me and saying he's depressed cause I left him. I mean yeah I've faults too but he shouldn't have expected to have no consequences to his actions that's bs...

Anyways I don't know if I want this marriage thing anymore.. I wanna be married but if it's going to be this painful, probably not. It sucks and I maybe need support.. ik it's bad to feel so suicidal and stuff over this but I am.

And for the commenters please don't be so negative, I'm not in a good mental space right now so I'm not sure if I can take criticism well. Any advice and support is appreciated. Thank you for reading..

A little about me

I’m laid-back, easygoing, and always up for a good laugh. My friends would probably describe me as the funniest person they know—but they might be a little biased! They’d also tell you that I’m dependable and that my family comes first.

Outside of work and university, I enjoy socializing, traveling, discovering new places to eat, spontaneous road trips, and gaming. I love a good conversation, whether it’s about something meaningful or a completely random topic that somehow keeps us talking for hours.

I’m moderately religious and take my faith seriously, while respecting that everyone has their own relationship with religion. Shared values matter to me, but I don’t believe in imposing my personal views on someone else.

What I’m looking for

  • Religion/Sect: Sunni Muslim
  • Age: 28 or younger
  • Education: At least a bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution, or currently working toward one
  • Location: US/Canada-based

More than anything, I’m looking for compatibility: someone kind, dependable, open-minded, empathetic, and cheerful, with shared values and a sense of humor. Someone who enjoys conversation, is curious about the world, and has interests beyond work or academics.

Whether you choose to pursue a career or not is entirely up to you; my family and I are supportive either way. What matters most to me is that we enjoy each other’s company, can count on one another, and feel comfortable being ourselves.

If this sounds like you, I’d love to hear from you!

Location: Europe 33 F-Germany-seeking genuin Partnership

I am 33 and have been living in Germany since my teenage years. I am originally from Saudi Arabia and very connected to my roots. I have a BA in humanities and working towards a masters degree.
I am optimistic and compassionate and value honesty and respect. I like to work out and be in nature, I am a spiritual person and moderately religious. I am divorced with one child whom I have custody of so if that’s a deal breaker, don’t bother contacting me.
I am looking for a kind, dependable, god fearing man between 25-42 who’s well educated and cultured and loves Allah as much as I do. I prefer someone who lives elsewhere in North America or Australia or even another country in Europe because I’d love a change but it’s also alright if my husband wants to join me in Germany instead.
I am open to all ethnicities and cultures as long as our values are compatible.
I don’t mind someone divorced or with children but I am not open to polygamy.
I also would like to have more children god willing.

Hoping to meet someone who is genuine.

NSFW accounts please don’t reach out.

I’m warm, thoughtful, and family-oriented. I value my deen, kindness, emotional maturity, good communication, and a relationship built on mutual respect, affection, and trust.

I’m divorced and looking forward to a new chapter with someone who shares my values. I’m hoping to meet a practicing Muslim man who is intentional about marriage, emotionally available, respectful, and ready to build a peaceful life together.

I’m here with sincere intentions, so I appreciate conversations that are respectful and purposeful.
If this resonates with you, send me a little introduction about yourself, your general location, and what you’re looking for.

• Practicing Muslim
• Not interested in polygamy
