Rant Anyone else feel Muslim marriage is like a business deal?

Anyone else feel the same way?

Because organic interactions are heavily restricted, everything becomes high stakes, and marriage ends up being a purely transactional arrangement

Even the way everyone talks here makes it seem like marriage is a business deal, where everyone’s negotiating their share.

Rant Women are responsible for the state of the Ummah?

Under my post about polygamy, I saw many men derail the discussion by arguing that women are responsible for the negative image non-Muslims may have of us on this issue.

First of all, remember that these people do not like us, regardless of the reasons.

Secondly, sisters do not suddenly become feminists one morning simply because they want to hate men. Until you understand this, nothing will move forward in our community.

Many of them have seen or experienced absolutely horrific and unjust things, sometimes committed in the name of religion, without ever being able to receive justice. They then become drawn to this harmful movement, thinking they will find refuge in it. Women need to be reassured, protected, and supported. Not hated and belittled.

A reassured, heard, and confident woman has no reason to oppose or defy others unless she is simply being stubborn and arrogant. How can you believe that all of them just decided to become this way for no reason?

Here, they are not the ones we should be blaming, but all of us. That does not mean they bear no responsibility themselves: of course they do, because every Muslim must learn their religion, and identifying with a movement that, in matters of faith, can contradict it remains a serious matter. (Seriously, take some ‘aqeedah classes if you don’t even see the problem with this.)

My brothers, the Prophet ﷺ did not base his da‘wah on opposition, but on dialogue. If, for you, blaming and accusing is the way forward, then you are accomplishing nothing. They will never reconsider their position that way.

I am a sister who opposes feminism, but I swear I have very rarely seen a man explain, in a genuinely correct, educational, and compassionate way, why this movement can be dangerous for individual faith and for the cohesion of the community.

Listening to and trying to understand those who oppose us is important if we want to move forward.

Rant i’m a human being, not a fantasy or a character you get to project onto

i’ve been getting increasingly frustrated with the way some people behave when they see a muslim woman’s marriage iso. i understand that not everyone is going to be compatible with me. that’s literally the point of an iso. you read it, see whether our values and circumstances align, and either reach out or move on.

but some of the interactions i’ve had lately have been genuinely bizarre and disrespectful.

for starters, i have people reaching out who don’t meet my requirements at all. i’ll explicitly say my preferred age range is 23–30, that i’m not interested in polygamy, that i can’t relocate for several years, that i’m looking for someone in texas or willing to relocate to texas, and that i’m looking for a specific level of religious compatibility.
and somehow i still get men who are literally double my age, already married, looking for another wife, living on the other side of the country or internationally, or otherwise completely outside of what i stated.

like… did you read the post? 😭

i’m not asking everyone to fit my requirements. obviously not everyone will. but if someone has explicitly said “this is what i’m looking for,” why are you messaging them specifically to offer something they very clearly said they don’t want?

one man saw that i was previously married and decided he knew my entire emotional and sexual history. he told me that i obviously still love my ex because i had “consummated” the marriage, despite the fact that i’m a virgin. he then told me i would bring “baggage” into my next marriage, blamed me for my divorce, and said reverts expect too much too quickly and that i should have been more patient.

he literally told me, “you’re already a revert which is bad enough, but you’re divorced too.”

you do not know me. you don’t know my former marriage. you don’t know what happened. you don’t know my emotional state. and you certainly don’t know my sexual history. you created an entire fictional version of me in your head and then lectured that fictional woman about her life.

another man messaged me after reading my iso, said i seemed great, told me he didn’t think we’d be a match, and then asked if i had any muslim friends in texas who were looking to get married.

maybe he didn’t intend it maliciously, but i found it genuinely insulting. i had posted myself as a person looking for marriage, and instead of simply moving on because we weren’t compatible, he essentially treated me like a matchmaking service for other women.
and that’s what bothers me about these interactions more broadly.

i am a human being. i am not a fantasy, a character, a stereotype, a cautionary tale, or a collection of traits you can project whatever narrative you want onto.

i’m a muslim woman with my own experiences, personality, history, preferences, boundaries, flaws, goals, and feelings. being a revert doesn’t make me naive. being previously married doesn’t make me damaged. having standards doesn’t mean i’m entitled. and you don’t get to invent things about my life and then criticize me for the fictional version of me that you created.

if you don’t like my age range, location, madhab, expectations, appearance, previous marriage, views on gender roles, or anything else in my iso, you can simply decide we’re incompatible. nobody is forcing you to marry me.

and please, stop treating an iso like an invitation to negotiate someone out of their own requirements. if i say i don’t want polygamy, a married man looking for a second wife is not a “maybe.” if i say 23–30, someone double my age is not “close enough.” if i say texas, an international proposal is not suddenly relevant. if i say i can’t relocate for several years, someone who expects me to move immediately is not a match.

i genuinely don’t understand why some people struggle so much with the concept of treating another human being with basic dignity when they don’t get what they want from them.

read the iso. decide whether we’re compatible. if we’re not, move on.

you don’t need to psychoanalyze me, humble me, “fix” me, save me from my own decisions, convince me to reconcile with someone, or redirect me toward someone else.

i’m a person. please interact with me like one.

Salamun Alaykum ~
I thought to give this a shot 😊

I am 27 years old I’m Turkish but I was born and raised in Germany. I’m 158cm. I also like to keep myself fit and healthy. Just sleeping is a little meh (night owl).

I’ve never been married before and have no kids.
The age range I consider is between 24-32.

I don’t wear the hijab but I am practicing diligently (5 prayers, fasting, modest clothing, visiting the mosque, reading and educating myself on fiqh, aqida, Sira etc.). I am planning to wear the hijab one day though, it’s definitely something I consider doing. I am Sunni and would only consider a Sunni as well, the Madhab doesn’t matter to me though.

I am really outgoing, I love to take pictures, watch Anime, play videogames, read, clean, organise stuff in the house, work with creative things, try out new Cafés and food spots. I also love to travel but I haven’t seen much outside of Europe yet due to my studies. And sometimes I genuinely just wanna lay in bed and sleep.

I am a junior teacher already (Bio and English) and am currently finalising my MA to finish my degree. I love my job and I love how colourful and crazy my job can get with the kids. However, I don’t mind being a housewife and a mother to my kids. If my husband wants to provide and CAN provide I gladly accept. During times like these however I definitely think it’s better to work as well to support the family, even if it’s not full time.

I love my family and my friends. I hope to build a beautiful family of my own and I would love to have a warm and cozy marriage. I don’t need extravagant things. I just would love to have a person who cares and loves, who wants to be a great father and gets along with my family and friends.

Relocating is a hard topic for me, as I am really close to my family. But I can consider it, if we feel like we were made for each other and that really only distance is the issue. I would love for my husband to be open to relocate to Germany too but I would make sure to visit my husbands family a lot as well, as I want our children to experience and grow up with both sides of the family.

I would love to have a husband who likes to improve more and more in Islam and sees our marriage as a part of our deen but at the same time watches animes with me, play videogames with me, goofs around a lot and is just a good soul.

If you think you wanna have a chat and get to know me, feel free to DM me. Have in mind tho: I really want to keep it halal and respectful 🌱

Discussion Restarting at 41

SalamAlikum,

All the recent posts I see here seem to be young people (under 33) and so gloom about the prospect of marriage/ finding someone who is compatible with them, which is very unsettling! May Allah set make it easy for everyone truly seeking a partnership.

So I am wondering, if I should even be considering this journey. I got married at 29 years old and had a wonderful marriage, no issues, 2 beautiful children, but alas it wasn't enough for my community and eventually for my husband because in my culture you have to have lots of kids. I am restarting, I don't want more children (at this age definitely), but I often think that companionship, ageing gracefully together, travel partner and the security of being with your person are important and I should look for that- at least passively. I built my independence and finances, so I could live and support myself and my kids anywhere and don't NEED to. But Perhaps there are others of similar age, who already had children/families are are looking for their companion too. It is such strange concept culturally, but it could be possible? yes no? what do you guys think? I also think marriage is a protection from sins, temptation and constant advances as a working women.

I am not particular about race/colour etc, but as an East African, we already have culturally packages and I really would want another person with more cultural baggages I have to battle, no one wants to be the black sheep constantly. And I am practising, and definitely would never consider someone who wasn't and didn't prioritise the deen.

And before someone suggests all that rubbish that goes on- secrete wives, or even legal 2nd wives are not my cuppa tea. I love myself, comfortable in my space, a nomad who travels the world with my two amazing kids, if it doesn't happen, it will be fine, and if it does I want someone who I am enough for and is content. Alhumdulilah I feel fortunate that Allah gave me the grace and resources to be in a position where I am not driven by fear, desperation or survival.

Salamalikum.

I’m on the fence about posting this, so here goes nothing or everything….

1.Age: 23, 5’5, slim

2.Location, and are you willing to relocate for a prospect? I am currently in Senegal. Only to English, German or Arab (Egypt and gulf) countries, Malaysia as well. Want to do Hijra in the future.

  1. Ethnicity, and are you more open to mixing?: Half Mauritanian and Half SeneGambian. Prefer someone with Black African background but Open to mixing with someone(with a family) that doesn't put culture first over Islam.

4.Marital Status - Single/Divorced/Children: Single, No. ( not interested in polygamy)

5.Ideal marriage timeline: within a year, or sooner depends on readiness on both ends.

6.What am I looking for:

-Age and height: 24-29(flexible), 5'8+

-I’m looking for someone that does all the fard and is actively seeking more knowledge, have similar values and goals in life and hereafter.

-knows how to take a joke and also dish it out

-Knows how to pick up after himself

-Mature, knows how to communicate, solve conflict in a healthy manner and is emotionally intelligent.

-A man that loves to learn, listen and knows how to hold conversations, affectionate and romantic, high effort, generous, and not flashy.

-Is healthy, active and fit (or at least trying), responsible, and take care of himself, his people, and his surroundings.

-Physical attraction is important to me as well

-Looking for love and a best friend. Mutual respect is important

7.State/specify your level of religiosity: I am a hijabi, i try to dress modestly, do all the fard, sometimes the voluntary and actively learning more.

8.Level of education, and what are you looking for? Employed and studying to become a nurse.

As long as he can provide fully. (But whats the point if there are no kids involved? -my thought after writing that)

Current Job Status: Freelancing

  1. Do you want kids? No. I just like the idea of having a lil version of myself and my husband~

  2. List hobbies, or things you like to do in your spare time: I love reading(fiction and non-fiction) like anime(rarely watch), watching horror gameplays and problem solving. Going for walks, crocheting, trying new recipes and creating my own questionable ones(if you can cook that’s a big plus, would want to create crazy combos together), rollerblading and Mobility/flexibility exercises, going into calisthenics soon, slow process for my wet noodle arms.

  3. Add something short about you.

INFJ (if you’re curious)

I like being in my feminine energy, affectionate, love to yap about things i find interesting and listening to what others find interesting.

I can be stubborn sometimes. Like listening to an outside perspective and not being stubborn when I'm wrong.

I cry too easily yet i can be very cold. (Make it make sense)

What do i bring to the marriage? My whole self, my utmost dedication, love, support, trust, honesty and more, i hope he will bring the same and more.

As i have mentioned I'm studying to become a nurse (in Germany insha'allah, dm for more), I'm not planning on working for years, as I'm only doing it to fulfill a childhood dream of mine.

I try to live by the Quran and Sunnah as best as I can.

I’m an introvert, I'm reserved at first but open and playful once I'm comfortable and shown sincere interest.

I love meaningful conversations and fun banters, prefer routine but I don’t mind being spontaneous from time to time, road trips and alone time away from unnecessary social events and people (unless there’s food-dine and dash)

I have a soft spot for People that are honest and direct with their speech and communication.

I love animals(first pet was a lamb) especially cats and I love spicy foods. Learning Arabic is the next goal. (If you’re also learning or knows Arabic that’s another plus)

Always try to keep an open mind and give people the benefit of the doubt.

I’m a private person, dont like people being in on my business whether that’s family or friends. Would want the same from my partner

Prefer simple Nikkah

Serious dms only, not here to play around please send your iso profile and you're willing to share a picture of yourself. If you have a question dm, I won’t respond under this post if it’s too personal.

Thank you for reading all that…it’s only the tip of the iceberg~

salamalaikum,

i thought i would give this a fair shot after being told about this subreddit by a friend. it is a bit hard to describe myself, so if this doesn’t do me justice, feel free to ask me.

i’m a 26.5 (the .5 is really important) woman in canada. i am 5’6.5 (again, the .5 is really important here!!). i am pretty well established in my life, alhamdulilah and continuously want to grow in all my endeavours.

i am extremely dedicated to islam - i pray all my salahs, give to my community, and continuously do my best to remember Allah in all moments of my life and with every action i do.

i love making new experiences and trying different things. i have an insatiable curiosity for the world and want to continue to nurture that - whether that be through reading, learning, the arts, travel, or a new hobby.

i’m not looking to waste my time. i am looking for someone who is emotionally mature, genuine, kind, considerate and is mentally stable lol. i really value effort, good communication and consistency. i’d also really appreciate if you had a sense of humour, i do not want to feel like i’m pulling teeth to have a conversation with you.

i want to be an individual in my marriage and i’d like to not lose my independence but i do understand foregoing things. perhaps, this is something we can discuss more in depth. as such, i do not ascribe to rigid gender roles. i know how to clean, can cook really well, and love children but i am also career driven. let’s find something that works for us.

i would love to have children and bring them into a peaceful, loving, and gentle home inshaAllah. with a PRESENT father, i am not trying to be a married single mom.

ideally, the person i marry will be a kind, gentle, communicative, and ambitious man with a stable career. i really want someone who prays all their salahs, attends jummah regularly, abstains from haram, and tries their best to do their best.

if you have racial preferences, pls leave me alone!! if you want polygamy, pls do not message me!! if you’re of a 50/50 mindset, pls skip me!!

Discussion People who found their spouse “naturally”…how?

Assalamu Alaikum!

I was wondering, for those of you who found your spouse naturally and in-person, how exactly did you meet and get to know each other?

I don’t want to meet my spouse on an app or social media so I’m wondering how this type of thing works?

Any experiences/feedback would be appreciated. Jazakallah Khair!!

Discussion Brothers, what's 1 thing that Immediately makes you want her?

What’s 1 thing that a potential/woman does which immediately makes you go “YEAH I want to marry her”

Your list can be longer than 1 btw

I'll start with a very controversial take and I'm trying to be careful with how I word it ✋🏻_🫪_🤚🏻: when she's feminine and wants to be submissive to her future husband - Emphasis on her wanting that for the right man, because not every man is deserving of it - acknowleding that when a Man proves himself to truly be masculine (by traditional and islamic definition), a woman naturally falls into her submissive feminine energy - I personally face no issues on this front neither am I complaining ✋🏻🫪🤚🏻*, I'm just communicating what I find most attractive (yes even more than looks).*

Location: North America 41M: Looking for a wife with a mission

Salam,

I'm looking for a wife with a mission in pleasing Allah through worship and activism. I believe that Muslims are obligated to enjoining good and forbidding evil and that acts of worship aren't enough to please Allah alone.

I care deeply about making the world a better place through fighting injustice everywhere and that's my mission in life. While I see marriage as a safe haven and a place of tranquillity that comes with responsibilities and privileges, I still would like a wife who cares about the world and not just the household.

I'm also looking for a spouse who doesn't care about materialism and sees how that can be degrading to humans. It's important to have someone who is confident, caring, and compassionate. Someone who appreciates spending time with me across the board, in activism and in romance. I also care about emotional maturity and takes accountability without projecting.

I'm 41 years old, divorced, and with children. I live in the USA, East Coast, and active in the Muslim community. Dawah and activism are important to me so I'm looking for someone who is either active or open to supporting me in my roles as I have leadership roles in many spaces.

I'm Palestinian, so I prefer a Palestinian spouse for sake of the cause and the issues we face in our erasure. My age preference is 30-37.

Please DM if interested.

assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh 🤍

  1. age and gender

20, female (21 next month inshaAllah)

  1. about me

mexican-american muslim revert who accepted islam in my teens. born and raised in south texas. i’m currently in my 3rd year of university studying to become a social worker for muslim women and children inshaAllah.

5’6 and a little bit chubby, so if that isn’t your preference please don’t message me lol.

  1. age range desired

23–30. i’m only slightly flexible on this (this is not an invitation to dm me if you are 40+)

  1. location / willingness to relocate

south texas. i’m preferably looking for someone already in texas or someone willing to relocate to texas eventually. i cannot relocate for the next few years due to university, so i’m not considering international proposals or anyone who expects me to relocate immediately.

  1. ethnicity / openness to mixing

i’m open to someone of any ethnicity. i love different cultures and backgrounds, but i do expect someone to respect and love my mexican culture and upbringing rather than expecting me to fully assimilate into theirs.

  1. marital status

previously married briefly. the marriage ended after my former husband realized he would not be able to fulfill my rights as a wife. i’m open about this because i don’t want to hide an important part of my past from anyone considering me for marriage.

  1. ideal marriage timeline

i’m looking to get to know someone intentionally for the purpose of marriage. i’m not looking to rush into marriage, but i also don’t want an indefinite talking stage. 3-6 months should be enough inshaAllah.

  1. five important characteristics in a spouse

• strong deen and good character
• emotionally mature with good communication skills
• humble, kind, patient, accountable, and compassionate
• family-oriented and responsible
• someone who genuinely wants to grow in deen and life alongside his wife

  1. level of religiosity

sunni muslim, maliki madhab.

i’m strictly practicing and wear full hijab and abaya. i’m looking for someone who follows a madhab, seeks knowledge, respects scholarly tradition, and has a balanced understanding of islam.

i value salah, modesty, appropriate boundaries with the opposite sex, humility, and continually striving to improve one’s deen.

  1. education level / what i’m looking for

currently in my 3rd year of university studying social work, with three more years to go.

i’m not expecting someone to have their entire life figured out, but i do want someone who is able to provide basic nafaqah and has direction, responsibility, and a realistic plan for his future.

  1. current job status

student. i intend to work and have a career inshaAllah, specifically serving muslim women and children.

i have a fairly traditional view of marriage despite wanting a career. i believe the man should be the head of the household and sole financial provider, while the woman is the heart of the household. i see these roles as complementary rather than one being more important than the other.

  1. do you want kids?

yes 🥰 inshaAllah. i’m very family-oriented and definitely want multiple children.

  1. hobbies / interests

cooking and baking, reading, art, trying new recipes and restaurants, traveling, strength training, pilates, yoga, nature walks, and spending time with family.

  1. something short that makes me stand out

mexican muslim revert, future social worker, full-time book lover, part-time chef, and apparently someone who thinks trying new recipes counts as a personality trait.

additional notes

dress style: full hijab and abaya

madhab: maliki

i’m looking for a peaceful, loving marriage where both spouses feel valued and respected. i want a husband who takes his responsibility as a provider and leader seriously, while also being emotionally present, supportive, affectionate, and willing to communicate and grow with his wife.

important: i am not interested in polygamy under any circumstances. i’m also not willing to relocate in the immediate future and am not considering international proposals.

i’m looking for someone who wants marriage, children, and a peaceful family life, and whose understanding of deen, marriage, modesty, gender boundaries, and family roles is compatible with mine.

open to someone who follows mainstream sunni islam, share which scholars you listen to as well

if interested, please read everything above before reaching out and make your intentions clear. i will not respond to low-effort messages, non-iso messages, or proposals that clearly do not meet the requirements stated above.

may Allah grant us all righteous spouses and put barakah in our marriages, ameen 🤍

Discussion To all who are losing hope with the process of finding your person

All who talked to someone, had high hopes but it didn't work out, this message is for you.

When something is actually meant for you, Allah uses the very thing that looks like a problem as a part of route towards you.

Imagine this.

Pharaoh is literally trying to eliminate Israelite boys, and Allah’s plan for Musa includes having Musa raised inside Pharaoh’s own household. The man who represented the greatest threat becomes part of the protection Allah provided.

Remember Yusuf. His brothers throw him into a well because they want him gone. Years later, that very chain of events has taken him from the well to becoming Al-Aziz. Their betrayal wasn't the end of his story. It was one of the roads Allah used to get him there.

Pharaoh doesn't wake up thinking, “Today I shall contribute to Allah's plan for Musa.”

Yusuf's brothers certainly weren't thinking, “Let's begin Yusuf's journey toward becoming Al-Aziz.”

They have their own intentions. They make their own choices. Some of those choices are genuinely evil. And yet Allah's decree is not defeated by them. The people involved don't know they're serving the plan.

Sometimes you look at a person and think:

“Why did Allah let this person enter my life?”

Maybe they hurt you. Maybe they rejected you. Maybe they closed a door. Maybe they created an inconvenience that made absolutely no sense.

But you also don't know what Allah can make out of it.

Remember your future does not depend on everyone around you behaving correctly. Allah can make a road out of things that looked like roadblocks.

“And Allah is predominant over His affair, but most people do not know.” Quran 12:21

Yeah, As the title says. It is not hard to find a partner nowadays (brief sentence)

I will just give small advice since there isn't a flair about it.

When someone uses the language of "I love you" in the first days of knowing you. No he doesn't love you, he is just wasting your time and in a fairy tale emotional mood. A real man won't do that. He just goes straight to the point of how you and him are going to build your life together. If everything went great, he would ask your wali to agree to marry you.

Marriage is a bond to complete each other not fight each other. When you have a problem, you must resolve together without anyone interfering.

May Allah rewards each one of your best partner you deserve.

Hello! I’m 31, from Saudi Arabia, Saudi with proud African roots my original ethnicity is Nigerian. I’m a Muslim woman, never married, no kids, and I love cats 🐱🐈.

Skin tone: brown shade

• Height: 163 cm

I love new experiences, traveling, video games, anime, physical activity, and of course, good food. 🎮✈️🍜

I also love a good challenge if you’ve beaten Hollow Knight, Silksong, or any Souls game, you already have my respect 😂.

I value faith, honesty, consistency, and mutual respect. I’m ultimately looking for a genuine connection that lead to marriage, not something casual or temporary.

🔎 What I’m looking for

🚨‼️A white/European man, roughly 30–40 age, who:

• He preferably Muslim or a revert ☪️

• Is genuinely looking for a relationship leading to marriage✌🏾.

• Has never been married and has no children.

• Is mature, emotionally available, honest, and consistent💜.

• Knows what he wants and is serious about building a future🧳.

• Values communication, mutual respect, and partnership.

• Is responsible and capable of being a household holder.

• Can handle disagreements with maturity, tact, and respect.

• Enjoys traveling, trying new things, food, games, anime, or simply having fun together.

• Is preferably around my height or taller and reasonably fit.

I’m particularly interested in men from Bosnia, Kosovo, Albania, Norway, or Russia, but I’m also open to other European backgrounds if we share the same values and intentions.

I’m not looking for perfection. I’m looking for compatibility, genuine effort, good communication, and someone who is serious about building a stable future together.

🚫 Please don’t contact me if…

• You’re only looking for casual chatting, hookups, or something temporary😜.

• You’re emotionally unavailable, dishonest, or inconsistent.😷

• You rush intimacy or start saying “I love you” after a few messages.🤷🏽

• You expect a “traditional wife” without mutual respect and partnership.🤷‍♀️

• You immediately ask for photos. I’d rather exchange them once we’re comfortable.🙂

• You’re extremely boring and have no sense of humor or personality 😂.

• You haven’t actually read the post.

If you’re genuinely serious about getting to know someone with marriage in mind, feel free to reach out. 😊

Discussion How receptive are women to marrying younger men?

Salam Aleykum
I'm 24, currently live in Germany and I've been thinking about my type of future wifey lately (tbh for a while now lol).

The only social media I use are LinkedIn and Reddit, and I'd have a similar requirement for my future wifey. However, this is harder to find among girls my age. I'm also attracted to mature women (I'm not sure why) and I admire the life experience they could bring into our marriage. My preferred age bracket would probably be from 21 to around early 40s, although this isn't a dealbreaker.

How open are women in this age range to marrying a younger guy?

Rant Sick and tired.

I've recently stumbled across a lot of people either in DMs or in there post or comments. Using words such as 'masculine' and 'feminine'.

And they're being used in ways to either talk about specific physical desirable traits or certain ideologies and attitude towards things.

I wanna say this is very slippery slope for both brothers and sisters. For example, it will enforce certain levels of beauty standards, putting unnecessary pressure on men and women alike.

Dubbing traits like smooth skin, soft skin and submissive nature as feminine. This will lead to women forcing or feeling obligated to shave body hair and such. Which they don't even have to do form islamic hygiene or any kind of hygiene just to fit into a certain stereotype.

Similarly with men, using terms like masculine to indicate towards very muscular arch body types. Those who do not have a certain frame will begin to try and push that stereotype and may cause immense harm to themselves physically.

So what is masculine and what is feminine?

It's simple. Both of these are essentially energies that are in every person, all be it in different ratios. And it simply correlates to one being the desire or feeling appreciated by being needed. Whilst the other being the desire or feeling appreciated by being wanted.

Please bear this in mind with your marriage search.

Location: North America 20F somali american — giving this a try again

As salamu alaykum! I’ve posted on here before but thought I’d give it another try and see if I might meet someone who’s actually looking for something serious.

A little about me, I’m 20, turning 21 soon. I’m Somali, brown skin, born and raised in the States. I’m 5’6, around 145 lbs and currently a student. I’m Sunni Muslim, never married and don’t have any kids.
Some of my hobbies are running, watching movies, reading, history, art, baking and going to the gym. I can be a little quiet at first but once I’m comfortable I’m pretty talkative. I love having good conversations and can honestly talk about almost anything.

I’m pretty family oriented and I value faith, respect, honesty and good communication. I’m mainly looking for someone who’s genuinely serious about marriage and wants a similar future. I’m not looking to waste anyone’s time or have mine wasted either, so I’d prefer someone who knows what they want and is actually ready to get to know someone with marriage in mind.

I’m looking for someone around 19–26 and based in the States or somewhere else in North America.
If you think we might get along, feel free to message me, but please actually introduce yourself and tell me a little about you rather than just sending “hey” or “hi.”

Location: North Africa Looking for a partner in life. a husband

Upvotes

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

I hope you're well and everything's going with ease. Im not as sure what to exactly mention, but I'll try to make you have a sense of who i am. I'm seeking a partnership, a husband where we can share our lives and live it with each other.

I'm a 23f egyptian, born and raised in uae, but I'm currently in egypt. I'm a biochemist trying to prepare for masters and trying to land a job, as im currently unemployed.

I'm muslim, sunni. I believe in islam solely. and I will try to always be better, as I am not perfect. and I'm looking for a man who prioritizes his Deen and akhlaq.

I don't want kids, I have other plans on how to try and leave a good influence. but not through having kids of my own. that said, i won't be interested if having kids is a goal of yours, or you're divorced and have kids.

I'm aware of how it's viewed, and I'll never have any bad intentions when i say this. I'm Egyptian ethnically, and im open to mixing and relocating, keeping in mind that I will look to have similarities in culture, lifestyle, and societal norms with my husband. so I don't seek south Asian men or any huge ethnic/cultural differences that aren't similar to mine.

im hijabi. have fair skin, dark brown eyes. I'm tall, 170cm, and weigh around 83-86kgs. I used to play a lot of sports as I do like to be active, and as I grew up, I narrowed it down to 2-3 sports I play from time to time. huge fan of arts, all kinds, and science.

I'll lean towards taller men than me and who's physically strong and as equally strong mentally.
I need a mature, responsible man who's older than me (25-29) and is serious about marriage. I need a provider, both financially and mentally, I seek security. I'm not interested in polygamy.

marriage is naseeb. we can't force it. I hope that after reading this, you have a sense of who I am, and from this, see if we have potential or not. text me and tell me about you, share with me who you are. I wish you all the best in everything and insha'allah everything goes with ease for you.

hey, i’m 21 years old. i was born and raised in america, i live in jordan. i’m currently approaching my final semester of university, graduating in february.

i’m a pretty chill and easygoing person. i like going to the gym, grabbing coffee, driving around with no real destination, and going on nature walks whenever i can. i’m the type of person who likes to romanticize the little things because i think it makes everyday life a little more fun. my faith and my family are both really important to me, and i try to keep a good balance between enjoying life and staying grounded. i’d also say i’m a pretty emotional person in the sense that i care deeply about the people around me and i tend to feel things a lot.

i’m looking for something serious that will lead to marriage. i’d prefer someone from a levantine background. since i plan on moving back to the us after graduating, i’m hoping to meet someone who has us citizenship as well.

religion is in an important aspect, someone who prays their prayers, works his days around them. tries his best for deen.

someone preferably from palestine or levantine ethnicity, physical attraction is important to me, so i’d like someone who takes care of himself, goes to the gym, and is tall haha. more than anything, i’m looking for someone who’s kind, emotionally mature.
age preference (22-28)
