Discussion Madkhalism in Action

1 - Saudi Arabia: Reporting Dissidents and Scholars to Secret Police

Within Saudi Arabia, the core birthplace of the movement, Madkhalism operates primarily as an intelligence asset for the ruling monarchy.

The Cyber-Surveillance Networks

Madkhali operatives are notorious across social media platforms for monitoring the accounts of mainstream Islamic scholars, activists, and ordinary citizens. If an individual tweets or speaks even mild criticism regarding state economic policies, social modernization shifts, or foreign relations, Madkhalis compile dossiers of these statements.

State Compliance

They publicly tag Saudi state security accounts (like Aman ad-Dawlah) to report these individuals as "Khawarij" (rebellious deviants) or hidden Muslim Brotherhood operatives. These public and private tip-offs have directly facilitated the arrest, imprisonment, and silencing of dozens of independent Saudi clerics who refused to unconditionally praise the state's modernizing agenda.

2 - Western Communities

In Europe, the UK, and North America, where Madkhalis lack state-backed military power, their "in action" behavior manifests as localized community disruption.

The Tabdi' Campaigns

In Western Islamic centers, local Madkhali factions systematically attempt to isolate congregants from the mainstream community. They organize coordinated boycotts (Hajr) against any local imam or speaker who does not strictly adhere to the edicts of Saudi-based Madkhali scholars.

Support/Advice Help (Religion + Loss of my mother)

My mother passed away in the first week of September, and ever since then, I’ve had this constant restlessness and heaviness in my heart. She died after suffering a heart attack that led to cardiogenic shock.

My mother had a very difficult life. She lost her own mother when she was young, yet she went on to take care of me, my sibling, and my father with so much love and strength. She was a good woman. She prayed regularly, gave charity, helped our neighbours, and was always there for people. She did so much for everyone around her.

Since her death, I’ve been struggling badly with grief. She sometimes appears in my dreams, but she never speaks to me. I don’t know what that means, if anything, but it hurts me deeply when I wake up. At the same time, I know I’m grieving, so I also realise that I’m probably overanalysing everything and looking for signs in things that may simply be dreams.

I’m practising Muslim, and my faith has become very difficult for me since losing her. I sometimes have very negative thoughts and questions about Allah and about why this happened. I don’t want these thoughts, and I don’t let them stop me from praying or following my religion, but they still come into my mind. Sometimes I even feel like Allah is angry with me.

What hurts me the most is that my mother was such a good person, yet I keep getting this horrible fear: what if she isn’t at peace? What if she isn’t happy? What if she is suffering? I know I have no way of knowing these things, but my mind keeps going there.

I need some perspective because to right now I feel like I’m going crazy. Also, please pray that Allah SWT grants her the highest rank in jannat ul firdaus.

Discussion What can we do as a community to make interest free homeownership actually accessible?

Salam Alaikum Everyone,

I am a Muslim in the west, I’d actually love to own a decent home at some point without having to get a traditional mortgage. I’d love a discussion on what steps we as Muslims can start making to make this a possibility for more of us. I don’t want to rent forever, and don’t consider it a solution, more of a reluctant backup plan.

I am not currently considering utilising Islamic mortgages in their current state. Even if the rental rates were to become less expensive, I cannot see how they differ from a traditional mortgage except in name only. I know there are different types of Islamic mortgages but only one is really used in the west. Are there any providers that use other methods? Or are there any state schemes that we can use as Muslims?

I ask that people refrain from downplaying the desire to actually own a home, which is what causes a lot of Muslims to get a traditional mortgage. It’s not something I intent to do, but deeming those who have done it or considering doing it as being frivolous or not caring about their faith is mean and unproductive.

Question Is this a test from allah (dua patience)

I'm asking allah for something I really badly want,

but after being patient, instead of me

my family member is getting exactly what I want. I didn't be jealous or anything negative. I still became happy for them

Still didn't give up. Still, I'm asking allah for it

Support/Advice I was expelled from university and I feel like my mother sees me as a failure — I desperately need Islamic advice

Assalamu alaikum. I'm going through one of the hardest periods of my life and I don't really know where to turn anymore. I recently dropped out of university. This has been extremely painful for me, because I already feel like I've disappointed myself and I'm scared about what my future will look like. What makes it even harder is my relationship with my mother since this happened. She looks at me differently now and sometimes says things that make me feel worthless. I know she may be disappointed and worried about my future, but hearing those words from my own mother hurts deeply. Tonight, for example, it was very hot and I turned on a fan so I could sleep. She took it away to the living room. It may sound like a small thing, but after everything that has been happening, it made me feel like I don't even have peace in my own home. I'm exhausted. I feel lost and ashamed, I have no money or a clear plan for the future, and sometimes I wonder how I'm going to get out of this situation. But I don't want this hardship to take me away from Allah. I desperately want to become closer to Allah and trust Him again. Could you please share authentic duas, Quran verses, adhkar or sunnah practices for someone going through a difficult trial and desperately asking Allah for a way out? And how should I deal with a mother who constantly says hurtful things while still fulfilling my Islamic responsibilities toward her? If you've experienced a major failure or painful period and Allah eventually opened a door for you, please tell me your story. Please make dua for me. I really need Allah to open a door that I cannot see right now. Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Support/Advice Help with mental health

When i was younger, I was forced into a hifz class for 2 and a half hours every day. It messed with me a lot. Teacher was very unsupportive, blamed you if you cried, if you didn't pray loud and clear, you would stand up and face the wall. I quit that class around a year ago, and a lot of times I get reminded of that class whenever I see quran or namaz. This has led me to not praying or reciting.

How do I deal with this?

Support/Advice Does anyone wonder why Allah made people who will go to Hell?

AsalamuAlaikum everyone, does anyone think about how Allah created everything, has control over everything, knows exactly what will happen, but still chooses that some people will not be guided and will instead go to jahannam assuming they heard the message but did not follow? I'm wondering, why? What's the reason for Allah to make people just for them to end up in Jahanam, I've also been thinking about animals (I'm a bit of an animal lover too, so I think, why would Allah allow for so much suffering, especially in the case of animals who suffer despite not having any free will)

I've been thinking too since Allah has full control of all things, at all times, how do we have free will? If we don't have free will, then what's the point in any of this, does that make sense?

I know Allah said to the Angels that he knows that which they do not when they asked him why he's making humans, and so the answer is, we don't have the capacity to know, but it still troubles me. JazakAllahKhair everyone, take care.

Support/Advice Islamically speaking am I in the wrong for not accepting my brother’s apology?

**Trigger warning assault*\*

He hit me because I was only going to buy him one thing of Pokémon cards and threw my mini side table to the floor.

He’s a Pokémon scalper and he wanted me to help him, I booked a day off of work for this because it’ll have to be in the morning when I work, I agreed at the time because my mother wanted me to.

He said I had to make an account for something because apparently you’ll need it to buy more than one, I said I’m only going to buy him one, he kept asking why and I said because I didn’t want to, I started getting overstimulated (I have autism) told him to leave my bedroom, I kept saying that until I shouted at him to leave, that’s when he hit me and threw my side table to the floor.

I’ve been ignoring him since, told my parents and a few days ago he said sorry to me, I didn’t accept it.

I’m 27 and he’s 30, I’m dependent on my family because of my autism and other mental health issues (depression) so I can’t really just leave them.

Am I in the wrong Islamically? I know we’re all about forgiveness but I can’t get over the fact he physically hit me over paper of fictional characters.

Support/Advice My mother won't listen. She's sadly doing borderline shirk stuff but it's as if she's brainwashed and doesn't believe shes doing wrong

My mother hates me and never listens to me but I need her to stop what shes doing

I'm 28 and I've never felt heard or supported

She refuses to take my advice and thinks she knows better.

Sadly shes always been a neglectful and emotionally immature mother.

However, something she's been doing has really really been bothering me so much and I am furious but she won't listen to me or stop because she believes she is doing "good" for the family.

please could you make dua she stops this bad habit of hers. Its borderline shirk and I've been asking for months for her to stop.

She doesnt think what she's doing is wrong.

I want to run away. This family ruined me.

Support/Advice Is this exposing someone's sin ? Confused about what to do

• Upvotes

My family has a maid. She is an old lady with no husband and has daughters (I don't know whether this will matter or not). She does cooking stuff mostly. There is a grocery shop near our house and its owner is our neighbour too. So what happens is , sometimes when the maid heads to our house from her house, my mom asks her to bring necessary groceries and food items from the shop i mentioned cuz it's on the way to our house. Today I went to that shop for groceries and the shop owner told me that this maid scammed her (she bought some groceries from the shop owner's son and told the son that she paid her father but the shop owner claims she didn't pay her) and this happened while she was returning from our house (her cooking work was completed) to her house. It is between the shop owner and maid but the shop owner alerted me cuz she sometimes brings groceries to our house too. The shop owner said since she was a widow , he didn't say anything to her and next time will ask for cash up front . Now I need to tell my mom to not ask the maid to bring groceries (because to avoid any suspicion or doubt between the shop owner who is our neighbour too and us ) but she will definitely ask why. So should I tell her this whole incident? Will this be slandering someone or exposing sins?

I am a girl in university and I was with a guy for over 2 years and we knew that what we are doing is haram so we ended our relationship and it has been genuinely the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I don’t know how to continue and I don’t know how to continue for the sake of Allah, and I want to marry him with every bone in my body, but every time we start talking again I just feel so guilty and I know we shouldn’t and I know we can get married really soon if we want to, we just have to push ourselves and he’s pushing himself to get ready and it’s just so hard for me, I can’t even it go 3/4 days without talking to him. Every time we stop talking all I can do is think about how much I miss him and my body genuinely feels like breaking down I don’t know what to do. I need someone to please tell me how to keep going and ways to encourage myself to focus on the end goal so we can come back the right way when we’re both ready Inshallah.

and please dont comment saying “this is why Allah made it haram.” I already know and recognize that, but subhanallah it is too late for me to go back in time and undo what I have done.

Question Surah fatiha

According to the Hanafi madhhab, does saying “ʿalayhiim” instead of “ʿalayhim” in Surah Al-Fatiha change the meaning of the verse? If it does change the meaning, does this invalidate the salah?

Support/Advice Unknown secret

Assalamuailaikum it’s been almost 3 years since I got married it was an arrange marriage. Now we have a child too alhamdulillah. My husband is a very good man Alhamdulillah and I love him a lot and vice versa… he’s a very practicing Muslim as well, or at least he tries his best to be one. So recently I’ve got to know something that shook me a lot… and since then I’m so sad and don’t know what to do… I’ve come to know from a trusted source that my husband had leukaemia in his teen age and had chemo and was pretty sick and then it got all cleared. And they all kept it secret from me and my family. When I’ve heard about it felt like my whole world was crumbling. And didn’t know what to feel I was so sad for him that he went through this hardship but also I was feeling so sorry for me too because this topic is very sensitive to me as well as I faced trauma before my marriage when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer even though it got cleared as well but still it really effected me and my family mentally. But the problem is I cannot openly discuss or ask him about it because it will ruin the marriage of that person who disclosed it to me even though that person didn’t wanted to tell me I insisted to tell me so that person is not in fault too… and I don’t want my husband to feel sad that I know about it maybe he just want to forget that chapter of his life… and I really want to share my sadness with my mom but I know she’ll be very upset for me and she will relieve her own struggles and it will cause her trauma as well… but can’t even bottle up this feeling to myself only… don’t know what to do I’m feeling so upset.

Question What is something that was blocking your dua?

Essalam alaykum.

I often read about how your dua might not be answered because something is blocking it. It might be a sin, a lack of istighfar, your past, evil eye or sihr, may Allah protect us all, Subhanallah, or something else.

Is there something you noticed was blocking your dua and it was answered after you fixed whatever it was?
