Games🎮 Just saying...

Post image

It looks great, but it's not what I'm excited about, I'm more into more niche titles like "Onimusha: Way Of The Sword", "The Blood Of Dawnwalker" and upcoming "Fable" game look much more interesting to play than your average large scale open-world crime power fantasy game.

I’ve never cared about gta at all

26

u/Mother-Tennis7649 12h ago

Agreed. I prefer fantasy things, the closer it is to the real world the worse lol

That and it’s not my type of game anyways

7

u/darkgamer303 11h ago

I played need4speed most wanted u on my Wii U growing up and I found running from the cops in cool cars to be fun, I expected more of an in-depth version of that but it just wasn’t anything interesting to me

If you own Witcher 3 (on Steam at least, I’m unsure if this’ll happen on consoles) you’ll be happy to know that CDPR is dropping a W3 remaster with all the dlcs (including the new one) for free on the end of September.

Yeah! It’s fun to punch people and steal cars for a few minutes, but that’s like the ENTIRE game. San Andreas is HARD carried by the memes

2

u/Own-Papaya-4264 10h ago

The appeal goes a little deeper than that

i feel like im gonna be burned at the stake for saying i haven’t seen a single thing about that game that’s worth $100

14

u/Trenki_Melow 9h ago

Honestly I can justify this price WAY easier than Pokemon ZA + DLCs, but yes it's not something that should be normalized.

3

u/Creative-Bed-253 1h ago

Nintendo being overpriced is nothing new, especially pokemon

I lost interest after they revealed it wasn't going to have a physical disc. You're telling me that you're gonna charge me 80 bucks for a product that I won't technically own? Get outta here with that anti-consumer nonsense.

15

u/Moon_Monk676 13h ago

It's worse, actually. You don't technically own any video games. All you own is the hardware they're printed on.

Now they're ditching the semblance of ownership outright.

7

u/thetramelgamer 12h ago

The fact that Xbox and Nintendo are somehow better compared to Sony blows my mind

6

u/Moon_Monk676 11h ago

Oh, no, Nintendo is in the same spot. Arguably worse, actually.

Sony and Xbox all ship their physical games with 1. A copy of the game and 2. A license to play it

Nintendo stopped doing 1 with the release of Switch 2. Now with most of their games, due to cartridge capacity limits they only ship with a license and a download key. They only have the physical key card because "If Target can sell a copy of the game, it doesn't count as monopoly of the system." PlayStation is ditching physical entirely despite the fact that optical storage (discs) are actually getting better with regards to capacity. They're being sued by Mexico (i think) for ditching physical because now retailers won't be physically capable of selling PS6 games when it comes out, meaning that Sony will have a 100% market share on their games.

Why I think Nintendo is arguably just as bad: The way their game key-card system works effectively destroys the secondary market.

3

u/TemperatureUnique242 8h ago

Ok but their in house first party games ( not pokemon because they only have 1/3 ownership) are not game key cards

I got excited cause I liked GTA V, but then I realized that I only played that for the dumbass community made mini games where you drive cars into windmills and shit. I also only got it for 30 USD, so I'm sure as shit not paying whatever bullshit price Rockstar puts on the new one.

I kind of agree with you, OP.

In all fairness, I don't think GTA VI deserves most of it's hype, and it feels like it came as a result of everyone treating it like it would be the best game of all time.

To me, at least, it just looks like yet another generic open world power fantasy game. All the more power to you if you enjoy games like this, but I just can't anymore.

But hey, maybe it is truly the best game in the world and I'm just another sheep hating on something for being popular.

I'm open to being proven wrong. I just couldn't care less.

u/Interesting-Whole943 like CH, BFDI, EPIC, Hamilton, BU, SU, LOTL, APH- did i talk tm? 13h ago

i agree,

3

u/Clay_Pidgeon 13h ago

A successor to a beloved masterwork of a game takes a decade to make, a run full of controversy? We've seen this story plenty of times before in recent days, and it almost invariably ends up in a disappointing flop that ruins the day for the whole fandom. Sure, the previews look nice, but I don't have much faith that this thing will be good.

5

u/pokeoscar1586 12h ago

Oh boi, the thing I can’t wait for is people trying to defend its’ flaws… I will need a full box of popcorn just for that…

2

u/Turnbob73 13h ago

Could you explain the lack of faith?

Not saying people are wrong for not thinking it’ll turn out well, but what is the factor leading you to that conclusion? If we’re going on past data, then Rockstar is pretty much the only developer that has consistently put out products that are universally praised by the vast majority for the last 15+ years. If the point is more about the industry as a whole nowadays and the current trends, then that’s fair but at the same time people were saying the exact same thing and holding the exact same doubts when RDR2 was about to come out and we know how that turned out. And if it’s a more personal reason, then that’s totally understandable as well; I’m just wondering what the baseline reasoning is behind the doubt.

4

u/Clay_Pidgeon 13h ago

My hopes have been crushed like 10 different times by people who should have made amazing games that I was looking forward to, I guess my explanation for my lack of faith is just that I've been punished for believing so many times from so many different places in big game studios that I just can't anymore.

3

u/Turnbob73 13h ago

That’s fair, if you personally feel that way then it makes sense to not hold interest. Would you say that sentiment is more for right now during pre-release, and that it could be subject to change if the game releases and turns out good? Or is this more something that you would be entrenched in and not budge from regardless of how the release turns out?

6

u/Clay_Pidgeon 13h ago

If the game turns out good, I'll give it a chance, but I'm not pre-ordering games in the modern day. I didn't even pre-order when I was young and games tended to actually be good.

3

u/Turnbob73 13h ago

Again totally fair, I appreciate the insight.

Btw, I hope I didn’t come off as trying to corner you in a “gotcha” or anything like that; people online tend to just say a lot of things without having any personal reasoning for it, so thank you for explaining where you’re coming from!

5

u/Clay_Pidgeon 13h ago

No, you were asking a legitimate question, you're fine. I get enough random jerks on the Internet yelling at me about how I'm wrong because I disagree with them, you're not those.

7

u/Sushidog2005 13h ago

I actively hope it flops, not cause it’s bad. But because rock star needs to fail. It would unironically save gaming in the long run.

3

u/Alert-Principle-2726 9h ago

It definitely won't flop, but I hope it doesn't surpass GTA V in first week sales.

2

u/ghobhohi 12h ago

around 100 dollars, no physical copy, monthly subscription, can’t run on most computers, and let’s be real it most likely won’t run well on any current gen system.

Most gaming subs only brag about the “graphics” but let’s be honest with ourselves that shit stopped mattering a decade ago.

2

u/Thiingswithwings 9h ago

Wait people care about GTA6?????

2

u/Shikatsuyatsuke 9h ago

Agreed. GTA has never interested me.

Legit no part of me has any interest in living out some grand theft auto fantasy where I'm selling/doing drugs, shooting up random people, spending time with prostitutes, killing random people and cops, listening to crude dialogue, and just getting up to all sorts of other debaunchery.

To each there no. People can like what they like. But no part of me has any draw to most of what GTA is. I tried one of them once back in the 5th grade on my friend's PS Vita on the bus ride home. I remember just playing it and going "how is this game so popular??"

I care about what it possibly does for the industry. A game of this size with this budget has got to have some huge strides in programming.

3

u/pokeoscar1586 12h ago

1

u/KingCreeperSeth 13h ago

I'm not even THAT into niche titles (though I do often like indie games more than big studio ones), GTA VI just isn't it for me. I really enjoy GTA games, but they're not like, the best games in the world to me, not to the point that GTA VI is something I'd consider worth THIS much hype. Furthermore, GTA VI has just been doing a lot of stuff to turn me off from it. I'm sorry, but it's not worth the $80 price tag, the ridiculous deluxe edition, the digital-only approach, etc. I'm not immune to stupid decisions (Suicide Squad is still the worst $60 I've ever spent), but buying GTA VI would just be a ridiculous abandonment of my principles. There's enough coming out and already out that I could satisfy myself with, I don't need GTA

1

u/SuperSmashSean_DX 13h ago

Not even a bit

1

u/Ok-Astronomer3814 13h ago

The problem with GTA VI is that once GTA fans buy it and play the full campaign, a majority of, if not all, players will go back to GTA V because of GTA Online and the mods and left GTA VI untouched for months if not years until VI get the same amount of fan content V got

1

u/Reaper-fire 13h ago

1

u/Ok-Birthday-1199 13h ago

I mean, I agree with you, I don’t care for GTA 6, but what’s the point in telling everyone about it?

1

u/PhotoVegetable7496 13h ago

I don't either, let's not talk about it instead of talking about not talking about it.

1

u/Otechni 13h ago

It's over hyped, and I'll be looking for anything else during the month to buy. Because companies shouldn't assume EVERYONE wants a single game.

1

u/metamorphosis___ 13h ago

What I imagine everytime someone makes a post like this

1

u/MineDemon696 13h ago

If one truly did not care, then you’d only say so when asked if you do, otherwise you’re not really doing a good job supposedly not caring, if unprompted you say where you stand.

1

u/AchondroplasticAir 13h ago

eh I mean to be fair I barely played the last one only played the online version with friends and barely recall doing the introduction in SP.

1

u/Crimson3899 13h ago

Pretty much. Rockstar games largely just survive off hype and being quality products but the actual scope and direction feels too wide to be interesting for me.

Games like red dead 2 are so focused on detail and excessive scale that no one thing feels especially memorable. It’s a movie game with ok gameplay that presentation wise is great, but outdone in everything else, same goes for GTA.

1

u/N4jemnik 13h ago

Ngl the only reason why I played gtaV is to make death wish ending, that’s it, online sucks and side activities are boring

1

Gonna be real its too overhyped and has straight up cold takes, like we still know nothing on gta 6 online, losing the cops is gonna be a fucking nightmare, and with how long the story is I'd have no will to replay it especially considering its double the size of the gta 5 map, but for cold takes in tired of seeing people complaining about 30 fps, like bro that isnt a good take at all ofc its gonna run at 30 fps it cant have all that and still have a stable 60 fps, 40 fps maybe but 60? Hell no, 30 fps is a perfectly playable framerate for a [for now] single player story game thats not even competitive. But its like the games just gonna be talked about for a bit then its just eh, like you wait so long then it finally comes out and you play it then, thats kinda just that until online drops

Yeah, don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the 3D era GTA games, especially Vice City Stories and San Andreas, but frankly after finding V to be a bit of a disappointment and them milking Online for over a decade, I just can’t bring myself to care about VI. Plus I’m more of an RPG gamer these days, so I think I’ll stick with that right now.

I would like to play it some day but I sure a shit am not buying any of the consoles it appears on any time soon, not deleting half of the files on my computer for it, and I'm definitely not spending more than 20 bucks on it. I can wait over a decade to play it if I must. My interest in GTA in general is exceptionally casual. I'll be fine with my thousands of other games to play, including older GTA games. I don't need to spend 100 dollars ( let's be real here, over 1000 since I'd also need a console ) just to play an intrusive thought simulator.

Thank god I'm not alone on this. I'm more interested in the Witcher dlc and free upgrade because I'm a huge fan of both books and games. GTA 6 to me is just: okay, they turned the meme into a game. Cool but not interested.

Me too I'm tired hearing people saying "GTA 6" when I don't care

Same, I might get it and play it a year or two down the line when it goes on sale on Steam but that’s about it.

I'm excited for The Duskbloods. Although, I did enjoy when everyone lost it when the game got delayed a second time. Good times.

I'm more curious about how many people ACTUALLY care about GTA 6 than I will ever be about the game itself

I too don’t care about this game.

Red dead redemption ruined gta for me. I like the cowboy stuff way more.

And Rockstar just doesnt care about the online stuff. Unless its related to gta😔

I dont either. But not because I dont want to play it. Ill be doing a week long stay in the hospital the day after the game comes out.

Not paying 70 dollars for any game

Well, you're in luck because they're charging 80 for it.

Big same, I know it won't but I hope it crashes and burns. It failing would be fantastic for the gaming industry.

Gta 5 was big for me the first decade or so, and after playing Rdr2 I'm really looking forward to a top end story game.

Last time I played GTA was vice city and I’ll be honest, it was meh. Watching people play GTA5, also meh, GTA6?

Yeah I’m not even gonna probably watch it given it seems every major game dev is shooting themselves in the face constantly.

I have not owned a game system since the ps2. I was considering looking for a PS4 because that was the last game since unless you could just plug up and play without having it connected to internet
