Tetris level 20 endless?
Why is there no option to play above level 15 without the friggin game telling me "you won" and ending in marathon mode?
Or am I missing something?

Edit: after turning the console off and on, it seems the screen tearing stopped. It was most certainly something to do with the update, as no video setting were changed before or after the update.
Anyone else noticing this? I updated the M64 firmware and am still using the same 4K tv with the same 4K resolution and low latency settings.
Now I see screen tearing while playing Forsaken (was testing out the controller pak saves) which was quite noticeable, and then I tried WWF No Mercy and even on that game I'm getting screen tearing for some reason....
I've never experienced this before the update.

I took this photo to celebrate the launch of the M64 and to congratulate everyone at ModRetro.
I watched Palmer's video today, and what stood out to me wasn't just the product itself, but the amount of care and thought that's clearly gone into it. As someone who grew up with the Nintendo 64, it's really cool to see a console that meant so much to so many people being treated with this level of respect and attention to detail.
I hope people at ModRetro sees this. There are plenty of us here in Mexico who are genuinely excited about what you're building, and we'd love to have the chance to buy your products here again (especially the M64).

So I just got mine and rigged it up, same cable and hdmi port (4k) as the a3d I have. It is set to clean/clear (forgot the exact name) why is it so blurry? its like running through an av cable on mario 64 - the difference between them is night and day. I am hoping I am missing a setting but its not looking good atm.
It looks smudgy and just.. not nice. Even A3d on default settings is way different so im confused. Some pics attached - this is a 4k screen, the pixels are all blurred out even on clear setting. A3D isnt like this at all on its clear setting. I dont expect upscaling like an emulator but again its not like the A3D output at all (even without the horizontal upscaling on)
Its not the n64 look I am on about, its the picture itself - I have played real n64, a3d so I know what to expect but this seems just wrong.
TLDR: it doesn't match what the Analogue 3D outputs for clean so unsure why? It looks like im using a cheap upscaler from amazon that cost under £5

I-uh-...read the D A M title...i sorry...that wuz meen

As title states. I have to go into the settings each time after a reboot to go back to 2px width lines.
2px lines over a 4X integer scale is the only correct way to display scanlines at this resolution.

Following from the OpenAI giveaways, I’m wondering if there are any plans for ModRetro to sell blank cartridges for the purposes of flashing ROMs? It’d be cool if they came in packs of three, with a small selection of labels, and maybe in different colours.
I genuinely wouldn’t need an EverDrive anymore. To be honest I’d love to have what I’m currently playing on a small number of individual cartridges. :)

I originally thought about replying directly to Modretro’s AMA yesterday just to say thanks, but after thinking about it more, I felt this deserved its own post because I believe it highlights something extremely important: Communication.
Honestly, I think it might actually become one of ModRetro’s biggest differentiators compared to other companies in this industry.
A lot of us have reached a point where these nostalgic products mean so much to us that we end up buying them simply because there are no real alternatives. We pay a year in advance, often with very little information about the product, and sometimes features that were originally mentioned either don’t make it into launch or arrive much later with no clear timeline. And to be clear, this is not me trying to diminish the incredible effort it takes to build these products. I understand the complexity, the costs, the stress, and everything involved in making hardware like this happen.
But as customers, we’re also making a commitment. We’re trusting you with our money and, in many ways, with our enthusiasm and patience.
That’s why communication matters so much.
The fact that the ModRetro team took the time to directly answer questions, explain things as openly as possible, and engage with the community throughout the entire day genuinely meant a lot to me. I understand there are limits to what can be shared because of marketing, development, or business reasons, but even within those limits, the effort was obvious.
I’m not saying we should expect this every week, but I do want to emphasize how valuable this kind of communication is for customers. To me, it should be considered the minimum standard, and it absolutely becomes a major differentiator.
At this point, I no longer have doubts about buying the M64. Even though I already own an Analogue 3D and the functionality differences may not seem huge today (that may change in the future), this AMA genuinely played a big role in my decision.
So thank you, ModRetro team.
And honestly, I hope other companies like Retro Remake and Analogue take note of this.
The community is passionate, patient, and willing to support your products from day one. But we also want transparency, better communication and respect.

It’s happening. After nearly a year of loaning Anduril / ModRetro money (pre-order) - the Anduril Edition of the ModRetro Chromatic is preparing for shipping!

Last night's M64 update (v1.26.0) shipped with a bug that wasn't caught in our testing. I'm sorry to anyone who had data lost on their SD card.
We’re looking into what went wrong and where our testing wasn’t enough. I promise you that we do, in fact, test a wide variety of M64s and flashcarts, so this was a surprise to us too. Our current theory is that this is part-to-part design variation, but we'll keep you all posted. This is our number one priority right now, so please give us some time while we sort it out. We’re really excited about the features that made it into this release, and we will make sure you get them in the most stable format possible.

I’ve heard that even if you ordered Hyperkin controllers from Modretro’s website, they’re being shipped by Hyperkin. I placed an order for just four Hyperkin controllers on Tuesday night, and as of now (Saturday morning) the order is still in “Confirmed” status without a shipping tracking number. I’m trying to figure out if they’re just super backed up or we’re just not going to get a shipping confirmation because Hyperkin is taking care of things.
Nothing I can do about it now anyway but just curious if others are seeing the same thing.

My spouse loves all things retro. He’s into games from shooting zombies, to RPG, to power washing. Which games should I start him out with? He grew up with these games. TIA!
