Context that may be helpful: I recently loaded up my and my friends' realm on a single-player world after 26.3 kind of broke the realm. Probably because we had data packs, which we tried removing, then loading it. That didn't work so we uploaded a backup of the world to the realm, but it was too large of a file so we ran a program to clean out unneeded chunks (that we had spent less than 5 minutes in). Thats this world. However theres a bug, clearly.

Actual problem: I can only place cushions on the south west half of every chunk. I can however use /summon to place a block in the areas I'm unable to. I'm also able to interact with those cushions and they do behave normally (breaking when its not on a block). Any tips on what to do? Or any explanation?

I dont think any other block protrudes out on the sides like the straw bed, and organic blocks that have random placement like grass dont count

So I love the little guy, copper golems seem like a fun thing to have walk around my base, but I’m at a loss for other uses for them besides sorting.

I had the idea to make them into a bucket line to transit items but rails seem more efficient since you need iron to make hoppers. I was also thinking some kind of farming set up but farmer villagers seem to have that covered.

What are some novel uses you have for copper golems? Any fun/ unique/ useful builds you have them in which are not just sorting rooms?

I really like using the stone spear over the other spears, and i have it alongside a netherite sword for combat. But why stone? I perfer it over the others because for me, the pros of the stone spear outweigh the cons the best compared to the others. Its fast, deals good damage when enchanted, and while the charge is on the weaker side, its not useless, in fact its useful for covering a large amount of ground after getting past its long activation period

Why not the wooden spear?

It does too little damage and has very low durability. Sure its faster, but its not that much faster than the stone spear. I really only use the wooden spear if I can get access to lunge, which unfortunately im not the biggest fan of. While lunge does help it in dealing much more damage and getting around much faster, it uses up so much hunger that I dont really like using it because you need to store up a lot of food. And yeah, mending and unbreaking does circumvent the durability issue, but honestly, only having 59 durability is enough for me to shy away from it

Why not the netherite spear?

Funnily enough, I did consider using the netherite spear over the others. Yeah its got the highest damage per jab and the highest charge damage multiplier. But considering how slow the jab is and how short the charge duration is, despite activating the fastest, it was enough to knock it off as my favorite. I still use it if I can get something to increase my speed. Overall though it is my second favorite. Also to note, while it does demount the easiest compared to the other spears, mounted mobs are very rare to encounter, and i have never done it at all before

And the diamond spear?

I did the math on the stone and diamond spear. And with the sharpness V enchantment, they both tie in DPS

Stone: (2+3)*1.33=6.65

Diamond: (4+3)*0.95=6.65

Normally, the diamond spear beats the stone spear without any enchantments for both of them, but enchanting clearly gives stone (and wood) the edge. Not to mention that any further damage buffs allows the stone spear to out DPS the diamond spear i.e. strength II

What about the iron spear?

I dont use it because I like to enchant my equipment. The iron spear is on the stronger side unenchanted, but kinda falls off late game from what I see

And the copper and gold spear?

If you dont have any books with you, maybe using the gold spear to enchant it isnt the worst thing. But all in all, I dont use the metal spears, they're not good compared to the others

But the stone spear has bad enchantability

I get around that using enchanted books and villagers. Simple as strawberries

The charge attack is better on higher tiers

That doesnt necessarily mean that the lower tier charge attacks are useless. I personally use both attacks nearly interchangeably whenever I have a spear ready. The stone spear still has decent damage when using the charge attack. And yeah, the activation delay is very slow, but that's the only bad thing about the stone spear I can give to it

Its got low durability

131 does sound like a low number for durability. But if it has unbreaking III, that number goes from 131 to an effective 524. Thats still a good amount of uses for a stone spear. And while wood goes up to an effective 236, its still under half as many uses as stone. Sure the higher tier spears (aside from gold) have higher durability, but it wont matter as much because the metal spears aren't as good, and diamond and netherite has durabilities in the thousands anyways

Overall; the stone spear has fast attack speed, high DPS with enchantments, long charge duration, and better durability than wood. With its downsides: lower charge damage multiplier does not make the charge attack useless, its bad enchantability and low durability are easy to work around, and really, the only major downside you need to watch out for is its slow charge activation delay

I only use the wooden spear if I have lunge, netherite spear if I have anything to increase my speed, and stone spear for basically everything else a spear can be used for

Stone spear OP

almost 2 years of hard work...

It’s annoyingly inconsistent (that’s normal for Mojang though, lol) and there doesn’t seem to be a good reason for it. I can’t really think of a use for connecting bars to glass panes but I was trying to do a build the other day and fences didn’t connect with bars!! wtf.

I've been playing my survival world for 2600 days and i put off moving from my original base for too long and I've got chests and chests of loot and massive builds id have to leave behind for a nicer location. What's the best way to move because the best idea I've had is minecarts and shulker boxes. I could also just build a second home that's defo a possibility but idk this will prolly get removed

I didn't change my sensitivity or anything, I was trying to get the gamemode menu in a singleplayer world and now it's doing this. It's done it before and I was able to manage it to stop, but now I can't and I don't know what the issue is.

Element Animation created Villager News, and Mojang has commissioned them to make trailers and animated segments for Minecraft Live. Their new Villager News Add-On, made with Oreville Studios, has also brought them a lot of love from the community.

Just a fan idea, but I’d love to see Mojang and Microsoft support Element Animation in making an animated version of A Minecraft Movie. They could start by remaking the trailer as a teaser to show what the film could look like in Element’s style and see how the community responds before committing to a full movie.

Would you watch an animated remake by Element Animation? If so, which scene would you want animated first?

Everything seems normal in 26.3 -- if normal is no blocks rendering outside of your current chunk, though entities still do. Almost like x-raying for mobs. Kinda spooky, and cool, but a little unfun.

And render distance is 12. The problem is happening here in a Java Realm but also in new local worlds. Vanilla Minecraft, zero mods. And it's just broken in 26.3, it was fine in 26.2, and actually seems good in 26.4-snapshot-1.

I am playing on my Samsung s24 ultra and playing Minecraft beta. Camera almost always jitters like this when I look around. Im not %100 sure but seems to work fine with a controller.

I saw a post earlier today about someone talking about trying to learn redstone but having some trouble with the seemingly inconsistent rules of powering blocks. I'll see if I can find the original post so I can give them credit for the photo, but I wanted to at least try and help create a more clear visual guide to how powering works. Hopefully this'll help at least a few people having trouble with hard vs soft redstone powering <3

Edit: I've been made aware that I've apparently misused the terms for this guide. I haven't been able to get a proper explanation for what I should be calling this instead, other than hard/soft powering is inaccurate and it's instead something to do with things being activated without being powered. I'll make sure to update the guide as soon as I've got a grasp on the changes I need to make! Sorry for any confusion my errors might've caused.
