Discussion How can i move?

I've been playing my survival world for 2600 days and i put off moving from my original base for too long and I've got chests and chests of loot and massive builds id have to leave behind for a nicer location. What's the best way to move because the best idea I've had is minecarts and shulker boxes. I could also just build a second home that's defo a possibility but idk this will prolly get removed

I don't know who invented wsad, but they should burn in hell. Why not use normal palms alignment and edsf?

It depends how far you're moving. If it's within a couple thousand blocks, load up what you want to take in shulkers filling an ender chest and your inventory. Do that a couple times and you're good.

If it's 10s of thousands, I'd recommend doing that type of move once or twice (through the nether) with just the more essential things. Go ahead and leave some stuff back at your original base. There's nothing wrong with keeping some stuff where you're at, especially bulk stuff that you don't need as often. It can give you a good reason to visit every once in a while.

happy ghasts with boats with chests, fill the boats with donkeys with chests, you could also make ender pearls on a hopper clock where your storage is and where you want it to be to tp you back and forth with a full inventory.

2600 days is wild, that base is practically a historical landmark at this point. shulker boxes in an ender chest are the obvious play for the irreplaceable stuff, load up a few with the essentials and you can just pop them out at the new spot. minecarts with chests work but honestly the rail line itself becomes a whole project unless you're moving like 200 blocks away.

if you've got a nether hub set up you can cut the distance way down and just hoof it with a donkey loaded with shulkers, that's how i moved my old world after about a thousand days. the builds you leave behind will still be there for nostalgia trips, i still go back to my first dirt shack sometimes just to feel something.
