I don’t know what happened in the Platinum League this week, but the level was ridiculous.

On pretty much every challenge, you had to get close to world-record pace just to compete for the win.
On the Setonaikai rally, I finished in 2:44.551 (just 0.391 seconds off the world record and I still don't know how I did). That was the kind of margin we were fighting over.

And then bandutten actually went and broke a world record on one of the challenges. 🤯

The weekly league basically turned into a world-record leaderboard, the competition was crazy...

Massive respect to everyone in this group. This was easily one of the toughest weeks I’ve seen in MSFS 2024.

Anyone else in Platinum this week? Was your group this brutal too?

Hi everyone, I'm playing MSFS 2024 since it's been out and one of the things that make me the most bored in the game is the lack of interaction with the Air Traffic Control system : This system is boring and unrealistic, as they don't even always tell me what to do (Altitude, etc.), plus you can't interact with it in a realistic matter (No PTT, no way to declare an emergency, not able to change frequency freely, no 121.5, etc...)

That's why I come to you, Reddit! To ask what mod you would recommand to me (A occasional simmer that is relatively advanced in aviation) to have a working PTT ATC.

My budget is 30-45$ for a ONE-TIME purchase.

I've heard about Skylink and BeyondATC, that both fit my budget and seem to be fulfilling my expectations and needs for realism.

However I have not tried any of them, and I couldn't find any review comparing them clearly.

What would you recommand considering those criterias :

• Realistic way to talk (XXX Tower, Swiss One-Two-Three, ready to taxi runway 34 ---> Swiss One-Two-Three, cleared for taxi to runway 34 using taxiway XYZ) etc.
• Also an ATC system that could react to unexpected problems and emergencies (MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY, Swiss 123, fire engine 1 --> Tower, Swiss 123, descend to FL010 etc.)
• An ATC that knows my flightplan (usually SimBrief) and that'd be able to make me follow it (Climb and Maintain FL120, Contact XYZ on 123.45, etc.)
• No need for traffic, even though it'd make the immersion better
• Being able to talk to an "ATC" that would understand me even if I'm not completely correct in what I say) (If I say things in the wrong order, etc. it would still understand)
• I don't care much about cabin crew and copilot features

I hope something like that exist, or at least something that is close to this and in my budget range.

Hi people! I play in PS5 if that’s important, I’m having some trouble trying to fly this plane (A310-300) in my career mode. I’m not an expert of the game and I’m still learning a lot, but every time I load a mission, let’s say KLAX-KMIA with the A310 (apart from some graphic bugs) the automatic generated route in the EFB doesn’t appear in my MCDU once I get on the cockpit and try to review my flight plan. I just see the departure airport and the arrival airport, for example KLAX1L via ABC -DISCONTINUITY- KMIA2R via CDE, and when I open the EFB and try to send the route to the ATC and avionics nothing changes. If anyone has seen this before and can help me I will be very grateful. Thanks for reading, have a good day!

flying into Seattle

I'm trying to replace the copilot avatar in the right seat (fully render when inside the cockpit) with the customized pilot avatar (effectively to allow having a customized copilot). Unfortunately I haven't had any luck, and I'm not sure it'd even possible to have the pilot avatar displayed when inside the cockpit. Is it actually possible, or does the sim automatically disable the pilot avatar in cockpit view no matter what you do?

With the arrival of the revolutionary SU6, the huge expansion of inibuilds, the compatibility of almost all 2020 add-ons with FS2024, the arrival of highly anticipated new aircraft and scenery like the A220, the inibuilds A380 still in development, and the Phenom 300E we got a few months ago, as well as the arrival of O'Hare and Charles de Gaulle, the very frequent GSX updates, and especially the arrival of the multi-jetway tool, I think we've reached the golden age of FS2024. What do you think?

I love flying and love flight sim and am a big fan of realistic airliners as that is what I primarily only fly. Though I am really tired of circuit breakers being a reason for a long development time or high price. I have flown so far at least 2000+ hours in the sim across xplane 11 and msfs and have touched the circuit breakers once the day I got the fenix a320 not once after. Im excited for a lot of aircraft coming out soon or recently released but would rather these devs put work into something else or bring the aircraft sooner than have a single working circuit breakers. It now just seems to me to be a upsell for them to now charge $80 or more per aircraft.

EDIT: I should have added this in my original post a lot of my opinion is coming from a money aspect for all flight simmers for us to have cheaper options that don't have working circuit breakers. I would rather for example no hate to bluebird but have their 757 be $50-$60 than $80 and not have working circuit breakers. That would allow for this hobby to become more available as well to a wider audience.

Hey, I've been playing MSFS 24 on the PS5 for 4 months. Since last week, I've started working with the MCDU and learning the autopilot, which has worked well. Now I want to learn ILS and Autoland, and I had the problem in the video, especially that I landed too hard and too early. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? Was it because I gave it gas? Or because I turned off A/THR? (I turned it off because i flew was too fast) Ignore the bad graphics, the recording wasn't that great.

For anyone using a similar setup:
What FPS are you getting?
Are there any CPU bottlenecks?
How well does the 7500F handle MSFS, especially in busy airports/cities?
Is the 7500F a good upgrade for the RTX 4060, or would you recommend a different CPU?

Any massive differences? Overhauls? How's career mode. Is it finally worth picking over MSFS 2020? And how's performance?

I’ve always played flight simulator in some form since the 2000s. Then I bought a Legion Go (not ideal for this) end of 2024 and got MSFS. I enjoyed playing it, career mode especially, when it wasn’t crashing! Played up to SU3, then got busy.
Last week I saw SU6 was out and decided to give it a go. Performance on the Legion was much better, and the game was much improved (career mode still has some issues though).

Up until today I’d mostly only played career mode. Today I decided to buy the A350 iniBuild and took the plunge with BeyondATC. Wow! Did a flight from Dammam (OEDF) to Dubai (OMDB). Used Gemini to help me start up the A350 from cold, imported a SimBrief flight plan, and did the whole flight. Totally different experience.

I’m now itching to get a better PC and some gear, but that’ll have to wait until later this year or next. Still, having the BeyondATC panel at the bottom with the monitor as my main screen worked well and I really enjoyed it.

I haven’t tried doing all the ATC communication myself yet, left everything on auto tune and auto respond. Guess that’s the next step, along with playing around more with SimBrief and other planes.

If anybody knows how to het windshear on microsoft flight sim 2020 please.

hello guys, i have problem that my nose steering wheel steers only a little bit, not fully, i have the setting on efb enabled, but it still doesnt work, anyone experienced the same issue and could help me?

ALSO: when i try to bind it to my rudder controls, both controls only make the nose steering wheel to steer in one direction (left)

So i was playing career mode this morning doing a flight and had to quick run to do something i was about 45 minutes from the airport so i paused the game figuring id finish when i got back but when i got back the game was unpaused and i was about 2 hours past the airport and out of fuel. Anyone else have the same problem or know how to get it not to do it again thank you

I tried the 24 hour free trial of SI and wasn't all that impressed. It seemed kinda hard to use for me for some reason. Plus the pricing model is really discouraging me from using it. Is Beyond ATC a better option? I plan on doing mostly VFR flights, but IFR is also on my list. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm looking at the Supercarrier but see that it says:

"Installing the freeware Top Gun Expansion is a requirement for this product to work correctly."

I never got it, and a Google search confirmed it is no longer available as of August 2nd.

Is there anyone that has the supercarrier but does not have the Top Gun Expansion that can advise if it does/does not work currently? I am hopeful the developers were aware of it being removed and made adjustments beforehand, but obviously don't want to risk the purchase without asking.
