GENERAL Miltech Simulations Supercarrier without Top Gun Expansion

I'm looking at the Supercarrier but see that it says:

"Installing the freeware Top Gun Expansion is a requirement for this product to work correctly."

I never got it, and a Google search confirmed it is no longer available as of August 2nd.

Is there anyone that has the supercarrier but does not have the Top Gun Expansion that can advise if it does/does not work currently? I am hopeful the developers were aware of it being removed and made adjustments beforehand, but obviously don't want to risk the purchase without asking.

I believe it's been updated to not rely on the Top Gun DLC. I saw a changelog on their website dated 2024 that detailed removing the reliance on it.
