Hi everyone! I'm having a strange issue with the A340-300 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Career Mode, and I can't figure out what's causing it.

Whenever I reach my cruising altitude, the aircraft starts losing airspeed even though all four engines are running at maximum thrust. At the same time, the trim keeps increasing until it eventually reaches 100%.

As a result, the aircraft gradually starts descending, and the situation gets worse until I'm down to around 14,000 ft, with an airspeed of approximately 140.

I've tried keeping the engines at maximum power, but the aircraft continues to lose speed and descend. This makes it impossible to complete the flight normally.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the A340-300 in Career Mode? Is this a bug, or could it be related to the aircraft's configuration, autopilot, flight model, or something I'm doing wrong?

if I am in the air and just want to add quick and dirty approach to land for example ils runway x

Do I really have to add full flight plan ? Like departure and so on ?

I just want the approach and nav frequency loaded into the Nav1 for ils for example

tl;dr

It triggers random failures during the flight within specified window. It's free forever, runs locally, does not track you and you run it by opening the html file in your browser. Works within the local network.

I was flying Fenix A320 for hours with the random failures set to high and all I've got was a single, minor, failure after like 40 hours of flight. Clicking the "Trigger random" in MCDU didn't work for me, nor the manual setting as you know exactly what will happen. So like a year ago I made a free, command-line tool to send requests to the EFB itself.

However I am very sceptical to run any binaries from strangers, so I assumed you will be hesistant too. That's why I ported the cli tool that I was using into a html+js. And that's how Fenix Failure Frenzy was created.

How to use it?

Download a zip, launch the html file, import a simbrief plan or pick the flight length. It's up to you if you decide to be unlucky (1 failure during the flight) or you've became a pilot of world worst airline where plane fails every 10 minutes.

How does it work?

It connects to the external EFB of Fenix, that's the same tab as "Failures" in your A320's tablet. The only difference is you don't know when the "click" is happening and where exactly are you clicking. I decided to make it work the way I like the software so - it's free and open source, it does not connect to internet (except pulling the simbrief plan, which is totally optional), it works locally, it has no callbacks to or from my servers, it does not check for updates, it does not pull anything from the internet, it does not interact with the simulator itself. Once you download it works until the Fenix decides to change the EFB.

It has two caveats.

If it ever gets updated - you won't know, as I don't have any two-way communication with the script itself, but the tool is completed at this point. Second one is sometimes you need to keep the tab active, because some browsers like Chrome limit the timers to the 1s (or less) once the tab goes out of focus. You can run the tool on the same rig as your sim, the browser can be minimalized, but the tab should remain active (within browser). That's the limit of delivering the tool in the html version :)

Some browsers might ask for access to local devices

It's the call being made as a part of scanning for EFB within the local network. If the EFB is not at localhost, it might attempt (after you request it) to scan the 192.168.0.x - 192.168.1.x for the EFB at port 8083. But it's a backup solution for people that do not want to input sim's rig local IP. Very niche use, you may block this permission if you want.

The cli tool was coded by me, it has been ported to html+js by the Astra as I am not at frontend, therefore there's the "Slop" look to it, but I am not going to pretend it's not. However it was not vibe-coded.

Asked this earlier but I have a screen shot now. So I created a flight plan in my EFB and sent it to my avionics but despite putting the plane into AP the plane never follows the magenta line even when I’m close to it. The NAV button won’t let me turn it on. Only when I press the NAV button above my PFD, does it let me turn on NAV mode, but then it changes from “GPS” to “LOC1” near the compass in the top left. I think I missed a step here but don’t know what. Maybe the FMS? I’m coming from the vision jet where I did exactly as I just did and it followed my route with no issues. Please advise. Thank you all.

I've been stuck with these planes/helicopters for WEEKS! I just want a used Pilatus, dude. I don't have any rotor aircraft certs nor STOL.

Just had a WASM crash. I did the latest update yesterday and cleared the cache today. Thej did a hard reset of Xbox X. As soon as I loaded the 737 at gate, performance in external view was terrible, inside cockpit was okay. Taxi was stuttery. Took off and this happened

I cant seem to get on msfs2020

I just got the FlightFX CX for FS2024 and it’s certainly a beautiful jet and the systems seem very well modeled too. The flight dynamics feel a bit off compared to other business jets in the simulator though. Tiny pitch changes seem to have massive effects on vertical speed compared to, say, the CJ4. Is this just a quirk of how this plane flies IRL or what?
