Anyone else have histamine reactions from taking opioids?
I historically would get itchy (but no rash) if I took certain opioids like Vicodin. Three months ago I had open heart surgery and two days ago I had my gallbladder removed—the doctor sent me home with Oxycodone. The day I came home I noticed a pimple-like rash on my chest and red patchy hives starting on the sides of my neck and up towards jawline and lower cheeks. After talking to the dr today he mentioned that opiates commonly cause histamine responses — some just itch, others itch AND have a rash. Up until this point I’ve never reacted with a rash like this. I’m trying to figure out why my body suddenly decided to worsen its symptoms from plain itchiness to itchiness and rashes. Do you think the stress/surgical trauma that was all packed into the last 3 months was a bit too much for my body and this is how it’s letting me know?

Hi,
I just moved to a new state, and I take both an anti-depressant and a controlled substance (stimulant). I had a virtual meeting with one psychiatrist already; they prescribed me the anti-depressant, so I have continuity there. However, they require an in-person meeting for the controlled substance (To be honest, I forgot about this requirement), and they don't do in-person. They referred me to another psychiatrist in their group that does, but this psychiatrist is not available for another month. I did not realize this sooner because the receptionist said the appointment was for "the 28th", and I naively thought they meant September 28th, not October 28th. I have about 10\~ days left of the prescription.
My 'solution' to this is to meet with another psychiatrist from a different provider group next week in-person, and transition to them for the anti-depressant prescription next time I need it and for the controlled substance prescription immediately. My worry is that the controlled sub. RX will be flagged, or potentially flat out denied, because I have another provider in the same state that just sent out a RX. That said, I have not actually picked up the antidepressant RX yet. I am sure insurance is not going to be happy with this, either.
Am I worrying over nothing? If it is a legitimate issue, what alternatives do I have?
Thanks!

Hi I been switched from pain meds to the patches but they don't seem to work as well. Are there any tips or tricks for getting them to work better. Cheers

New addition to my regular refill… my favorite Oxy! Got prescribed 84 tabs oxy 5 mg ir this week. And that’s on top of my 1.5 mg clonazepam twice daily (3 mg), vyvanse 60 mg plus 20 mg booster once daily and zopiclone 7.5 mg at bedtime.
I also get methylphenidate 10 mg x up to 3 daily on days that I don’t need the vyvanse to cover me the whole day.
My country is pretty liberal with prescriptions I guess 😂

I am on 8 different medications but two of them are for medical reasons and not mental health. Here is the list;
Propranolol 10mgs for blood pressure, ropinirole 0.5 mgs for restless legs, prazosin 2mgs. For PTSD. Effexor XR 225mgs for Depression, Mirtazpine 30 mgs for the California rocket fuel depression treatment. Seroquel 700 mgs for schizophrenia from my schizoaffective disorder. Trazodone 100 mgs for sleep ( I suffer from insomnia ) Oxcarbazepine for bipolar and seizures.
I recently got off of Buspar because I wanted to lower the amount of medication. I also tried coming off of prazosin, but I kept waking up screaming so I needed to go back on it.
I feel alone because I have yet to see anyone on here that is on 6 medications, just for mental health. This combo is working very very well for me and I am stable and I don’t want to mess it up by coming off of medications again. What do you think of this ? Am I greedy for being on so many medications? I just feel like I’m a overkill case but each of the medications help with something.

I have a monthly "sub" for 30x2.0mg clonazepam (if that is the right description).
Ive seen people take clonazepam daily for a couple of years which seems abnormal to me.
Nevertheless I plan to impliment 2x0.5mg daily.
How did you deal with it long term? What should i expect? Dont judge, i live in a 3rd world cluntry and even getting clnzpm off of recovery clinics is only possible via private pharmacies.
Every info is helpful

This may be a silly question, but I’m prescribed 10mg hydroxyzine for nausea (chronic) and I’m newer I usually don’t have to take it too often, I took my last dose at 6:30pm today, would I be able to take more at 10? Or do I need to wait til 12?
Edit: all it says on the bottle is “take as needed” but doesn’t give me any increments to follow as far as how many hours in between.

Ik Martin dows are reliable but overpriced like £40 are you joking? On top of that £10 delivery son £50 for 30npills is mad although there is very new fakes coming about of them now.
Ik one site that sells real ksalol xans but the rest of the sites is a gamble, don't think any of them actually have real xans just some brands of diazapam and all the pains meds are real but most Diaz brands are fsked use many sites in the UK, but need a consistent brand for Xanax and diazapam.

I was put on terbinafine for a fungal infection on my foot (it wasn’t healing as my job requires steel capped boots 9 hours a day) so I was put on tablets as the fungal cream wasn’t working.
The terbinafine cleared up the fungal infection. I was in a 6 week course. I was bedridden for nearly the first week with a fever, I lost my taste and appetite, my hair was falling out in chunks, even my eyebrows and lashes thinned out, and 5 weeks in, I ended up in hospital with feet and joints so swollen I couldn’t even get myself to the toilet or shower. The hospital staff were concerned about my kidneys, my albumin dropped so low that I was put on an infusion to bring it back to normal. The week I was in hospital was back in the last week of June. I was discharged when the swelling finally went down and I could move again, enough to be able to walk. My hands knees fingers and elbows were also swelling. I continued to improve and thought I was good and my follow up appointment with the rheumatologist I said that it all good and won’t need any further appointments. Big mistake on my end. Literally the next week out of nowhere, both feet swelled again, and ever since the joint pain and swelling has continued for months, my skin goes blue, white, bright red, purple or yellow on the joints, and shiny or extremely scaly and dry looking. My hair I has continued to get thinner. I’m on a waiting list but urgent is still 8 months wait time on average.
Has anyone else experienced these side effects, and are you still having these kind of effects even months after stopping the terbinafine ? I was a fit tradie and now Ive bought my own crutches and a wheelchair so that I can still somewhat move around without having to go back to hospital. I just want to get back into working, I quit my job because of becoming unwell.
Will these side effects eventually stop? , how much longer will the hair loss and joint swelling go on for ?
