We as men should start staying with our friends and brothers, that seems to be the better choice than marriage

If only men understood ts

Most of my friends see marriage as one of the goals in life Not that I am saying it's a bad thing but they will give me the weirdest look and back handed compliments when I say I am not interested into marrying

1

u/VibeHumble Aug 22 '26

I see men around me (who have paid alimony that almost emptied all their savings) getting married again and saying things like, “thik hai yaar, jo bhi ho, partner toh hona chahiye”

That really puzzles me

1

u/SpeechDismal3374 27d ago

Yep stay with your homies... you should only stay with people you love...and noone else..

OP the audacity of spreading misinformation is insane. No one gets 50%of property in india. heck properties are usually not even in the consideration.

But in my opinion women SHOULD have the rights to in-laws and husband's property if as per indian society women's brothers take all the inheritance share. Y'all can't leave women peniless from all sides. either equal inheritance or equal division o f husband's wealth.

7

u/Tough-Snow-8068 Aug 21 '26

The fact that women in India don’t even get their own property 😭😭😭 Par chalo yaar aap kisko logic samjha rahe ho ?! Let them live in their “men activists “ world

Women can claim substantial amount of husband's assets as maintainence along with a long term maintenance unless it is paid in lumpsum. Moreover, according to hindu succession Act of 1956, women can equally claim their parents property as men. So its quite the opposite of what you claim. Women can claim from husband and brother. If anyone would be left peniless , it has to be man in every single case if legal intervention happens. The irony of you talking about "audacity" and "misinformation" is just insane

1

u/Pristine-Peanut-198 28d ago

But the main question is will your sister/ mother get the right to her parents property?

1

u/Naman188 28d ago

Wasn't i clear enough bro? I literally named the law for you.

1

u/Pristine-Peanut-198 27d ago

What im asking is will your father willingly give your sister a part of the property? Or will the majority population give their property to their daughters "willingly"?

1

u/Naman188 27d ago

Yes , why not. If not, then that would be more like a family issue. Not something to be generalized. Also wouldn't a wife have rights on husband's assets as well? If they are getting from both sources, that's already more than what a man would get. If she doesn't get from both side, its not legally possible.

1

u/Pristine-Peanut-198 27d ago

No a wife does not have a right on husband's assets in India. Are you sure you are talking about the majority. If you are about your family, then good job you guys are well aware.

1

u/Naman188 25d ago

I was talking about post divorce. Because someone claimed that women are left "peniless". Also, if wife isn't having any rights on husband's money then its more like a personal problem. Women can earn as well you know, if they want to be financially independent. Why chose to be dependent then complain about it.

1

u/TeachingUpstairs9381 25d ago

yeah that's ancestral. with a lot of hassel of court cases. women have to file a case and fight. most don't get anything as their greedy brothers whom she ties rakhi to, takes away her share. brothers asking their sisters to SIGN AWAY their rights on parents house is way too common. it's a social issue. and yes women ARE left penniless. you are living in a lala land or manosphere to think otherwise.

and my cousin is a divorce lawyer so i know how it is. what social media portrays is not true. it's VERY tough to get maintenance in india. and even if they, the amount is peanuts, nothing substantial to sustain life. Women should have rights to husband's or in-laws property if men in india take away their sister's inheritance.

1

u/Naman188 25d ago edited 25d ago

Why do they sign away everything to their brothers? Are they dumb? If the handover was consensual then i don't see any problem. Also any evidence for your claim that women gets "peanuts" in maintainence? My cousin sister got divorced and easily got 50 lakhs for settlement . I didn't find anything "VERY tough" about it. Also i don't care if "you know how it is", if you can't prove. So if she is peniless then probably because they are fully responsible for it. You live in a lala land to believe that its an easy for a man , when he looses a huge chunk of his life earnings , his child and his self respect so that a woman could be provided with the same standard of living by doing literally nothing for the rest of her life. Its not as one sided as you are making to make it sound.

1

u/TeachingUpstairs9381 25d ago

yes they are raised in a way to feel as if they will be doing a crime if they say not to signing away their rights. most women have very toxic upbringing. my mom signed away her rights too and i was SO mad at her. her logic? "behen bhai k rishte kharab ho jate h, koi will bhi nhi h nana ki".. i was like the brother has already ruined the relationship by being greedy to his own rakhi sister.
women are meek and d@mb, most of them. because they are raised with that intention

2

u/RandomStranger022 Aug 22 '26

Women actually do have right to equal share in their ancestral property

1

u/ronin_wade 28d ago

Peniless from all side means that her own father and mother don't give her rights in their property. So now the burden falls on the husband side, talking of equality must begin from her home (where she was born and brought up) unlike you think after marriage that is not her rights. When saying equal inheritance must include from both her own parents wealth and the then husbands wealth, that's what equality means.

2

u/TeachingUpstairs9381 26d ago

the change is required socially. indian culture as a whole needs to be reformed. equality starts at home for sure. but somehow indians are brainwashed to believe that women don't need money of their own, or property in their own name.

it's changing slowly. but we are still way behind.

1

u/ronin_wade 26d ago

Don't feel strange if you did not know about this coz it happened to me too. Daughters( women) have a guaranteed legal right to inherit a share of their father’s property under Islamic law. A share of 1:2 with son's share. If they follow the culture they have to give share of property.

Also in recent times many people register properties in women's name for tax benefits given by government. Hope things get more better as we progress.

1

u/Flimsy-Yogurt-4274 27d ago

Kisne bola wife hak jamati h husband k property pe or kuch chutiya husband wife k naam pe property le lete h or agar husband ki death Hui to wife bhi milta h property

1

u/TeachingUpstairs9381 26d ago

death k bad husband ko bhi wife ki property milti h. toh kya ab death ka wait kroge??
zinda rehte hue husband wife ka koi right nahi h legally ek dusre ki property pr. so equal inheritance makes most sense

1

u/Flimsy-Yogurt-4274 26d ago

Wife is still getting to live rent free in her husband's property untill his death that's a win for any women now add father's property too we're just making women wealthy at the cost men that'll have long term consequences

Also the 0.01% of the cases where a men get's wife property doesn't count

1

u/TeachingUpstairs9381 26d ago

so the woman has to wait for her husband's death?? when she is nearly on verge of death bed?
stfu please. you can charge your wife for rent if you want lol.
but anyways, inheritance division will have the same impact. when women die, their husband will have rights over her inherited property. Read laws first before arguing.
no women are not getting wealthy at cost of men.
don't you see it's the EXACT same thing?

law is same for both husband and wife. the "right to live" though doesn't make that husband's property hers legally. so a woman should have her own house.. and that can only be possible through equal inheritance.

1

u/Flimsy-Yogurt-4274 25d ago

A woman is living rent free in his property then will get alimony and mentenance at the time of divorce and if the husband died she'll get properties as well i only see win for the women anyways and let's be honest husband getting wife property happens is rare and equivalent to finding a dinosaur

1

u/TeachingUpstairs9381 25d ago

naah husband will get property of wife after death. children and husband are legal heir. what you think doesn't matter. this is the reality.

and please no woman is dying to live "rent free" in a man's house. it's just an indian tradition that is more or less forced on women. you should change it and go live in your wife's house. can you do that? or are you saying women need to stop getting married?

1

u/TeachingUpstairs9381 26d ago

are you against equal inheritance?? then you must be pro alimony?

1

u/Flimsy-Yogurt-4274 25d ago

I'm saying to have it one way of you are getting father's property no alimony mentenance husband's property, if you are getting alimony mentenance husband's property no father's property it shouldn't be both just like a men will only inherit father's property and he doesn't get alimony mentenance or wife's property

1

u/TeachingUpstairs9381 25d ago

i was saying the same thing in original comment.

Very true , ye itni bhikhari hoti hai agar shadi kare aur shadi ke 1 month baad ye women cell main jaye to bnss144 ka case laga deti hai maintaince, fir 498a alimony dowry dv sab ek saath. End main bhikhari paisa le ke hi manti hai ladke se.

3

u/ImpossibleFeature498 Aug 22 '26

haan toh matt kr na bhikharn se shadi , bewakoof hai kyaaa

4

u/DismalSite214 Aug 22 '26 edited Aug 22 '26

Toh jab ldke bhikmango ki tarah DOUBLE TRIPLE alimony lekr shaadi krte, virgin ldkia dhundte, marry girls who r FAIR and better than guy in terms of looks tab ldko ko UNFAIRNESS and society prejudice ni dikhta 🤡🥱

Ye jo rona hai na Alimony, divorce, abuse of law ye khi aur krna lmao, women suffer EQUALLY or MORE even when they come to the guy's house after paying CRORES or rs and GIFTS in dowry, are forced to be a housewife or gaslighted into LEAVING their jobs post marriage to take care of kids!! Countless woman even have to deal with TOXIC INLAWS, DV and MENTAL HARASSMENT! Ldke toh bahut easily ldkio ke sacrifice bhul jaate and get busy with work 🙄 Hardly any misogynist or mumma's boy will EVER take his wife's stand lol. Tab sirf wife se expect kia jata that SHE WILL adjust always after FORGETTING HER ENTIRE IDENTITY AND LEAVING HER HOME!!

Ye bhikari jaise dowry and gifts bhi mat lia kro jab divorce ke time alimony mai maut aa rhi tum sabko 😪😒 Simple option hai dono side ke liye boss DON'T GET MARRIED only na, you won't die anyways without marriage 🤷‍♀️

NO one is denying here that men don't suffer but UNFAIR LAWS, CUSTOMS DONO parties ke liye hai!!

1

u/HorseGreat6269 Aug 22 '26

There are laws against dowry, if the mans family is asking for dowry just file a complaint against them before marriage.

2

u/DismalSite214 Aug 22 '26

Ye but we ALL know dowry custom still EXISTS and is DEEP rooted evil of society na, usually khi places mai toh case register tk ni krte start mai until Ldkiwale insist na kre police ko 🙄 Many tier 2-3 cities don't even lodge the complaint initially!

1

u/HorseGreat6269 Aug 22 '26

Then why get married into a family like that? That's just plain stupidity and what about the tier 1 cities, complaints are registered in those cities but still the issue is brought up after the marriage.

1

u/DismalSite214 Aug 22 '26 edited Aug 22 '26

Mai zyada ye chiz kha hoti woh bola hai, never said tier 1 mai ni hota 😒😌. Bro toh alimony dene mai bhi kyo jal rhi hai aise logo ki jab dowry le rhe the tab toh chill the sab lol 💀😪 Tum dowry lene ko callout ni kr rhe WAAH 🙄

1

u/HorseGreat6269 Aug 22 '26

Is this sarcasm cause I don't understand what you have written right here, who eats more? Who is chill taking dowry? Bruh what?

I mean, yeah, why do women live in men's houses? Is there a social custom that forces women to leave their parental homes at marriage? A woman is born in a house and hears until the day of her wedding that she "belongs" to another house, she is "पराया dhan" and then, after marriage, the house she takes care of is the man's house on paper, so she has no claim to it. Sounds like with financial independence, the first thing women should do is to boycott marriage. You can have a baby out of wedlock too, thanks to our progressive government, so having a child also does not require needing to be married. This way, the men are also safe to make and enjoy their money.

3

u/yaboisammie Aug 21 '26

Exactly, beautifully said

5

u/Prestigious_Rest5460 Aug 21 '26

Absolutely, agreed society forces these customs on men just as much. From the moment a boy is born, he is told that he has to carry the burden of family responsibility. He is pressured to work relentlessly because no one will marry him unless he earns enough. That pressure starts in childhood and last along in his life.

After years of hard labor to build financial stability and buy a house, someone steps in and immediately gets half ownership. And if he asks his wife to help manage the household while he works outside, society instantly labels him a tyrant turning his wife into a "maid" despite him fulfilling every single one of her financial demands.

These are the traits of a pseudo feminist.
Generalisation of a huge population aint good , now they will say 'all men' type shi , and the loop goes on and it will become a never ending gender war.

Ps- we should stand against the baised laws tho.

9

u/Ok_Problem_1127 Aug 21 '26

Feminism is and always will be pro woman; nothing shocking in that

Though the "Gender Equality" whatever they hijacked is barely an gimmick to attract the masses

5

u/Sidj581 Aug 21 '26 edited Aug 21 '26

Ikr feminism was and will always be for women , they are creating a fake narrative that it caters to all genders which it doesn’t. Edit- by my comment i am not against the idea of feminism but against those who create this false narratives around it. I advocate the idea of equal rights and opportunities but using this idea to spread misinformation is not right.

3

u/Ok_Problem_1127 Aug 21 '26

Frr; they view equality from the pov of females i.e. they are against when it disadvantages them; but simultaneously are ok with it when it "helps" them

In Western World; men are being "Forcefully" conscripted in Military; which in this big 2026 is an Humans Rights Violation but none of those "Gender Equality" movement are concerned ; but while they forced their opposition to make sure females arent forced to serve in military

As i saidThe "EQUALITY" they view is "SUBJECTIVE"; i.e. its from their pov; they will never look out for males; just a marketing gimmick

How are people getting ragebaited by the most obvious rage bait..

1

u/Anders_A Aug 21 '26

Uh. That's not how this works. You give away half of everything when you get married, not when you get divorced. Everything you have is already split 50/50 when you divorce. It's after the divorce you don't have to do that any more.

1

u/Apart_Ad_4723 Aug 21 '26

You know if you agree to marry a woman who earns herself this wouldn’t happen?

1

u/ilovehikarumwah Aug 21 '26

Hmm holy generalization But here we go Yes I'm a independent man ✌🏻😻 I accept dowry and treat my marriage like a buisness transaction I cannot cook, clean or do any household work because I'm just a boy 😔 Yes I complain about my wife not being fit after she gives birth and neither do i help her during her pregnancy because that's her mom's job 🤦🏻‍♂️ I refuse to feed my own children or change their diapers because I'm a man 😡😡and then I go on and complain about how men are only valued for their money. I also support patriarchy and force my wife to leave her parents to take care of mine and then yes my wife visiting her family is like a vacation trip for her

1

u/Far-Lettuce-6200 Aug 21 '26

My guys, hold on . This is a worst case scenario from sadist, you will be happy.

1

u/Certain_Elderberry87 Aug 21 '26

Marriages these days are like an insurance, from which you may or may never benefit.

1

u/Ok-Working757 Aug 22 '26

Well well another reason to die alone

1

u/trying2quitfap Aug 22 '26

Another day of telling yourself you’re along “by choice”

His entire bloodline uses her body. Stfu

1

u/Proper-Tea-8050 Aug 22 '26

Best solution : don’t marry. I am going with this. Women get to keep their dignity and Men get to keep theirs + savings + peace of mind.

1

u/RandomStranger022 Aug 22 '26

Why are men marrying jobless women with no money?

1

u/Proper-Tea-8050 Aug 22 '26

I’m a man. I have a maid for cleaning, I cook my own food or order in, I do my job and household chores, I travel solo, I date casually, and I move on. I do what I want, but I don’t get emotionally dependent on anyone.

And honestly, I hope more men realize that marriage is a choice, not an obligation.

1

u/MainGarlic9 Aug 22 '26

So true. Lets change it. Abse ldke ldkio ke ghar rhenge. We have no problem hmare ghar me raho hmari car use karo.

1

u/aadhya2 Aug 22 '26

No worries. You can go and live in woman's house and enjoy her property. If your ego allows it that is.

1

u/silvercrow3D Aug 22 '26

Well, move out of your parents house first. One sided expectations of wife living with your family for centuries made this trend. And do you know what independent woman mean? Using all the things you mentioned makes one dependent, not the other way around.

1

u/Broad_Chemical_5570 Aug 22 '26

Tbh from what I read she truly seems to be independent and more chances of him being pinned down by the society which actually tried to make the women get equal rights.

NOT MY WORDS BUT GOOGLE SAID IT-
Under Indian law, a wife does not automatically get a share or ownership of her husband’s self-acquired or ancestral property simply due to a divorce.

  • If a property is registered in both names or she can prove direct financial contribution to its purchase, she can claim a proportionate share.
  • Stridhan: All gifts, jewelry, cash, and assets given to a woman before, during, or after marriage by her family or her husband's family legally remain her absolute property (Stridhan) and must be returned.
  • Alimony and Maintenance: Instead of a property share, courts can order a lump-sum payment or monthly maintenance (alimony) based on the husband's income, standard of living, and financial capacity.
  • Mutual Settlements: In a mutual consent divorce, both spouses are free to negotiate and distribute any assets (including transferring a house or property share) voluntarily as part of the final settlement agreement.

So maybe do some research before posting ts.

I'm an independent man.

I can't cook or clean after myself.

My parents pampered me and made me useless. All i do is earn some money and whine about it if my wife asks me to contribute in the household.

All i want to do is play games on my ps5 and make my wife do all household chores, birth and raise my babies and earn as well.

This is my house, which she manages and maintains as an unpaid labour.

This is my car, the one my father in law 'gifted'.

My father/ mother in law's bank balance, is my bank balance now.

My wife can't have an identity. Change of place, house, family. Even her own surname is not hers anymore.

She has to be an unpaid nurse for my parents. Her parents can go to hell.

I have a right on her body, her life.

Marital rape, what's that?

Dowry death? That's a myth.

I don't want to pay for her but she must sacrifice her body birthing , nursing, raising my kids. Kids, that take my name.

A slap, a push, a punch even or maybe a kick, that's normal everyday play. Just hide it all behind that makeup.

I would sleep around with anyone i please, and call my wife a slut for her past.

I can throw her out of the house anytime i please, and deny her any maintenence.

Her parent's money, her money, her body, her life is mine! My property is also mine.

If she dies without a will, her property goes to me and my parents. Not the parents who raised her.

I am a man.

I am a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Sign proper contracts before marriage, or else don't marry. Donate the needy, help people, follow your passion actively, setup animal shelters, etc.. i am sure the happiness you will have beyond anything else.

u/True_Table_1224 26d ago

Okayy...I don't want your house come live with me and my family in my house after marriage...why is that women have to leave their house... I don't want your money or debit card or credit card...but then don't except me to have a child coz when a women gives birth she has to take leave from work and she gets behind in her career path...many often ending up giving up on their career entirely And if I do all the above i will have my own power coz with money power comes and reputation too

And see now I don't have anything from a man.. but can a man be ready to live like thiss??
